Why prop firms restrict Belarus traders

U.S. Belarus sanctions target specified people, entities, sectors, and property interests under several legal authorities. The program also contains general licenses and has changed during 2026. Firms and financial-service providers may apply a broader Belarus country restriction because they do not want to distinguish every customer, bank, owner, and transaction path.

Cards, bank transfers, KYC vendors, market-data agreements, and payout providers can each impose their own geographic coverage. BestProps therefore uses a firm’s explicit current policy for inclusion and does not assume that every Belarus resident is prohibited solely because a sanctions program exists.

Belarus token and foreign-exchange rules

Belarus permits individuals to hold and conduct certain transactions with digital tokens, but the Ministry of Taxes and Duties explains that Decree No. 367 requires purchases and sales involving fiat or electronic money to go through authorized operators connected with the Belarus Hi-Tech Park. Transactions that violate those channel requirements are illegal and prohibited.

That rule is directly relevant to crypto-denominated evaluation fees and payouts. A prop firm sending crypto to a personal wallet does not by itself show that the resident can lawfully convert, sell, or receive fiat through the chosen route. The approved Belarus operator and the source of funds may still matter.

The National Bank describes Belarus as using a floating exchange-rate regime and notes that it can intervene through trading on the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange to smooth sharp fluctuations. An overseas evaluation priced in dollars or euros can therefore create exchange-rate and bank-processing costs beyond the advertised fee.

A local exchange or authorized token operator is not the same as a foreign prop evaluation. Most prop accounts record simulated trades and offer a contractual reward if the rules are met; they do not give the user ownership of the displayed security, derivative, currency, or cryptoasset.

Before paying, confirm the firm accepts both Belarusian citizenship and residence, the payment processor will complete the purchase, and the payout provider can legally serve the account. Save every policy, receipt, KYC decision, and payout statement, then obtain current local tax and legal advice.

What Belarus traders should check before checkout

  • Confirm that both citizenship and residence are eligible.
  • Check the evaluation, simulated funded, live-funded, and payout rules separately.
  • Use your real address and identity documents. A VPN does not change KYC eligibility.
  • Confirm the payout provider supports your country and expected currency.
  • Save a dated copy of the policy and checkout terms before paying.
  • Confirm local foreign-exchange, tax, securities, and crypto rules with a qualified professional.

Belarus prop firm restrictions FAQ

How many prop firms restrict traders from Belarus?

BestProps verified 26 current firms with a complete restriction affecting at least one market covered on this page.

Does a restricted country always block the evaluation purchase?

Most policies on this page block new accounts or platform access. Some firms also consider citizenship, travel location, payout access, or the live-account stage, so the official policy remains the final source.

Are partial country limits included in the main list?

No. A firm that still allows an evaluation, simulated funded account, or payouts is not counted as completely restricted merely because its live-account path or one platform is unavailable.

Can a VPN make a restricted trader eligible?

No. Firms verify identity, residence, payment details, and login patterns. Concealing location can lead to account closure, payout denial, or loss of fees.

Are prop firm payouts treated like local brokerage gains?

Not necessarily. Evaluation payouts may be contractual or business income rather than gains from securities held in a brokerage account. Ask a local tax professional and keep complete records.

When did BestProps check these country policies?

The official sources on this page were checked on August 8, 2026. Recheck them immediately before purchase because firms and service providers can change eligibility lists.
