TL;DR: 29 BestProps-listed firms currently publish a complete restriction affecting traders in Myanmar, which some policies still label Burma. The verified list covers futures, forex and CFD, and crypto programs and links to each firm’s current first-party source. Myanmar’s virtual-asset warnings, targeted U.S. measures, and Yangon Stock Exchange are explained separately.

This is a restricted-firm list. Firms that currently accept Myanmar residents are not included. Product-only limits and live-account-only limits are not counted as complete bans.

Why prop firms restrict Myanmar traders

Country lists do not use one name consistently. Some firms write Myanmar, others write Burma, and a few include both. BestProps treats those names as the same country but still requires an explicit current policy rather than assuming a restriction from a sanctions list or an old directory tag.

U.S. Burma-related sanctions target specified people, entities, and activity, including restrictions involving designated military-linked businesses. Prop firms may apply a broader Myanmar ban because their broker, KYC vendor, payment processor, market-data provider, or payout partner cannot support the country.

Myanmar crypto rules and local securities trading

Myanmar’s Central Bank has repeatedly warned the public not to buy, sell, transfer, or hold unauthorized cryptoassets. A November 2025 notice repeated that position, and earlier directives said digital currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum are not legal currencies and that financial institutions have not been authorized to deal in them. This is directly relevant to evaluation fees or payouts offered through USDT or another token.

The Ministry of Information has also published Central Bank notices describing account freezes and legal action involving illegal digital-currency trading and informal hundi transfers. A crypto payment option on an overseas prop firm’s checkout should not be treated as a lawful workaround for a blocked card or bank transfer.

Myanmar does have a domestic securities market. Yangon Stock Exchange publishes current market statistics and requires securities-account procedures for exchange trading. Buying a local listed share through the authorized market structure is different from a foreign prop evaluation, which usually records simulated trades and pays a contractual reward without giving the trader ownership of the displayed asset.

OFAC’s Burma program is targeted rather than a blanket statement that every Myanmar resident is prohibited from every transaction. It includes blocked-person rules and a directive concerning financial services to or for the benefit of Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise. A firm can nevertheless adopt a complete country ban as its own compliance and service-provider policy.

Before paying, confirm how the firm identifies Myanmar or Burma in its form, whether both citizenship and residence are eligible, what proof of address is accepted, and whether the named payout vendor supports the country. Keep the policy, contract, payment record, and any KYC response for local legal and tax review.

What Myanmar traders should check before checkout

  • Confirm that both citizenship and residence are eligible.
  • Check the evaluation, simulated funded, live-funded, and payout rules separately.
  • Use your real address and identity documents. A VPN does not change KYC eligibility.
  • Confirm the payout provider supports your country and expected currency.
  • Save a dated copy of the policy and checkout terms before paying.
  • Confirm local foreign-exchange, tax, securities, and crypto rules with a qualified professional.

Myanmar prop firm restrictions FAQ

How many prop firms restrict traders from Myanmar?

BestProps verified 29 current firms with a complete restriction affecting at least one market covered on this page.

Does a restricted country always block the evaluation purchase?

Most policies on this page block new accounts or platform access. Some firms also consider citizenship, travel location, payout access, or the live-account stage, so the official policy remains the final source.

Are partial country limits included in the main list?

No. A firm that still allows an evaluation, simulated funded account, or payouts is not counted as completely restricted merely because its live-account path or one platform is unavailable.

Can a VPN make a restricted trader eligible?

No. Firms verify identity, residence, payment details, and login patterns. Concealing location can lead to account closure, payout denial, or loss of fees.

Are prop firm payouts treated like local brokerage gains?

Not necessarily. Evaluation payouts may be contractual or business income rather than gains from securities held in a brokerage account. Ask a local tax professional and keep complete records.

When did BestProps check these country policies?

The official sources on this page were checked on August 8, 2026. Recheck them immediately before purchase because firms and service providers can change eligibility lists.
