Prop Firms Restricted in Cuba

Home » Prop Firm Restricted Countries » Prop Firms Restricted in Cuba

TL;DR: 28 BestProps-listed firms currently publish a complete restriction affecting traders in Cuba. The verified list covers futures, forex and CFD, and crypto programs and links to each firm’s current policy. Cuba’s sanctions, card-access, and virtual-asset rules are reviewed separately because they can affect checkout and payouts even outside the firm’s own ban.

This is a restricted-firm list. Firms that currently accept Cuba residents are not included. Product-only limits and live-account-only limits are not counted as complete bans.

Why prop firms restrict Cuba traders

The U.S. Treasury continues to administer the Cuban Assets Control Regulations and other Cuba-related measures. U.S.-connected firms and service providers may need to consider those rules, while non-U.S. firms may still face restrictions from banks, card networks, KYC vendors, brokers, and payout partners.

A firm’s country block is not a legal conclusion about every transaction involving Cuba. BestProps includes a company only when that company’s current first-party policy names Cuba, then links the policy so readers can check the exact residence, citizenship, and travel rules.

Cuba payment access and virtual-asset rules

Payment access is a central practical issue for Cuba-based traders. In June 2026, Cuba’s central bank warned that changes involving Visa and Mastercard would affect continued use of those cards in the country. A trader should not assume that an evaluation checkout or recurring fee will process merely because the page displays a card option.

Cuba regulates virtual-asset activity rather than treating every crypto transfer as an unrestricted workaround. Resolution 215 of 2021 established a framework for authorized virtual assets and licensed service providers. In March 2026, the central bank authorized ten Cuban entities to use cryptocurrency for certain foreign payments through licensed providers.

That framework does not mean an offshore crypto prop firm or a crypto payout is automatically available to every resident. The prop firm’s eligibility rule, the wallet or exchange’s country policy, sanctions screening, and Cuban rules can all apply to the same payout chain.

A prop evaluation also differs from buying a locally available financial asset. The trader usually pays for access to a simulated performance test and receives a contractual reward if eligible. The account does not itself create ownership of the displayed futures, currency pair, or cryptoasset.

What Cuba traders should check before checkout

  • Confirm that both citizenship and residence are eligible.
  • Check the evaluation, simulated funded, live-funded, and payout rules separately.
  • Use your real address and identity documents. A VPN does not change KYC eligibility.
  • Confirm the payout provider supports your country and expected currency.
  • Save a dated copy of the policy and checkout terms before paying.
  • Confirm local foreign-exchange, tax, securities, and crypto rules with a qualified professional.

Cuba prop firm restrictions FAQ

How many prop firms restrict traders from Cuba?

BestProps verified 28 current firms with a complete restriction affecting at least one market covered on this page.

Does a restricted country always block the evaluation purchase?

Most policies on this page block new accounts or platform access. Some firms also consider citizenship, travel location, payout access, or the live-account stage, so the official policy remains the final source.

Are partial country limits included in the main list?

No. A firm that still allows an evaluation, simulated funded account, or payouts is not counted as completely restricted merely because its live-account path or one platform is unavailable.

Can a VPN make a restricted trader eligible?

No. Firms verify identity, residence, payment details, and login patterns. Concealing location can lead to account closure, payout denial, or loss of fees.

Are prop firm payouts treated like local brokerage gains?

Not necessarily. Evaluation payouts may be contractual or business income rather than gains from securities held in a brokerage account. Ask a local tax professional and keep complete records.

When did BestProps check these country policies?

The official sources on this page were checked on August 8, 2026. Recheck them immediately before purchase because firms and service providers can change eligibility lists.
