We checked 18 firms and listings against their own current Terms, help-center and FAQ pages for one literal question: does the account you get funded into ever place a real trade with real capital, or does it stay simulated forever? Thirteen publish some path to real money. Three move a trader live by an automatic, non-discretionary rule: DayTraders (skip the sim stage entirely on its Straight to Live evaluation), Purdia (a $10,000 cumulative profit cap in its Temp SFA) and MyFundedFutures (a single $10,000 profit day on its Rapid plan). Six move traders live at the firm’s own discretion but publish a rate or objective milestone, led by Tradeify at a disclosed 3.0% called up and Topstep at a disclosed, much lower 0.71%. Three more run a genuinely live program that is invite only with no published rate: Lucid Trading, Hola Prime Futures and Apex Trader Funding. The5ers is a named contrast case: its own Terms hedge on whether a trade is ever actually executed, so we call it unclear rather than guessing. The other five, E8 Markets, AquaFunded, Goat Funded Trader, FundedNext‘s CFD line and FundingPips, state in their own current terms that the funded account stays simulated for the life of the relationship. A live call-up, where one exists, is a fact to weigh, never a grade against the firm.

Freshness: checked October 3, 2026. Firms revise their terms without notice; re-check the firm’s own page before paying. Each firm’s Trustpilot figure carries its own read date. FTMO and other euro-priced products are not ranked in this post; a non-USD figure elsewhere uses the October 2, 2026 ECB reference rate, EUR/USD 1.1225.

Prop firms with real money, quick answer and quick picks
Most “funded accounts” at most prop firms never place a real trade. The firm shows a trader real market data and pays them from its own revenue based on simulated performance, not from live trading profit and loss. A minority of firms publish a genuine path, sometimes automatic, usually discretionary, into an account that places real trades with real capital. This post sorts all 18 firms and listings we checked into exactly those buckets, from each firm’s own current pages, not its marketing copy.
- Most predictable route to real money: DayTraders’ Straight to Live evaluation, no simulated stage, no discretionary step, just a published profit target.
- Highest published promotion rate: MyFundedFutures at 4.2% of simulated traders promoted (all plans combined), though Tradeify’s 3.0% and Topstep’s 0.71% show the range among discretionary call-ups.
- Keeps the most of your balance: Hola Prime Futures and MyFundedFutures both convert a meaningful share of simulated profit rather than starting the live account at $0.
- Can decline and keep payouts: Elite Trader Funding pays a scaling formula instead of forfeiting everything; Alpha Capital Group and Apex Trader Funding also let a trader decline, each on different terms.
Simulated vs real money funded accounts explained
The industry default, stated plainly by several firms in near-identical language, is a simulated funded account: real market data, a simulated balance, and payouts the firm funds from its own revenue rather than from live trading profit. E8 Markets puts it as bluntly as any firm checked for this post, describing every account, including its funded SimFi Performance stage, as a demo account running on simulated capital with real pricing feeding it. AquaFunded, Goat Funded Trader and FundingPips each say some version of the same thing about their own products.
A real money, or live, account is different: the trader’s positions execute in an actual market, against an actual broker, with the firm’s own capital genuinely at risk. Purdia’s knowledge base draws the line as clearly as any firm checked for this post: “Live Funded Accounts are genuine live brokerage accounts trading real capital.” The industry does not agree on a single word for this distinction, firms call it “live,” “real,” “genuine” or just name the product “Live Funded Account,” so the only reliable test is whether the firm’s own current terms state outright that the account executes in a live market, not merely that a trader was “selected” or “promoted.”
This matters for a concrete reason: a payout from a simulated account is still real cash in your bank, but the trading itself behind that payout never touched a real market. Readers chasing the literal phrase “real money prop firm” are usually asking about the trade, not the payout, and this post answers that specific question, firm by firm.
How the move to a real money account actually works

Every firm in this post’s lead table reaches a live account by one of three routes. An automatic rule fires on a stated, objective threshold with no risk-team vote: Purdia’s $10,000 Temp SFA cap, MyFundedFutures’ $10,000 single-day trigger, and DayTraders’ S2L evaluation itself. A firm’s choice means the firm discretionarily selects traders, but discloses a rate or an objective milestone a trader can work toward: Tradeify’s 3.0% called up after 3 or 10 payouts, Topstep’s 0.71% after demonstrated XFA performance, TradeDay’s 5th-payout trigger, Elite Trader Funding’s 5-payout/50-day/$25,000 milestone, Alpha Capital Group’s three published thresholds, and FundedNext Futures’ Performance Reward count. Invite only means the firm decides with no published rate or a very high, vaguely timed bar: Lucid Trading, Hola Prime Futures and Apex Trader Funding.
Worked example (Purdia, the clearest rule-triggered path): a trader passes the Sim Funded Account stage at a $2,000 profit target over 10 trading days, five of them $200 or more. That opens a Temp SFA and starts KYC with Purdia’s broker, Tradovate. Trading in the Temp SFA is optional; the trader only needs its cumulative profit, built from the initial SFA pass plus whatever is earned afterward, to reach $10,000. The moment that cap is hit and broker approval finishes (about 5 to 10 business days), the account becomes a Live Funded Account, carrying the Temp SFA balance forward up to that $10,000 figure. Any profit earned above the earlier $2,000 SFA target, before the Temp SFA even opened, is forfeited and never reaches the live account.
What carries over on the move, when a firm actually converts rather than forfeits, is almost always capped: Purdia and MyFundedFutures both cap it at $10,000, Hola Prime Futures caps it at 15% of the simulated account size, and Lucid Trading’s Daily plan caps the paid-out portion at a flat $15,000 regardless of account size. Several firms (Tradeify, TradeDay’s Fast Pass, Lucid Trading’s Pro and Flex) instead forfeit the whole simulated balance and start the live account at $0. KYC and broker onboarding, where one is named at all, typically take a few business days and can themselves be declined by the broker, a separate step from the trader’s own decision.
How we checked which prop firms use real money

- Sources: each firm’s current Terms, Trader Agreement and help-center or FAQ page specifically covering a live, real-money or graduation mechanism, read October 3, 2026; marketing copy alone never counts as evidence.
- The test: a product passes only if the firm’s own current page states, in terms a buyer can read before paying or before being selected, that the funded-stage account places real trades with real capital in a live market, automatically or via a discretionary call-up that is itself stated to be genuinely live.
- Classify, never grade a live call-up: a discretionary live call-up is named as a watch-out, never used to mark a firm down, except on this specific post, where classifying the live mechanism itself is the entire point.
- Group before sorting: rule-triggered firms rank above firm’s-choice firms with a published rate, which rank above invite-only firms with no published rate; inside the published-rate group, a higher disclosed rate or an easier milestone ranks first.
- Arms: a forex/CFD arm and a futures arm of the same brand are separate listings; FundedNext Futures and FundedNext (CFD) are graded completely separately from each other.
Where a firm’s own pages disagreed with each other (Goat Funded Trader’s generic Terms versus its product-specific disclaimer; The5ers’ capital-claiming clause versus its own execution hedge), we quote both and rank on the more conservative, product-specific reading, with a mark in the table explaining the conflict.
Prop firms with real money, ranked

Notes on this ranking: * DayTraders and MyFundedFutures might look like discretionary call-ups at first glance, since both firms also run a separate, slower discretionary path; their S2L and Rapid triggers themselves, however, are automatic, rule-based moves with no selection step, so both sit in the rule-triggered group here. Tradeify is grouped with the published-rate firms, not left unrated, because its own Trader Performance Statistics do publish an exact figure, 3.0% called up to live. † The5ers is listed unclear, not ranked with a group: its Terms say a Professional User may “trade with Our trading capital,” but the same clause reserves the firm’s discretion over whether a suggested trade is ever executed, and no help-center article defines the stage operationally either way. Within the rule-triggered group, DayTraders ranks first because its live-eligible product has no prior simulated stage at all; Purdia and MyFundedFutures both still require reaching a funded stage first. Within the published-rate group, order reflects a mix of disclosed percentages (Tradeify 3.0%, Topstep 0.71%) and milestone clarity (TradeDay, Elite Trader Funding, Alpha Capital Group, FundedNext Futures); a milestone and a percentage are not the same unit, so this ordering is this post’s own judgment call, disclosed here rather than left silent. Within the invite-only group, order reflects how low and clear the published bar is: Lucid Trading’s Payout 5 is the lowest and most frequent trigger, Hola Prime Futures publishes the highest numeric bar (10 payouts totaling $50,000), and Apex Trader Funding publishes no number at all. The $50K list price column is reader context only and is not this post’s ranking basis; it is each firm’s own recorded figure for the product discussed in that row, never another product’s price.
Firms ranked by how you reach real money
Each block below covers the route, the published rate or trigger, what happens to your simulated balance, whether you can decline, cost at $50K, payout rules once live, the first watch-out, who it is best for, and the firm’s Trustpilot standing.
DayTraders lets a trader skip the simulated stage completely on its Straight to Live evaluation
Video: “What Is Funded Trading? How DayTraders.com Helps You Trade Without Risking Your Own Money!,” DayTraders official YouTube channel, October 10, 2025. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: DayTraders’ own explainer of how its funded program works; no dedicated S2L-versus-S2F video exists.
DayTraders actually runs two separate real-money mechanisms on two different products, and only one of them is non-discretionary. Buy the Straight to Live (S2L) evaluation and there is no simulated funded stage at all: clear the published profit target and you are live, full stop.
The Core 50K S2L gate is a $3,000 profit target over at least 8 qualifying days of $200 or more each, with 25% consistency and a $2,000 intraday-trailing drawdown. “Straight to Live evaluations let traders skip simulated funding. Pass the live eval and trade firm capital with real markets and daily payout requests,” the firm states, and once documents clear, “the estimated waiting time to receive live accounts after submitting documents is between 1 and 5 business days.”
DayTraders’ separate S2F (sim-funded) line works differently and is purely discretionary: “we currently transition around 1% of traders that come through the sim funded program.” That separate call-up is simply named as a watch-out here, never used to mark the firm down, and it is a different product from S2L.
- Route: Buy the Straight to Live (S2L) evaluation directly; clearing its published profit/day gate ends the evaluation already live, with no separate sim-to-live step.
- Rate or trigger: Not a percentage; a deterministic pass or fail gate (Core 50K: $3,000 profit target, 8 qualifying days at $200+ each, 25% consistency, $2,000 intraday trailing drawdown).
- Your balance on the move: N/A on S2L; there is no prior simulated balance, since S2L never opens a simulated account first.
- Can you decline: Not published; there is no accept/decline decision to make, since S2L is the live-eligible product itself.
- Cost at $50K: $179 one-time at $50K (S2L Core, $0 activation fee).
- Payout rules once live: Live accounts request payouts daily, within about 1 to 5 business days of clearing KYC and signing the live account agreement.
- First watch-out: DayTraders also runs a fully discretionary live call-up on its separate sim-funded S2F line (about 1% of sim-funded traders moved, per the firm’s own figure), with no published decline option; a trader moved this way keeps 50% of any payout once lifetime payouts exceed $10,000, while the other 50% funds the new live account.
- Best for: a direct-to-live futures evaluation that skips the simulated stage entirely
- Trustpilot: 4.6/5 on 495 reviews. DayTraders vs Topstep comparison.
Purdia’s Live Funded Account only exists after a $10,000 cumulative profit cap, never a vote
Video: “Purdia Capital: Live Q&A Session and Future Vision,” Purdia official YouTube channel, October 26, 2024. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Purdia’s own live Q&A session, the clearest official explainer of its funding process we found.
Purdia’s own knowledge base states its real-money claim about as plainly as any firm in this post, and a second, separate article confirms it in different words: “Live Funded Accounts are genuine live brokerage accounts trading real capital.” No risk-team vote sits anywhere between a trader and that account; the entire path is a published, two-part rule.
First, pass the one-time Sim Funded Account (SFA) stage: a $2,000 profit target over 10 trading days with five profitable days of $200 or more. That issues a Temp SFA and starts broker onboarding with Tradovate. Trading in the Temp SFA is optional; a trader can reach the SFA pass without ever placing a trade in it. Once the Temp SFA’s cumulative profit reaches its $10,000 cap and broker KYC approval finishes, the account becomes a Live Funded Account.
Any SFA profit earned above the original $2,000 target is forfeited at that first step and never carries into the Temp SFA, so the $10,000 figure is a ceiling on the live-eligible balance, not a free-rolling account.
- Route: Pass the one-time Sim Funded Account (SFA) stage, then reach a $10,000 cumulative profit cap in the Temp SFA; no risk-team selection step sits anywhere in the sequence.
- Rate or trigger: Not published as a percentage; the trigger is objective and two-part, a $2,000 SFA profit target followed by a $10,000 cumulative Temp SFA profit cap.
- Your balance on the move: Converted up to the $10,000 cap: the Temp SFA balance plus lifetime payouts becomes the Live Funded Account’s starting balance. Any SFA profit above the earlier $2,000 target is forfeited before the Temp SFA stage even begins.
- Can you decline: Not published for a trader-initiated decline. If Purdia’s broker declines the KYC step instead, the trader keeps payout rights to remaining eligible Temp SFA funds.
- Cost at $50K: $549 one-time at $50K (50K EOD Instant Funded, $0 activation); the Evaluation route is $179/month list plus $130 on passing, to the same SFA gate.
- Payout rules once live: normal payout policies and review procedures apply once funds sit in the Temp SFA or the live account; the brokerage partner is Tradovate.
- First watch-out: trading toward the $10,000 cap is optional but not skippable: broker KYC and onboarding take about 5 to 10 business days and can itself be declined by the broker, not only by the trader.
- Best for: the fastest non-discretionary, rule-triggered path to real capital
- Trustpilot: 3.8/5 on 88 reviews. Purdia payouts, status.
MyFundedFutures moves a Rapid trader live the moment a single day clears $10,000 profit
Video: “Episode 08 – MFFU Plans Explained,” MyFundedFutures official YouTube channel, July 5, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: MyFundedFutures’ own plan-explainer episode, which covers the Rapid plan this live mechanism belongs to.
A single outsized trading day, not a committee, is what actually flips MyFundedFutures’ Rapid plan to live. Generate $10,000 in net profit within one trading session and “immediate transition to Live account status is initiated,” with any profit above $10,000 earned that same day forfeited outright.
A second, slower path exists for traders who never hit that single-day number: the Risk Management Team reviews consistent payout performance and may invite a transition at any time, with “final transition approval” remaining at the team’s sole discretion. The Pro plan runs a softer version of this review path, where even a $100,000 profit milestone only “triggers an account for review” and does not guarantee a move.
MyFundedFutures’ own homepage footer discloses that “4.2% of participants trading in a Simulated Funded Account were promoted to a Live Funded Account,” the highest published promotion figure in this post, though it spans every plan combined rather than isolating the automatic $10,000-day trigger specifically.
- Route: Automatic: generate $10,000 net profit within a single trading session on the Rapid plan and the transition fires immediately, no review step. A second, discretionary path also exists for consistent payout performers, approval at the Risk Management Team’s sole discretion.
- Rate or trigger: 4.2% of participants trading in a Simulated Funded Account were promoted to a Live Funded Account (homepage footer disclosure, undated measurement period, spans every plan combined, not isolated to the automatic trigger).
- Your balance on the move: Converted up to a cap: up to $5,000 of Sim Funded profit moves into a Reserve Program balance; further profit up to $10,000 for that day becomes withdrawable; anything earned above $10,000 that single day is forfeited.
- Can you decline: No. The Live FAQ states outright that “rejecting the move … is not possible,” for either path.
- Cost at $50K: $209 one-time list at $50K Rapid ($104.50 with code CLUB, no stated end date); $0 activation on every plan.
- Payout rules once live: Live Rapid accounts start at $0 and can run end-of-day negative until the Max Loss Limit trails to $0, described by the firm as expected and normal; CME data, commissions and platform fees are deducted directly from the live balance.
- First watch-out: you cannot decline either path to live, and any single-day profit above the $10,000 trigger is forfeited outright, not carried into the next day.
- Best for: the fastest non-discretionary path to real capital via one outsized trading day
- Trustpilot: 4.9/5 on 22,110 reviews. rules.
Tradeify discloses the one figure most firms will not, 3.0% of funded traders get called up live
Video: “Ep. 7 | Get Paid in 24 Hours With Tradeify's Select Plan,” Tradeify official YouTube channel, January 12, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Tradeify’s own payout-speed episode on its Select plan, the plan most traders use toward Elite Live eligibility.
Besides Topstep, Tradeify is the only firm in this post that puts an actual percentage on how often a funded trader reaches real money: “3.0% of individual participants trading in a Funded Account were called up to a Live Funded Account,” from its own Trader Performance Statistics (August 2025 to July 2026, calculated August 9, 2026).
Reaching eligibility takes 3 payouts on a single account, or 10 total payouts since a trader’s last live transition; Tradeify’s own help article is explicit that clearing that bar earns a review, not an automatic move: “Once you are selected for Elite Live transition, it is mandatory, you cannot decline.”
Tradeify is treated in this post exactly like every other firm checked: the same live-account test, the same evidence standard, no softening either way.
- Route: Clear 3 payouts on one account or 10 total payouts since your last live transition to become eligible for review; Tradeify’s own team then selects discretionarily.
- Rate or trigger: 3.0% of individual participants trading in a Funded Account were called up to a Live Funded Account (Trader Performance Statistics, August 2025 to July 2026, calculated August 9, 2026).
- Your balance on the move: Elite Live starts at $0. No Sim Funded profit carries over, and any profit made since your last successful payout is dropped at the transition.
- Can you decline: No, mandatory once selected; every Sim Funded and evaluation account closes the moment you transition.
- Cost at $50K: $145 one-time at $50K (Growth Evaluation, list); Select 50K Evaluation lists at $165.
- Payout rules once live: Elite Live accounts are issued through NinjaTrader and GFF Brokers, third-party regulated brokerages, not Tradeify itself; at least one trade every 30 days is required or the account closes for inactivity.
- First watch-out: only 3.0% of funded traders are actually called up, and the move is mandatory with no decline option once it happens.
- Best for: a disclosed, if small, published promotion rate into a genuinely third-party-brokered account
- Trustpilot: 4.4/5 on 4,918 reviews. rules, payouts.
TradeDay states as plainly as any firm here that its live account trades the exchange’s real markets
Video: “Henry's Story – The Best Prop Firm for Getting Paid,” TradeDay official YouTube channel, September 7, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: A TradeDay trader’s own story of getting paid, the closest official-channel video to this firm’s live-account path.
“A funded live account is a trading account that is a sub-account of our master account at our broker,” TradeDay tells traders directly, “You are trading the live markets on the Exchange,” and classified as a professional by the exchange once there, language with little room for a marketing-only reading.
Fast Pass is the main route: on a trader’s 5th payout request, the Funded Sim account converts to Funded Live, though TradeDay reserves the right to move a trader earlier for demonstrated consistency, or even directly on passing the evaluation in rare cases. A separate Quick Pay product reviews the account for a live move once it reaches $10,000 in gross profit, with any profit above that threshold removed before the transition.
Neither route publishes a decline option; the move reads as mandatory once the trigger fires, and the new Funded Live account starts at $0 on the Fast Pass route regardless of the prior sim balance.
