Lucid Direct Rules, Payout Rules and Straight-to-Funded Accounts

LucidDirect straight-to-funded rules, the 20% consistency rule, profit goals and max payouts for 25K to 150K accounts, checked against Lucid’s help centre on October 13, 2026.

Document-based research and editorial review. Last reviewed October 14, 2026 26 min read

Key takeaways

LucidDirect is Lucid Trading’s straight-to-funded futures account: you pay a one-time fee ($329, $515, $700 or $836 list for 25K, 50K, 100K or 150K) and start in a simulated funded account with no evaluation.

LucidDirect is Lucid Trading’s straight-to-funded futures account: you pay a one-time fee ($329, $515, $700 or $836 list for 25K, 50K, 100K or 150K) and start in a simulated funded account with no evaluation. The rules that matter are a 20% consistency rule (your best day can be no more than 20% of the profit in each payout cycle), a profit goal per cycle ($1,500, $3,000, $6,000 or $9,000 for the first payout, then $1,250, $2,500, $3,500 or $4,500), an end-of-day trailing max loss limit ($1,000, $2,000, $3,500 or $5,000) and a daily loss limit on every size except 25K. Payouts are $500 minimum, capped at $1,000 to $3,500 per request depending on size and payout number, split 90/10, and after the fifth payout the account enters Lucid’s live review pool. Checked against Lucid’s help centre on October 13, 2026.

This guide covers one Lucid plan only: LucidDirect, often searched as Lucid Direct or Lucid Trading Direct. It explains what the account is, every rule by account size, how the payout rules work in practice, what you can realistically withdraw over the account’s life, and what happens when you reach live trading. Every number was read from Lucid’s own help centre and pricing pages on October 13, 2026. Where Lucid’s own pages disagree with each other, or where a term depends on when you bought the account, we say so. Lucid changes its plans often, so treat this as a dated snapshot and open the linked source article before you buy or request a payout.

What Is LucidDirect?

Lucid describes LucidDirect as “a simulated straight-to-funded account which does not have an evaluation phase” (LucidDirect Funded Account). You buy the account, it is ready to trade within 5 to 15 minutes according to Lucid’s homepage FAQ, and from the first trade you are working toward a payout instead of a pass. The account is simulated: your trades do not reach the exchange, but approved payouts are paid in real money, and a trader who keeps performing can later be moved to a live brokerage account.

Lucid’s own homepage FAQ sums up the trade-off in one line: straight-to-funded means “Higher cost, trade for payouts immediately, stricter rules and longer payout delay”, while an evaluation is “Lower cost, prove consistency first, easier payout rules after passing” (Lucid homepage FAQ). The rest of this page puts numbers on that sentence.

Current terms vs legacy terms

Everything above describes LucidDirect accounts sold today. LucidDirect accounts bought or reset on or before February 27, 2026 follow the legacy live terms: a sixth payout, move-to-live caps and an escrow system (LucidDirect Live (Legacy)). They are covered in their own section below. Check your purchase date in the dashboard before applying any number on this page.

LucidDirect Drawdown and Max Loss Limit

LucidDirect uses an end-of-day (EOD) trailing drawdown to set the max loss limit (MLL) (LucidDirect Drawdown). At the end of each session the system takes your highest closing balance and keeps the MLL that distance below it. Intraday swings do not move the MLL; only closes do. Once a close goes above the initial trail balance, the MLL stops trailing and locks at the starting balance plus $100. If your balance touches the MLL, the account is breached.

  1. Day one, 50K account. The balance is $50,000 and the MLL sits $2,000 below it at $48,000.
  2. You close at $51,200. The MLL trails up to $49,200. A losing day afterwards does not pull it back down.
  3. You close at $52,300. That is above the $52,100 initial trail balance, so the MLL locks at $50,100 and never moves again.
  4. From then on the only way to breach is for the balance to fall to $50,100, wherever your highest close was.

Two details are easy to miss. First, the 100K and 150K LucidDirect accounts give more room than the same sizes on LucidPro and LucidFlex: $3,500 and $5,000 of drawdown against $3,000 and $4,500 (LucidPro evaluation article). Second, because the first profit goal on every size is larger than the trail distance, and the 20% consistency rule forces the profit to build over several sessions, the MLL has in practice already locked at start plus $100 by the time you can request your first payout. Every payout is then taken out of the room between your balance and that locked level, which the payout section below works through.

LucidDirect Daily Loss Limit and LucidScale

The daily loss limit (DLL) caps how much you can lose in one session. Lucid treats every DLL as a soft breach: hitting it locks you out until the next session, but you keep the account as long as the MLL was not reached (LucidDirect Daily Loss Limit).

  • 25K: no daily loss limit at all, before or after the trail.
  • 50K, 100K, 150K: a fixed DLL of $1,200, $2,100 or $3,000 until the account closes above the initial trail balance.
  • After the trail: the fixed DLL is replaced by the LucidScale DLL, calculated as highest end-of-day account profit × 60%.
  • It only grows: Lucid says the LucidScale DLL increases as the account grows and does not decrease if the account draws down.

Lucid’s two DLL wordings do not match

The LucidDirect Funded Account table and the pricing cards label the scaling DLL “60% of Peak EOD Balance”, while the Daily Loss Limit article gives the formula as highest end-of-day account profit × 60% and works an example on profit. Sixty percent of a balance would be a $31,000 daily limit on a 50K, so the profit reading is the one that makes sense, and it is the one we use. Lucid does not say whether the peak profit figure resets after a payout. Ask support before you size trades around the LucidScale number.

LucidDirect Consistency Rule: 20% per Payout Cycle

To request any LucidDirect payout, your largest single-day profit must be no more than 20% of your total profit in the payout cycle (LucidDirect Consistency Percentage). Lucid’s formula is Largest Single Day Profit ÷ Account Profit = Consistency Percentage. The rule resets after every payout, so it is checked fresh in each cycle, and it no longer applies once you are moved to a live account. It is the strictest consistency figure in Lucid’s current line-up: LucidPro funded uses 40% and LucidFlex funded has none.

Lucid’s own example: on a 50K account, a largest day of $500 against $3,000 of profit gives 16.7%, which passes. If the largest day had been $700, the same $3,000 would give 23.3%, and you would have to keep trading until total cycle profit reached $3,500.

The quickest way to use the rule is to turn it around: the cycle profit you need is your largest day multiplied by five.

Cycle profit needed to pass the 20% rule for a given best day (Lucid formula, checked October 13, 2026)
Largest single day in the cycleMinimum cycle profit to pass 20%
$300$1,500
$500$2,500
$600$3,000
$750$3,750
$1,000$5,000
$1,200$6,000
$1,500$7,500
$1,800$9,000
$2,000$10,000
$3,000$15,000

Combine that with the profit goal and you get the real target for each cycle, which is whichever of the two is higher. Above a certain size of day, the consistency rule rather than the profit goal decides how much you must make:

Best day above which the 20% rule, not the profit goal, sets your target (derived from Lucid’s goals and formula, checked October 13, 2026)
AccountProfit goal, payout 1Best day that still fits payout 1Profit goal, payout 2+Best day that still fits payout 2+
25K$1,500$300$1,250$250
50K$3,000$600$2,500$500
100K$6,000$1,200$3,500$700
150K$9,000$1,800$4,500$900

Example on a 50K first cycle: you make $3,000 across the cycle, but one day was $1,000. The profit goal is met, yet $1,000 ÷ $3,000 is 33%, so you need $5,000 of cycle profit before you can request. A single big day can therefore add $2,000 of extra required profit, and because losing days reduce total profit, they push the target further out too.

The 20% rule means at least five winning days

If no single day can be more than one fifth of the cycle profit, you cannot reach the total in fewer than five profitable days, and any losing day in between adds to that. Lucid’s pricing cards list “Min Day to Payout: 5” for every LucidDirect size, which matches this arithmetic. The Payout Objectives article itself does not list a minimum-day rule and says you may request “any day after meeting all eligibility criteria”, so plan for five or more profitable days per cycle either way.

LucidDirect Payout Rules

Lucid’s LucidDirect Payout Objectives article lists what you must meet in every cycle. All conditions reset after each approved payout.

  1. No rule violations. No breaches of the trading rules, the Terms and Conditions or the LucidDirect Account Agreement.
  2. Pass the 20% consistency rule for the current cycle.
  3. Reach the cycle’s profit goal. The goal resets to $0 after each approved payout.
  4. Request between $500 and the cap for your account size and payout number.
  5. Stay above the goal until the payout is processed. Lucid warns that a trade taken before processing that drops you below the profit goal can get the request denied.
  6. Submit carefully. Payout requests are final once submitted and cannot be edited or cancelled.

150K$9,000$4,500$3,000$3,500$500

There is no fixed payout window: once every condition is met, you can request on any day. All funded LucidDirect payouts are split 90% to you and 10% to Lucid. The split does not change with later payouts on current accounts.

“No simulated payout caps” vs the payout maximums

The LucidDirect Funded Account article lists “No simulated payout caps” as a benefit, while the Payout Objectives article sets a maximum for every request. The payout article is the specific one, so we treat the per-request maximums above as binding. Combined with the five-payout limit before live review, they also cap what one account can pay in simulation.

LucidDirect Max Payout and Payout Rules by Account Size

Here is what the first payout looks like on each size if you earn exactly the profit goal and request the maximum. “Room left” is how far the balance sits above the locked MLL after the payout leaves the account.

LucidDirect 25K payout rules

The first payout needs $1,500 of cycle profit and at most 20% of it from one day, so no day above $300 if you want the goal alone to be enough. Requests run from $500 to $1,000 for payouts 1 to 3 and up to $1,000 for payouts 4 and 5. Later cycles need $1,250 each. After a maximum first payout at exactly the goal, the balance is $25,500 against a locked MLL of $25,100: $400 of room. The 25K is the only LucidDirect size with no daily loss limit, which matters here: nothing stops one bad session from using the whole cushion.

LucidDirect 50K payout rules

The first payout needs $3,000 of cycle profit and at most 20% of it from one day, so no day above $600 if you want the goal alone to be enough. Requests run from $500 to $2,000 for payouts 1 to 3 and up to $2,500 for payouts 4 and 5. Later cycles need $2,500 each. After a maximum first payout at exactly the goal, the balance is $51,000 against a locked MLL of $50,100: $900 of room. A 50K trader who wants more room can simply request less than the maximum: a $1,000 request leaves $1,900 above the MLL instead of $900.

LucidDirect 100K payout rules

The first payout needs $6,000 of cycle profit and at most 20% of it from one day, so no day above $1,200 if you want the goal alone to be enough. Requests run from $500 to $2,500 for payouts 1 to 3 and up to $3,000 for payouts 4 and 5. Later cycles need $3,500 each. After a maximum first payout at exactly the goal, the balance is $103,500 against a locked MLL of $100,100: $3,400 of room. The 100K’s $3,500 drawdown is the main reason it leaves more room than the 50K after a maximum first payout.

LucidDirect 150K payout rules

The first payout needs $9,000 of cycle profit and at most 20% of it from one day, so no day above $1,800 if you want the goal alone to be enough. Requests run from $500 to $3,000 for payouts 1 to 3 and up to $3,500 for payouts 4 and 5. Later cycles need $4,500 each. After a maximum first payout at exactly the goal, the balance is $156,000 against a locked MLL of $150,100: $5,900 of room. On the 150K, the first profit goal of $9,000 is three times the $3,000 first-payout cap, so most of the first cycle’s profit stays in the account as cushion.

How the cushion builds over five payouts

Because later profit goals are equal to or larger than the caps, the cushion above the locked MLL grows a little each cycle if you keep taking the maximum. The table assumes you earn exactly the profit goal each cycle and withdraw the maximum each time.

How Much Can One LucidDirect Account Pay Before Live Review?

Five maximum payouts set a ceiling on what one account can return in simulation. The table adds up the maximum requests, applies the 90/10 split, and shows the minimum profit you must generate to unlock them, next to the price you pay.

LucidDirect lifetime simulated payout ceiling per account (our arithmetic on Lucid’s figures, checked October 13, 2026)
AccountFive max requestsYour 90%Minimum profit neededProfit left in accountList pricePrice with VAULT code
25K$5,000$4,500$6,500$1,500$329$230.30
50K$11,000$9,900$13,000$2,000$515$360.50
100K$13,500$12,150$20,000$6,500$700$490
150K$16,000$14,400$27,000$11,000$836$585.20

Two things follow. First, the profit you leave in the account is not lost: it is the cushion that keeps the account alive, and the payout history is what puts you into the live review pool. Second, the 90/10 figure assumes the split is applied to the requested amount; Lucid’s article says only that payouts are split 90/10, so confirm the exact deduction on your first payout statement. Prices are the published list prices and the 30% VAULT code advertised on Lucid’s homepage, read from Lucid’s public pages on October 13, 2026; not verified by purchase.

LucidDirect Payout Timing and Methods

Once a payout is approved, Lucid says the funds leave the account within a few minutes and are disbursed to your payout method within 2 business days (LucidDirect Payout Objectives). The homepage advertises “15ish min from request to bank”, and the General FAQ says payouts typically arrive “within 5-15 minutes for Plaid, or up to 2 business days if international” (Lucid General FAQ). Treat the 2-business-day figure as the commitment and the faster times as typical, not guaranteed.

You can request payouts from the Lucid Trading mobile app as well as the web dashboard. The Android app showed 4.7 stars from 90 reviews and 10K+ downloads, last updated October 9, 2026, when we read the listing on October 13, 2026 (Lucid Trading app on Google Play). Identity checks happen at payout when the payout provider requires them, and accounts registered as a business must be paid out as a business after Lucid verifies the company documents.

What Happens After Your Fifth LucidDirect Payout

Payout 5 is the last simulated payout on a current LucidDirect account. Under Lucid’s New Live Structure, traders enter the live review pool when they receive the final payout (Payout 5) on a Flex, Pro or Direct plan, after a large lifetime payout total, after exceptional sim-funded performance, or if they were moved live before. Lucid states that Payout 5 is the maximum payout level, not a guaranteed ticket: all live transitions are at the risk team’s discretion.

  • One live account per eligible funded account. Each funded account must have received at least one payout to qualify.
  • Live accounts start at a $0 balance with daily payouts, an end-of-day drawdown and no daily loss limit.
  • No consistency rule live. The 20% rule stops applying once you are promoted.
  • Every sim account closes. When you move live, all simulated accounts are closed, and nobody else in your household may trade sim while you are live.
  • Cashout option. Lucid offers a cashout equal to 50% of your live starting balance, split 90/10, if you do not want to trade live. You must choose within 24 hours of the move-to-live email or the accounts move live automatically.
  • Two-week cooldown before you can buy a new account after blowing a live account, longer for repeated reckless trading.

150K$4,50010 minis or 100 micros$9,00020$4,500

The Live Bonus is repeatable and subject to the 90/10 split. Lucid’s example: five 50K accounts moved live, each hits the $4,000 live profit target and completes 20 trading days, and the trader receives $9,000 in total after the split. A trading day here means at least one trade with a net result of +$1 or -$1 after fees.

A wording gap to ask about

The same article says live accounts start at a $0 balance and that the cashout equals 50% of the live starting balance. Lucid does not explain how that starting balance is calculated for a trader coming from LucidDirect. Ask support for your figure in writing before the 24-hour cashout window starts.

Legacy LucidDirect Accounts (Bought or Reset on or Before February 27, 2026)

Older LucidDirect accounts follow a different live path (LucidDirect Live (Legacy)). These traders move live after their sixth and final payout, or earlier at the risk team’s discretion, and their simulated profit converts into live capital up to a cap per account.

Legacy LucidDirect move-to-live caps (LucidDirect Live (Legacy), checked October 13, 2026)
AccountMax moved live per accountDeposited on day 1Held in escrow
25K$4,000$1,200$2,800
50K$8,000$2,400$5,600
150K$16,000$4,800$11,200
  • Profit above the cap is forfeited at the move to live. Lucid’s example: five 50K accounts with $10,000 each move $8,000 each, so $2,000 per account is lost.
  • Escrow starts releasing only after 10 profitable live days and $10,000 of live profit, then $5,000 for every further $10,000 earned, reviewed weekly.
  • Released escrow can be withdrawn only 60 days after the live account opens; reckless trading makes escrow ineligible for release.
  • LucidDirect accounts bought from January 18, 2026 at 3 PM EST were not eligible for the Live Bonus under these legacy terms.
  • Traders mid-onboarding on January 18 or with a move-to-live email dated January 31, 2026 or earlier could choose an older structure with caps of $2,500 (25K), $5,000 (50K) and $15,000 (150K).

The legacy article has no 100K row, which fits the 100K LucidDirect size being newer than those cohorts. If you hold a legacy account and are unsure which live terms apply, ask support to confirm your cohort in writing.
