How we ranked the cheapest prop firms by all-in cost to first payout

Five-step ranking process behind the cheapest prop firms list: fees, the rule checked on evaluation and funded, payout terms, Trustpilot sentiment, and the firm’s own videos
The five checks behind every ranking in the Prop Trader’s Guide.

Every page-one “cheapest prop firm” article compares the sticker price of the smallest account, and every one is written by a prop firm. We priced two products at each of sixteen firms (the cheapest SKU and the product closest to $50K), opened the checkout, and stacked everything paid before the first payout lands:

All-in to first payout = evaluation fee (one cycle, or two if monthly) + activation or funded-account fee + one reset (or a second purchase where no reset exists) + mandatory data and platform fees + payout fee

Normalised cost = all-in ÷ (maximum drawdown in dollars ÷ 1,000)

  1. Two scenarios. Scenario A is a first-try pass at the price you can get today (public promo code applied, list price in brackets, one monthly cycle). Scenario B adds one reset, a second purchase where no reset is sold, or a second monthly cycle at list.
  2. Per $1,000 of drawdown. A $13 account with $60 of loss room is not cheaper than a $59 account with $1,000, so we divide the scenario A cost by the maximum drawdown in dollars.
  3. Payout side counted. Profit split, first-payout minimum and cap, the payout fee and whether the fee is refunded, and when. A 3% payout fee and a fourth-payout refund are costs a sticker price never shows.
  4. “Not published” stays “Not published.” Where a firm’s pages say nothing about a fee, we record the gap rather than assume $0. Only an explicit statement earns a $0 cell.
  5. Trust gate. A firm needs a published Trustpilot score to rank in the top tier; a hidden rating drops it below every published one regardless of price. Videos are from the firm’s own channel only.
Trust finding

Five of the sixteen cheapest prop firms we checked have their Trustpilot rating hidden. Phidias, Maven Trading, Alpha Capital Group, Goat Funded Trader and Blue Guardian all show Trustpilot’s “rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines” banner. Three of the five publish page-one “cheapest prop firm” articles that rank their own product first. We list each with its review count and no score.

DNA Funded was priced but not ranked because new orders are paused (see also checked).

Cheapest prop firms compared on fees, activation, resets, splits and cost per $1,000 of drawdown

Ranked by scenario A all-in cost per $1,000 of drawdown within three tiers: firms with a published Trustpilot rating whose sticker is close to the real cost, firms with a hidden rating, then the four cautionary products whose sticker is not the cost. All cells reflect the firm’s live pages and checkout on September 27, 2026.

Cheapest prop firms ranked by all-in cost to first payout

Promo prices show the code with the list price in brackets. A is a first-try pass at today’s price on the floor product, B adds one reset or re-buy (or a second monthly cycle at list); the figure after the semicolon is scenario A on the ~$50K product.

The5ers is the cheapest prop firm overall with its $19 High Stakes $2.5K evaluation

Verdict: High Stakes $2.5K (NEW tier) is $19 one-time with no code, an explicit $0 activation fee and 70% of the fee paid back with the first payout, on a 4.7/5 profile of 38,584 reviews. The trade-off is $250 of total loss room, two phases with three profitable days each and a 3.5% payout commission.

Video: “Industry’s Lowest $100K for Only $149 Program – The5ers,” The5ers official YouTube channel, 2026-07-23. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: The only pricing video on The5ers’ official channel; it covers the Summer Plan promo, not the $19 High Stakes floor.

The High Stakes selector prices the $2.5K NEW tier at $19 one-time (Classic $22, $5K $39, $50K NEW $249) with no promo code on September 27, 2026. Activation is $0 by the firm’s FAQ, cTrader adds $10, and there is no reset: a breach means a new $19 purchase. Our record: The5ers status.

Two steps (10% then 5%) each need three profitable days of at least 0.5%; the funded account pays 80/20, first request 14 days after activation, $150 minimum, with a 3.5% commission on payouts. 70% of the fee is refunded in cash with the first payout.

Trader sentiment: 38,584 Trustpilot reviews on September 27, 2026, 4.7/5. Praise: fast, on-time payouts; responsive support; clear rules. Complaints: MT5 price-feed discrepancy complaints from late September 2026; a Phase-2 termination for alleged copy trading. More context: The5ers pulse.

  • Choose it when: you want the lowest sticker price in forex with a published rating and most of the fee back at the first payout, and can hit 10% then 5% inside a $250 loss box.
  • Watch out for: there is no reset, the 80% split on a $250 target leaves about $193 after commission, and the first payout waits 14 days after funding.
  • Current offers: see our The5ers deals page.

Tradeify is the cheapest futures prop firm in this post on a one-time fee with Growth 25K

Verdict: Growth 25K is $99 list, $59 with code SEP through September 30, 2026, with an explicit $0 activation fee, free Level 1 data, a $60 reset and no rebill, so $59 to $119 buys a first payout at 90/10, the cheapest one-time futures evaluation among the firms priced in this post. Across every futures firm we priced, DayTraders.com 25K Static is cheaper still at $40 plus a $5 activation, $45 to first payout; it is ranked in our cheapest futures prop firms guide. Growth is cheap because the funded account keeps a 35% consistency rule and a $1,000 first-payout cap; Select 25K costs $10 more and drops the funded rule.

Video: “Ep. 8 | Get Funded in 24 Hours (Tradeify Growth Plan Explained),” Tradeify official YouTube channel, 2026-01-12. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Tradeify TV’s own Growth-plan explainer covers the product this post prices and states “zero activation fees.”

The pricing reference and homepage cards agree: Growth 25K $99 list / $59 with SEP (ends September 30, 11:59 PM EST), Growth 50K $145 / $87, Select 25K $109 / $65, Select 50K $165 / $99. Activation is $0 on every product, resets are fixed at $60 (Growth 25K) and $95 (Growth 50K) and never discounted, and all plans are one-time. Our record: Tradeify rules.

Growth pays 90/10 after five profitable days of more than $100 (25K), a 35% consistency check and a balance of at least $26,500; the first payout is capped at $1,000, paid through Rise with no Tradeify-side fee. See Tradeify payouts.

Trader sentiment: 4,828 Trustpilot reviews on September 27, 2026, 4.4/5. Praise: fast support with named agents; payouts described as fast and transparent. Complaints: funded accounts removed during KYC or compliance review with no rule cited (several one-star reviews in late September 2026). More context: Tradeify pulse.

  • Choose it when: you trade futures, want a one-time price with no activation or renewal charge and a published rating, and can live with a capped, consistency-gated first payout.
  • Watch out for: the EOD trailing drawdown is enforced in real time against open P&L, and the reset is never discounted.
  • Current offers: see our Tradeify deals page.

TradeDay is the cheapest monthly prop firm and the cheapest $50K per dollar of drawdown

Verdict: Quick Pay Intraday 25K is $45 a month with code TDNEW ($100 list), $0 activation and a $45 reset, and the 50K is $59 a month ($131 list) with $2,000 of drawdown, the lowest cost per $1,000 of drawdown at $50K in this post. It ranks below the one-time firms because the fee rebills every 30 days and the funded split is 50/50 until the account holds $4,000 of profit.

Video: “Henry's Story – The Best Prop Firm for Getting Paid,” TradeDay official YouTube channel, 2026-09-07. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: TradeDay’s channel has no pricing video; this trader-story interview about day-one payouts is the closest official piece.

Homepage cards on tradeday.com show “Now 55% OFF! Accounts from just $45!” with TDNEW: Quick Pay Intraday 25K $100 to $45 a month, 50K $131 to $59, resets $45 / $59, “No activation fee” on every card. Whether TDNEW applies to the renewal is not published, so a second cycle is $100 / $131 at list. Our record: TradeDay rules.

Quick Pay Funded Sim pays from day one, $250 minimum, within 24 hours on business days, at 50/50 until profit exceeds $4,000 and 80/20 above it. See TradeDay payouts.

Trader sentiment: 1,439 Trustpilot reviews on September 27, 2026, 4.6/5. Praise: daily payouts approved within hours; simple rules. Complaints: a billing dispute over a CoPilot subscription charged after cancellation. More context: TradeDay pulse.

  • Choose it when: you can pass inside one 30-day cycle, want the most drawdown per dollar at $50K, and accept a 50/50 split on the first $4,000.
  • Watch out for: the fee is non-refundable and rebills every 30 days, and the $1,000 intraday-trailing drawdown is the tightest of the 25K variants.
  • Current offers: see our TradeDay deals page.

MyFundedFutures is the cheapest prop firm with a 4.9 Trustpilot score on Builder 25K

Verdict: Builder 25K is $105 one-time, $63 with the lifetime code CLUB, with an explicit $0 activation fee and no data fee, on the highest-rated profile in this post (4.9/5, 22,008 reviews). It is cheap because Builder is the restricted plan: 80/20, a 50% consistency rule on every funded payout cycle and a $1,000 cap per payout; Rapid 25K is $145 / $87 for 90/10 daily payouts with no funded rule.

Video: “Episode 08 – MFFU Plans Explained 📈,” MyFundedFutures official YouTube channel, 2026-07-05. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: MFFU’s official plans explainer; it predates the August 2026 move to one-time pricing, so ignore any price it mentions.

The Builder plan page and checkout show Builder 25K $105 one-time / $63 with CLUB, Builder 50K $153 / $92, Rapid 50K $209 / $125; the logged-out checkout renders CLUB at 50% ($52.50) for a first eval. All purchases since August 25, 2026 are one-time with $0 activation; no reset price is published. Our record: MyFundedFutures rules.

Builder pays 80/20 every 48 hours after clearing a $1,100 buffer, two qualifying days and 50% consistency, capped at $1,000 per payout on 25K; Rapid pays 90/10 daily with no consistency rule. See MyFundedFutures payouts.

Trader sentiment: 22,008 Trustpilot reviews on September 27, 2026, 4.9/5. Praise: named support agents resolving issues within minutes; payouts arriving in seconds. Complaints: funded accounts breached or closed for reasons traders dispute; KYC and device-sharing bans. More context: MyFundedFutures pulse.

  • Choose it when: you want the strongest published review base at a one-time price, and a capped 80/20 payout ladder is acceptable.
  • Watch out for: no reset price is published and Rapid has no reset, so a breach doubles the cost; a seven-day inactivity rule applies even to sim-funded accounts.
  • Current offers: see our MyFundedFutures deals page.

FundingPips is the cheapest prop firm with weekly payouts on its 2 Step Pro $5K

Verdict: 2 Step Pro $5K is $29 one-time at checkout ($23.20 with the first-purchase code HELLO), the cheapest of its three 2 Step variants, on a 4.5/5 profile of 69,372 reviews. Pro buys the price with a 6% static max loss ($300), an 80% weekly split and no fee refund; the activation fee is not published and a Phase 1 reset is a 15%-off re-buy at $24.65.

Video: “FundingPips Pro is crafted for traders looking for a more affordable 2-Step Model 🫵🏻 #fundingpips,” FundingPips official YouTube channel, 2025-04-25. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: The only official-channel video about the cost of the exact product priced here, a Short on 2 Step Pro.

The homepage selector and checkout on fundingpips.com price 2 Step Pro at $29 ($5K) and $224 ($50K); 2 Step Standard is $36 / $299 and 2 Step Flex $32 / $269. HELLO takes 20% off a first purchase. No page states an activation fee, so we record it as not published. Resets are discounted re-buys within seven days of a breach; cTrader adds $20. Our record: FundingPips rules.
