TradingFXVPS HFT Standard+ has the lowest documented first paid-month LIST subtotal in our managed MT5 group at $33, followed by FXVPS Core at $39 and ForexVPS Core at $40. TradingVPS Chicago Ryzen Starter is a separate $19 NinjaTrader option for one simple chart, not a cheaper substitute for a larger copier stack. These are four qualified hosting workflows, not four universally permitted prop-firm connections. All prices remain fee-only, with unpriced required items marked, so there is no verified all-in cheapest provider. Eight other providers have full checked comparisons below, including Lightsail, whose supplied Windows OS licence does not establish the intended non-administrative trading-desktop entitlement. Check the firm’s trading, login, KYC and location rules before buying.

Quick picks for VPS providers for prop firm traders
- Single MT5 on the lowest known subtotal
TradingFXVPS HFT Standard+ at $33 LIST. Supplied Windows licence and installation are documented, but paid-plan setup, explicit IPv4 version and tax remain unpriced.
- Single MT5 with a published static IPv4
FXVPS Core at $39 LIST. Windows, setup and static IPv4 are expressly included; buyer-specific taxes are not established. Current hardware supports the documented light single-EA workflow, not every automation workload.
- MT5 with managed installation support
ForexVPS Core at $40 LIST. Conservative card guidance is one to two platforms. Dedicated IP does not promise permanent IP, and FTMO CFD or ThinkCapital conditions still decide the location and provider.
- One simple NinjaTrader chart in Chicago
TradingVPS Ryzen Starter at $19 LIST. Windows and public IPv4 are included. This is below NinjaTrader’s recommended quad-core and 8GB specification; setup and taxes remain unknown.
- Self-managed Windows clouds
No general cloud qualified for the complete licensed trading-desktop test here. Lightsail, Kamatera and Serverspace remain useful checked contrasts, with their exact licence, connection and billing gaps visible.
The price order restarts within each supported workflow. A server able to open one MetaTrader terminal is not interchangeable with a NinjaTrader workspace, multiple terminals, DLL-dependent EAs or a trade copier. The HFT wording in a plan name does not grant permission for high-frequency trading. More expensive hardware also cannot override a firm’s prohibited-strategy, account-sharing or residency rules.
How we compared VPS providers for prop firm trading
We compared 12 hosting providers and 97 named configurations using their current public product, installation, licence, billing and legal pages. A qualifying selection needed a current named Windows plan, supplied Windows-licensing evidence, a documented desktop or software-installation route, and evidence for the limited trading workflow being compared. We did not treat an OS menu, an RDP screenshot or a provider’s platform logo as proof of every application-use entitlement. A plan with unresolved evidence remains checked, not described as illegal or universally incompatible.
For each qualifying group, the ordering uses the first full paid month at the published monthly LIST price, plus proven required Windows, IP, setup and other charges. Included items add no extra charge only where the source says so. Unpublished amounts are separate unknowns, never zeroes. Recurring monthly subtotals break a tie before alphabetical order; the qualified rows have no ties. Introductory trials, coupon prices and annual monthly equivalents do not set that order. No compared configuration has a verified all-in first-month amount.
We did not buy a plan, log into a server, install a platform, enter account credentials, run a strategy, measure ping or reproduce an outage. Compatibility is documented suitability, not a deployment benchmark. CPU clocks, dedicated resources, terminal counts, migration promises and advertised latency remain provider claims with the limitations below. Public pricing availability is not a completed checkout or a promise of stock in every city.
Hosting sources, firm connection policies and review pages were read on October 8, 2026. Video upload dates and older-review limitations are retained. The permission matrix covers six firms and 45 named product/stage rows; where a general firm FAQ does not individually name a product, the application is explicitly an inference rather than a product-specific approval. Customer platform, market-data, EA and copier licences remain separate from hosting.

The shared series graphic refers to challenge fees and payouts. Those are not the price-ranking criteria for these hosting plans. For this guide the equivalent checks are the Windows hosting bill, firm-specific connection restrictions, service-credit terms, dated customer sentiment and official setup material. No provider paid for placement.
VPS plan comparison by supported trading workflow
| Provider and plan | Workflow group | Supported scope | CPU / RAM / disk | First / renewal LIST | Unpriced items |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TradingFXVPS HFT Standard+ Plan | Managed MT5 | Single light MT5 | 2 CPU / 2.5GB / 35GB | $33 / $33 fee-only | IPv4 status, paid-plan setup and taxes unknown |
| FXVPS Core VPS | Managed MT5 | Single light MT5 | 1 CPU / 2GB / 40GB | $39 / $39 fee-only | Buyer-specific taxes unknown |
| ForexVPS.net Core | Managed MT5 | Single light MT5 | 2 CPU / 4GB / 100GB | $40 / $40 fee-only | Setup, IPv4 version/fees and taxes unknown |
| TradingVPS Ryzen – Starter | Managed NinjaTrader | Chicago, one simple chart | 1 CPU / 4GB / 100GB | $19 / $19 fee-only | Setup and taxes unknown |
The first three rows are an MT5 comparison in $33, $39, $40 order. TradingVPS Ryzen Starter is the sole qualifying NinjaTrader comparison, not a global fourth-place result and not a promise that it can run the same workload. A higher unknown setup charge or different tax treatment could change the actual cash order. Check the selected plan, OS, city, IP version and billing period together on the final quote.
VPS uptime remedies and recovery comparison
| Provider and plan | IP continuity | Uptime remedy | Backup and restore | Support scope | Trading-loss cover |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TradingFXVPS HFT Standard+ Plan | Dedicated IP; IPv4/static/change status unconfirmed | 99.99% claim; credit amount and claim window unpublished | Four weekly off-site copies claimed; restore terms unknown | 24/7 hosting help; application and response scope differ | No challenge, payout or trading-loss repayment established |
| FXVPS Core VPS | Static IPv4 included; change guarantee unpublished | 99.99%; 10-100% future bill credits; claim within 30 days | Daily snapshots claimed; customer owns backup responsibility | 24/7 hosting help; application and response scope differ | No challenge, payout or trading-loss repayment established |
| ForexVPS.net Core | Dedicated IP, version unconfirmed; reassignment allowed | 99.99%; 10-100% steps; above 99.8% remedy unspecified | Automated backups; cadence, retention and restore costs unknown | 24/7 hosting help; application and response scope differ | No challenge, payout or trading-loss repayment established |
| TradingVPS Ryzen – Starter | One public IPv4; static continuity not promised | No contractual credits; marketing uptime is not a remedy | Daily backup article claim; customer must retain own backups | 24/7 hosting help; application and response scope differ | No challenge, payout or trading-loss repayment established |
Availability describes a defined part of a service over a defined period. A reachable RDP port is not evidence that MetaTrader is connected, NinjaTrader is receiving prices, a copier has one active leader, or protective orders are where you expect them. An advertised uptime percentage without a claim schedule is not a quantified refund. The individual terms below explain what is excluded, when to report, and whether a credit is cash, a future bill reduction or not published at all.
Windows VPS costs from the first paid month to renewal
The useful formula is server LIST plus required Windows licence plus required public IP plus setup plus other mandatory charges. Keep buyer-specific taxes and unpriced components beside the subtotal. Do not put an unknown into the sum as $0, and do not add a licence or address twice when its inclusion is proved. A monthly equivalent on an annual card describes a calculation, not the amount charged at the first renewal. A refundable deposit is cash you initially need, even if it may later return.
| Named plan | One paid month | Three paid months | Assumption |
|---|---|---|---|
| TradingFXVPS HFT Standard+ Plan | $33 | $99 | Known LIST subtotal only; same missing costs as Table A |
| FXVPS Core VPS | $39 | $117 | Known LIST subtotal only; same missing costs as Table A |
| ForexVPS.net Core | $40 | $120 | Known LIST subtotal only; same missing costs as Table A |
| TradingVPS Ryzen – Starter | $19 | $57 | Known LIST subtotal only; same missing costs as Table A |
TradingFXVPS Standard+ starts from $33, with supplied Windows included and a dedicated address on the card; paid-plan setup and explicit IPv4 status remain separate questions. Its trial page’s free-setup language is scoped to that trial, not proof of a zero standalone monthly setup bill. The $3.99 first week and $265.32 annual cash amount cannot replace the $33 regular monthly evidence. Standard, Advanced and Expert annual-only cards do not acquire an invented monthly LIST price by dividing by twelve.
FXVPS Core is $39 LIST plus expressly included Windows, setup and static IPv4, giving a $39 known subtotal before unresolved buyer taxes. The current $29 launch price is a secondary advertised offer, not the ranking price. Its offer schema carries December 31, 2026, while a visible expiry was not verified. The annual sale display gives a $294 cash calculation from $24.50 times twelve; checkout and renewal were not confirmed, and the two-months-free wording is not silently used to overwrite the actual attributes.
ForexVPS Core is $40 LIST with Windows and dedicated IP included. EXTRA10OFF gives the observed $36 secondary monthly display, with no published end date shown; it is not a guaranteed checkout saving. The observed $345.60 annual amount comes from the promotional $28.80 monthly equivalent. Undiscounted annual renewal cash is not established. The licensing comparison page supplies licensing evidence, but its older plan prices are not the current pricing source.
TradingVPS Ryzen Starter is $19 plus included Windows and public IPv4. A $16 annual equivalent would multiply to $192, but the final upfront invoice is Not published and the whole-dollar display does not match a precise 20% saving. Its $18 quarterly equivalent likewise implies $54 without proving the final quote. The XMAS20 banner was observed on October 8, not validated as a current checkout code. No annual saving is used to change the selected monthly amount.
Cloud and retail Windows VPS examples with unresolved costs
Beeks Bronze shows £31 base plus £13 Windows, so its recurring known subtotal is £44 excluding VAT. A required one-month refundable deposit has an unclear base. A £31 base-only deposit makes initial known cash £75; a £44 configured-bill deposit makes it £88. At the October 8 ECB reference crossrate, EUR/USD 1.1186 divided by EUR/GBP 0.84698, those are $99.05, $116.22 and $58.11 recurring. This is an informational conversion, not a bank or card quote, and neither conditional deposit case establishes an all-in winner.
Kamatera Basic’s $31 Windows-labelled card cannot safely become either $31 plus $10 or $31 plus $19 without resolving edition and inclusion. Its $8 per-user Remote Desktop CAL tariff is published, but application-use applicability is not established for this selected single-user desktop. Administration through RDP is not an automatic exemption for trading. Setup and the 2% invoice-administration clause also remain unresolved; adding a percentage to an uncertain base would make a false final bill.
Serverspace’s selected larger fixed configuration is provisionally $17.75 base plus $5.29 Windows, or $23.04. The rendered smaller Windows example suggests that $1.73 IPv4 could already be included; adding it again without an exact selected quote could double count. The $11.50 Terminal Services tariff is not waived or assumed mandatory for this specific desktop. Licence unit, edition, exact larger Windows quote and tax remain unknown. A balance top-up bonus is not a recurring plan-price reduction.
Lightsail Small 2GB Windows with public IPv4 is a documented $22 full-month bundle maximum, with the Windows OS licence and public IPv4 included. It is not the $8 IPv6-only Windows floor or a Linux price. Its trading-desktop application-use entitlement and any Lightsail-specific RDS CAL amount are Not published, so $22 is a checked infrastructure subtotal only. Hourly proration, transfer overage, snapshots and support do not erase that licensing question.

VPS server location and the actual trading endpoint

Your device-to-VPS link controls how quickly a remote screen and manual clicks reach the desktop. The VPS-to-broker or data-server path is a different link. A fast RDP session does not prove a fast order route; a nearby exchange does not identify the platform gateway assigned to your exact account. Ask for the actual hostname or endpoint, its approved region and the provider’s relevant location before committing to a long billing period.
For a futures desktop, Chicago/CME proximity can be relevant, but the data, authentication and order endpoints may be distinct. For an MT5 account, an LD4 server may be sensible only if it serves the broker account and complies with the firm’s region conditions. FTMO’s CFD geolocation rule can rule out a US location regardless of a vendor’s advertised New York ping. ThinkCapital’s provider exception can rule out a different host regardless of distance. No location is a residency workaround.
TradingFXVPS advertises 0.3-0.9ms network latency across named financial hubs and a separate from-0.60ms CME cross-connect claim. FXVPS lists FTMO London at 2.61ms, while its generic sub-0.5ms LD4 headline concerns different endpoints. ForexVPS says as low as 1ms and offers a broker-location tool, without a verified numeric pair for the selected account. TradingVPS’s sub-1ms claims lack the exact probe IP and measurement conditions in the material read. These figures describe provider statements, not our tests or a fill-quality ranking.
VPS latency diagnostics and connection test limits
Test the connection you intend to use, not only an IP in the same city. If the vendor permits diagnostic probes, compare repeated round-trip measurements, variation and packet loss during both quiet and busy periods, retaining the target and timestamps. A blocked ICMP reply is not by itself a failed trading connection. Platform logs and provider support can help distinguish transport problems from software or account authentication issues, but neither a single ping nor a minimum sample proves normal order slippage.
A meaningful before-and-after check holds account, platform version, data feed, order route and workload constant. Note whether a result is from your home to the VPS, VPS to a gateway, or a platform-reported connection. Do not sum unlike vendor minima into a fictional total. If your firm permits a move, retest after migration and repeat IP approval rather than presuming a nearby new machine behaves like the old one. We have not performed these measurements.
For the distinction between host latency and firm execution policy, see the prop-firm execution and low-latency comparison. This guide compares hosting workflows, not exchanges, brokers or firms on measured fill speed.
VPS hardware capacity for platforms bots and trade copiers
Start with the exact desktop application, operating system and intended work. NinjaTrader’s documented minimum includes 2GB RAM, while its recommendation is a quad-core processor and 8GB RAM. TradingVPS Starter’s one-core/4GB plan is a minimal one-chart selection, not the recommended multi-chart machine; Standard is a separately priced larger alternative. Lightsail Small also reaches the RAM minimum without proving sustained CPU or a usable trading licence. Hardware minima are not load-test results.
MetaQuotes’ MT5 installation documentation lists Windows 10/11 and workload-dependent hardware. It does not separately certify every vendor’s Windows Server version or a fixed terminal capacity. The vendors’ own installation help supports the supplied-server route being discussed. Broker installers, platform versions, .NET requirements, chart feeds, imported scripts and EA licences still need checking. A Windows server label alone is not the whole compatibility test.
One MT5 terminal can run several charts, but each indicator, EA, history download and symbol subscription contributes load. Terminal count, chart count, strategy count and prop-account count are different quantities. A guidance range is not permission to run every maximum simultaneously. ForexVPS’s conservative Core card says one to two platforms while its FAQ discusses higher optimized counts. FXVPS’s current one-EA Core guidance conflicts with an older larger-hardware recommendation. Use the limited documented scope, not whichever line sounds bigger.
A CPU advertised up to 5.7GHz describes a host or maximum capability, not a sustained allocation for every tenant. A vCPU count is not automatically the same as exclusive physical cores. Guaranteed resource language must be read alongside quotas and fair-use conditions. Fast NVMe storage can help file and history activity but does not eliminate CPU-heavy indicators, RAM pressure, network issues or broker-side delay. We did not test overselling, throttling or sustained clock speed.
VPS trade copier bot capacity and account growth
For a copier stack, identify one leader, the follower connection type and the allowed account ownership before selecting hardware. A browser platform, API connector, desktop plug-in and DLL-dependent copier have different prerequisites. Tradovate, Rithmic and TradingView names on a provider page do not supply data entitlements or mean that all native, web, API and desktop routes are identical. FXVM’s restricted Virtual Desktop does not become a general-install copier machine merely because it can open MetaTrader.
Growth in nominal funded account size is not automatically growth in computer load. Adding independent terminals, strategies, charts or data connections is. Schedule upgrades around allowed downtime and the next account stage; QuantVPS documents a new IP when support upgrades a server. On a replacement, pause copying, verify positions and protective orders, confirm the old leader is stopped and only then enable the new leader. Do not use a backup restore to operate two uncontrolled copies of the same automation.
Before purchasing a larger plan, measure resource use on the exact permitted setup rather than buying by CPU-per-dollar or the number of account logos. Look for RAM pressure, sustained CPU, disk space consumed by logs and history, reconnect behavior and responsiveness under the intended feeds. This is a test plan for the buyer, not a claim that we measured these hosts. Leave enough room for the platform’s normal work and maintenance instead of selecting a plan that only starts an empty chart.
Application-maker requirements: provider documentation 1, provider documentation 2. Read October 8, 2026.
For account ownership, leader/follower routes and firm restrictions, use the trade-copier comparison. A host’s installation permission is not a copier’s software licence or a firm’s permission to copy another trader.
VPS permissions for prop firm products and account stages
A VPS is a remote computer; a VPN is a network route. A provider can supply a working Windows machine while the firm disallows using it, limits the vendor, requires static IP and approval, or separates ordinary login from later trading. Apply the same five checks to every firm: trading use, provider restriction, login access, identity verification and location. A partner badge is not a contractual exception, and silence is not affirmative permission.
The tables retain every product/stage pairing reviewed. Their linked firm policies, not host marketing, support the status. The short cells point to the fuller explanation immediately below. Unscoped general policy is applied by inference unless expressly stated otherwise. A funded, performance, payout or live label does not automatically inherit every evaluation allowance.
FTMO VPS trading and identity rules
| Product / stage | Trading use | Provider rule | Login rule | KYC / payout | Location rule |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1-Step Challenge evaluation | Conditional | No named-vendor restriction published | Avoid US MetaTrader/cTrader login | After challenge/verification; before account agreement | Avoid US geolocation for MT, cTrader, TradingView |
| 1-Step Challenge funded | Conditional | No named-vendor restriction published | Avoid US MetaTrader/cTrader login | After challenge/verification; before account agreement | Avoid US geolocation for MT, cTrader, TradingView |
| 2-Step Challenge Standard evaluation | Conditional | No named-vendor restriction published | Avoid US MetaTrader/cTrader login | After challenge/verification; before account agreement | Avoid US geolocation for MT, cTrader, TradingView |
| 2-Step Challenge Swing evaluation | Conditional | No named-vendor restriction published | Avoid US MetaTrader/cTrader login | After challenge/verification; before account agreement | Avoid US geolocation for MT, cTrader, TradingView |
| 2-Step Challenge Standard funded | Conditional | No named-vendor restriction published | Avoid US MetaTrader/cTrader login | After challenge/verification; before account agreement | Avoid US geolocation for MT, cTrader, TradingView |
| 2-Step Challenge Swing funded | Conditional | No named-vendor restriction published | Avoid US MetaTrader/cTrader login | After challenge/verification; before account agreement | Avoid US geolocation for MT, cTrader, TradingView |
The governing FTMO policy states: The use of VPN/VPS is also generally allowed.
FTMO’s CFD FAQ generally allows VPN/VPS use. The reviewed pairings are 1-Step Challenge evaluation and funded, and 2-Step Standard and Swing evaluation and funded. The FAQ is not individually scoped to every named product, so these six applications are inferred from the general CFD policy, not an FTMO Futures allowance. No named provider restriction is published in this source.
The same FAQ says travelers should avoid MetaTrader and cTrader logins from the United States, and VPS/VPN users should avoid changing geolocation to the United States when using MetaTrader, cTrader or TradingView. Thus a host’s New York location or a generic VPN allowance is not a reason to ignore the narrower rule. Identity checking follows successful 1-Step Challenge or 2-Step Verification before the account agreement; a separate VPS-specific KYC exception is Not published.
