What funded traders actually experience, in their own words.

Share what happened with your prop firm. The survey takes about 5-8 minutes and does not ask for your name or email. Your answers help BestProps show what traders are seeing with evaluations, payouts, rules, and firm trust.

What The Survey Tracks

  • Evaluation experience

Attempts, pass timing, fee spend, and the rules that caused problems.

  • Payout experience

Whether traders were paid, how long it took, what method was used, and where requests got stuck.

  • Rule clarity

Which rules traders understood before buying and which rules created confusion later.

  • Firm trust

How traders rate the firms they have actually tried.

Take The Survey

Answer from your own experience. The survey is for funded traders, previously funded traders, and traders who have attempted prop firm evaluations. BestProps uses responses to publish summary findings, not individual answers.

1. Before we start

This survey is pseudonymous. We do not ask for your name, email, or IP address. Your submission gets a response ID you can use to request deletion. By continuing, you agree that BestProps may analyze and publish aggregated, anonymized results as described in the survey methodology. This survey is for research; it is not financial, legal, or tax advice.

Have you attempted at least one prop firm evaluation (any firm, any asset class)?

Which best describes your current status?

In which year did you last attempt an evaluation or trade a funded account?

2. About you

How long have you been actively trading (funded or not)?

What is your primary funded/evaluation asset class?

Where are you based?

Is trading your main source of income?

Roughly how many prop firm evaluations have you attempted in total, across all firms?

Roughly what was your total gross income from prop trading in the last 12 months (payouts received, before costs)?

3. Choosing a firm

Which firm do you currently (or most recently) hold a funded account or active evaluation with?

If other, which firm?

How many different prop firms have you tried (evaluation or funded)?

What mattered most when you chose your firm? Pick up to 3.

Where did you first hear about your firm?

How likely are you to recommend your firm to another trader? (0 = not at all, 10 = extremely likely)

4. Evaluations and pass rates

On which attempt did you first pass an evaluation (any firm)?

How long did it take you to pass your most recent successful evaluation, from starting that attempt?

Roughly how much have you spent on evaluation fees, resets, and activations in total, across all firms, lifetime?

What caused your most recent failed evaluation?

How fair did the evaluation process at your firm feel?

Optional: in one or two sentences, what is the single biggest thing firms get wrong about evaluations? (Free-text answers are never included in the public dataset.)

5. Payouts

Have you ever requested a payout from a funded account?

Thinking of your most recent payout request at your firm: what happened?

How long did your most recent completed payout take from request to money received?

What payout method did you use most recently?

How satisfied are you with payouts at your firm overall? (1 = very unsatisfied, 5 = very satisfied)

6. Rules and restrictions

Before you paid for your most recent evaluation, how well did you understand the rules that could fail you (drawdown type, daily loss, consistency, news)?

Which rule frustrates you most in practice?

Has a firm changed rules that affected you while you held an active evaluation or funded account?

Did the firm communicate the change clearly before it applied?

How would you rate your firm's communication about rules and account status? (1 = very poor, 5 = excellent)

7. Trust and sentiment

How much do you trust your firm to honor its own published rules and payout terms? (1 = not at all, 5 = completely)

How likely are you to recommend prop trading in general (not a specific firm) to a friend who trades? (0–10)

What is your top concern about the prop firm industry right now? Pick up to 2.

Where do you go first for reliable prop firm information?

After you submit, you will receive a deletion code. Save it if you may want your answers removed later.

How Results Are Used

  • Summary findings:

BestProps may publish high-level takeaways when enough traders have responded.

  • Firm results:

A firm is shown by name only when there are enough responses about that firm.

  • Trader comments:

Written answers help identify themes, but BestProps does not publish personal details.

Privacy

The survey does not ask for your name, email, phone number, account number, or other direct identifiers.

BestProps uses bot checks and duplicate-response controls to protect the quality of the survey. Published results are summarized, and individual submissions are not published.

To request deletion, email privacy@bestprops.com with the deletion code shown after you submit.

For Prop Firms

Firms can share the survey with their traders. BestProps may compare firm-shared responses with the broader response pool before publishing firm-specific findings.

Survey results reflect self-reported trader experience and do not constitute financial, legal, tax, or business advice.
