TL;DR: 28 BestProps-listed firms currently publish a complete restriction affecting traders in Afghanistan. The verified list covers futures, forex and CFD, and crypto programs. The local section distinguishes a firm’s private country policy from Afghanistan’s rules for online exchange activity and from targeted, rather than comprehensive, U.S. sanctions.
This is a restricted-firm list. Firms that currently accept Afghanistan residents are not included. Product-only limits and live-account-only limits are not counted as complete bans.

Why prop firms restrict Afghanistan traders
Afghanistan is frequently placed on high-risk country lists by brokers and payment providers, but the U.S. Treasury states that Afghanistan is not subject to comprehensive OFAC sanctions. Targeted sanctions still apply to the Taliban, the Haqqani Network, and other designated people and entities, with general licenses covering specified activity.
Firms may nevertheless impose a complete Afghanistan restriction because their broker, card processor, KYC vendor, market-data provider, or payout partner will not support the country. BestProps lists only firms whose own current policy says so and does not present the restriction as a blanket statement of Afghan or U.S. law.
Afghanistan online exchange and payment rules
Da Afghanistan Bank stated in March 2024 that it had not licensed any person or company to conduct online exchange activity and described such unlicensed activity as illegal. That warning is highly relevant to websites that present themselves as online forex exchanges or investment services.
A prop evaluation may describe itself as simulated training rather than brokerage or exchange activity, but that label does not automatically settle local law. Residents should ask DAB or a qualified Afghan lawyer how a specific fee, trading interface, and payout arrangement is classified before paying.
DAB publishes licensed banks and non-bank financial institutions, including foreign-exchange dealers, money-service providers, electronic-money institutions, and payment institutions. Using a licensed local provider for currency conversion or receipt of funds is different from assuming that an offshore platform can send a payout into Afghanistan.
OFAC’s current guidance also matters because it says Afghanistan is not comprehensively sanctioned while transactions involving blocked people or entities can still be prohibited. This is one reason a company’s risk team may choose a country-wide block even though the government rule itself is more targeted.

What Afghanistan traders should check before checkout
- Confirm that both citizenship and residence are eligible.
- Check the evaluation, simulated funded, live-funded, and payout rules separately.
- Use your real address and identity documents. A VPN does not change KYC eligibility.
- Confirm the payout provider supports your country and expected currency.
- Save a dated copy of the policy and checkout terms before paying.
- Confirm local foreign-exchange, tax, securities, and crypto rules with a qualified professional.
Afghanistan prop firm restrictions FAQ
How many prop firms restrict traders from Afghanistan?
BestProps verified 28 current firms with a complete restriction affecting at least one market covered on this page.
Does a restricted country always block the evaluation purchase?
Most policies on this page block new accounts or platform access. Some firms also consider citizenship, travel location, payout access, or the live-account stage, so the official policy remains the final source.
Are partial country limits included in the main list?
No. A firm that still allows an evaluation, simulated funded account, or payouts is not counted as completely restricted merely because its live-account path or one platform is unavailable.
Can a VPN make a restricted trader eligible?
No. Firms verify identity, residence, payment details, and login patterns. Concealing location can lead to account closure, payout denial, or loss of fees.
Are prop firm payouts treated like local brokerage gains?
Not necessarily. Evaluation payouts may be contractual or business income rather than gains from securities held in a brokerage account. Ask a local tax professional and keep complete records.
When did BestProps check these country policies?
The official sources on this page were checked on August 8, 2026. Recheck them immediately before purchase because firms and service providers can change eligibility lists.
