Lucid Trading Rules: Every Plan, Trading Hours, News and Account Limits
Review the documented rules, source notes, tools, and account checks recorded for Lucid Trading Rules: Every Plan, Trading Hours, News and Account Limits.
Rules can change: The firm or platform controls the current wording. Confirm the linked source and your dashboard before you trade or request a payout.
Lucid Trading rules in one place, checked October 13, 2026. Every Lucid futures account must be flat by 4:45 PM ET on weekdays. Hedging, microscalping and high-frequency trading are banned. News trading is allowed on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect but is a hard breach on LucidDaily. You can hold up to 5 funded accounts and 10 accounts in total per household, and an account with no trading for 30 days is deleted. The plan picker and the tables below separate what applies to all accounts from what changes by plan, size and purchase date.

What can trip you up
Rules To Inspect First
These are the rules most likely to cost a Lucid trader an account or a payout. The labels say why each one matters. They are not a recommendation for or against any plan.
Hard breaches end the account
Touching the Max Loss Limit breaches any Lucid account. On LucidDaily, holding a position through high-impact USD news (1 minute before to 1 minute after) is also a hard breach.
Soft limits only pause you
Every Lucid Daily Loss Limit is a soft breach: you are locked out until the next session. The 4:45 PM auto-close is not a failure either. Neither one protects you from the Max Loss Limit.
Consistency gates differ by plan
50% in LucidFlex and LucidDaily evaluations, 40% for LucidPro funded payouts, 20% for LucidDirect payouts, and none in LucidFlex or LucidDaily funded accounts.
Lucid Trading Rules That Apply to Every Account
These rules come from Lucid’s firm-wide help articles, its General FAQ and its Terms of Use. Use the filter to show one group at a time. Each row names its source and the date we read it.
| Rule area | Official-source snapshot | What to verify + evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Trading hours flat by 4:45 PM ET | On LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect, all positions must be closed by 4:45 PM EST, Monday to Friday. Lucid closes anything still open at 4:45 PM, and this does not fail the account. Trading resumes at 6:00 PM EST, Sunday to Thursday. On holidays with early closes, you must be flat before the market closes. | The trading-times article does not name LucidDaily. Its funded accounts follow the same simulated setup, but confirm the cut-off in your dashboard. Lucid writes the times as “EST”; read them as New York time. Source: Lucid help centre, Allowed Trading Times, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URL |
| Overnight and weekend holding not on sim accounts | The General FAQ says overnight holding is not permitted on simulated accounts (Pro, Flex, Direct) because of the daily maintenance window. Because every account must be flat by 4:45 PM each weekday, positions cannot be carried into the weekend either. | The FAQ says LucidLive accounts “may hold positions overnight”, but the newer trading-times article says swing trading is not allowed in the new LucidLive accounts. The product article is more specific, so plan on being flat each day in live accounts too. Source: Lucid General FAQ and Allowed Trading Times, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URLs |
| News trading banned on LucidDaily only | News trading is allowed on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect. On LucidDaily, trading high-impact USD (“red folder”) news is a hard breach: you must be flat from 1 minute before to 1 minute after the release. | Lucid warns that news can trigger slippage and “velocity logic” on fills and that traders carry the outcome. Check the economic calendar each morning if you trade LucidDaily. Source: Lucid help centre, Other Trading Activities and LucidDaily Funded Account, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URLs |
| Hedging prohibited | Lucid prohibits all hedging: opposite positions across your own accounts, across different users, across different firms, and correlated assets across accounts (for example, long ES in one account and short NQ in another). A flagged account is reset to the prior day’s balance without restoring drawdown. Repeat offences breach all involved accounts and can lead to a permanent ban. | Long a mini and short the micro of the same contract is allowed only inside one account. The FAQ adds that copier mishaps that create opposite positions on live accounts count as hedging. Source: Lucid help centre, Prohibited: Hedging, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URL |
| Microscalping 50% of profit / 5 seconds | An account is flagged if more than 50% of its profit comes from trades held 5 seconds or less. Lucid then reviews it manually. Confirmed bad faith gets a written warning. If it continues, the microscalping profits are forfeited and you can be banned. Appeals are allowed. | Genuine scalping is allowed. The test is profit share, not trade count: many quick losers do not trip it, but a few large 3-second winners can. Source: Lucid help centre, Prohibited: Microscalping, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URL |
| High-frequency trading prohibited | HFT (a high volume of orders in seconds or milliseconds) is detected automatically. First offence: written warning. Repeat offences: HFT profits removed, accounts closed, permanent restriction. Appeals are allowed. | Lucid publishes no order-count threshold. If you run an automated strategy, keep its order rate modest and log it in case you need to appeal. Source: Lucid help centre, Prohibited: High Frequency Trading, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URL |
| Exploiting the simulation terms violation | The Terms of Use ban exploiting price-display errors or update delays, spoofing, trades “outside the best bid or offer”, trading on an external or slow data feed, coordinated trading with other users or connected accounts, “circumventing geographical restrictions” and “trading on behalf of others”. | Using a VPN to get around the country list, or letting someone else trade your account, falls under these clauses. Lucid decides violations “in its sole discretion”. Source: Lucid Terms of Use and Trade with Integrity, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URLs |
| Copy trading and bots allowed | Automated strategies and in-platform or third-party trade copiers are allowed. All automated activity must follow Lucid’s rules, and the trader is responsible for software errors and unintended outcomes. | Lucid publishes a setup guide for the Rithmic Trader Pro copier but offers no technical support for it. Its refund policy rules out compensation for copier failures. A copier must never open opposite positions across accounts. Source: Other Trading Activities, General FAQ and the Rithmic Trade Copier Guide, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URLs |
| Scaling in, DCA and flipping allowed | Scaling into positions and dollar-cost averaging are allowed, with no limit on entry methods. Martingale (adding to losers to recover) is “strongly discouraged”. Flipping (a quick in-and-out trade to count a trading day) is allowed. | Flipping to qualify for the LucidLive bonus’s 20 trading days “may lead to further review”, per the New Live Structure article. Source: Lucid help centre, Other Trading Activities, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URL |
| Maximum accounts per household | Up to 10 active evaluations, up to 5 active funded accounts (all funded types combined) and 10 accounts in total per household or family. You may keep 5 evaluations in reserve while holding 5 funded accounts. Up to 5 LucidLive accounts. | The limit is per household, not per person. If one household member trades live, the others may not trade simulated accounts. Source: Lucid help centre, Maximum Number of Accounts and New Live Structure, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URLs |
| Inactivity 30 calendar days | An account that has not produced at least $1 of net profit or loss in 30 calendar days is treated as abandoned and permanently deleted. Breached evaluations are deleted 30 days after the breach unless you buy a reset first. | Deletion cannot be undone. One small round-trip trade inside each 30-day window keeps an account active. Source: Lucid help centre, Inactivity Policy, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URL |
| Restricted countries citizens and residents | Citizens or residents of the countries on Lucid’s list may not use its services. The list includes Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Pakistan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Nigeria, South Africa, Indonesia and several EU members (Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovenia), plus Iceland. The full list is in the restricted-countries section below. | The rule covers citizenship as well as residence, so a citizen of a listed country who lives elsewhere is still excluded. Source: Lucid help centre, Restricted Countries, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URL |
| One profile per trader permanent | A trader may only ever have one Lucid profile, personal or business. Profiles cannot be converted, deactivated or replaced. Business profiles must be paid out to the business after verification (incorporation, ownership and photo ID for every 25%+ owner). | The Terms of Use add that, unless expressly authorised, you are restricted to one account, and that a violation can mean termination of all linked accounts. Source: Lucid help centre, Registering as a Business, and Terms of Use, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URLs |
| Instruments 31 CME Group futures | Lucid lists 31 approved futures: equity indices, currencies, energy, metals and agriculture on CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX. Commissions run from $0.50 per side (micros) to $2.80 per side (grains, livestock). Lucid offers futures only, with no crypto products. | The full symbol and commission table is in the instruments section below. Contracts not on the list cannot be traded. Source: Lucid help centre, Approved Products and Commissions, and General FAQ, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URL |
| Activation fee none | No activation fee to move from a passed evaluation to the funded account, and no monthly subscription. Evaluations are one-time purchases with no automatic rebilling. | The pricing cards repeat “Account Activation Fee: FREE”. Funded accounts usually go live 5 to 30 minutes after you hit the target. Source: Simulated Account Fees and lucidtrading.com pricing cards, checked October 13, 2026. Full source URLs |
| Resets evaluations only | A failed evaluation can be reset from the dashboard to its starting balance and limits. Resets are paid, not automatic and not free. Funded accounts cannot be reset, and LucidDirect has no reset product. | Reset prices by plan and size are in the fees section below. Lucid’s pricing setup shows that the site-wide promo code does not discount resets. Source: Simulated Account Fees, General FAQ and lucidtrading.com pricing configuration, checked October 13, 2026. | Refunds and chargebacks no refund once traded | Lucid has a “strict no refund policy” for any account that has been traded, whatever the result or technical issue. It may consider refunds for accounts that were never traded, at its discretion. A fraudulent or improper chargeback means a permanent ban. | One exception sits in the live rules: when you move live, a funded account that cannot go live gets its evaluation cost refunded, if at least 50% of its drawdown remains. Lucid Trading Eval Rules
The evaluation is Lucid’s test phase (some traders call it the challenge). LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDaily evaluations share the same targets, loss limits and contract sizes. They differ on consistency, drawdown type and the Daily Loss Limit option. Each is a one-time fee with no time limit and no monthly rebill, and an evaluation that hits its target upgrades to funded within 5 to 30 minutes.
| Size | Profit target | Max Loss Limit | DLL if switched on | Max size | Largest day allowed at exactly the target (50% plans) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $1,250 | $1,000 | $600 | 2 minis / 20 micros | $625 |
| $50,000 | $3,000 | $2,000 | $1,200 | 4 minis / 40 micros | $1,500 |
| $100,000 | $6,000 | $3,000 | $1,800 | 6 minis / 60 micros | $3,000 |
| $150,000 | $9,000 | $4,500 | $2,700 | 10 minis / 100 micros | $4,500 |
- Minimum trading days: no fixed minimum in any current evaluation. LucidPro can be passed in one day. LucidFlex and LucidDaily need at least two days in practice because of the 50% consistency rule. Lucid builds in a small cushion (for a 50K account, a best day of $1,560 still passes at a $3,000 target).
- No scaling plan in any evaluation: the full contract size is available from the first trade.
- The Daily Loss Limit setting is locked: DLL on or off (and, for LucidDaily, end-of-day or intraday evaluation drawdown) is chosen at checkout and cannot be changed for that account.
- LucidDaily intraday option: with intraday drawdown, the loss limit follows your open P&L in real time. A trade that runs up and then reverses can breach the account even if it closes green for the day.
Lucid Trading Funded Rules
Funded accounts are still simulated. You build simulated profit, take payouts, and may later be moved to a live brokerage account. The main funded-stage rules are drawdown locking, the LucidScale Daily Loss Limit and, on LucidFlex, the scaling plan.
Lucid Trading drawdown: where the Max Loss Limit locks
Every Lucid funded account trails its Max Loss Limit up with your best balance (end of day on Flex, Pro and Direct; intraday on LucidDaily funded) until the balance passes the initial trail balance. After that, the limit locks at the starting balance plus $100 and never moves again.
| Size | Flex / Pro / Daily MLL | Initial trail balance | Locked MLL | LucidDirect MLL | LucidDirect trail balance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $1,000 | $26,100 | $25,100 | $1,000 | $26,100 |
| $50,000 | $2,000 | $52,100 | $50,100 | $2,000 | $52,100 |
| $100,000 | $3,000 | $103,100 | $100,100 | $3,500 | $103,600 |
| $150,000 | $4,500 | $154,600 | $150,100 | $5,000 | $155,100 |
Worked example (50K LucidPro funded). You start at $50,000 with the limit at $48,000. You close day one at $51,000, so the limit rises to $49,000. You close day two at $52,300, above the $52,100 trail balance, so the limit locks at $50,100. From then on you can give back just under $2,200 from $52,300 before a breach, and the limit stays at $50,100 however high the balance goes. On LucidFlex, the limit also jumps straight to the locked level the moment you request a payout.
LucidScale Daily Loss Limit
On LucidPro and LucidDirect funded accounts with a DLL, the fixed DLL applies until the account closes above its initial trail balance. Then it switches to LucidScale: 60% of your highest end-of-day profit. A best close of $4,000 profit gives a $2,400 DLL. LucidScale rises with new highs and never falls. Hitting any Lucid DLL only stops trading until the next session. On LucidDaily the DLL stays fixed all session, so once the trailing Max Loss Limit rises above it, the Max Loss Limit becomes the binding (hard) limit.
Lucid Trading scaling plan (LucidFlex funded)
LucidFlex is the only current plan with a funded scaling plan. Your contract limit is set from your simulated profit at the end of each session, not in real time. A payout lowers your profit, so your tier can drop after a payout. Trying to get around the limits can see the day’s profit wiped.
| Simulated profit | $25K | $50K | $100K | $150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $0 – $999 | 1 mini / 10 micros | 2 / 20 | 3 / 30 | 4 / 40 |
| $1,000 – $1,999 | 2 / 20 (max) | 3 / 30 | 4 / 40 | 5 / 50 |
| $2,000 – $2,999 | – | 4 / 40 (max) | 5 / 50 | 6 / 60 |
| $3,000 – $4,499 | – | – | 6 / 60 (max) | 8 / 80 |
| $4,500+ | – | – | – | 10 / 100 (max) |
Lucid Trading Consistency Rule
Lucid’s formula is the same everywhere: largest single-day profit ÷ total profit = consistency percentage. What changes is the limit and the stage it applies to. In funded accounts it is measured per payout cycle and resets after each approved payout. It never applies once you are live.
| Plan | Evaluation | Funded (per payout cycle) | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| LucidFlex | 50% | None | Current |
| LucidPro | None | 40% (35% if bought or reset before 11/28/2025, 3 PM ET) | Current |
| LucidDaily | 50% | None | Current |
| LucidDirect | No evaluation | 20% | Current |
| LucidBlack | 60% | 40% | Legacy |
| LucidMaxx (invite only) | 40% in Step 1, none in Step 2 | n/a (goes live) | Current, invite only |
How to fix a failing ratio: divide your largest day by the limit to get the total profit you need. A 50K LucidFlex evaluation with a $1,800 best day needs $3,600 of total profit (1,800 ÷ 0.50), not the $3,000 target. A 50K LucidDirect cycle with an $800 best day needs $4,000 of profit (800 ÷ 0.20) before a payout request, even though the first profit goal is $3,000.
