Lucid Trading’s consistency rule compares your biggest single-day profit with your total profit: largest day divided by total profit must stay at or under the plan’s limit. In the current plans it applies to the LucidFlex and LucidDaily evaluations (50%, with a small cushion), to LucidPro funded payouts (40% per payout cycle, or 35% for accounts bought or reset before November 28, 2025) and to LucidDirect funded payouts (20% per payout cycle). The LucidPro evaluation, LucidFlex and LucidDaily funded accounts, and all live accounts have no consistency rule. Breaking the ratio does not fail the account; it raises the total profit you need, which equals your largest day divided by the limit. Checked against Lucid’s help centre on October 13, 2026.
This page covers one rule across every Lucid plan: what the consistency percentage is, which accounts it applies to, how it changes your real profit target, and how to work out your own numbers. The tables below act as a Lucid consistency calculator for each account size. Every rule was read from Lucid’s own help centre and website on October 13, 2026. Lucid changes its plans often, and the right threshold depends on your plan, your stage (evaluation or funded) and, for LucidPro, the date you bought or reset the account, so check the linked source article before you trade around a number.
The Lucid Consistency Rule in One Formula
Lucid uses the same formula in every plan’s consistency article (for example LucidFlex Consistency Percentage and LucidPro Consistency Percentage):
Largest single-day profit ÷ account profit = consistency percentage
You meet the rule when the result is at or below your plan’s limit. Turned around, the total profit you need is: largest single-day profit ÷ limit. With a 50% limit that is twice your best day; with 40% it is 2.5 times; with 20% it is 5 times.
Three details decide how the formula works in practice:
- The window. In an evaluation, account profit is everything you have made since the account started. In a funded account with a consistency rule (LucidPro, LucidDirect, LucidBlack), the window is the current payout cycle, and the percentage resets after every approved payout.
- Net profit, not gross wins. The bottom of the fraction is your account profit, so a losing day shrinks it and pushes your percentage up, even though your best day did not change.
- It is a gate, not a breach. Lucid’s articles say that if your largest day is too big, you “would need to continue trading” until it falls within the limit. You do not lose the account; you just cannot upgrade or request a payout yet.
Lucid’s own examples: on a 50K LucidPro funded account, a $1,000 best day with $4,000 of account profit is 25%, inside the 40% limit (LucidPro Consistency Percentage). On a 50K LucidDirect account, $500 out of $3,000 is 16.7%, inside the 20% limit (LucidDirect Consistency Percentage).
Lucid Consistency Rule by Plan: Evaluation, Funded and Live
Lucid sells four plans today (LucidFlex, LucidPro, LucidDaily and LucidDirect). LucidBlack is a legacy plan that still has its own help articles, and LucidMaxx is an invite-only program. This table shows where the consistency percentage applies in each one.
| Plan | Status | Evaluation | Funded (sim) | Live | Resets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LucidFlex | Current | 50% or less, small cushion | None | None | Not applicable |
| LucidPro | Current | None (one-day pass) | 40% per payout cycle; 35% if bought or reset before Nov 28, 2025, 3:00 PM EST | None | After each payout |
| LucidDaily | Current | 50% or less, small cushion | None (daily payouts; a maximum daily profit applies instead) | None | Not applicable |
| LucidDirect | Current | No evaluation | 20% per payout cycle | None | After each payout |
| LucidBlack | Legacy | 60% or less | 40% per payout cycle | Not listed | After each payout |
| LucidMaxx (new program) | Invite only | Step 1: 40% | Step 2 (pre-live): none | Not listed | Not stated |
| LucidMaxx (legacy) | Legacy, invite only | 40%, plus 5 trading days | None: passing moves you straight to live | Not listed | Not stated |
Sources: LucidFlex Consistency Percentage, LucidFlex Funded Account, LucidPro Consistency Percentage, Lucid’s About Us page (“One-day pass, no consistency rules with LucidPro”), LucidDaily Consistency, LucidDaily Funded Account, LucidDirect Consistency Percentage, LucidBlack Consistency Percentage, New LucidMaxx Program, Legacy LucidMaxx Eval Rules and New Live Structure. The New Live Structure article says consistency rules no longer apply once you are live “regardless of your account type (LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDirect, LucidDaily)”. The LucidBlack and LucidMaxx live articles do not list one either.
How Many Winning Days Each Limit Forces
A consistency limit sets a floor on the number of profitable days you need, because no single day can carry more than the limit’s share. If every winning day were exactly the same size, the minimum is 1 divided by the limit, rounded up. In real trading days are uneven, so expect more.
| Limit | Where Lucid uses it | Minimum equal winning days | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60% | LucidBlack evaluation (legacy) | 2 | $600 max day per $1,000 of profit |
| 50% | LucidFlex and LucidDaily evaluations | 2 | $500 max day per $1,000 of profit |
| 40% | LucidPro funded, LucidBlack funded, LucidMaxx Step 1 | 3 | $400 max day per $1,000 of profit |
| 35% | LucidPro funded, older cohort | 3 | $350 max day per $1,000 of profit |
| 20% | LucidDirect funded | 5 | $200 max day per $1,000 of profit |
These floors match what Lucid prints on its plan cards (Lucid Trading homepage plan cards, read October 13, 2026): LucidPro shows “3 days to payout” (40% needs at least 3 days) and LucidDirect shows “Min Day to Payout 5” (20% needs at least 5). LucidFlex and LucidDaily show “2-day pass” for the 50% evaluations, and LucidMaxx’s Step 1 says 40% results in “a potential 3 day pass” (New LucidMaxx Program).
LucidFlex Consistency Rule: 50% in the Evaluation, None When Funded
In the LucidFlex evaluation your largest day must be 50% or less of your account profit before you can upgrade (LucidFlex Consistency Percentage). The profit target is $1,250 (25K), $3,000 (50K), $6,000 (100K) or $9,000 (150K) (LucidFlex Evaluation Account). Hitting the target with too big a best day does not pass you: you keep trading until both the target and the 50% ratio are met. Once you pass, the upgrade happens within 5 to 30 minutes and there is no activation fee.
| Account | Profit target | 50% of target | Lucid’s cushion example | Two-day pass using the cushion |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,250 | $625 | $650 | $650 + $600 |
| 50K | $3,000 | $1,500 | $1,560 | $1,560 + $1,440 |
| 100K | $6,000 | $3,000 | $3,120 | $3,120 + $2,880 |
| 150K | $9,000 | $4,500 | $4,680 | $4,680 + $4,320 |
The consistency cushion
Lucid says the 50% rule has “a small cushion” so a trader can pass in two days. Its example table allows a best day of $650 on 25K, $1,560 on 50K, $3,120 on 100K and $4,680 on 150K when you finish exactly on target, which works out to 52% of the target. Lucid also says the cushion “is NOT a fixed dollar amount”: it is a percentage based on what you actually earned on your biggest day, and the table is “merely an example”. Lucid does not publish the exact cushion formula, so treat it as a margin for error rather than a level to aim at. Plan your days to 50% and the cushion only matters if a trade runs slightly further than you intended.
Why the target on your dashboard goes up
If one day is bigger than half the target, the total you need becomes that day times two. Example on a 50K LucidFlex evaluation: you make $2,000 on day one. $2,000 ÷ 50% = $4,000, so instead of finishing at $53,000 you now need a $54,000 balance, and every later day must be no bigger than $2,000 or the bar rises again. Several Reddit threads describe this as “my profit target increased”; one 50K evaluation thread showed the target moving from $53,000 to $55,594 after a big day, which is what a best day of $2,797 produces under a 50% limit.
| Best single day | Total profit needed | Balance needed | Extra profit vs the $3,000 target |
|---|---|---|---|
| $1,200 | $3,000 | $53,000 | $0 |
| $1,500 | $3,000 | $53,000 | $0 |
| $1,800 | $3,600 | $53,600 | $600 |
| $2,000 | $4,000 | $54,000 | $1,000 |
| $2,500 | $5,000 | $55,000 | $2,000 |
| $3,000 | $6,000 | $56,000 | $3,000 |
LucidFlex funded accounts: no consistency rule
Lucid’s funded article says it plainly: “There is no Consistency Percentage on LucidFlex funded accounts” (LucidFlex Funded Account). Payout eligibility instead depends on two things in each cycle (LucidFlex Payouts): at least the minimum daily profit on 5 separate days ($100 on 25K, $150 on 50K, $200 on 100K, $250 on 150K) and positive net profit for the cycle. That makes one big day harmless for payouts, but it does not let you withdraw all of it. Each request is at least $500 and at most 50% of profit, capped at $1,000 (25K), $2,000 (50K), $2,500 (100K) or $3,000 (150K), and the caps do not rise with later payouts.
The 50% in the LucidFlex payout rule (you may request up to 50% of profit, to the cap) is often confused with the 50% evaluation consistency rule. They are separate. The payout cap limits how much you withdraw; it never blocks you from being eligible. If your funded Flex dashboard seems to show a consistency figure, check that the account is not still an evaluation and ask Lucid support before you change how you trade.
For the rest of the LucidFlex rules (drawdown, scaling plan, daily loss limit and the move to live), see our LucidFlex rules and payouts guide.
LucidPro Consistency Rule: 40% per Payout Cycle
The LucidPro evaluation has no consistency rule: Lucid advertises a one-day pass (LucidPro Evaluation Account, About Us). The rule starts in the funded account, where your largest single day must be no more than 40% of your total profit during the payout cycle, and it resets after each payout (LucidPro Payouts). It sits alongside two other cycle requirements:
- Minimum profit goal per cycle: $250 (25K), $500 (50K), $750 (100K), $1,000 (150K).
- Profit over the buffer: the balance must be above the buffer, which equals the initial max loss limit plus $100: $26,100, $52,100, $103,100 or $154,600. You cannot withdraw the buffer.
- Request size: $500 minimum; maximum $1,000 / $2,000 / $2,500 / $3,000 on payout 1 and $1,500 / $2,500 / $3,000 / $3,500 on payout 2 and later.
Lucid raised the LucidPro funded consistency from 35% to 40% for accounts purchased or reset on or after November 28, 2025 at 3:00 PM EST. Accounts purchased or reset before that time stay on 35% (LucidPro Consistency Percentage). On 35%, the total you need is your best day divided by 0.35, about 2.86 times your best day.
The useful number is how much profit a cycle needs for a maximum payout, and therefore how big your best day can be. For payout 1, you need the buffer plus the request: Lucid lists the minimum balance for the maximum first payout as $27,100, $54,100, $105,600 and $157,600. For payout 2 and later, the table assumes your previous request took the balance back down to the buffer, so the whole maximum request has to be earned again inside the new cycle.
| Account | Max payout 1 | Profit needed | Top day at 40% | Max payout 2+ | Profit needed | Top day at 40% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,000 | $2,100 | $840 | $1,500 | $1,500 | $600 |
| 50K | $2,000 | $4,100 | $1,640 | $2,500 | $2,500 | $1,000 |
| 100K | $2,500 | $5,600 | $2,240 | $3,000 | $3,000 | $1,200 |
| 150K | $3,000 | $7,600 | $3,040 | $3,500 | $3,500 | $1,400 |
Read the 50K row as: to take the full $2,000 first payout you need $4,100 of profit in the cycle, and no day can be bigger than $1,640. On payout 2, the full $2,500 needs $2,500 of new profit with no day above $1,000. If you leave money above the buffer after a payout, the next cycle needs less new profit, but the 40% is still measured on the profit made in that cycle.
Worked LucidPro examples (50K, first payout)
| Scenario | Daily P&L | Profit | Top day | Ratio | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steady | +$900, +$1,200, −$400, +$1,100, +$1,300 | $4,100 | $1,300 | 31.7% | Eligible for the full $2,000 |
| One big day | +$2,000, +$800, +$1,300 | $4,100 | $2,000 | 48.8% | Needs $900 more |
In the steady cycle the balance reaches $54,100, the minimum for the full $2,000 first payout, and no day is above 40%. In the second cycle the same $4,100 arrives with a $2,000 day, so the cycle needs $5,000 of profit: $900 more, earned on days no bigger than $2,000.
Lucid’s wording is slightly inconsistent at the exact line: the payout article says “no more than 40%”, while the consistency article says to keep trading “until your largest day is below 40%”. Leave a few dollars of room rather than requesting at exactly 40.0%. Once a request is in, it is final and cannot be edited or cancelled. Funds leave the account within minutes of approval and reach your payout method within 2 business days, and a trade that drops the balance into the buffer before approval can get the request denied.

LucidDirect Consistency Rule: 20% per Payout Cycle
LucidDirect skips the evaluation, and pays for that with Lucid’s strictest consistency rule: your largest single day must be no more than 20% of your total profit in the payout cycle, reset after each payout (LucidDirect Payout Objectives). You also need the cycle’s profit goal, which is higher for the first payout.
| Account | Profit goal 1 | Largest day at goal 1 | Profit goal 2+ | Largest day at goal 2+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,500 | $300 | $1,250 | $250 |
| 50K | $3,000 | $600 | $2,500 | $500 |
| 100K | $6,000 | $1,200 | $3,500 | $700 |
| 150K | $9,000 | $1,800 | $4,500 | $900 |
A 20% limit means at least five winning days in every cycle, and in practice six or seven, because losing days come off the total. Example on 50K: +$550, +$580, +$450, −$200, +$580, +$520, +$520 gives $3,000 of profit with a $580 best day, which is 19.3%: the $3,000 goal is met and the ratio is inside 20%. One $1,000 day in the same cycle would have lifted the profit needed to $5,000. LucidDirect’s funded article says “No simulated payout caps” while its payout article lists maximum requests of $1,000 / $2,000 / $2,500 / $3,000 for payouts 1 to 3 and $1,000 / $2,500 / $3,000 / $3,500 for payouts 4 and 5 (25K to 150K); the payout article is the specific one, so plan around those caps (LucidDirect Funded Account, LucidDirect Payout Objectives). Full plan details: LucidDirect rules and payouts.
LucidDaily Consistency: 50% in the Evaluation, None When Funded
The LucidDaily evaluation uses the same 50% rule and the same cushion example as LucidFlex: $650, $1,560, $3,120 and $4,680 at the exact target of $1,250, $3,000, $6,000 and $9,000 (LucidDaily Consistency, LucidDaily Evaluation). The evaluation can use an end-of-day or an intraday drawdown, chosen at checkout; the funded account always uses an intraday drawdown. The funded account has no consistency percentage (LucidDaily Funded Account).
What replaces it is a hard ceiling on a single day. LucidDaily has a maximum daily profit of $6,000 (25K), $8,000 (50K), $10,000 (100K) or $12,000 (150K). Meet or exceed it and you are automatically moved live (LucidDaily Payouts). Payouts need a balance above the buffer (initial max loss limit plus $100) and positive net profit since the last payout, with a $500 minimum. LucidDaily funded accounts also ban trading U.S. high-impact red-folder news: you must be flat from one minute before to one minute after, and breaking that is a hard breach.
LucidBlack Consistency (Legacy Plan): 60% Evaluation, 40% Funded
LucidBlack is a legacy plan with 25K, 50K and 100K sizes. It is the only Lucid plan with a consistency rule in both stages: 60% or less in the evaluation and 40% or less per payout cycle in the funded account (LucidBlack Consistency Percentage). The funded account also has a profit goal per cycle and an optional, larger bonus goal on payouts 2 to 4 (LucidBlack Payout Objectives). The standard payout maximum is $750, $1,500 or $2,000, and meeting the bonus goal adds the same amount again, so a 50K account can request up to $3,000 in a bonus cycle.
| Account | Eval target | Top day at 60% | Payout goal | Top day at 40% | Bonus goal | Top day at 40% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,250 | $750 | $1,500 | $600 | $2,500 | $1,000 |
| 50K | $3,000 | $1,800 | $3,000 | $1,200 | $5,000 | $2,000 |
| 100K | $6,000 | $3,600 | $4,500 | $1,800 | $7,000 | $2,800 |
Lucid’s LucidBlack example: $750 of best-day profit at the 50K evaluation’s $3,000 target is 25%, well inside 60%. LucidBlack funded accounts move live after the fourth payout or earlier at the risk team’s discretion (LucidBlack Live).
LucidMaxx and Live Accounts
LucidMaxx is invite-only. In the new program, Step 1 is an evaluation with a 40% consistency target and Lucid’s own note that it results in “a potential 3 day pass”; Step 2 (pre-live) has no consistency rule; passing Step 2 moves you to a live account with a static drawdown (New LucidMaxx Program). The legacy LucidMaxx evaluation used 40% consistency plus 5 trading days (Legacy LucidMaxx Eval Rules).
Live accounts have no consistency requirement (New Live Structure). The live bonus is the closest thing to one: it needs live profit equal to a set target and 20 trading days, where a trading day means at least one trade with +$1/−$1 net P&L, but there is no ratio between days. Live moves, cashouts and LucidMaxx are covered on our Lucid Trading payouts page.

Calculate it yourself in five steps
- Pick the window. Evaluation: all profit since the account started. Pro, Direct or Black funded: profit since your last approved payout.
- Find your largest single-day profit in that window and your total net profit, including losing days.
- Divide largest day by total profit. At or below your limit means the consistency part is met.
- If you are over, divide largest day by the limit. That is the total profit you need. Subtract what you have for the amount still to earn.
- Plan the remaining days below your best day. Spread the amount over two or more days so one strong session does not set a new, higher best day.

For your own daily figures, the BestProps consistency rule calculator takes each closed day, including losses, and shows your ratio, the profit still needed and the largest safe next day. Enter 50 for the LucidFlex or LucidDaily evaluation, 40 for LucidPro funded (35 for the older cohort), 20 for LucidDirect and 60 for the LucidBlack evaluation.
Edge Cases and Common Mistakes
- Losing days raise your percentage. A −$600 day lowers your total, so the same best day becomes a bigger share. On LucidPro, +$1,500, −$600, +$900 is $1,800 of profit and an 83% ratio, even though no day was bigger than $1,500.
- What counts as one day. Lucid measures by trading session. For LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect sim accounts, positions must be closed by 4:45 PM EST and trading resumes at 6:00 PM EST (Lucid FAQ), so evening trades belong to the next session. Dashboard objectives update 5 to 30 minutes after your last closed trade.
- The daily loss limit does not cap profit. The DLL is a soft breach on losses only. Nothing stops a winning day from running past your consistency line, so set your own daily profit stop at the largest day your plan allows.
- Giving profit back on purpose is a real loss. Some Reddit replies suggest losing money late in the day to shrink a big day. It costs real drawdown room, and Lucid’s Trade with Integrity article says traders are rewarded “not for exploiting technicalities”. Earning more on later days is the safer fix.
- Flex and Daily funded have no ratio, but they still have conditions. Flex needs 5 qualifying profit days per payout; Daily moves you live at its maximum daily profit.
- Pro dates matter. A LucidPro account bought or reset before November 28, 2025, 3:00 PM EST is on 35%, not 40%. A reset counts as a new start date.
How to Trade Inside the Consistency Rule
- Set a daily profit ceiling before the session. Use the largest-day figure for your plan and size from the tables above, minus a small margin.
- Size for the ceiling, not the target. On a 50K LucidFlex evaluation a $1,500 ceiling means about two good days; on a 50K LucidDirect cycle a $600 ceiling means at least five.
- Stop after a big win. Once a day reaches the ceiling, closing the platform protects both the ratio and your drawdown.
- Check the dashboard after each session. It shows the adjusted target or payout objectives; Lucid says eligibility updates with end-of-day accounting.
- Request only when every condition shows met, then trade as if the payout amount has already left the account.
What to Check Before You Buy a Lucid Account
- Which stage your strategy finds hard: big single days suit LucidPro’s evaluation (no consistency) or LucidFlex funded (no consistency); steady small days suit any plan.
- Whether you can live with 20% on LucidDirect: at least five winning days per payout cycle, every cycle.
- The purchase or reset date of any LucidPro account you already hold (35% or 40%).
- That your daily risk can produce the target without a day above the limit: on 150K LucidFlex, $9,000 needs days of $4,500 or less.
- The current help-centre article for your exact plan on the day you trade, since Lucid edits these pages often.

Lucid Trading Consistency Rule FAQs
What does the 50% consistency rule mean in Lucid?
In the LucidFlex and LucidDaily evaluations, your biggest single-day profit must be 50% or less of your total profit before you can upgrade. On a 50K account with a
