A Lucid Trading live account (LucidLive) is a real brokerage account that Lucid’s risk team may move you into after sim-funded trading, usually once you reach Payout 5 on LucidFlex, LucidPro or LucidDirect, or hit the maximum daily profit on LucidDaily. Under the current New Live Structure every live account starts at a $0 balance with an end-of-day drawdown of $1,000 on 25K, $2,000 on 50K, $3,000 on 100K, $4,500 on 150K, daily payouts, no daily loss limit and no consistency rule. You can hold up to 5 live accounts per household, one per funded account that has had at least one payout, and every other sim account is closed when you move. A repeatable live bonus ($1,000 on 25K, $2,000 on 50K, $3,000 on 100K, $4,500 on 150K, split 90/10) pays out after you hit a live profit target and 20 trading days. A cashout option replaces the live account if you don’t want it. LucidMaxx (Lucid Maxx) is an invite-only, two-step evaluation that leads straight to a live account with a withdrawable starting balance and a static $100 max loss limit. Checked against Lucid’s help centre on October 13, 2026.

This guide covers Lucid live accounts and LucidMaxx only: how the move to live works, the Lucid live account rules, live payout rules and bonuses, how many live accounts you can have, the live scaling plan, and which older rules still apply to traders who bought before Lucid’s 2026 changes. Every figure was read from Lucid’s own help centre and FAQ on October 13, 2026. Lucid has rewritten its live program several times in 2026, so we keep current and legacy terms apart and say which purchase dates each applies to. Where Lucid’s own pages disagree, we tell you.

What Is a Lucid Trading Live Account?

Lucid Trading sells futures programs on a path its FAQ describes as “Evaluation → Sim Funded → Live”, with LucidDirect skipping the evaluation. The evaluation and the funded accounts are simulated: you trade simulated capital and receive real cash payouts. The live account is different. Lucid’s general FAQ calls LucidLive “a real brokerage account”, and its New Live Structure article sets the rules. You cannot buy a live account. Lucid’s risk team decides who moves live and when.

So “Lucid live” is not a fifth plan next to LucidFlex, LucidPro, LucidDaily and LucidDirect. It is the stage those plans lead to. LucidMaxx is the exception: an invite-only evaluation that leads straight to live capital, covered further down.

Which Lucid Live Rules Apply to You? Current vs Legacy

Lucid keeps several live rule sets on its help centre at once, because each one still applies to a group of traders. Start by finding your row. The purchase date means the date you bought or last reset the funded account’s evaluation.

Recent change

A Lucid Discord announcement reposted on r/LucidProp on October 4, 2026 (“Changes to Live Path”) introduced the repeatable live bonus and the two-step LucidMaxx, and Lucid’s help centre marks the old LucidMaxx tier pricing as no longer applicable from October 4, 2026. The New Live Structure and New LucidMaxx articles both show “Updated this week”. If you were moved live before that, your onboarding email is the document that governs your account.

How Do You Get Moved to a Lucid Live Account?

Lucid says its risk team “continuously monitors trader performance” and puts traders in a live review pool when one or more of these apply (New Live Structure):

  • You receive the final payout (Payout 5) on a LucidFlex, LucidPro or LucidDirect account.
  • You have been paid out “a significant amount of capital lifetime”. Lucid does not publish the amount.
  • You earn the maximum daily profit for your LucidDaily account size.
  • You show “exceptional performance in sim funded”.
  • You have been moved live before.

Lucid adds that “Payout 5 represents the maximum payout level, not a guaranteed minimum for live eligibility” and that “all live transitions occur at the discretion of the Lucid risk team.” In plain terms, you can be moved before Payout 5, and you cannot keep a Flex, Pro or Direct account in sim past Payout 5.

What happens when you are moved live

  1. You receive a move-to-live email. Under the New Live Structure you then have 24 hours to choose the cashout option; if you make no choice, your accounts move to live automatically.
  2. Every eligible funded account (one with at least one payout) becomes one live account. All of them move at once.
  3. Every other simulated account you hold, including evaluations kept in reserve, is closed.
  4. You complete onboarding with Lucid’s broker partner, including KYC. Auto-liquidation and other risk settings are configured during LucidLive onboarding.
  5. Your live accounts open with a $0 balance and the starting drawdown for each funded account’s size.

Lucid does not publish how long onboarding takes. One trader who posted the live rules email on r/LucidProp in June 2026 said the email arrived “about a week and a half after completing the onboarding process”, and that onboarding itself “took less than 5 min” (Update on Lucid Live). Treat that as one trader’s experience, not a promise.

Lucid Live Account Rules (New Live Structure)

These are the current Lucid live account rules for traders moved from LucidFlex, LucidPro, LucidDirect or LucidDaily (New Live Structure, read October 13, 2026). The starting drawdown and contract limit follow the size of the funded account that moved live.

Some very volatile contracts get smaller position limits so you cannot exceed the live drawdown, and the Live Scaling Plan controls how much of the max size you can use (see the scaling section below).

Trading rules that apply on live

  • No swing trading. Allowed Trading Times says you may hold positions until 4:45 PM ET on Tradovate live accounts or 4:15 PM ET on Rithmic live accounts. An auto-liquidate option can close positions before those times.
  • No hedging, ever. Lucid says hedging live accounts is “strictly prohibited by both Lucid and the CME”, including problems caused by a copy trader, and that violations bring a permanent ban (New Live Structure, Prohibited: Hedging).
  • No consistency rule. Once promoted from sim funded to live, consistency rules no longer apply on any plan.
  • No daily loss limit. Only the end-of-day max loss limit (MLL) can close the account.
  • Household rule. If one member of a household trades live, the others may not trade simulated Lucid accounts.
  • Scaling plan. Your maximum contract size moves up and down with your live profit at the end of each trading day.
Conflict: can you hold overnight on a Lucid live account?

Lucid’s general FAQ says “LucidLive accounts may hold positions overnight (subject to margin/risk settings).” Its Allowed Trading Times article says “Swing trading is not allowed in the new LucidLive accounts” and sets the 4:45 PM and 4:15 PM ET cut-offs. The help-centre article is the specific rule for live accounts, so plan to be flat before the cut-off, and check your live agreement before holding anything overnight.

How the live max loss limit locks

Lucid live accounts use an end-of-day (EOD) drawdown. After each session the system takes the highest closing balance and trails the max loss limit behind it. Two rules decide when it stops moving:

  • Once your live profits equal your starting live drawdown, the MLL locks at $100 and no longer moves.
  • If you request a live payout before your profits pass the starting drawdown, the MLL locks at $100 straight away.

Worked example: a 50K live account

  1. You are moved live from a 50K LucidFlex. The live account opens at $0 with a $2,000 EOD drawdown, so the MLL starts at -$2,000.
  2. Day 1 closes at +$1,200. The MLL trails up to -$800. Intraday swings do not move it; only the closing balance counts.
  3. Day 4 closes at +$2,000. Profit now equals the starting drawdown, so the MLL locks at $100. From here, the account is lost only if the balance falls to $100.
  4. You keep trading and request payouts daily. Each withdrawal lowers the balance, and the distance to the $100 floor shrinks with it, so a large withdrawal leaves you little room.
Edge case: an early payout can leave you almost no room

Say the same 50K live account is up $800 after a week and you request a $500 payout. Because profits have not passed the $2,000 starting drawdown, the MLL locks at $100 at once. After the payout the balance is $300, so a $200 loss closes the account. Wait until profits pass the starting drawdown and the MLL locks at $100 anyway, but you keep everything above $100 as room. This reading comes from the New Live Structure wording; ask Lucid to confirm the exact numbers on your account before an early request.

Lucid Live Scaling Plan

The Live Scaling Plan limits how much of the max size you can trade, based on the profit in the account. It updates at the end of each trading day and moves down as well as up. Limits also vary by exchange: COMEX metals get the smallest size because of their volatility. Lucid says its systems track attempts to get around the plan and repeated attempts can lead to an account review.

150K$9,000+10 minis or 100 micros8 minis or 80 micros6 minis or 60 micros5 minis or 50 micros

Read it with the drawdown in mind. A 50K live account starts with 2 minis on CME products and $2,000 of drawdown, so a full-size loss of $1,000 per mini is half the account’s room. The 4-mini maximum only unlocks once live profit reaches $4,000, which is also the 50K live bonus target.

Lucid Live Payout Rules and Live Payouts

Lucid’s current live article lists “daily payouts” as a feature of every live account, and the legacy LucidMaxx article says there are “no profit minimums once live” and “no payout windows”. Beyond that, Lucid’s help centre publishes very little about live payouts. Its general FAQ says only that “LucidLive terms are handled within the live onboarding/agreement.”

If you need a firm number for minimum, maximum or split before you accept the move, ask Lucid support for the live agreement and read it. We have not seen a live agreement, so we print those figures as not published rather than guess.

The Repeatable Lucid Live Bonus

Under the New Live Structure you can earn a live bonus on every live account, more than once. Each bonus needs two things: live profit above the starting balance equal to the target below, and 20 trading days. Lucid defines a trading day as at least one trade with a net P&L of at least +$1 or -$1 after fees at the end of the session. It warns that “contract flipping” to farm trading days “may lead to further review” (New Live Structure).

100K$6,00020$3,000$2,70050%
150K$9,00020$4,500$4,05050%

Worked example: five 50K live accounts

  1. You are moved live with five 50K funded accounts. Each opens at $0 with a $2,000 EOD drawdown.
  2. Over 20 trading days each account earns $4,000 of live profit. Payouts you take along the way do not reduce that count.
  3. Lucid releases a $2,000 bonus per account as a payout. After the 90/10 split that is $1,800 per account, $9,000 for the five.
  4. You can then repeat: another 20 trading days and another live profit target earns another bonus.

Because the bonus is paid out rather than added to the balance, it does not give you more drawdown room. It does lift the effective payout on a live account: on a 50K, every $4,000 of live profit plus 20 trading days adds a $2,000 bonus before the split.

The Cashout Option: Taking Money Instead of Going Live

Lucid added a cashout for traders who “do not yet feel comfortable trading live capital” (New Live Structure). The article says the cashout “is equal to 50% of a traders live starting balance” and is split 90/10. If you do not choose to cash out within 24 hours of the move-to-live email, your accounts move to live automatically.

The 50% figure is ambiguous

Standard live accounts start at a $0 balance, so 50% of the starting balance would be $0. Traders discussing the cashout announcement on r/LucidProp in September 2026 read it as 50% of the starting live drawdown, for example $900 per 50K account after the split (Lucid brings back CASH OUT from LIVE). We use that reading below, but it is not confirmed by Lucid’s article. Check the amount in your move-to-live email before you choose.

Cashout per account if it equals 50% of the starting live drawdown (our reading, checked October 13, 2026)

100K$3,000$1,500$1,350$6,750
150K$4,500$2,250$2,025$10,125

Lucid’s standard live article does not say what happens to your accounts after a cashout. Its LucidMaxx article starts the 2-week cooldown “after blowing a live account or requesting full cashout”, and traders in the September thread reported the same 14-day cooldown and the loss of their funded accounts after a standard cashout. Assume you start again from a new evaluation.

How Many Lucid Live Accounts Can You Have?

Up to 5 active LucidLive accounts per household or family (Maximum Number of Accounts). You receive one live account per eligible funded account, and a funded account is eligible only if it has received at least one payout. The same page caps funded accounts at 5 per household, so 5 funded accounts with a payout each is the route to 5 live accounts.

Worked example: what moves live and what closes

  1. You hold 4 funded accounts and 2 evaluations. Three funded accounts have had at least one payout; the fourth has none and has 60% of its drawdown left.
  2. The risk team moves you live. The three paid-out accounts become three live accounts.
  3. The fourth funded account is closed and its evaluation cost is refunded, because it is ineligible and has at least 50% of its drawdown remaining.
  4. Both evaluations are closed. Lucid’s advice: “If you are not comfortable with evaluations being closed, do not keep evaluations in reserve.”

LucidMaxx has its own limit: up to 5 simultaneous LucidMaxx accounts. You may trade and reset existing LucidMaxx accounts alongside a live account, but you may not buy new LucidMaxx accounts while you hold an active live account (New LucidMaxx Program).

Traders on r/LucidProp plan around this rule. In a September 2026 thread (How many payouts before going live?) a trader asked how to get five funded accounts paid out before the move, and replies suggested copy trading to build five funded accounts and timing later payouts together. That is a community tactic, not Lucid guidance, and the move remains at Lucid’s discretion.

Moving Live From LucidDaily

LucidDaily works differently because it has no per-request payout cap. Instead, if you meet or exceed the maximum daily profit for your size ($6,000 on 25K, $8,000 on 50K, $10,000 on 100K, $12,000 on 150K) you are moved live automatically (LucidDaily Payouts). The LucidDaily Live article then sets these rules:

  • The buffer balance built in the funded account ($26,100 on 25K, $52,100 on 50K, $103,100 on 100K, $154,600 on 150K) funds the starting live drawdown and cannot be withdrawn.
  • Sim profit above the buffer can be paid out once your KYC with the broker partner is complete and the sub-accounts are approved, capped at $15,000 in total. The cap is the same whether you have one 25K account or five 150K accounts.
  • Traders are moved live every evening after the final session report at 6 PM ET. Accounts are paused and positions flattened, and Lucid uses your prior day’s closing balance; profit or loss from the session you are moved in does not count.
  • Live accounts then follow the same $0-start, EOD drawdown, no-DLL rules as other plans.

Worked example: a 50K LucidDaily moving live

Your 50K LucidDaily closed yesterday at $58,500 and today you hit the $8,000 maximum daily profit. You are moved live tonight using yesterday’s $58,500 close. The $52,100 buffer funds the live drawdown, and the $6,400 above it can be paid out after broker KYC, inside the $15,000 overall cap. Today’s profit is not counted.

Conflict: live bonus for LucidDaily traders

The LucidDaily Live article (“Updated over 3 months ago”) says “There is no live bonus” for traders moved live from LucidDaily. The newer New Live Structure (“Updated this week”) lists LucidDaily in its review triggers and says the repeatable bonus “may be earned on all accounts moved live”. The newer article is the current one, but ask support to confirm before counting on a bonus from a LucidDaily move.

Lucid Flex Live Account Rules and Other Legacy Live Structures

If you bought or reset a LucidFlex (Lucid Flex), LucidPro or LucidDirect account after February 27, 2026, the current New Live Structure above is your live account. The Lucid Flex live account rules are therefore the same as every other plan’s: Payout 5, then a $0-balance live account with the drawdown for your size.

Accounts purchased or reset on or before February 27, 2026 follow the older escrow model (LucidFlex Live (Legacy), LucidPro Live (Legacy), LucidDirect Live (Legacy)). Under it, your sim profit moves live up to a cap per account, part is deposited on day one, and the rest sits in escrow until you earn it back. LucidBlack, a legacy plan, uses the same model (LucidBlack Live).
