Prop Firms Restricted in Sudan

TL;DR: 30 BestProps-listed firms currently publish a complete restriction affecting traders in Sudan. The verified list includes futures, forex and CFD, and crypto programs and links each firm to its BestProps profile and current policy. Sudan’s targeted sanctions, foreign-exchange controls, and virtual-asset ban are explained separately because they can affect payment and payout access even when a website is visible.

This is a restricted-firm list. Firms that currently accept Sudan residents are not included. Product-only limits and live-account-only limits are not counted as complete bans.

Why prop firms restrict Sudan traders

Sudan is not under the same broad U.S. embargo that applied before 2017, and its State Sponsor of Terrorism designation was rescinded in 2020. Targeted U.S. measures remain under the Sudan and Darfur program against specified people and entities connected with the conflict and destabilizing activity.

Prop firms may still apply a complete Sudan ban because a broker, market-data vendor, KYC provider, bank, card processor, or payout partner will not support the country. BestProps therefore relies on each firm’s current policy rather than describing every Sudan transaction as prohibited by sanctions.

Sudan foreign exchange and virtual-asset rules

The Central Bank of Sudan administers foreign-exchange dealing through local laws, regulations, licensed banks, and exchange businesses. A resident should not assume that paying an overseas evaluation fee or receiving a foreign payout is treated like an ordinary domestic card purchase. The purpose of the transfer, the funding source, the institution handling it, and the documentation requested by the bank can all matter.

The central bank’s December 2022 circular prohibits dealing in virtual assets. It says virtual assets are not classified as money or property under the cited Sudanese framework, are not issued by a licensed central authority, and carry high price, fraud, cyber, and money-laundering risks. That makes a crypto evaluation fee or crypto payout a separate local-law problem even if a crypto prop firm would otherwise accept the account.

Sudan’s U.S. sanctions position is targeted rather than a simple country-wide commercial ban. OFAC says the broad restrictions under the former Sudanese Sanctions Regulations were revoked, while current authorities address designated people and entities connected to Sudan’s conflict and Darfur. Firms can still choose broader private restrictions, and their service providers may use conservative screening that blocks the country entirely.

Banking and internet disruptions caused by the conflict can create practical failures that a country-policy page cannot predict. A trader could pass a simulated evaluation but still be unable to complete video KYC, receive a one-time passcode, document a residential address, or receive a payout through the named provider. Confirm the entire path before paying, not only the signup form.

A prop account generally records simulated trades under a private contract and does not give the user ownership of the displayed currency, futures contract, or cryptoasset. Keep the agreement, policy, payment proof, and payout records, and ask a Sudanese legal or tax professional how any foreign-source reward should be handled.

What Sudan traders should check before checkout

  • Confirm that both citizenship and residence are eligible.
  • Check the evaluation, simulated funded, live-funded, and payout rules separately.
  • Use your real address and identity documents. A VPN does not change KYC eligibility.
  • Confirm the payout provider supports your country and expected currency.
  • Save a dated copy of the policy and checkout terms before paying.
  • Confirm local foreign-exchange, tax, securities, and crypto rules with a qualified professional.

Sudan prop firm restrictions FAQ

How many prop firms restrict traders from Sudan?

BestProps verified 30 current firms with a complete restriction affecting at least one market covered on this page.

Does a restricted country always block the evaluation purchase?

Most policies on this page block new accounts or platform access. Some firms also consider citizenship, travel location, payout access, or the live-account stage, so the official policy remains the final source.

Are partial country limits included in the main list?

No. A firm that still allows an evaluation, simulated funded account, or payouts is not counted as completely restricted merely because its live-account path or one platform is unavailable.

Can a VPN make a restricted trader eligible?

No. Firms verify identity, residence, payment details, and login patterns. Concealing location can lead to account closure, payout denial, or loss of fees.

Are prop firm payouts treated like local brokerage gains?

Not necessarily. Evaluation payouts may be contractual or business income rather than gains from securities held in a brokerage account. Ask a local tax professional and keep complete records.

When did BestProps check these country policies?

The official sources on this page were checked on August 8, 2026. Recheck them immediately before purchase because firms and service providers can change eligibility lists.
