Cheapest Perps Prop Firms: Total Cost Comparison

Home » Perpetual Futures (Perps) Prop Firms Research Directory » Cheapest Perps Prop Firms: Total Cost Comparison

TL;DR: On sticker price, the cheapest perps prop firm is Vest Markets: its 2-Step $5K evaluation costs $15, and a $500 Instant account costs $10. Kraken Prop’s $5K Advanced plan ($20) and E8 Markets’ $5K E8 Pro ($28, or $14 with E8’s 50% offer) come next. Sticker price is a poor guide, though, because a cheap plan usually gives you very little room to lose. Measured as price per $1,000 of maximum drawdown, E8 Pro with the 10% drawdown option ($249 for $5,000 at $50K, so $49.80 per $1,000) and Vest’s 2-Step ($50 to $60 per $1,000) are the cheapest at list price. With E8’s 50% offer, E8 Pro falls to about $25 per $1,000. Only Crypto Fund Trader charges an activation fee after you pass, on its Break plan, which was sold out on October 26. Trading fees, funding, split upgrades and refund rules change the real cost too. Each is compared below.

Checked October 26, 2026. Every price in the tables was re-read that day from the firm’s own pricing page, checkout configurator or public price list. BestProps did not buy an account, pass an evaluation or request a payout at any of these firms. Prices are as published and were not verified by purchase. All six firms describe their perps accounts as simulated in their terms.

Cheapest perps prop firm by entry price

This is each firm’s lowest-priced evaluation for its perpetual futures program, at list price. “Max loss allowed” is the plan’s maximum drawdown in dollars: how far the account can fall before it fails. That number, not the account size, is what the fee buys. Instant accounts are covered separately because they skip the evaluation and price drawdown differently.

Firm Cheapest evaluation List price Max loss allowed List price per $1,000 of max loss Firm-published offer Activation fee after passing
My Funded Perps Select $10K $40 $300 (3% static) $133 $30 (homepage card price) None
Vest Markets 2-Step $5K $15 $300 (6% static) $50 No firm code None
Crypto Fund Trader (Bybit) 1-Phase $5K $40 $300 (6% trailing) $133 $32 (with BOO20, if it applies) None (Break plan: $138 to $328, sold out)
E8 Markets (Perpetuals) E8 Pro $5K (6% drawdown) $28 $300 (6% static) $93.3 $14 (configurator price, 50% off) None
Kraken Prop Advanced $5K $20 $150 (3% static) $133 No firm code None
Propr Turbo 1-Step $5K $25 $150 (3% static) $167 No firm code None

Three things stand out. Vest’s $15 plan gives twice the loss room of Kraken’s $20 and Propr’s $25 plans. Kraken’s and Propr’s cheapest plans pair a 3% drawdown with a 3% daily loss limit, so a single bad day can end them. And Crypto Fund Trader’s 1-Phase drawdown trails your highest balance until it reaches the starting balance, while the other plans in this table use a static floor (Crypto Fund Trader’s FAQ describes the trailing rule).

The “cheapest” plan also differs by what you have to do to pass. Vest’s 2-Step needs 10% and then a further 5%. My Funded Perps’ Select needs 9%, Kraken’s Advanced 9%, Propr’s Turbo 9%, Crypto Fund Trader’s 1-Phase 10%, and E8 Pro’s target equals the drawdown you choose (6% on the $28 plan). E8 Pro also counts at most 2% of profit per day toward the target.

Cost per $1,000 of drawdown

To compare plans of different sizes and rules, divide the fee by the dollar drawdown, then multiply by 1,000. A $15 fee for $300 of drawdown is $50 per $1,000. A $20 fee for $150 is $133 per $1,000. The lower the number, the more loss room each dollar of fee buys.

The table shows, for each firm, the plan with the lowest list price per $1,000 of max loss at any size up to $100K. It is sorted from cheapest to most expensive.

Firm Plan with the lowest cost per $1,000 (up to $100K) List price Max loss allowed List price per $1,000 With the firm’s own offer
E8 Markets (Perpetuals) E8 Pro $50K (10% drawdown) $249 $5,000 (10% static) $50 $125 ($25 per $1,000)
Vest Markets 2-Step $5K $15 $300 (6% static) $50 No firm code
Crypto Fund Trader (Bybit) 2-Phase $100K $660 $10,000 (10% static) $66 $528 ($53 per $1,000)
Propr Classic 2-Step $100K $749 $8,000 (8% trailing) $94 No firm code
Kraken Prop Intermediate $100K $545 $5,000 (5% static) $109 No firm code
My Funded Perps Prime $100K $595 $5,000 (5% static) $119 $446 ($89 per $1,000)

E8 Pro at $50K with the 10% option ($49.80 per $1,000) edges Vest’s $5K 2-Step ($50.00). Both are well below the rest at list price. With the firms’ own offers, E8 drops to about $25 per $1,000, Crypto Fund Trader to about $53 (if BOO20 applies to that plan) and My Funded Perps to about $89.

The ratio is a cost measure, not a measure of how easy a plan is. It ignores the profit target, the daily loss limit, whether the drawdown is static or trailing, and the rules that limit how you can trade. For example:

  • E8 Pro’s profit target equals the drawdown you pick (10% on the 10% option). It counts at most 2% of profit a day toward the target, has a 2.5% daily drawdown, and each payout request pays out half of your profit while the other half stays in the account as a buffer.
  • Vest’s 2-Step has two stages (10%, then 5%) with a 3% daily loss limit.
  • Propr’s Classic 2-Step drawdown (8%) trails your equity high until it reaches the starting balance, and resets after each payout.
  • Crypto Fund Trader’s 2-Phase uses a 10% static drawdown and a 5% daily limit, but payouts come only after 15 traded days or every 30 calendar days.

Rules by firm: My Funded Perps rules, Vest Markets rules, Crypto Fund Trader rules, E8 Markets rules.

Prices by account size ($5K to $100K)

Each table shows the cheapest evaluation each firm sells at that size, its drawdown, the firm’s own offer where one exists, and, if a different plan at the same size gives more drawdown per dollar, that plan too. All prices are for the standard profit split (80% at every firm), before add-ons.

$5K accounts

The cheapest place to start. Vest’s 2-Step is the lowest list price per dollar of drawdown at this size. E8’s 50% offer brings its $5K perps plans to between $14 and $44.

$10K accounts

At $10K, My Funded Perps’ Select becomes available, and Vest’s 2-Step stays the lowest list price per $1,000 of max loss.

$25K accounts

At $25K the gap between sticker price and value is clear. Vest’s 2-Step is the cheapest sticker ($90) and gives $1,500 of loss room. Kraken’s Advanced costs $5 more and gives half that ($750).

$50K accounts

At $50K, E8 Pro with the 10% drawdown option is the lowest list price per $1,000 of max loss of any plan in this guide ($50). Vest’s 2-Step is close at $58.

$100K accounts

Vest does not sell a $100K account, so five firms compete here. This answers the common question of what a $100,000 perps account costs: from $330 (Kraken Advanced, $3,000 max loss) to $999 (Propr Classic 1-Step, $6,000 max loss) at list price.

Firm Cheapest plan at this size List price Max loss allowed List price per $1,000 of max loss Firm-published offer Lowest cost per $1,000 at this size
My Funded Perps Select $360 $3,000 (3% static) $120 $270 (homepage card price) Prime: $595 for $5,000 (5% static) = $119; $446 with the firm’s offer

Propr Turbo 1-Step $450 $3,000 (3% static) $150 No firm code Classic 2-Step: $749 for $8,000 (8% trailing) = $94

Two rows need a note. My Funded Perps’ $5K size is sold only as an Elite account. Crypto Fund Trader’s prices are the same for its Bybit option as for its MetaTrader 5 and Match-Trader options, but only the Bybit option trades perpetual contracts.

List price vs firm-published promotions

The tables above keep list prices and promotions apart, because a promotion can end, may apply only to a first order, and may not cover every plan. These are the offers the firms published themselves on October 26, 2026:

  • My Funded Perps: The homepage banner says “Use code ELITE for 25% off your first two purchases — 20% off every purchase after.” The homepage plan cards link to checkout with its standing code PERPS and showed every list price cut by 25% (for example $40 to $30, $595 to $446). Its docs say PERPS must be entered at checkout (its FAQ says checkout applies it automatically, so check the order summary), codes do not stack, and after your first purchase, discounts above 20% are limited to 3 orders in any 90 days. It also runs a “Second Chance” offer: 35% off your first account after its team approves proof that you bought an account at another crypto, perps or CFD prop firm. Until October 28, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. ET, its Reduced Fees add-on is free on up to 3 Select, Prime or Signature accounts.
  • E8 Markets: Every perps price on the E8 One and E8 Pro configurators showed “50% OFF” next to the list price, with the line “Save … with code E8 on first order”. E8’s discount-code page lists E8ARC as 50% off E8 Pro (Perpetual) and E8 One (Perpetual) “for all purchases”, plus a free account after a payout, and lists code E8 only for E8 Signature (Futures). The two pages disagree about which code to use, so check the total at checkout. See E8 Markets deals.
  • Crypto Fund Trader: A mini-game on the homepage reveals code BOO20 for 20% off. Crypto Fund Trader does not say which plans it covers or when it ends. The BOO20 prices in this guide are BestProps’ arithmetic (list price minus 20%), not prices the firm displayed.
  • Vest Markets, Kraken Prop and Propr: No code or promotion was published on their own sites, docs or FAQs on October 26. Each checkout has a code field.

Comparison and coupon sites list other codes for several of these firms, often their own referral codes. BestProps could not confirm those codes with the firms, so they are not printed here and are not used in any price on this page.

The promotion changes the ranking only for buyers who use it. At list price Vest’s $15 2-Step is the cheapest perps evaluation. With E8’s offer, E8 Pro $5K at $14 is cheaper by $1 and gives the same $300 drawdown.

What two attempts at $50K cost

Many traders fail their first evaluation, so a fairer total-cost test is the price of two attempts. This table uses each firm’s $50K plan with the lowest list price per $1,000 of drawdown. None of these perps firms sells a paid reset for a failed evaluation, so a second attempt means buying again. E8 is the exception that softens this: after a failed account it offers 10% off the same settings for 7 days.

Firm $50K plan Max loss per attempt One attempt (list) Two attempts (list) Two attempts with the firm’s offer Activation fee
Vest Markets 2-Step $3,000 (6% static) $175 $350 No firm code None
E8 Markets (Perpetuals) E8 Pro, 10% drawdown $5,000 (10% static) $249 $473.10 (second try at the 10% retry discount) $250 None
My Funded Perps Prime $2,500 (5% static) $300 $600 $450 None
Kraken Prop Intermediate $2,500 (5% static) $280 $560 No firm code None
Crypto Fund Trader (Bybit) 2-Phase $5,000 (10% static) $389 $778 $622.40 None
Propr Classic 2-Step $4,000 (8% trailing) $450 $900 No firm code None

How the promo column was worked out: My Funded Perps’ ELITE code gives 25% off the first two purchases ($225 twice). E8’s discount-code page says E8ARC applies to all perps purchases ($125 twice, the configurator’s 50% price). E8 does not say whether its 10% retry discount can be combined with a code. BOO20 at Crypto Fund Trader is assumed to apply to both orders, which the firm does not confirm. Vest, Kraken and Propr had no published offer.

The ranking holds for one attempt or two: at list price, Vest is cheapest in dollars ($350 for two tries with $3,000 of drawdown each), and E8 Pro gives the most drawdown per attempt ($5,000) for the second-lowest outlay. Crypto Fund Trader’s 2-Phase matches E8’s $5,000 drawdown but costs more and has two phases to pass.

Profit split upgrades and add-ons

A higher profit split is a cost you pay up front for a bigger share later. To judge it, divide the extra fee by the extra share. A $56 upgrade from 80% to 90% pays for itself only after $560 of gross profit has been paid out. If you are not confident of reaching that, the default split is cheaper.

Firm Default split Upgrade and published price Other paid options Extra gross profit needed to earn back the upgrade (example)
My Funded Perps 80% 90/10 at checkout only. Elite list prices with the upgrade: $5K $49 to $59, $10K $95 to $114, $25K $249 to $299, $50K $495 to $594. For Select, Prime and Signature the docs say each size has an explicit upgrade price shown at checkout; it is not on the public cards. Reduced Fees add-on (halves commissions and swap fees for the account’s life): 10% of the price after codes, $10 minimum; not on Elite. Elite No DLL option: $99 to $965 instead of $49 to $495. Elite $50K: +$99 for 10 more points of split, so $990 of gross profit before the upgrade pays off
Vest Markets 80% (95% on Instant) 90% on 1-Step plans, about 20% more: $5K $40 to $48, $50K $415 to $498 (10% target, 3% daily limit). Not offered on the 2-Step. A 4% daily loss limit or no daily limit costs more: $5K 1-Step (10% target) $40 with 3%, $60 with 4%, $75 with none. A 20% target costs less ($25 with 3%). $50K 1-Step: +$83, so $830 of gross profit
Crypto Fund Trader 80% (Instant starts at 50%) “90% Bonus Performance”: 20% of the evaluation price, e.g. +$77.80 on the $389 2-Phase $50K Weekly payout requests: +20%. On 2-Phase only: 6% daily drawdown +15%, 12% max drawdown +25%. 2-Phase $50K: +$77.80, so $778 of gross profit
E8 Markets 80% E8 Pro: 100% at checkout ($5K $32 to $39, $100K $488 to $586 on the 8% drawdown). E8 One (6% drawdown): 90% ($48 to $54 at $5K, $488 to $547 at $100K) or 100% ($48 to $60, $488 to $606). Wider drawdown options raise the price (E8 One $5K: $40 at 4% up to $87 at 14%). E8 Pro $100K: +$98 for 20 more points, so $490 of gross profit
Kraken Prop 80% 90% for 20% of the base price, at purchase only: $5K Advanced $20 to $24, $50K Intermediate $280 to $336 None published $50K Intermediate: +$56, so $560 of gross profit
Propr 80% on every plan No upgrade sold None published Not applicable

Promotions interact with add-ons differently. My Funded Perps’ docs say a code discounts the 90/10 upgrade but not the Reduced Fees add-on. The other firms do not say.

Activation fees after passing

An activation fee is a second charge you pay after passing, before the funded account opens. Five of the six firms publish no activation fee for their perps plans: My Funded Perps, Vest Markets, E8 Markets (its configurator says “No Activation Fee”), Kraken Prop and Propr (whose rulebook says the evaluation fee and standard trading costs are the only charges).

Crypto Fund Trader’s standard 1-Phase, 2-Phase and Instant plans are one-time fees. Its Break plan is the exception: a low evaluation fee plus an activation fee if you pass. The Break page showed “SOLD OUT” and “LIMITED TIME ONLY” on October 26, 2026, and the homepage hid its Break tab, so these prices are for reference.

Break size Evaluation fee Activation fee if you pass Total if you pass Max loss (trailing) Per $1,000 (evaluation only) Per $1,000 (if you pass)
$25K $70 $138 $208 $1,000 $70 $208
$50K $139 $198 $337 $2,000 $70 $168
$100K $199 $328 $527 $3,000 $66 $176

Firm-by-firm detail on what is charged after passing is in perps prop firms with no activation fee.

Break looks cheap at the start ($70 per $1,000 of drawdown at $25K) but costs more than most standard plans once you pass ($168 to $208 per $1,000). Break has no daily loss limit, pays on demand once funded, and applies a 40% best-day consistency rule when you request a payout.

Instant accounts: cheap to open, expensive per dollar of drawdown

Two firms sell perps accounts without a pass-the-target evaluation. Their entry prices can look low, but the fee buys far less drawdown than an evaluation does.

Instant account Price Max loss Price per $1,000 of max loss Profit split Other rules
Vest Markets Instant $500 $10 $10 (2% static) $1,000 95% No profit target, no daily loss limit

Crypto Fund Trader Instant Evaluation $5,000 $240 $300 (6% overall) $800 50% at the first level, rising to 90% 4% daily loss limit; payout after 15 traded days or every 30 calendar days, or a “Withdrawal & Upgrade” at 10% profit
Crypto Fund Trader Instant Evaluation $10,000 $475 $600 (6% overall) $792 50% at the first level, rising to 90% 4% daily loss limit; payout after 15 traded days or every 30 calendar days, or a “Withdrawal & Upgrade” at 10% profit

Vest’s docs say an Instant account’s max drawdown is “always equal to your one-time payment”, so every Instant size costs $1,000 per $1,000 of loss room, 17 to 20 times Vest’s own 2-Step. The $10 Instant account is the cheapest way to open any perps prop account in this guide, but it fails after a $10 loss. Crypto Fund Trader’s blog says its Instant Evaluation “removes the profit-target phase, not the evaluation itself”. My Funded Perps, E8 Markets, Kraken Prop and Propr do not sell instant accounts for perps.

Trading fees and funding inside the account

None of these firms bills trading fees to your card. They are deducted from the simulated account balance, which means they eat into the same drawdown the fee bought, and into any profit you later split. On a small account they can matter as much as the evaluation price.

The last two columns are BestProps’ arithmetic: $25,000 of notional opened and closed once, at the published rates, before funding. $25,000 of BTC is 5x leverage on a $5K account. On Kraken’s $5K Advanced plan, with $150 of max loss, about seven break-even round trips of that size would use up the whole drawdown in fees alone ($20 each). On Vest, the same trades cost $5 each with market orders and nothing with limit orders.

Holding positions costs money too. A $25,000 BTC position held for a day costs $7.50 in swap at My Funded Perps ($3.75 with Reduced Fees) and $8.25 at Kraken Prop, whichever side you are on. At E8, Propr, Vest and Crypto Fund Trader’s Bybit route, funding moves with the market and can be a charge or a credit depending on your side. Vest’s own fees are simulated during the evaluation but still count toward the drawdown and daily limit, per its FAQ.

Refunds, resets and retry discounts

A refund window protects you only before you trade. After that, the cost of failing is the full price of the next attempt, less any retry discount.

Firm Refund policy Reset or retry after failing
My Funded Perps Within 48 hours of purchase if there has been no trading activity, including opening the market data. Refund is the amount paid minus a non-refundable $25 fee. No reset for evaluations; buy a new challenge. Its docs mention discount codes emailed after an account fails, with no amount published.
Vest Markets Within 3 days of purchase if no trades have been placed (refund policy, prop terms, FAQ). Its homepage FAQ says “within 28 days”; the refund policy and terms are the more specific documents. No reset product; a breached account must be bought again.
Crypto Fund Trader 14-day withdrawal right, lost once you open a position on the demo account. Refunds are at the firm’s discretion. No evaluation reset. A funded (final stage) account can be reset for a fee if every trade had a stop loss and none risked more than 2%: $180 to $1,880 (2-Phase, $5K to $100K) or $198 to $2,079 (1-Phase).
E8 Markets Help centre: refund possible in phase 1, with no trading, within 30 days of purchase; no refunds for crypto payments. Its terms of service say all fees are non-refundable. The help centre also says E8 does not currently refund the fee with the first payout. 10% off a new account with the same settings, valid for 7 days after a failure.
Kraken Prop No refunds, except for one passed evaluation if your identity verification (KYC) is rejected. No resets; a breached account is closed and a new evaluation is bought at full price.
Propr Non-refundable once the account is activated, “regardless of outcome”. No resets; breaches are permanent.

Some futures and forex firms refund the evaluation fee with the first payout. BestProps found no such refund in any of the six firms’ perps terms, and E8’s help centre says it does not currently offer one, so count the fee as spent.

Cheapest crypto prop firm beyond these six

If you are searching for the cheapest crypto prop firm rather than a perps program specifically, a few more options are relevant:

  • Breakout: Kraken bought Breakout in September 2025. Kraken’s evaluation agreement says Kraken Prop uses the same account sizes, targets, drawdowns, leverage limits and evaluation fees as the standard Breakout evaluation, so Breakout’s crypto evaluations price like Kraken Prop’s. See the Breakout review and Breakout deals.
  • HyroTrader: a crypto prop firm whose accounts trade perpetual contracts on exchanges. See the HyroTrader review and HyroTrader deals.
  • Kraken Funded: a separate challenge inside the Kraken app with $1K, $5K and $10K plans at $20, $50 and $90. It is not Kraken Prop and is not covered in the tables above.
  • Crypto CFD programs: Crypto Fund Trader sells the same plans at the same prices on MetaTrader 5 and Match-Trader, where crypto trades as CFDs rather than perpetual contracts. Fees, leverage and swap rules differ from the Bybit option.

How to pick the cheapest firm for your plan

  1. Check you can use the firm first. A cheap plan is no use if your country is excluded. From the firms’ own pages: My Funded Perps, E8 Markets and Propr do not list the US as restricted; Kraken Prop excludes New York and Maine residents; Crypto Fund Trader adds no restriction for its Bybit option
