Why prop firms restrict Vietnam traders
Vietnam is not subject to a broad U.S. country sanctions program. The restrictions on this page instead come from each firm’s own eligibility policy and the country coverage available through its broker, clearing firm, market-data vendor, identity provider, payment processor, or payout partner.
BestProps applies the restriction at the firm level. A company is not counted here when Vietnam remains eligible for another program under the same BestProps profile. That is why an isolated futures limit is not presented as proof that the entire firm blocks Vietnam.
Vietnam online trading and crypto rules
Vietnam’s State Securities Commission warns investors about securities, international derivatives, virtual exchanges, and other online trading venues that are not organized by the Vietnam Stock Exchange or its subsidiaries. The regulator tells investors to verify the licensing authority, operating entity, trading mechanism, and legal rights before sending money. A prop evaluation is usually a simulated performance contract, not an account with a Vietnam-licensed securities company.
Vietnam now has a formal trial framework for crypto assets. Government Resolution 05/2025/NQ-CP covers the offering, issuance, trading-market organization, service providers, and state management of crypto assets, and the Ministry of Finance began accepting applications for trial crypto-market service licenses in January 2026. That development does not make every overseas crypto checkout, wallet, or prop payout an approved Vietnamese service.
For domestic securities, the Hanoi Stock Exchange publishes separate sessions for listed shares, UPCoM shares, bonds, and derivatives. Its published equity schedule runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time. Exchange holidays and product schedules can change, so local day traders should use the current exchange notice rather than a foreign platform’s market clock.
A prop firm’s displayed balance is generally simulated. Passing an evaluation does not give the trader ownership of the currencies, futures contracts, shares, or cryptoassets shown on the platform. The legal relationship is governed by the firm’s contract and any reward depends on its rules, identity checks, and payout process.
Before paying from Vietnam, confirm that the card or bank supports the merchant, that the identity provider accepts Vietnamese documents, and that the named payout provider can send the stated currency to Vietnam. Keep the eligibility page, contract, receipt, and payout records, then ask a qualified local adviser about tax and foreign-exchange treatment.

What Vietnam traders should check before checkout
- Confirm that both citizenship and residence are eligible.
- Check the evaluation, simulated funded, live-funded, and payout rules separately.
- Use your real address and identity documents. A VPN does not change KYC eligibility.
- Confirm the payout provider supports your country and expected currency.
- Save a dated copy of the policy and checkout terms before paying.
- Confirm local foreign-exchange, tax, securities, and crypto rules with a qualified professional.
Vietnam prop firm restrictions FAQ
How many prop firms restrict traders from Vietnam?
BestProps verified 16 current firms with a complete restriction affecting at least one market covered on this page.
Does a restricted country always block the evaluation purchase?
Most policies on this page block new accounts or platform access. Some firms also consider citizenship, travel location, payout access, or the live-account stage, so the official policy remains the final source.
Are partial country limits included in the main list?
No. A firm that still allows an evaluation, simulated funded account, or payouts is not counted as completely restricted merely because its live-account path or one platform is unavailable.
Can a VPN make a restricted trader eligible?
No. Firms verify identity, residence, payment details, and login patterns. Concealing location can lead to account closure, payout denial, or loss of fees.
Are prop firm payouts treated like local brokerage gains?
Not necessarily. Evaluation payouts may be contractual or business income rather than gains from securities held in a brokerage account. Ask a local tax professional and keep complete records.
When did BestProps check these country policies?
The official sources on this page were checked on August 8, 2026. Recheck them immediately before purchase because firms and service providers can change eligibility lists.
