Why prop firms restrict Mali traders
OFAC’s Mali-related sanctions target specified people and conduct connected with threats to peace and security; they are not a blanket declaration that every Mali resident is blocked. Prop firms may still choose a wider country restriction because their brokers, clearing firms, market-data providers, identity vendors, banks, and payout providers use their own risk rules.
FundedNext is excluded even though its futures program restricts Mali because its CFD program on the same BestProps profile still accepts Mali residents. BestProps requires the restriction to cover every current program represented by one profile before calling the firm fully restricted.
Mali sanctions, regional currency, and market access
OFAC’s Mali sanctions program provides authority to block designated people and entities connected with specified conduct. It is not a universal block on all residents. The dated firm policy beside each name remains the evidence that the company itself refuses Mali accounts.
Mali is part of the West African Monetary Union and uses the CFA franc issued by BCEAO. An overseas prop fee or reward can therefore involve an authorized bank, foreign-currency conversion, payment documentation, and a payout provider that supports Mali, even when the evaluation is priced in U.S. dollars or euros.
Mali investors can access the regional BRVM through authorized intermediaries. BRVM publishes a defined trading session with pre-opening, continuous trading, and closing phases. Buying a listed regional security through that structure is different from purchasing a simulated overseas prop evaluation.
A prop account normally records simulated futures, forex, CFD, or crypto positions. The trader does not own the instrument shown on screen, and any reward depends on the firm’s contract, trading rules, identity checks, sanctions screening, and available payment rail.
Before paying from Mali, confirm residence and citizenship eligibility, the legal entity in the agreement, the accepted identity documents, and the named payout provider. Save the policy, receipt, account statements, and reward records, then obtain current local tax and foreign-exchange advice.
What Mali traders should check before checkout
- Confirm that both citizenship and residence are eligible.
- Check the evaluation, simulated funded, live-funded, and payout rules separately.
- Use your real address and identity documents. A VPN does not change KYC eligibility.
- Confirm the payout provider supports your country and expected currency.
- Save a dated copy of the policy and checkout terms before paying.
- Confirm local foreign-exchange, tax, securities, and crypto rules with a qualified professional.
Mali prop firm restrictions FAQ
How many prop firms restrict traders from Mali?
BestProps verified 15 current firms with a complete restriction affecting at least one market covered on this page.
Does a restricted country always block the evaluation purchase?
Most policies on this page block new accounts or platform access. Some firms also consider citizenship, travel location, payout access, or the live-account stage, so the official policy remains the final source.
Are partial country limits included in the main list?
No. A firm that still allows an evaluation, simulated funded account, or payouts is not counted as completely restricted merely because its live-account path or one platform is unavailable.
Can a VPN make a restricted trader eligible?
No. Firms verify identity, residence, payment details, and login patterns. Concealing location can lead to account closure, payout denial, or loss of fees.
Are prop firm payouts treated like local brokerage gains?
Not necessarily. Evaluation payouts may be contractual or business income rather than gains from securities held in a brokerage account. Ask a local tax professional and keep complete records.
When did BestProps check these country policies?
The official sources on this page were checked on August 8, 2026. Recheck them immediately before purchase because firms and service providers can change eligibility lists.
