LucidBlack is a legacy Lucid Trading plan. Lucid no longer sells it: its help centre files the plan under “LucidBlack (Legacy)”, the LucidBlack product pages show as out of stock, and the current homepage lists only LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidDirect. Accounts already open still follow the LucidBlack rules: a one-time-fee evaluation in 25K, 50K and 100K sizes (targets $1,250, $3,000, $6,000) with a 60% consistency rule and an end-of-day trailing max loss limit ($1,000, $2,000, $3,000), then a funded account with no daily loss limit, a scaling plan, a 40% consistency rule per payout cycle and a profit goal of $1,500, $3,000 or $4,500 per payout. Standard payouts are capped at $750, $1,500 and $2,000; on payouts 2 to 4 a higher bonus goal doubles the cap. The split is 90/10, and the fourth payout is the trigger for Lucid’s LucidBlack live transition, where most of the moved capital sits in escrow. Checked against Lucid’s help centre on October 13, 2026.

This guide covers one Lucid Trading plan: LucidBlack, also written Lucid Black or LucidBLACK. It explains what changed, which LucidBlack rules still apply to open accounts, the payout rules and the maximum payout for every size, with worked examples, and how LucidBlack compares with LucidPro and LucidFlex, the plans a new buyer can choose today. Every rule was read from Lucid’s own help centre and website on October 13, 2026. Where Lucid’s pages disagree, or where a detail is not published, we say so instead of guessing.

Is LucidBlack Still Available? What Changed

No. LucidBlack is closed to new buyers. Three things on Lucid’s own sites show it, all read on October 13, 2026:

  • Lucid’s help centre lists the plan as the LucidBlack (Legacy) collection, with seven articles: evaluation, funded account, payout objectives, consistency, scaling plan, drawdown and live.
  • The LucidBlack product pages on lucidtrading.com (for example the 50K Rithmic version) load with no price or buy button, and the shop marks them out of stock.
  • The pricing section of the Lucid Trading homepage offers LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidDirect. LucidBlack is not mentioned anywhere on the page.

Lucid has not published an announcement with the exact date sales stopped, so here is the timeline we could document from Lucid’s pages and their public Internet Archive captures. Treat the dates as the earliest and latest points we can prove, not as official launch and closing dates.

LucidBlack timeline from Lucid’s own pages (checked October 13, 2026)
DateWhat Lucid’s pages show
January 5, 2026Archived homepage: the plan picker has LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect. No LucidBlack.
Around January 18, 2026The LucidDirect Live (Legacy) article says LucidDirect accounts bought from 1/18 at 3 PM EST lose the Live Bonus, a feature “now exclusive to LucidBlack”. LucidBlack was being sold by then.
March 3 to July 6, 2026Archived homepages still contain LucidBlack checkout pop-ups in the page code, but the visible plan tabs are LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect.
March 30, 2026The earliest archived copy of the help collection is already titled “LucidBlack (Legacy)”. The rule figures in it match today’s.
October 13, 2026Help collection still “LucidBlack (Legacy)”; product pages out of stock; homepage plans are LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidDirect.
What this means for you

If you bought a LucidBlack evaluation or hold a LucidBlack funded account, the seven legacy articles are still the rulebook for that account. If you are shopping now, you cannot buy LucidBlack: compare LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect instead, or use our Lucid account chooser.

What changed between LucidBlack and today’s Lucid plans

  • Bonus payouts are gone from the lineup. LucidBlack let you double the payout cap on payouts 2 to 4 by hitting a higher profit goal. None of the current plans’ payout articles offer a bonus payout.
  • Four payouts became five. LucidBlack moved traders toward live after the fourth payout. Under the current New Live Structure article, Payout 5 on Flex, Pro or Direct is the point at which traders enter the live review pool.
  • The escrow model was replaced for current plans. LucidBlack’s live move transfers capped simulated profit, pays part on day one and holds the rest in escrow. The New Live Structure starts live accounts at a $0 balance with a repeatable live bonus. Lucid has not said which model applies to a LucidBlack trader moved live today (see the live section below).
  • A 150K size was never part of LucidBlack. LucidBlack came in 25K, 50K and 100K only; the current Pro, Flex, Daily and Direct plans go up to 150K.

LucidBlack Evaluation Rules

The LucidBlack evaluation is a simulated account with a profit target. Reach the target without the balance touching the max loss limit, with your largest day at 60% or less of total profit, and you can upgrade to a LucidBlack funded account. Lucid lists these features on the LucidBlack Evaluation Account article:

  • One-time fee, no monthly rebilling and no time limit to pass.
  • Real-time activation: the funded account is ready 5 to 30 minutes after you hit the target.
  • No activation fee to upgrade to the funded account.
  • No daily loss limit (DLL) in the evaluation.
  • A 60% consistency rule, which Lucid says “allows for an easier two day pass”.
LucidBlack evaluation rules by account size (checked October 13, 2026)
Account sizeProfit targetTarget as % of sizeMax loss limit (EOD)ConsistencyMax size
25K$1,2505%$1,00060%2 minis or 20 micros
50K$3,0006%$2,00060%4 minis or 40 micros
100K$6,0006%$3,00060%6 minis or 60 micros

The 60% rule means no single day may make more than 60% of the profit at the moment you pass. With the minimum profit, the biggest day you can have is $750 on the 25K, $1,800 on the 50K and $3,600 on the 100K. Since one day can never be more than 60% of the total, a pass always takes at least two profitable days. If your best day is bigger, you keep trading until total profit is large enough: the profit you need is your best day divided by 0.6.

How a big day raises the profit needed to pass a LucidBlack evaluation (60% rule, BestProps arithmetic)
AccountBest single dayTotal profit needed (best day / 0.6)Compared with the target
25K$750$1,250Equal to the $1,250 target
25K$1,000$1,667$417 above the target
50K$1,800$3,000Equal to the $3,000 target
50K$2,400$4,000$1,000 above the target
100K$3,600$6,000Equal to the $6,000 target
100K$4,500$7,500$1,500 above the target

Worked example: passing a 50K LucidBlack evaluation

  1. You start at $50,000. The max loss limit starts at $48,000 and trails your highest closing balance by $2,000. There is no daily loss limit.
  2. Day 1 closes at $51,200 (+$1,200). The max loss limit moves up to $49,200 at the end of the session.
  3. Day 2 closes at $53,000 (+$1,800). Total profit is $3,000, the target. Your largest day is $1,800, which is 60% of $3,000, so the consistency rule is met.
  4. If day 2 had been +$2,400 instead, total profit would be $3,600 and the largest day 67%. You would need $4,000 of total profit before passing.
  5. Lucid’s own example: a $750 best day on a $3,000 total is 25%, well inside the 60% limit.

LucidBlack Funded Account Rules

The LucidBlack funded account is also simulated. Lucid says traders “build simulated capital to earn payouts and potentially be moved to live markets” (LucidBlack Funded Account). It keeps the evaluation’s account size and max loss limit, and adds a scaling plan, a per-cycle consistency rule and the payout goals.

LucidBlack funded account rules (checked October 13, 2026)

50K$2,00040%Yes4 minis or 40 micros
100K$3,00040%Yes6 minis or 60 micros
  • No daily loss limit. As in the evaluation, there is no DLL on LucidBlack funded accounts. The only hard loss line is the max loss limit.
  • No minimum number of trading days. Lucid says there are “no trading days requirements on LucidBlack”. The 40% consistency rule still forces at least three profitable days per payout, which is why Lucid says a payout can come “in as little as 3 days”.
  • No payout buffer. Unlike LucidPro, there is no buffer balance to keep after a payout. The max loss limit is the only floor.
  • Real-time dashboard. Objectives update within 5 to 30 minutes of your last closed trade.

LucidBlack Drawdown: End-of-Day Max Loss Limit

Both LucidBlack stages use an end-of-day (EOD) trailing drawdown (LucidBlack Drawdown). At the close of each session the system takes your highest closing balance and moves the max loss limit (MLL) up behind it. Intraday swings do not move the limit; only closing balances do. Once the account closes above the initial trail balance, the MLL locks at the starting balance plus $100 and stops moving. If the balance reaches the MLL, the account is breached.

LucidBlack max loss limit and lock levels (checked October 13, 2026)
Account sizeMLL amountStarting MLLInitial trail balanceLocked MLL balance
25K$1,000$24,000$26,100$25,100
50K$2,000$48,000$52,100$50,100
100K$3,000$97,000$103,100$100,100

Two practical points follow. First, because the limit trails closing balances, a winning day you give back the next morning still raises the limit. Second, because LucidBlack has no payout buffer, a payout lowers the balance toward a locked MLL. The worked payout example below shows how much room is left.

LucidBlack Scaling Plan

The funded account does not give you full size on day one. The LucidBlack Scaling Plan sets the contract limit from your simulated profit, and it updates at the end of each session, not in real time. As profit rises the limit rises; when profit falls (after a losing day or a payout) the limit can drop back.

LucidBlack funded scaling plan (checked October 13, 2026)

$3,000 and aboven/a (max reached)n/a (max reached)6 minis or 60 micros

Lucid says its back-end systems watch for attempts to get around the scaling plan and that repeated attempts may lead to an account review. Size your orders to the limit shown for the current session, especially on the first day after a payout.

LucidBlack Payout Rules

Lucid’s LucidBlack Payout Objectives article sets two required conditions and one optional one. All three reset after each approved payout.

  1. Consistency: 40% or less. Your largest single-day profit must be no more than 40% of your total profit in the payout cycle.
  2. Payout profit goal. Earn at least $1,500 (25K), $3,000 (50K) or $4,500 (100K) in the cycle. The goal resets to $0 after each approved payout.
  3. Optional bonus profit goal (payouts 2 to 4 only). Earn $2,500, $5,000 or $7,000 in the cycle and you may add a bonus payout on top of the standard payout. It costs nothing extra and is not available on payout 1.

Other payout terms from the same article: the minimum request is $500; requests are final once submitted and cannot be edited or cancelled; there is no fixed payout window, so you can request any day after meeting the criteria; funds leave the account within a few minutes of approval and reach your payment method within 2 business days. If you trade before the payout is processed and drop the balance below the required amount, the request may be denied. All LucidBlack payouts are split 90% to the trader and 10% to Lucid.

LucidBlack payout goals and caps per cycle (checked October 13, 2026)
Account sizeProfit goalStandard maxBonus profit goalBonus max (added)Max with bonus
25K$1,500$750$2,500$750$1,500
50K$3,000$1,500$5,000$1,500$3,000
100K$4,500$2,000$7,000$2,000$4,000
Read the goal and the cap together

The profit goal is larger than the payout cap on every size. On a 50K you must earn $3,000 in the cycle to withdraw at most $1,500, so at least half of each cycle’s profit stays in the account. That leftover profit is not lost: it counts toward the amount Lucid moves live, up to the move-to-live cap.

Payout methods

Lucid’s Payout Methods article lists Plaid (instant bank transfers for US traders), WorkMarket by ADP (US and international, bank transfer or PayPal, typically as early as the next business day) and crypto for international traders (BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT, USDC). The article does not separate LucidBlack from other plans.

LucidBlack Max Payout by Account Size

A LucidBlack account pays at most four times before the live transition. Payout 1 can only be a standard payout; payouts 2, 3 and 4 can each add the bonus. The table adds up the best case and the standard-only case, using Lucid’s caps and goals.

LucidBlack maximum payouts over four payouts (BestProps arithmetic from Lucid’s caps)
AccountPayout 1 maxPayouts 2-4 max (each, with bonus)Total, standard onlyTotal, with bonus on 2-4Trader share of best case (90%)
25K$750$1,500$3,000$5,250$4,725
50K$1,500$3,000$6,000$10,500$9,450
100K$2,000$4,000$8,000$14,000$12,600

Reaching those totals takes more profit than you withdraw. The minimum simulated profit needed is the sum of the goals you hit, and what is not withdrawn stays in the account:

Minimum profit needed for four maximum LucidBlack payouts (BestProps arithmetic)
AccountProfit needed, standard only (4 x goal)Withdrawn, standard onlyProfit needed, bonus on 2-4Withdrawn, bonus on 2-4Left in account (best case)
25K$6,000$3,000$9,000$5,250$3,750
50K$12,000$6,000$18,000$10,500$7,500
100K$18,000$8,000$25,500$14,000$11,500

In the best case the profit left in the account stays under the move-to-live cap on every size ($6,000, $12,000 and $16,000), so none of it is forfeited at the live move. Profit above the cap is forfeited, which matters if you run the account far past the goals.

Worked example: a full payout cycle on a 50K LucidBlack account

  1. The funded account starts at $50,000 with the MLL at $48,000 and a 2-mini limit from the scaling plan.
  2. Over four days you make +$900, +$1,000, +$600 and +$500. Total profit is $3,000, which meets the $3,000 goal. Your largest day ($1,000) is 33% of the total, inside the 40% rule.
  3. The account closed above $52,100 on day 3, so the MLL is locked at $50,100. Scaling has moved you to 4 minis (profit of $2,000 or more).
  4. You request the $1,500 standard maximum. The balance drops to $51,500, $1,400 above the locked MLL, and your profit for scaling falls to $1,500, so the next session’s limit is 3 minis.
  5. Payout 2: you earn another $5,000 in the cycle with no day above $2,000 (40%). That meets the bonus goal, so you can request $1,500 standard plus $1,500 bonus, $3,000 in total. After the 90/10 split you receive $2,700.
Payout rules to watch

Because there is no buffer, each payout eats into your cushion above the locked MLL. On the 25K, a $750 payout after exactly meeting the $1,500 goal leaves the balance at $25,750, only $650 above the $25,100 lock. On a small account a single bad session after a payout can breach it.

LucidBlack Consistency Rule: 60% to Pass, 40% to Get Paid

LucidBlack uses one formula in both stages (LucidBlack Consistency Percentage): largest single-day profit / account profit = consistency percentage. The limit is 60% in the evaluation and 40% in each funded payout cycle. In the funded account the 40% rule resets after every payout, so only the days since your last payout count.

LucidBlack funded consistency: the largest day allowed at the minimum goal (BestProps arithmetic)
AccountPayout goalLargest day allowed (40%)Bonus goalLargest day allowed (40%)Minimum profitable days
25K$1,500$600$2,500$1,0003
50K$3,000$1,200$5,000$2,0003
100K$4,500$1,800$7,000$2,8003

If one day is bigger than the allowance, you need more total profit before the cycle qualifies: best day divided by 0.4. A $1,800 day on a 50K means $4,500 of cycle profit before you can request. For worked tables across every Lucid plan, see the Lucid Trading consistency rule guide.

Moving Live from LucidBlack: Escrow and the Live Bonus

Lucid’s LucidBlack Live article says LucidBlack traders are moved to live trading after their fourth and final LucidBlack payout, or earlier at the risk team’s discretion. A trader may have up to five live accounts. The simulated profit left in each LucidBlack account sets its live funding, up to a cap, and anything above the cap is forfeited.

LucidBlack move-to-live caps and day-one deposits (checked October 13, 2026)
Account sizeMax moved live (per account)Deposited on day 1Held in escrow at the capLive bonus pool (50% of escrow)
25K$6,000$1,800$4,200$2,100
50K$12,000$3,600$8,400$4,200
100K$16,000$4,800$11,200$5,600

The escrow and bonus columns are our arithmetic from Lucid’s caps and its rule that the live bonus equals 50% of the total escrow. Lucid’s own example: a trader moves five 50K LucidBlack accounts with $15,000 of simulated profit each. Each is capped at $12,000, so $3,000 per account is forfeited; total live capital is $60,000, of which $18,000 is deposited on day one and $42,000 is held in escrow.

How escrow and the live bonus are released

  1. Complete 10 profitable trading days in the live account and earn $10,000 in live profit. Only then does Lucid’s risk team review the account for escrow release.
  2. After that, Lucid releases $5,000 of escrow for every further $10,000 of live profit. Escrow is reviewed and calculated weekly, not daily.
  3. Once all escrow has been released, the live bonus (50% of the escrow total) starts to release at the same rate: $5,000 for every $10,000 of live profit, reviewed weekly.
  4. You must wait 60 days from account opening before withdrawing escrow or bonus money, and only released amounts can be withdrawn. Released funds can be used for margin.
  5. Reckless or “yolo” trading makes you ineligible for escrow release and the live bonus, and large drawdowns after a release may trigger a risk review.

Our reading of those rules for a single 50K account moved at the $12,000 cap: $3,600 arrives on day one. Releasing the $8,400 of escrow at $5,000 per $10,000 of further live profit takes roughly $16,800 of live profit after the first $10,000 gate, and the $4,200 bonus another $8,400 or so. Lucid does not say whether a partial $10,000 step releases a partial amount, so treat these as approximate.

Conflict: which live structure applies to LucidBlack today

The plan-specific LucidBlack Live article still describes the escrow model above. Lucid’s newer New Live Structure article, updated October 9, 2026, describes live accounts that start at a $0 balance with daily payouts and a repeatable live bonus, and names Flex, Pro, Direct and Daily as the plans it covers; it does not mention LucidBlack. Lucid has not said which structure a LucidBlack trader moved live now receives. Ask support in writing before your fourth payout, and keep the answer.

For the current live programme and LucidMaxx, see our Lucid Trading live account and LucidMaxx guide.

Trading Rules That Still Apply to LucidBlack Accounts

Lucid’s firm-wide rules sit in its Rules and Guidelines collection. Some name every plan; others name only the current ones. Here is how each one reads for a LucidBlack account, as of October 13, 2026.

Firm-wide Lucid rules and how they read for LucidBlack

The news and hours articles were written for the current plans. In the absence of a LucidBlack-specific rule, the safe approach is to follow the Pro, Flex and Direct versions (flat by 4:45 PM EST) and confirm news trading with support. For the full firm rulebook, see Lucid Trading rules.

LucidPro vs LucidBlack

Both have a 40% funded consistency rule and the same 50K target and drawdown. The differences are in the payout path. LucidPro asks for a much smaller profit goal per cycle ($500 on a 50K, against $3,000 on LucidBlack) but makes you keep a buffer, and its caps are higher on payout 1 ($2,000 against $1,500). LucidBlack’s bonus payouts gave it the higher ceiling on payouts 2 to 4 ($3,000 against $2,500), at the cost of earning $5,000 per cycle. LucidPro has no evaluation consistency rule, so a one-day pass is possible; LucidBlack needed at least two days. See the full LucidPro rules and payouts.

LucidFlex vs LucidBlack

LucidFlex is the opposite trade-off. It has no funded consistency rule and no large pr
