Review Methodology

This page explains how BestProps separates official facts, firm submissions, public chatter, commercial placement, and editorial judgment.

This methodology does not guarantee that a firm will fit your strategy, keep the same rules, approve a payout, or remain a good choice after the last source check. Always verify current terms directly with the firm before buying an account or relying on a rule, payout, price, platform, country, or promotion detail.

What This Methodology Covers

This methodology is used for BestProps firm reviews, firm profiles, comparison pages, ranking pages, offer and deal coverage, and intelligence pages when they include review labels, source notes, or BestProps conclusions. Product-specific pages, such as RuleWatch, DealWatch, Pulse, Risk Signals, and the Payout Ledger, may add narrower source rules for their own rows, trackers, or evidence labels.

BestProps reviews account types, funding models, rules, drawdown structures, scaling plans, payout eligibility, pricing, fees, discounts, reset policies, platforms, instruments, restricted regions, trader restrictions, public reputation signals, operator transparency, and responsiveness.

Source Hierarchy

BestProps prefers sources in this order:

1. Official firm sources: firm websites, help centers, rule pages, terms, payout pages, pricing pages, dashboards, public statements, and official support documentation.
2. Firm-submitted information: corrections, responses, or clarifications with clear sources sent by a firm or authorized representative.
3. BestProps checks: editorial review of source pages, page changes, public records, archived sources, and cross-page consistency.
4. Public chatter: publicly available reviews, forums, social posts, and community discussion, labeled as public chatter, reports, claims, or allegations when not independently verified.

Public chatter can help flag what traders are talking about, but it is not proof by itself. BestProps does not treat a review-site theme, Reddit post, Discord screenshot, or social thread as verified fact unless stronger evidence supports the specific claim.

When Sources Conflict

If sources disagree, BestProps generally gives more weight to current official firm documentation than to older pages, screenshots, unsourced summaries, marketing copy, or public chatter. When a claim cannot be verified cleanly, BestProps may label it as a source gap, needs re-check, public chatter, claim, allegation, or unverified discussion instead of presenting it as fact.

For facts that can change quickly, such as rules, payout windows, prices, discounts, platform access, country restrictions, or account terms, BestProps tries to show a checked or reviewed date on new and materially updated coverage.

Scoring and Review Judgment

BestProps review work is evidence-led and qualitative unless a specific page shows its own visible score, rubric, or calculation method. This methodology does not create one fixed sitewide numeric score or hidden weight table.

Review conclusions may consider rules clarity, cost transparency, payout-process clarity, trader restrictions, platform and market fit, support and communication signals, public status, deal quality, source certainty, and disclosure quality. A firm can be a better fit for one trader and a bad fit for another. BestProps reviews are not guarantees of payout, rule stability, account approval, trader profitability, or trader success.

Labels Readers May See

• Official source: based on a firm-controlled or official public source.
• Firm-submitted: information sent by a firm or authorized representative, labeled so readers can see the source type.
• BestProps check: a source review, comparison, or editorial check performed by BestProps.
• Public chatter: public reviews, forums, social posts, or community discussion that BestProps has not independently verified.
• Unverified allegation: a serious or disputed claim that has not been independently confirmed.
• Source gap: BestProps could not find enough usable source support for a specific row, claim, or detail.
• Needs re-check: the source may be stale, incomplete, changed, or unresolved.
• Commercial label: if affiliate links, sponsored placements, paid placements, or partner offers are added later, the label should be clear and close to the affected item.

Labels reflect the evidence available at the time of review. They may change when official sources change, better evidence appears, a firm sends a correction with clear sources, or BestProps re-checks the page.

Commercial Influence Boundary

BestProps currently has no signup links, paid placements, sponsored rows, or monetized routing in this methodology page. If affiliate links, discount-code relationships, paid placements, sponsorships, advertising, or other commercial sections are added later, the relevant page should label them near the affected offer, button, placement, or section.

BestProps policy does not allow money to buy unsupported positive conclusions, remove material rule or payout caveats, turn public chatter into verified fact, erase source gaps, or override disclosure requirements. Any future paid, sponsored, affiliate, or partner area should use direct labels where that label matters to how a reader understands the placement.

Corrections and Firm Responses

Readers and firms can send corrections with clear sources, broken links, rule changes, payout-policy updates, or dispute notes through the BestProps contact page or by emailing info@bestprops.com. Useful requests include the BestProps page URL, the firm name, the official source URL if one exists, the relevant date, and a short explanation of the requested change.

BestProps may update a page, add a note, adjust a label, keep the content unchanged, or decline a request based on the available evidence. For serious firm-level allegations involving payout denial or delay patterns, fraud or scam chatter, insolvency chatter, ownership disputes, shutdown claims, or material rule-enforcement accusations, BestProps aims to seek a firm response when practical before publication or before a major update.

No response from a firm is not evidence of wrongdoing. When a firm response is relevant, supported by sources, and publishable, BestProps may summarize it or link it near the related claim.

BestProps is an editorial and intelligence site. It is not a prop firm, broker, regulator, auditor, law firm, tax adviser, financial adviser, fiduciary, insolvency monitor, or dispute-resolution body.
