Prop Firms That Use MT5, Checked Product by Product

Prop firms that sell MT5 at every stage, with server names, US eligibility conflicts and EA rules checked firm by firm, Sep 30, 2026.

Document-based research and editorial review. Last reviewed October 5, 2026 29 min read

Key takeaways

FundedNext’s Stellar 2-Step has the cleanest every-stage MT5 record. FTMO’s global 2-Step is the best-known non-US name; US residents need the separate FTMO US product. Nine of 15 firms here conflict with their own checkout, almost always about who gets MT5. Freshness: checked September 30, 2026; re-check before you buy.

Quick answer, the best prop firms that use MT5 in 2026

  • Cleanest every-stage record: FundedNext Stellar 2-Step, $299.99. MT5 stated at evaluation and funded on named servers.
  • Best-known name: FTMO 2-Step Standard, €345. MT5 at every stage; not sold to US residents.
  • Cheapest MT5 50K: Alpha Capital Group Alpha Pro 6%, $217. MT5 at evaluation (funded stage inferred); trade-executing EAs banned at every stage.
  • MT5 for EAs: City Traders Imperium 1-Step Challenge, $299, conditional MQL5 support; FXIFY and Hola Prime allow EAs with pre-approval or an add-on.
  • Only US-resident MT5 route confirmed: FTMO US (OANDA Corporation) or Darwinex Zero, a $50/month subscription, not a funded challenge.

“Uses MT5” can mean the evaluation only, the funded account only, or a checkout that contradicts the firm’s help pages. The table below lines up stage, server and US-eligibility.

  2. Product: one 50K product per firm, buyable today, at list price.
  3. Order: evidence strength (stated vs inferred, server published or not), then list price ascending.
  4. Cautionary: an unresolved conflict across a firm’s own pages. A live call-up is a warning in the firm’s block.
  5. US test: every checkout tested from a US IP September 30, 2026; disagreements are quoted.

What you actually get when a prop firm “uses MT5”

How MT5 access works at a prop firm: a trading terminal window labeled MT5 with tags for Evaluation, Funded and Server, and a world map with one region locked
MT5 access at a prop firm is not one fact: evaluation, funded stage, server name and country lock can all differ.

“Uses MT5” collapses four questions: evaluation access, funded-stage access, a named server, and whether checkout matches help-centre wording. A checkout screenshot is a data point, not a rule.

MT5 account models, profit splits and payout speed

How you get into an MT5 account, and how fast money comes back out of it, varies as much as the platform rules above. Phase count, profit split, the wait before your first payout request, the smallest payout a firm will process, and whether a bigger account is on offer all come from each firm’s own payout help pages, not its homepage marketing.

MT5 account model, 50K profit split, first-payout wait, payout minimum and other account sizes, read Sep 30–Oct 2, 2026.

Worked example, FundingPips: a $50K Master account paying the 80% Weekly split needs 7 calendar days after the first Master trade and a minimum reward of 1% of the Master size, $500 at $50K; the firm keeps the remaining 20% until a 35%-consistency Monthly claim pays 100%. Worked example, FTMO Scaling Plan: a $50K FTMO Account that nets at least 10% profit and processes two Rewards inside any 4-month window gets its balance increased 25%, to $62,500; repeating that every 4 months is the stated path to a $2,000,000 FTMO Account, capped there regardless of further profit. FTMO’s own Reward FAQ also requires US-based traders to file an IRS Form W-9 before their first Reward payment, and says a trader who cannot complete that form, or cannot prove ownership of a matching US bank account, is not eligible for any Reward at all (see Tax and entity status below).

“Other sizes or scaling” in the table above is the account-size ceiling or growth path each firm publishes; it is not a recommendation to buy a size this post has not price-checked.

Prop firms that use MT5, ranked

All thirteen are forex/CFD products. Groups run from strongest evidence (every stage stated, server published) to weakest (both stages inferred, no server published); price rises within each group.

FundingPips 2 Step Pro runs MT5 at every stage, including the Prime call-up, on named servers

Verdict: First, cheapest in this group. MT5 is stated for evaluation, funded and the Prime call-up stage on named servers.

2 Step Pro $50K: 6% static max loss, 3% daily loss.

  • MT5 by stage: Evaluation, funded (Master) and the Prime call-up all run on MT5: “FundingPips supports three platforms: MT5, cTrader, and Match-Trader”; “Every Prime Account runs on MT5, whatever platform the Master Account used.”
  • Server or entity: “FundingPips2-SIM” or “FundingPips-SIM1” (evaluation/Master); dedicated “FundingPips-Prime” server at the call-up. Entity: FundingPips Corp (Comoros).
  • Country lock and fallback: No. “United States is NOT currently supported” for MT5; US/Canada residents get Match-Trader instead, with no MT5 route at any stage, including Prime.
  • MT5 costs: No MT5 surcharge vs Match-Trader; cTrader +$20. Forex/metals $5/lot, $10/lot on the MT5-only Swap-Free add-on.
  • Watch out for: The Prime call-up can’t be declined, it’s “deemed automatically accepted” and you waive the right to refuse. Master profit funds the Prime account at 12.5x and your Master account closes; Prime then runs on MT5 only.
  • Trustpilot: 4.5/5 on 69,484 reviews. FundingPips profile, rules.

FundedNext Stellar 2-Step runs MT5 from evaluation through funded, cleanest every-stage record

Verdict: Second. MT5 is stated for evaluation and funded on FundedNext’s own named servers, the cleanest record here.

Video: “MT5 Log In Instructions | FundedNext,” FundedNext official YouTube channel, 2024-12-17. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: FundedNext’s own MT5 login-instructions video.

Stellar 2-Step $50K: 10% static max loss, 5% daily loss; every reward passes a compliance review.

  • MT5 by stage: Evaluation and funded both run on “FundedNext-Server and FundedNext-Server 2,” designated for paid plans.
  • Server or entity: “FundedNext-Server and FundedNext-Server 2.” Entity: FundedNext Ltd.
  • Country lock and fallback: US residents get Match-Trader only ($269.99): “Match-Trader is the exclusive platform for U.S.-based traders.” Non-US buyers choose MT4/MT5 free.
  • MT5 costs: MT5/MT4 $0 at checkout; cTrader/Match-Trader +$25. Swap-Free adds 10% of fee. EAs prohibited at $50K+.
  • Watch out for: Trade-executing EAs banned outright at $50K; smaller Stellar sizes allow EAs with a paid add-on.
  • Trustpilot: 4.5/5 on 80,485 reviews. FundedNext profile, rules.

BrightFunded 2-Step Bright sells MT5 both stages on its own server, US/UAE lock the checkout did not enforce

Verdict: Third. MT5 is stated for evaluation and funded account on a named BrightFunded server; help bars US/UAE residents, though the checkout still showed the MT5 tile.

Video: “How do I log in to my MetaTrader 5 account?,” BrightFunded official YouTube channel, 2025-11-25. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: BrightFunded’s own MT5 login walkthrough.

2-Step Bright €277: 8% static max loss, hard 4% equity daily loss.

  • MT5 by stage: Evaluation and funded both run on “BrightFunded-Server” per the credential guide.
  • Server or entity: “BrightFunded-Server.” MT5 is not attributed to a named broker; simulated CFD services are offered solely by BrightFunded Ltd. (Saint Lucia).
  • Country lock and fallback: Conflict: “If you are citizen, resident, or live in the US or UAE, MT5 will not be available for you,” yet checkout preselected MT5 with no block.
  • MT5 costs: MT5 carries no surcharge; DXtrade, the only US route, lacks MT5’s EA add-ons.
  • Watch out for: Funded-only: a 5-minute news window with profit removal and a discretionary “temporary risk measures” clause.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 572 reviews. BrightFunded profile.

FTMO 2-Step Standard runs MT5 at every stage up to the FTMO Account, the global benchmark

Verdict: Fourth. FTMO’s global FAQ names MT5 for the Challenge, Verification and the FTMO Account itself; not open to US residents (FTMO US below is the separate route).

Video: “How to Download and Log In to MT5 on Desktop App | FTMO US,” FTMO official YouTube channel, 2026-05-07. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: FTMO’s own MT5 download-and-login walkthrough, covering the same MT5 client both brands sell.

2-Step Standard €345: 10% static max loss, 5% equity daily loss.

  • MT5 by stage: MT5 is selectable at checkout for the Challenge, carrying through Verification and the FTMO Account; the entity to search is “FTMO Global Markets Ltd.”
  • Server or entity: Server name not published; entity “FTMO Global Markets Ltd.”
  • Country lock and fallback: No. Global FTMO is not sold to US residents; US traders are routed to the separate FTMO US product via OANDA Corporation.
  • MT5 costs: No MT5 surcharge vs MT4/cTrader/TradingView; forex commission is ~$5/lot round-turn.
  • Watch out for: T&C 7.6.6 lets FTMO set a per-trade Risk-per-Trade-Idea cap by email after passing, a published watch-out.
  • Trustpilot: 4.8/5 on 53,448 reviews. FTMO profile, rules.

Instant Funding One-Phase PRO has no eval-to-live split, same MT5 account pays from day one

Verdict: Fifth. One-Phase PRO sells MT5 as the funded account itself on a named IFPro-Trade server; help names Match-Trader for the US, but checkout still let MT5 be selected.

One-Phase PRO $424: 8% static max loss, 3% daily loss.

  • MT5 by stage: One account, one stage: the MT5 account bought at checkout is the funded (simulated) account, on “IFPro-Trade.”
  • Server or entity: “IFPro-Trade.” No named broker beyond the firm’s Saint Lucia entities.
  • Country lock and fallback: Conflict: “If you are in the US, Match-Trader is the only platform available,” yet the checkout still let MT5 be selected.
  • MT5 costs: A flat $20 switch fee applies moving into/out of MT5; commission is $0 Commission-free or $5/lot forex on RAW Spreads.
  • Watch out for: A 40% best-day rule and a 2% floating-equity circuit breaker apply only once funded; MT5 currency is ZAR-locked.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 4,371 reviews. Instant Funding pulse.

Funding Traders 2-Step Pro6 sells MT5 at both stages, no server name published

Verdict: Sixth. “At this time, TradeLocker and MT5 are the only trading platforms,” no eval/funded split stated, and no MT5 server name is published.

2-Step Pro6 $50K: 6% static max loss, 3% daily loss.

  • MT5 by stage: MT5 is stated for the evaluation, carried through the funded stage under the firm-wide “TradeLocker and MT5” list.
  • Server or entity: Not published. Help only references “the provided server (shown in your dashboard).” An August 2026 broker change is noted but not confirmed.
  • Country lock and fallback: Conflict: the footer says MT5 services “not intended for U.S. citizens/residents,” yet the checkout still offered MT5.
  • MT5 costs: Pro accounts: $3/lot roundtrip on most instruments; no MT5-specific surcharge.
  • Watch out for: ToS 6.3.10 places a post-pass trader into a discretionary Discipline tier (60/40 possible).
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 3,259 reviews. Funding Traders rules.

FXIFY Two Phase Classic runs MT5 at every stage for non-US buyers, plus an MT5-only Lightning product

Verdict: Seventh. MT5 covers evaluation and funded on Two Phase Classic for non-US buyers; the checkout agrees it is excluded. No server name is published; entity wording conflicts.

Two Phase Classic $50K: 10% static max loss, 4% equity daily loss.

  • MT5 by stage: MT5 runs evaluation and funded per FXIFY’s platform-change FAQ; Lightning Challenge is a separate “MT5 RAW only” product.
  • Server or entity: Not published. Entity wording conflicts: FXIFY’s blog names “FXIFY Markets” while another page names partner broker “FXPIG™.” Neither is confirmed as MT5 operator.
  • Country lock and fallback: No. “Unable to offer MetaTrader to clients based in the United States” matches the checkout, which hid MT4/MT5, offering DXtrade/TradingView instead.
  • MT5 costs: No MT5 surcharge. RAW: $6/lot on FX, metals, indices; no swap-free option.
  • Watch out for: GTC 5.4.3 latency-arbitrage terminations (11 dated cases) and a 25% funded best-day rule are published pre-purchase.
  • Trustpilot: 4.3/5 on 6,345 reviews. FXIFY profile, rules.

Alpha Capital Group Alpha Pro 6% starts on MT5, but trade-executing EAs are banned

Verdict: Eighth, cheapest MT5 50K here. MT5 is stated for the evaluation; funded (Qualified) stage is inferred. MT5 yes, trade-executing EAs no.

Video: “MT5 LOGIN TUTORIAL,” Alpha Capital Group official YouTube channel, 2022-12-03. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Alpha Capital’s own MT5 login tutorial.

Alpha Pro 6% $50K: 6% static max loss, 3% daily loss.

  • MT5 by stage: MT5 is explicit at checkout and evaluation; Qualified (funded sim) stage inferred same-platform. Alpha Prime (live stage) moves off MT5 entirely.
  • Server or entity: “ACGMarkets-Main.” Entity ACG Markets Ltd (Seychelles), named a “third-party FSA-regulated brokerage.”
  • Country lock and fallback: No. “Traders travelling to the U.S. must refrain from using their MetaTrader 5 accounts while staying there” is a physical-location test.
  • MT5 costs: No MT5 surcharge. Standard Evaluation: no commission; Raw Evaluation: $2.50/lot each direction. Swap-Free add-on (MT5 only) costs ~10% of base price.
  • Watch out for: Trade-executing EAs banned at every stage; only pre-approved trade-management EAs run. Alpha Direct, a separate $2.5K product, is MT5 at every stage.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 21,803 reviews. Alpha Capital Group profile, status.

City Traders Imperium runs its own MT5 servers on a CTI-owned licence, non-US only

Verdict: Ninth. CTI states it runs “our own MT5 servers using a CTI-owned MetaQuotes license” for the evaluation; funded stage inferred from silence.

1-Step Challenge $50K: 5% balance-based trailing max loss, no daily loss limit published.

  • MT5 by stage: MT5 is explicit at evaluation (“Full MQL5 EA support”); funded stage inferred same-platform. The live/broker-agreement stage names no platform.
