Read the full summary

We checked whether NinjaTrader is a genuine, purchasable route at 17 futures prop firms as of October 3, 2026. Fourteen pass: eleven offer it as a checkout choice (TradeDay, Tradeify, FXIFY Futures, MyFundedFutures, Holaprime Futures, Take Profit Trader, Blue Guardian Futures, Top One Futures, Apex Trader Funding, Earn2Trade, Phidias) and three only after purchase, through firm-issued credentials (Lucid Trading, FundedNext Futures, Purdia Capital). TradeDay is the cheapest at $65.50 per $1,000 of loss room on its 50K Quick Pay product; Apex Trader Funding is the only firm offering a genuine choice between the Rithmic and Tradovate/CQG data routes at the same price; Tradeify is the clearest case of NinjaTrader surviving to a real-money live account by name. Topstep runs its own closed TopstepX platform and has no NinjaTrader route at any stage; DayTraders names NinjaTrader specifically to rule it out for live accounts; Alpha Futures dropped its NinjaTrader route entirely on July 12, 2026. Almost every firm bundles NinjaTrader with Tradovate at the same checkout price via a shared CQG data feed, with no extra line item, while a smaller group (Apex, TradeDay, Earn2Trade, Phidias) offers Rithmic as a separately named, differently priced data agreement instead.

Quick Picks for Prop Firms That Use NinjaTrader

  • Cheapest with NinjaTrader: TradeDay, Quick Pay 50K, $131/month, $65.50 per $1,000 of loss room.
  • Genuine Rithmic route: Apex Trader Funding, pick Rithmic at checkout for the same price as Tradovate.
  • NinjaTrader kept to live: Tradeify, named by the firm as the Elite Live broker, not just the evaluation platform.
  • No extra platform fee: Holaprime Futures, NinjaTrader is its own checkout field with free data through Sim Funded.

“Uses NinjaTrader” is a per-product fact, not a brand-level label. Most firms checked for this post bundle the NinjaTrader connection with Tradovate at the same checkout option through a shared CQG data feed, with no visible extra line item; a handful instead expose a real Rithmic-vs-Tradovate choice with its own data agreement. A few firms document NinjaTrader only in a help article, reachable with firm-issued credentials after the purchase, never as a checkout SKU. None of that shows up on a homepage logo, which is why this post checks the firm’s own checkout and rules pages directly, as of October 3, 2026.

How NinjaTrader Connects to a Prop Firm Account

Diagram showing how NinjaTrader connects to a prop firm account through Tradovate or Rithmic
NinjaTrader reaches a prop firm account through one of two broker connections: Tradovate or Rithmic.

NinjaTrader is not itself a brokerage. It is a licensed charting and execution platform (NinjaTrader 8, leased or owned outright) that needs a live market-data connection underneath it, and at nearly every firm checked for this post, that connection is Tradovate. A trader logs into NinjaTrader using the Tradovate username and password the firm issued, sets the account type to Simulation during evaluation, and the CQG data feed behind Tradovate supplies the live prices NinjaTrader charts and trades against. Picking NinjaTrader at a firm that bundles it this way is not a separate purchase decision; it is a platform preference layered on top of the same Tradovate account a trader would use anyway, which is why it so rarely carries its own price line. This post’s companion guide covers the Tradovate side directly: prop firms that use Tradovate.

A smaller group of firms, Apex Trader Funding, TradeDay, Earn2Trade and Phidias among them, instead offer Rithmic as a separate, differently priced data agreement. Rithmic is its own market-data and order-routing provider, independent of Tradovate, and a firm that sells both routes usually prices them identically; the real difference is in the rules, not the sticker. TradeDay’s own help centre states the starkest version of this: “we do not support NinjaTrader Desktop with Rithmic accounts,” so the two routes are not simply interchangeable pipes to the same software. In plain terms, a licence buys the right to run NinjaTrader 8 itself; a data agreement (Tradovate’s non-professional certification, or a Rithmic exchange agreement) buys the live prices NinjaTrader displays. Most firms cover the data agreement at no charge during evaluation and simulated funding, and the question that actually costs money is what happens to that data fee once an account goes live, covered firm by firm below.

How We Checked Prop Firms That Use NinjaTrader

How BestProps checks and ranks prop firm claims before publishing a buyer's guide
Every claim in this post traces to a firm’s own checkout, account dashboard or help centre, read directly rather than copied from a third-party directory.

For each firm, we opened the live checkout or account configurator, not a marketing page, and noted whether NinjaTrader is a named, selectable option there, reachable only after purchase with firm-issued credentials, or not offered at all. We read the firm’s own help centre and rules pages for the data route (Tradovate/CQG versus Rithmic), whether picking NinjaTrader changes the price against the same account size and drawdown type, whether the route survives into a funded or live account, and whether the firm says anything about a separate NinjaTrader 8 licence fee or exchange data cost. Every ranked product’s cost per $1,000 of loss room is the firm’s own Regular/list price plus its own activation fee, divided by that product’s overall max-loss floor at $50K, never a daily loss limit or minimum-balance figure, and never a discount-code price. Trustpilot counts and scores are each read on the date shown in the firm’s own block. Checked October 3, 2026.

Notes on this ranking: * the firm does not publish whether NinjaTrader continues past the evaluation or sim-funded stage (MyFundedFutures, Earn2Trade); treat it as a live-stage watch-out, not a reason the firm is excluded. † a route-specific condition applies beyond the price shown, read in full in the firm’s own block below (Holaprime Futures’ data-fee timing, Take Profit Trader’s unstated Rithmic fee, Top One Futures’ locked-in platform choice, Apex Trader Funding’s local OCO storage on Rithmic, Lucid Trading’s default-Rithmic checkout, Phidias’ Ontario-only live route). ‡ Phidias’ Trustpilot rating is hidden by Trustpilot for a breach of its guidelines; see the hidden-rating note below. FXIFY Futures’ Trustpilot figure was not reread this pass and is flagged rather than guessed. Prices are each firm’s Regular/list price plus its own activation fee; a struck-through or coded price is never the ranking figure. Cost per $1,000 of loss room = (list price + activation fee) ÷ (overall max-loss floor ÷ 1,000), computed from each firm’s own $50K product, never a daily loss limit or minimum balance.

TradeDay has the cheapest NinjaTrader route on this list

A 50K Quick Pay account lists at $131 a month with no activation fee, and NinjaTrader rides free on the Tradovate/CQG side of a two-way platform choice the firm still calls “Tradovate / Rithmic” on its own homepage. The intraday trailing floor is $2,000, so the all-in cost works out to $65.50 per $1,000 of loss room, the lowest of every firm checked for this post. Pick Rithmic instead at the exact same price and NinjaTrader Desktop disappears entirely: TradeDay’s own platforms article says plainly, “we do not support NinjaTrader Desktop with Rithmic accounts,” so the checkout step itself decides whether NinjaTrader is even reachable. A free NT8 licence comes from NinjaTrader directly, or a trader can bring their own licence at no discount to commissions. The route survives evaluation, Funded Sim and Funded Live without a platform swap.

Tradeify names NinjaTrader as the live-stage broker too

Growth 50K Evaluation lists at $145 one-time with no activation fee, and every account type bundles NinjaTrader with Tradovate at no surcharge: “all brokers are the same price, there is no surcharge for any platform.” On a $2,000 EOD trailing floor that is $72.50 per $1,000 of loss room. What sets Tradeify apart here is the live stage: its Funded Trader Agreement states “all Tradeify Elite Live accounts are issued through and facilitated by NinjaTrader and GFF Brokers,” naming NinjaTrader explicitly at the real-money stage rather than staying silent on it. The catch is that NinjaTrader only works through Tradovate credentials; choosing Rithmic or WealthCharts at checkout locks it out, and the broker choice cannot be changed after checkout without buying a new account.

FXIFY Futures gives NinjaTrader the widest loss floor here

Two Phase Classic 50K lists at $379 one-time with no activation fee, and its own feature card lists “Platforms: NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView” as one bundled choice with free Level 1 data. The static $5,000 drawdown floor is the widest of any ranked product, which pulls the cost down to $75.80 per $1,000 of loss room even with a higher sticker price than most of this list. FXIFY Futures also publishes four dedicated NinjaTrader help-centre guides, more than any other firm checked. The firm’s own Trustpilot figure was not reread for this specific pass, so it is marked rather than guessed, and a funded account can move to live infrastructure, or close after review, at the firm’s own discretion once a payout cap is reached.

MyFundedFutures bundles NinjaTrader at zero extra cost

Builder 50K lists at $153 one-time with no activation fee, inside a “Recommended” checkout group that reads “Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView” as a single option, confirmed at $2,000 per $1,000 of loss room to $76.50. The firm’s own login guide extends that bundle through the Sim Funded stage using the same credentials. What the firm does not do is say anything about a real-money Live account: the Live Funded Account FAQ and the Pro/Rapid live-transition articles name zero platforms, mentioning only an unquantified “Platform License or Subscription” line item deducted from the balance. A trader planning to keep using NinjaTrader after a live call-up has nothing official to point to either way.

Holaprime Futures puts NinjaTrader on its own checkout field

The 1-Step Prime 50K product lists at $159 with no separate activation fee, and its live checkout API literally returns a “Trading Platform: Ninja Trader” field rather than a generic platform group, the clearest checkout-level proof we found in this review. The 4% EOD trailing floor on a $50K account is $2,000, so the cost works out to $79.50 per $1,000 of loss room. CME data is free through the evaluation and Sim Funded stage, but once a trader is called up to the discretionary Live Account, professional CME data costs $130 to $520 a month depending on exchange coverage, a real cost shift the checkout price never shows.

Take Profit Trader keeps NinjaTrader free, but only on CQG

A 50K Trading Test lists at $170 a month with NinjaTrader marked “Free During Test: Yes” on the firm’s own platform table, on the same CQG feed row as Tradovate and TradingView. That $2,000 EOD trailing floor produces a cost of $85.00 per $1,000 of loss room, and the route survives into PRO+ live commissions, where the firm simply points traders to NinjaTrader’s own published pricing page rather than stating a house rate. A separate, dedicated NinjaTrader-via-Rithmic connection guide exists, but its free-or-paid status is never stated anywhere on the site, unlike every Rithmic-route platform the table does mark.

Blue Guardian Futures hides NinjaTrader inside the Tradovate pick

Standard 50K lists at $209 one-time with no activation fee, and the firm’s help article frames the bundle as “Tradovate and NinjaTrader as a combined trading solution, giving traders access to both cloud-based execution and advanced charting tools.” On the $2,000 EOD trailing floor that is $104.50 per $1,000 of loss room. The live checkout selector itself, though, only shows two choices, “Tradovate | DeepCharts,” with no NinjaTrader radio button of its own, so a buyer has to already know to pick Tradovate to get it. The firm says nothing about a separate NinjaTrader 8 licence fee, and automation or AI bots stay banned platform-wide even on NinjaTrader.

Top One Futures treats NinjaTrader as its original default route

Elite Daily 50K lists at $218 with no activation fee, and a code comment in the checkout’s own client bundle confirms “Tradovate/NinjaTrader (token ‘tradeovate’) is the BASE catalog,” meaning NinjaTrader was the firm’s platform before BlackArrow was added as an alternative. The $2,000 EOD floor prices out to $109.00 per $1,000 of loss room. The permanence is the catch: “once an account is generated on a specific platform, platform switches are strictly not permitted,” including across a paid reset, so picking the wrong one at checkout means buying an entirely new account to change it. A mandatory Non-Professional data certification avoids an otherwise unquoted professional data fee.

Earn2Trade never confirms what happens after the evaluation

Gauntlet Mini GAU50 lists at $170 a month, with a $139 activation fee deducted from the first funded withdrawal rather than charged up front; against a $2,000 EOD floor that totals $154.50 per $1,000 of loss room. The live checkout’s “Choose Your Market Data, Platform & Account” selector names three groups, “Rithmic,” “BlackArrow” and “NinjaTrader: Tradovate, TradingView,” at identical prices. What no Earn2Trade page says is which platform a funded LiveSim or Live account actually runs on; the NinjaTrader group is documented only for the evaluation. The one quantified difference found: a funded Live account on NinjaTrader pays $156 a month per exchange in data fees, versus $140 on Rithmic.

Apex Trader Funding lets a trader pick the data route directly

Intraday Trail 50K (Standard) lists at $249 plus a $99 activation fee due within seven days of passing, which against a $2,000 intraday trailing floor comes to $174.00 per $1,000 of loss room. Apex is the one firm in this post offering a genuine choice between two NinjaTrader data routes rather than one bundled option: a dedicated “Connection Guide for NinjaTrader Using Rithmic” and a separate “Tradovate x NinjaTrader8 Connection Guide,” at no price difference between them. The Rithmic route carries its own warning worth repeating in full: order-cancel pairs are stored locally on the trader’s own PC, so “if you are disconnected and one of the OCO orders is filled, the other WILL NOT be automatically canceled.”

Phidias treats NinjaTrader and Tradovate as one broker path

Fundamental 50K on the One-Time Payment path lists at $580 with no separate activation fee, and the firm’s own rules page says plainly that “these rates apply to accounts on the Tradovate / NinjaTrader broker, same broker path, either name.” Against a $2,500 EOD trailing floor that comes to $232.00 per $1,000 of loss room, the highest among firms that offer NinjaTrader at checkout. The route survives to the Live stage, but with a real geographic limit: “LIVE funded accounts on Tradovate and NinjaTrader can currently only be opened by residents of Ontario,” with other Canadian residents routed to a different broker instead. Phidias’ Trustpilot rating is also hidden; see the note below the ranked table.

Lucid Trading sets NinjaTrader up after the purchase, not at checkout

LucidFlex 50K’s Regular/list price is $146 with no activation fee, and against a $2,000 EOD trailing floor that is $73.00 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest post-purchase route in this post. The firm’s own Supported Platforms article names NinjaTrader as one of the “CQG supported platforms” alongside Tradovate and TradingView, but every SKU defaults to a Rithmic platform pin at checkout; a trader has to change it after buying to reach NinjaTrader. Lucid’s own Trustpilot replies go further than most firms: when TradingView users complain about execution lag, support recommends switching to NinjaTrader or Tradovate rather than fixing TradingView itself.

FundedNext Futures documents NinjaTrader but never sells it as a choice

Flex 50K lists at $133.99 one-time with no activation fee, pricing out to $89.33 per $1,000 of loss room against a $1,500 EOD trailing floor, the cheapest post-purchase product on this list. FundedNext Futures publishes a five-article NinjaTrader help-centre collection covering login, buy and sell orders, the SuperDOM, stop-loss and take-profit orders, and limit orders, more documentation than most firms that sell NinjaTrader as a checkout SKU. The checkout itself, though, shows a single generic platform tile with no platform-choice step; a trader reaches NinjaTrader afterward with the same account credentials, and whether it survives a discretionary live call-up is not published anywhere.

Purdia Capital reaches NinjaTrader with the same login after buying

50K Instant Funded is a $549 one-time product with no separate activation fee; against its $1,500 EOD trailing floor that is $366.00 per $1,000 of loss room, the most expensive product ranked in this post. The live checkout reads simply “Trade with Tradovate | TradingView,” no NinjaTrader option shown at the point of sale, but the knowledge base’s NinjaTrader Setup Guide confirms traders can “log directly into NinjaTrader using the credentials provided on their Purdia Dashboard.” A cheaper $179-a-month EOD Evaluation line also exists, but this post ranks the Instant Funded product because its loss floor is confirmed on the firm’s own pricing page; the Evaluation line’s floor was not checked this pass (see open issues).

Prop Firms With No NinjaTrader Route

These three firms come up constantly in NinjaTrader searches because of how well known or how closely named they are, and all three deserve a plain correction rather than a silent omission.

Large futures firms with no NinjaTrader route today, checked October 3, 2026.
FirmWhy it doesn’t qualify
TopstepRuns only TopstepX; no NinjaTrader, Rithmic or Tradovate route exists.
DayTradersOwn ONYX platform for live accounts; NinjaTrader is excluded.
Alpha FuturesDropped NinjaTrader and Tradovate on July 12, 2026.

Topstep runs TopstepX and nothing else, at every stage

A help-centre search for “NinjaTrader” on Topstep’s own site “couldn’t find any articles,” and TopstepX’s product page says outright, “the only platform built to help traders turn potential into profits.” There is no platform selector offering NinjaTrader, Rithmic or Tradovate at any price, at any stage, from the Trading Combine through the Express Funded Account to a real-money Live Funded Account. Topstep is one of the biggest, most-searched names in futures prop trading, which is exactly why a buyer assuming it supports NinjaTrader needs the correction stated plainly rather than discovered after checkout.

DayTraders names NinjaTrader only to rule it out

The firm’s own live-accounts help article is unambiguous: “NinjaTrader and Tradovate are not supported for live accounts.” DayTraders runs its own proprietary ONYX platform at the live stage, with Rithmic-based R|Trader Pro as the only connection offered at evaluation. Trustpilot complaints confirm the same gap bothers traders who expected otherwise: a recurring theme is that “no NinjaTrader/Tradovate support frustrates some traders,” among reviews the firm otherwise scores well on (4.6 from 495 reviews).

Alpha Futures dropped NinjaTrader on a specific, dated day

“Update, July 12, 2026: Alpha Futures and NinjaTrader (including Tradovate and TradingView, which connected through Tradovate) have parted ways,” the firm’s own update post reads, and every active Premium-plan account from that bundle was refunded automatically. Re-checked live for this post, the firm’s current Trading Platforms article lists exactly five options, AlphaTrader, TradingView through Plus500, WealthCharts, Deepchart by Volumetrica and Quantower, with zero mention of NinjaTrader or Tradovate at any stage. A buyer who remembers Alpha Futures’ older NinjaTrader route needs to know it is gone, not paused.

NinjaTrader vs Other Futures Platforms

NinjaTrader is one of several charting and execution platforms prop firms support, and the firms checked for this post name three others worth placing next to it. TradingView rides on the same Tradovate connection at most firms that offer NinjaTrader, so the two are not really competitors at these firms, they are two front ends on one broker account; FundedNext Futures, FXIFY Futures and Earn2Trade all name NinjaTrader and TradingView side by side on the identical Tradovate route. TopstepX is Topstep’s own closed, proprietary platform, built on the former ProjectX engine per Topstep’s own pages, and it has no NinjaTrader connection at any stage, which is the single biggest wrong assumption this post exists to correct. Quantower shows up only as a separate, Rithmic-side alternative at firms such as DayTraders and Earn2Trade; where a firm’s own page names it as an option, that is noted in its block above, and nothing checked for this post ties Quantower to a NinjaTrader connection at any firm.

Do any prop firms use TradeStation?

Not at any futures prop firm we checked. As of October 4, 2026, none of the firms reviewed for this post, and none of the other futures and stock prop firms whose own sites we searched, offer a TradeStation connection at the evaluation stage or the funded stage. TradeStation turns up on several firm blogs as a retail platform worth knowing about, never as a route you can pick for a prop firm account.

Topstep is the one firm with a TradeStation history. It once ran a TradeStation program, but those pages now return a 404 error, and its help centre now says plainly that “TopstepX is the only available trading platform.”

If you already build in TradeStation, the practical workaround is to keep developing and backtesting there, then trade the prop firm account on NinjaTrader. That means porting your EasyLanguage code to NinjaScript, NinjaTrader’s C#-based language, and the port is a rewrite rather than a file import. Before you run a ported strategy on a firm account, check that firm’s automation policy, because each firm sets its own rules on bots and automated orders.

You may also see TradeStation Institutional advertising to proprietary traders. That service is for prop trading desks that trade real capital through TradeStation’s institutional brokerage and clearing, not for the evaluation and challenge firms ranked on this page.

Checklist Before You Pick a NinjaTrader Prop Firm

Checklist for comparing prop firms that use NinjaTrader before funding and live trading
Six questions worth answering before you buy an evaluation for NinjaTrader specifically.
  • Is NinjaTrader named at checkout, or only in a help article you have to find yourself?
  • Which data route powers it, Tradovate/CQG or Rithmic, and does that change what else you can run?
  • Is there an extra licence or data fee, and does it apply now or only once you go live?
  • Does the firm say NinjaTrader is kept once you reach a funded account?
  • Does the firm say NinjaTrader is kept once you reach a real-money live account?
  • Does the price and loss-room figure you are comparing belong to the exact product you intend to buy?

Final Picks for Prop Firms That Use NinjaTrader

If price is the only question, TradeDay’s Quick Pay 50K is the cheapest confirmed NinjaTrader route checked for this post, at $65.50 per $1,000 of loss room with no activation fee. If you specifically want the option to choose Rithmic over Tradovate on the same account, Apex Trader Funding is the clearest case, with two dedicated connection guides and no price difference between them. If keeping NinjaTrader all the way to a real-money live account matters most, Tradeify is the one firm that names NinjaTrader directly in its live Funded Trader Agreement rather than staying silent on the live stage. And if a wide loss floor matters more than the lowest sticker price, FXIFY Futures’ $5,000 static floor on Two Phase Classic 50K still prices out competitively at $75.80 per $1,000 despite a higher up-front cost. Whichever firm you pick, read its own checkout and rules page on the day you buy; a handful of these routes have changed in the last few months alone.

Prop Firms That Use NinjaTrader FAQ

Does Topstep use NinjaTrader?

No. Topstep runs exclusively on its own TopstepX platform at every stage, the Trading Combine, the Express Funded Account and a real-money Live Funded Account; a search of Topstep’s own help centre for “NinjaTrader” returns zero results, and no NinjaTrader, Rithmic or Tradovate option exists anywhere on the firm’s checkout.

Is NinjaTrader free with a prop firm?

Usually yes for the platform connection itself. Most firms bundle NinjaTrader with Tradovate at no extra checkout price, and a free NinjaTrader 8 licence is commonly available directly from NinjaTrader. What is not always free is the live market-data feed once an account reaches a real-money live stage; several firms in this post (Holaprime Futures, Earn2Trade, Phidias) charge a monthly data fee at that point that evaluation and simulated-funded accounts do not pay.

Should I pick Rithmic or Tradovate for NinjaTrader?

It depends on what else you want to run. Tradovate is the more common route and usually the one bundled at no extra cost, and it typically keeps TradingView available alongside NinjaTrader. Rithmic is a separate data agreement that a handful of firms (Apex Trader Funding, TradeDay, Earn2Trade, Phidias) price identically, but a Rithmic choice can remove other platforms: TradeDay’s
