TL;DR: TopstepX is Topstep’s only available trading platform as of August 23, 2026. It is a browser-based futures workspace with up to eight charts on one screen, 16 chart types, order tickets, a depth-of-market panel, position brackets, price alerts, account-level risk controls, copy trading, and performance tracking. It uses embedded TradingView charting but cannot connect to an external TradingView account. Topstep permits multiple tabs or windows in one browser on one device, while simultaneous access from different devices or browsers is restricted.

TopstepX is the trading workspace used for Topstep accounts. The platform combines futures charts, order entry, account selection, risk controls, and performance tools in one browser interface. This guide explains what the platform does, where its limits matter, and what a trader should check before using it for a Trading Combine or funded account.

What the TopstepX platform is

Topstep identifies TopstepX as its only available trading platform in its current getting-started guide. The same guide describes Topstep as a futures prop firm, so this page does not treat TopstepX as a general forex, stock, or crypto platform.

The platform is designed around Topstep accounts. It brings execution, risk management, and performance tracking into the same workspace. That account connection is important because access does not prove that another prop firm supports TopstepX. BestProps currently treats Topstep as the verified firm owner for this platform.

How to access the TopstepX platform

Topstep’s current TopstepX help page says traders can open the platform at topstepx.com/trade or launch it from the Topstep dashboard. Login details are emailed after the first purchase. Once signed in, the trader selects the intended account from the account menu before placing a trade.

That final account check matters when several evaluations or funded accounts appear in the same login. TopstepX supports account nicknames, but Topstep notes that a reset creates a new account number and clears the nickname. Keep the original account number available when contacting support.

TopstepX platform charts and workspace

TopstepX supports up to eight charts on one screen. Charts can work independently or share a symbol link so a symbol change carries across linked charts and the depth-of-market panel.

The official guide lists 16 chart types, including candles, bars, line, area, Heikin Ashi, Renko, Line Break, Kagi, and Point and Figure. It also lists standard intraday, daily, weekly, and monthly timeframes. The platform can show high-impact economic events on charts and automatically advances futures products to the current front month during its rollover process.

TopstepX uses embedded TradingView charting. That does not mean a trader can connect an external TradingView account. Topstep explicitly says external platform connections and custom indicators are unavailable under the current commercial charting setup.

TopstepX platform order management

The platform includes chart trading, an order ticket, and a depth-of-market panel. Traders can place common futures order types and manage working orders from the same workspace. Because fills and slippage still depend on market conditions, a platform control is not a promise of a particular fill price.

TopstepX also supports position risk and profit brackets. These can attach predefined stop-loss and take-profit levels to a position at the account level. The official guide documents minimum bracket distances and warns that invalid dollar or tick settings can be rejected or adjusted. Check the order preview and active working orders instead of assuming a saved bracket applied exactly as intended.

TopstepX platform risk settings

TopstepX includes personal daily loss limits, personal daily profit targets, trade limits, symbol blocks, contract limits, daily risk locks, and manual lockouts. These are trader-configured controls, not replacements for Topstep’s account rules.

A daily risk lock can prevent selected risk settings from being changed until the next trading day. A manual lockout can block trading for a chosen session or duration. Topstep warns that support cannot reverse some active locks and that pending orders may need separate attention. Review working orders whenever a limit or lockout is triggered.

Copy trading is also available within TopstepX. Lead and follower accounts need to be selected carefully, and follower accounts do not receive every risk-control option available to a lead account. Copy trading can also interact with Topstep’s hedging rules, so confirm the current account-stage policy before enabling it.

TopstepX platform mobile and device limits

TopstepX can be opened in a mobile browser, and the official guide provides mobile steps for price alerts and copy trading. It is still a browser workflow, so traders should test order entry, account selection, chart controls, and confirmations on the exact device they plan to use.

Exchange rules limit access to one device and browser at a time. Topstep says multiple tabs or windows are permitted when they use the same browser on the same device. Simultaneous use on a computer and phone, two computers, or two different browsers is not permitted under the documented session rule.

Alert behavior also varies by state. Price alerts can trigger while the trader is logged out, but sound notifications require the platform to be open. Contract rollover deletes contract-specific alerts, which means those alerts must be recreated for the new front-month contract.

Who the TopstepX platform fits

TopstepX may fit a futures trader who wants Topstep account access, browser-based charts, integrated risk controls, and order management in one place. It may also suit a trader who values account-level brackets, personal loss limits, performance tracking, and mobile-browser access.

Compare another platform when a strategy requires custom TradingView indicators, an external TradingView connection, simultaneous multi-device access, a desktop-only workflow, or support from a prop firm other than Topstep. Platform preference should be checked alongside account rules, contract limits, market-data terms, and the trader’s own execution process.

What to verify in the TopstepX platform

Before trading, confirm the selected account, current contract month, working orders, bracket settings, symbol links, and risk controls. Test the intended chart layout and device before a time-sensitive session. If copy trading is enabled, confirm the lead and follower mappings at the start of each session.

Topstep can change platform features, session rules, data terms, supported products, and account-stage access. This page was checked against Topstep’s official documentation on August 23, 2026 and should be rechecked by September 22, 2026 or sooner if Topstep changes the linked help pages.

TopstepX platform FAQs

Can TopstepX connect to an external TradingView account?

No. TopstepX uses embedded TradingView charting, but Topstep’s current guide says external platform connections and custom indicators are unavailable.

Is TopstepX available on mobile?

Yes, through a mobile browser. Traders should test the controls they need because the documented workflow and screen space differ from desktop use.

Can TopstepX run on two devices at once?

No. Topstep documents a one-device and one-browser session limit, although multiple tabs or windows in the same browser on that device are permitted.

Does TopstepX replace Topstep account rules?

No. Personal risk settings and lockouts are extra controls. The Trading Combine, Express Funded Account, and Live Funded Account rules still control the account.

Does TopstepX support other prop firms?

BestProps found current first-party support only for Topstep. A platform mention or shared technology does not establish support at another prop firm.
