Key takeaways

We ranked 17 forex prop firms by funded rule load: how many of eight rules (consistency, news, weekend, per-trade risk, lot cap, minimum days, a first payout after day 14, payout cap) apply once you are funded, read from each firm’s own pages, with unpublished rules counted as half.

Funded Trading Plus 1-Step Express ranks first at 1.5 (three rules unpublished, $349 at $50K, payouts every 7 days). E8 Markets E8 Pro is the best fully published low load at 3.0 ($248 at $50K, $49.60 per $1,000, daily payouts). Hola Prime 2-Step Prime (3.0, news and weekends open, hard 2% risk per idea) and FundedNext Stellar Instant (3.0, no daily loss limit, $1,200 of room at $20K) follow. Blue Guardian 2 Step Nano is the cheapest loss room at $23.90 per $1,000 but caps funded payouts at 2% per cycle. Goat Funded Trader 2 Step GOAT carries the most funded rules (7.0). OFP Funding is shown separately for payout refusals. 11 of 18 firms checked have a hidden Trustpilot rating.

Quick answer on the best forex prop firms

  • Lowest funded rule load: Funded Trading Plus 1-Step Express, 1.5 of 8, but three rules are unpublished. $349 at $50K.
  • Lowest load with every rule published: E8 Markets E8 Pro 1-Step, 3.0 of 8. Daily payouts, news and weekends open, $49.60 per $1,000.
  • News and weekend trading once funded: Hola Prime 2-Step Prime, 3.0 of 8, if every idea risks 2% or less.
  • Cheapest loss room: Blue Guardian 2 Step Nano, $23.90 per $1,000, with funded payouts capped at 2% per cycle.
  • Largest fixed floor: FundingPips 2 Step Flex, 12% static, $46.25 per $1,000.

Why the challenge card misleads: most forex prop firms advertise the evaluation (target, daily loss, split, price). The rules that void profits, delay a payout or close the account usually switch on after you pass, and they live in separate help articles. Every ranked product carries at least one of our eight funded rules or leaves one unpublished, and 12 of the 17 score 4 or more.

What a forex prop firm is and what you actually buy

A forex prop firm sells an evaluation: you pay a one-time fee, trade a simulated account under a profit target and loss limits, and if you pass you get a funded account whose profits the firm shares with you. At every firm here that funded account is simulated too. BrightFunded says “all the accounts we offer our clients are demo accounts equipped with virtual capital.” FTMO says “Our clients therefore never actually perform any trades on live markets.” The payouts are real; the trading is not. Instant products skip the evaluation and start you on the funded account straight away.

That model shapes what to compare. The fee is your whole financial risk, the loss floor is how much room you get for it, and the funded rules decide how much of your simulated profit you can actually withdraw. For the longer explainer on comparing forex funded accounts, see how to compare forex funded accounts.

Hidden Trustpilot
  1. Sources: each firm’s own funded-account, payout, news, weekend and prohibited-practice articles, terms and checkout, read October 4 to 5, 2026. Never a review site or a competing roundup.
  2. One product per firm: we score every forex product a firm sells today and rank the one with the lowest funded rule load; ties go to the lower price per $1,000.
  3. Eight rules: each scores 1 if it applies on the funded account, 0 if the firm states it does not, and 0.5 if the firm publishes nothing either way. Silence is never read as “no rule”.
  4. Tie-breaks: list price plus any activation fee, divided by the overall loss floor in thousands (never a daily limit or a per-trade rule), then the larger Trustpilot review count.
  5. Warnings, not ranks: a floor that trails intraday equity, a payout refusal right shown in use, or a rule you cannot read before paying moves a product out of the ranking. A live call-up is a warning only. Codes never set a rank.

Worked example, Blue Guardian 2 Step Nano: a 50% best-day rule on funded accounts (1), a 5-minute news blackout (1), no weekend restriction (0), no published per-trade rule either way (0.5), an 80% margin gambling rule (1), no minimum days (0), a first payout after 14 calendar days (1) and a 2% payout cap per cycle (1). That is 5.5 of 8. Its price per $1,000 is $239 ÷ ($10,000 ÷ 1,000) = $23.90.

Tie-break in action: FundingPips 2 Step Flex and FXIFY Two Phase Standard both carry 4.5. FundingPips costs $555 ÷ 12 = $46.25 per $1,000 of loss room; FXIFY costs $549 ÷ 10 = $54.90. FundingPips ranks above FXIFY.

This guide tests the whole funded stage on one count and uses cost only as a tie-break. Our cheapest forex prop firms guide ranks on price per $1,000 alone, and our forex prop firms for beginners guide ranks on cost at $50K with beginner-relevant columns, so their orders differ from this one.

Notes on this ranking: * The firm states no activation fee either way, so the price per $1,000 is the list price alone; if an activation fee applies, the figure rises. † The count includes at least one conservative reading of a firm clause; the literal-reading count is in the table further down, and on that reading E8 Markets would rank first at 1.0. ‡ FTMO shows the Swing price only after login, so its price per $1,000 is not computed and it sits after the priced products with the same count; the Standard 2-Step figure is context, not the Swing price. § BrightFunded prices in euros, converted at the ECB rate of 1.1225 on October 2, 2026; only a euro move of more than 13% would change its place, because the next priced product at 4.5 (Alpha Capital Group, $57.70) is about 13% cheaper per $1,000. Sizes differ by firm because each row is that firm’s lowest-load product at the size we priced; FundedNext’s instant account tops out at $20K.

Three ranked firms run a live call-up: FundingPips (cannot be declined), Alpha Capital Group (declining ends the relationship after a final payout) and City Traders Imperium (no decline terms published). A call-up never moves a rank here; it is the first watch-out in each firm’s block.

The eight funded rules forex prop firms add after you pass

The eight funded rules we count at forex prop firms: news, weekend, per trade, lot cap, min days, first payout, payout cap and consistency around a funded account card
The eight funded-stage rules we count, product by product.
  • Consistency at payout (4 apply): a cap on how much of your profit one day can make. Hola Prime, Alpha Capital Group, Blue Guardian and Maven Trading apply one on the ranked product; Blue Guardian’s 50% rule exists only once funded.
  • News (13 apply): windows of a few minutes around high-impact releases, with profit removed, credited at 40% (FundedNext) or capped (AquaFunded 0.5% per cycle, Goat Funded Trader 1%, Funding Traders 30% of total). Only E8 Markets, Hola Prime and The5ers state no funded news rule.
  • Weekend or overnight (3 apply): FundingPips closes funded positions each evening without its paid Swing add-on, FunderPro needs the same kind of add-on for weekends and news, and Goat Funded Trader removes funded profit from trades held across the weekend gap.
  • Per-trade risk (13 apply): from Hola Prime’s hard 2% per idea and Alpha Capital Group’s 2% open loss per asset to Goat Funded Trader’s and AquaFunded’s 2% combined floating-loss guards.
  • Lot or exposure cap (11 apply): hard lot limits (FundingPips 20 lots, E8 Markets 50, FTMO 100 on forex), margin rules (Blue Guardian 80%, Funding Traders 30% per trade, FunderPro 20% per asset class) or funded leverage cut in half (AquaFunded, Goat Funded Trader).
  • Minimum days per payout (5 apply): City Traders Imperium needs 7 profitable days before the first payout, Goat Funded Trader 4 qualifying days per payout, Maven 3, Funding Traders 2 and FXIFY 5 trading days before the first.
  • First payout after day 14 (9 apply): most two-steps wait 14 days; Funding Traders waits 21 and BrightFunded 30. Funded Trading Plus and E8 Markets pay from day 1.
  • Payout cap (9 apply): Blue Guardian 2% of balance per cycle, Maven $10,000 per 30 days per trader, Goat Funded Trader 6% or $10,000 on the first two payouts, E8 Markets half of profit per request, and method ceilings elsewhere.

For the two rules that most often decide a forex trader’s choice, see our guides to prop firms with no consistency rule and prop firms for news trading.

Literal and conservative readings of forex prop firm rules

Where a firm’s help centre and its terms disagree, or a rule is written without a number, we counted the stricter reading. That is the reading a firm can enforce at payout. Here is what each count would be on the literal reading instead.

Funded rule load as ranked and on a literal reading, where a conservative reading changed the count.
FirmCount as rankedLiteral countRead conservatively
E8 Markets3.01.0All-or-nothing trade ban; half-of-profit payout rule
FundedNext3.02.0Crypto and card payout ceilings
The5ers3.53.0Payout-cap FAQ that names no program
FXIFY4.52.0Event leverage cut; position-size clause; 5-day count
Alpha Capital Group4.53.52-minute trade-duration rule around news
BrightFunded4.53.5Terms clause on larger position sizes
City Traders Imperium5.02.0Gap-trading clause; whole-drawdown ban; crypto cap
FunderPro5.04.0Lot-size jump policy
FTMO5.03.0Gap-trading ban; risk-per-idea clause; method ceilings
Blue Guardian5.55.0Whether Guardian Shield covers Nano (left unpublished)
AquaFunded5.55.0Crypto-only payout ceiling
Maven Trading6.55.5Best-day clip the pricing card says is absent
Goat Funded Trader7.06.0Weekend-gap profit removal

On literal readings E8 Markets would lead at 1.0, and FXIFY, City Traders Imperium and FundedNext would sit at 2.0. FundedNext’s count rises because we treat its crypto and card payout ceilings as a cap, the same way we treat City Traders Imperium’s and AquaFunded’s crypto ceilings.

The 17 ranked forex prop firms, one by one

Each block names the product, the rules that count, the price and loss room, codes, payouts, leverage, the firm’s other products, who should choose it and what to watch. A live call-up, where one exists, is the first watch-out.

Funded Trading Plus 1-Step Express carries the lowest funded rule load, with three forex rules unpublished

Funded Trading Plus sits first for a reason a buyer should read twice: only three of the eight funded rules could not be ruled out, and all three are rules the firm simply has not published. Nothing on its own pages confirms a news window, a per-trade cap or a payout cap on the 1-Step Express, and nothing rules them out either. What it does publish is unusually loose for a forex prop firm: payouts from day 1 and every 7 days after that, weekend holding, and no funded consistency rule on this product.

Video: “1-Step Express Prop Trading Challenge Rules & Overview,” Funded Trading Plus official YouTube channel, February 20, 2026. Source type: firm-produced. Why selected: Funded Trading Plus’s own rules overview of the 1-Step Express, the product ranked here.

The consistency rule is scoped away from this product in the terms: “As of 07/02/2026 this requirement applies to the 2-Step Classic only.” The help article says “You can hold overnight and over weekend”, and payouts work on profit, not a day count: “you can make this request from day 1. All subsequent withdrawal requests would be every 7 days thereafter.” The gaps are real gaps. The product card says “News Trading Allowed – Subject to policy”, but the news policy it points to was not published when we checked, and the terms defer the per-symbol loss rule to a Section 16 that is missing from the live terms page.

  • Funded rule load: 1.5 of 8 on the 1-Step Express $50K, rank 1 of 17. Applies: none confirmed. Not published: news, per-trade risk, payout cap. Stated not to apply: consistency, weekend, lot cap, min days, day-14 wait.
  • Price and loss room: $349 at $50K, one-time. The floor is 6% ($3,000), and it trails your closed-balance high until it locks at the starting balance, which is why the price per $1,000 of loss room is high at $116.33. The daily loss limit is 4% from the prior day’s closed balance.
  • Codes when we checked: Sitewide code FUNDED30 showed $244.30 with no end date. Codes never set the rank.
  • Payouts: 80% split (90% with a paid add-on), $50 minimum, crypto or Rise, about 2 business days. Scaling adds a level for every 10% of closed profit, up to a $2.5M starting balance ($5M with the scaling add-on).
  • Leverage and platforms: 1:30 on forex, the same as the evaluation. MT5 outside the US, Match-Trader (no EAs) everywhere; US buyers get Match-Trader only.
  • Other products at this firm: The 2-Step Classic is cheaper at $319 but adds a 50% best-day rule once funded (load 3.0, $79.75 per $1,000). The $2,199 Instant Funding product forces a Friday close (load 2.5, $733.00 per $1,000). Pass Now Pay Later is not ranked: its help page says its funded floor trails equity.
  • Choose it when: You want weekly payouts from the first day in profit and weekend holds, and you can trade inside a 6% floor that trails your closed-balance high.
  • Watch out for:
    • News trades are subject to a policy the firm has not published, so ask support for it in writing before you trade releases.
    • The 6% floor follows each new closed-balance high until it reaches your starting balance.
    • Recent reviews describe slower support and KYC since the firm’s May 2026 Instant Funding acquisition.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden behind Trustpilot’s “breach of our guidelines” banner, 2,669 reviews (read October 4, 2026). Funded Trading Plus profile.

E8 Markets E8 Pro pays daily with no consistency or news rule on the funded forex account

E8 Pro is the most open funded account in this guide on the rules that matter day to day: no consistency score, no news window, weekend holding allowed, no minimum days and a payout any day once profit reaches 1%. Two of its three counted rules are counted only on the stricter reading of its own pages.

Video: “E8 Pro 1-Step Challenge: The Complete Rule Breakdown,” E8 Markets official YouTube channel, June 1, 2026. Source type: firm-produced. Why selected: E8’s own rule breakdown of the E8 Pro 1-Step, the product ranked here.

The payout criteria read “Criteria for the payout: No caps No consistency rules No minimum trading days”, and news is open at both stages: “You can trade news on E8 pro Forex without any restrictions”. What counts against it: a 50-lot maximum ticket (20 lots on gold), a ban on “Risking your entire daily drawdown on a single trade”, and the payout mechanics. Despite the No caps line, every payout is worked out from half your profit: “first, 50% of your total profits is set aside as your requestable amount.” We count that as a payout cap.

  • Funded rule load: 3.0 of 8 on the E8 Pro 1-Step $50K (10% floor), rank 2 of 17. Applies: per-trade risk, lot cap, payout cap. Not published: none. Stated not to apply: consistency, news, weekend, min days, day-14 wait. On a literal reading of the firm’s pages the count is 1.0; we counted the all-or-nothing trade ban and the half-of-profit payout rule conservatively.
  • Price and loss room: $248 at $50K for the 10% static floor ($5,000), with “There is no activation fee or subscription fee.” That is $49.60 per $1,000 of loss room. The floor stays fixed and moves up to the starting balance only when the first payout is processed. The daily loss limit is 2.5% of the starting balance ($1,250) and ends the account.
  • Codes when we checked: Standing first-order code E8 showed $186, no end date. Codes never set the rank.
  • Payouts: 80% split, paid daily. The first request needs 1% profit ($500 at $50K), the platform minimum is $100, and only 2% of balance per day counts toward profit. Methods are Rise, WorkMarket and Aeropay (US only).
  • Leverage and platforms: 1:30 on forex and 1:15 on indices and metals at both stages. cTrader, MT5, TradeLocker and E8 Terminal; US clients get TradeLocker and MatchTrader only.
  • Other products at this firm: E8 Pro with the 8% floor carries the same rules at $228 ($57.00 per $1,000). E8 One adds a 40% best day and a funded news window (load 4.5, $74.14). E8 Signature is the cheapest sticker at $160 but adds a nightly forced close and payout caps (load 6.0, $80.00).
  • Choose it when: You want news and weekend freedom on the funded account and daily payouts, and you accept that only half your profit is requestable at each payout.
  • Watch out for:
    • Half of every payout stays in the account as a drawdown buffer, which several reviewers call a freeze on half their profit.
    • E8 reserves the right to cut risk to 1% per trade idea if it detects a prohibited practice; dated reviews say it has used this at payout.
    • Many one-star payout reviews from December 2025 to September 2026 cite named rules; read the prohibited-strategies page first.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden behind Trustpilot’s “breach of our guidelines” banner, 3,298 reviews (read October 5, 2026). E8 Markets profile.

Hola Prime 2-Step Prime lets funded forex traders hold news and weekends behind a hard 2% risk rule

Hola Prime’s Prime accounts trade the opposite way to most two-steps: the funded stage is where news and weekends stay open, and the risk rule is where it gets strict. Two rules apply on the On-Demand payout option, two are unpublished, and nothing else counts.

Video: “Payout Cycles Explained, Bi-Weekly vs Monthly vs On Demand | Hola Prime Rules (2026),” Hola Prime official YouTube channel, July 30, 2026. Source type: firm-produced. Why selected: Hola Prime’s own payout-cycle explainer, which sets the On-Demand option ranked here.

The product article says “In 2 Step Prime Accounts , there is no restriction for trading during any news hours”, and weekend holding is allowed. The rule that ends accounts is the funded risk cap: “Your risk per trade idea must not exceed 2% of your initial account balance.” A stop loss is mandatory and a breach closes the account. On-Demand payouts add a consistency score: “your biggest winning day cannot exceed 40% of the total profits on the account.” The payout policy does not say whether profitable days count on this cycle or whether a payout is capped.
