We checked sixteen prop firms that confirm United Kingdom access on their own pages and ranked each on cost per $1,000 of loss room, the list price of the cheapest qualifying $50,000 product plus any activation fee, divided by the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure the product reaches at any stage. Blue Guardian’s 2 Step Nano is cheapest at $25.40 per $1,000, though every Blue Guardian account stays a simulated demo account with no live stage at all. E8 Markets is the only firm here with a confirmed pounds-paying bank rail. The5ers is the one UK-headquartered firm in the ranking. None of the sixteen ranked firms appear on the FCA Warning List, and seven currently show a hidden Trustpilot star rating.

Is prop trading legal in the UK
Yes. Buying a prop firm evaluation is legal in the UK. These firms sell access to a simulated or company-owned trading account rather than an investment product, which is why most of them do not need FCA authorisation to sell it. Blue Guardian’s own terms state plainly that all its accounts, including funded ones, are demo accounts running on virtual funds, never real capital. FTMO says the same thing about its own account: “An FTMO Account is an account with fully fictitious funds… Our clients therefore never actually perform any trades on live markets.”
None of the sixteen firms ranked in this post appear on the FCA Warning List of unauthorised firms as of October 2, 2026. That check is something any UK buyer can run themselves at the FCA’s own site before paying; it does not mean the money is protected the way a UK-regulated investment firm’s client money is, since there is no Financial Services Compensation Scheme cover if a firm simply stops paying. This is factual information, not legal advice.
How we checked these prop firms for UK traders

- Read each firm’s own restricted-countries page or checkout country selector for the United Kingdom by name, not a worldwide marketing claim.
- Search the FCA Warning List of unauthorised firms for the firm’s exact trading name.
- Search Companies House for the firm’s exact trading name and compare the registered office to the one named at checkout.
- Record the price as the firm shows it; where it is not in pounds, convert it at the ECB reference rate of October 2, 2026 (EUR/USD 1.1225, EUR/GBP 0.85033, so GBP/USD 1.3201) and disclose the rate and date.
- Identify the payout method that actually reaches a UK bank account, and the currency it pays in.
- Find the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure at any stage, evaluation or funded, and compute cost per $1,000 of loss room from that figure, never a daily loss limit or a per-position floating-loss rule.

Notes on this ranking: Cost per $1,000 is the list price of the cheapest qualifying $50,000 product, plus any activation fee, divided by the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure the product reaches at any stage, evaluation or funded, never a daily loss limit or a per-position floating-loss rule. Each firm is ranked on whichever of its own products is cheapest on this metric, not necessarily its cheapest sticker price. Topstep and Alpha Futures are monthly products, shown as one month’s price. * The5ers’ own size table shows an 8% maximum loss ($4,000) on the $50K High Stakes account, which is the reading used here. A separate FAQ on the same site states a 10% maximum loss program-wide, which would put the cost at $49.80 per $1,000, level with E8 Markets and just under FundingPips’ $49.83, and move The5ers up to fourth place in this table, ahead of FundingPips. † BrightFunded and FTMO price in euros, converted at the ECB rate of 1.1225 dated October 2, 2026. BrightFunded’s 2-Step Classic is the cheapest of its own three CFD products on this metric; its figure sits far enough from its neighbours that the euro would need to weaken by about 3.3% before it passed Alpha Futures above it, or strengthen by about 7.4% before FTMO below it caught up. FTMO is ranked here on the 1-Step Standard Challenge rather than the 2-Step Standard, because the 1-Step’s lower euro price wins on the metric despite an end-of-day trailing, not static, floor: the 1-Step’s one-time €319 fee is non-refundable, while the 2-Step’s €345 fee is refunded with the first reward, and the 2-Step’s static $5,000 floor works out to $77.45 per $1,000 against the 1-Step’s $71.62. A roughly 6.9% weakening in the euro would drop FTMO below BrightFunded; a roughly 1.2% strengthening would push it level with Tradeify. ‡ Alpha Capital Group sells four 2-Step variants; the 10% Alpha Pro is the cheapest on this metric at $53.40 per $1,000, even though its $267.00 sticker price is higher than the 6% Alpha Pro’s $217.00. The 6% variant’s smaller $3,000 floor costs $72.33 per $1,000; the 10% variant’s larger $5,000 floor more than makes up for the higher price. ‖ FundingPips sells five evaluation models; the 2 Step Flex is ranked here as the cheapest on this metric at $49.83 per $1,000, its 12% static floor ($6,000) outweighing the cheaper-sticker 2 Step Pro’s smaller $3,000 floor ($249.00, $83.00 per $1,000). ¶ FundedNext sells four Stellar Challenge variants at $50,000; the Stellar Lite is ranked here as the cheapest on this metric at $57.50 per $1,000, its 8% static floor ($4,000) costing less per $1,000 than the pricier Stellar 2-Step’s larger $5,000 floor ($299.99, $60.00 per $1,000). # Goat Funded Trader sells three evaluation models; the 2 Step GOAT is ranked here as the cheapest on this metric at $61.60 per $1,000, its 10% static floor ($5,000) costing far less per $1,000 than the 1 Step’s smaller $3,000 floor ($314.00, $104.67 per $1,000). §§ Funded Trading Plus sells two evaluation models at $50,000; the 2-Step Classic is ranked here as the cheapest on this metric at $79.75 per $1,000, its static 8% floor ($4,000) costing less per $1,000 than the 1-Step Express’s trailing 6% floor ($349.00, $116.33 per $1,000). ** E8 Markets sells E8 Pro at $50,000 with a 6%, 8% or 10% static maximum loss; the 10% setting is ranked here as the cheapest on this metric at $49.80 per $1,000 ($249.00 / 5), ahead of the 8% setting ($228.00, $4,000 floor, $57.00 per $1,000) and the 6% setting ($218.00, $3,000 floor, $72.67 per $1,000). E8 states it charges no activation fee. FundingPips’ $49.83 sits three cents higher. †† Tradeify sells two $50,000 evaluations; the Growth plan is ranked here as the cheapest on this metric at $72.50 per $1,000 ($145.00 / 2, no activation fee), ahead of the Select plan ($165.00, the same $2,000 EOD trailing floor, $82.50 per $1,000). § The FCA Warning List carries a 2021 entry for a firm called “Fortraders” at the web address fortraders.io, with London addresses and contact details that do not appear anywhere on fortraders.com, the site reviewed here, whose terms name BLN Tech Club DMCC in Dubai and FT Trading Ltd in Saint Lucia. The entry names a different website and different contact details, and nothing published links it to fortraders.com; UK buyers should still read the entry before paying.
Prop firms with a hidden Trustpilot rating
Seven of the sixteen ranked firms currently show a hidden star rating on Trustpilot, with the platform’s own banner: “This company’s rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines,” usually tied to a note about removed fake reviews. This is stated plainly as a fact about the review platform, never replaced by a firm’s self-claimed score. The seven are Blue Guardian (2,102 reviews), E8 Markets (3,299 reviews), BrightFunded (572 reviews), For Traders (1,768 reviews), Alpha Capital Group (21,810 reviews), Goat Funded Trader (4,343 reviews) and Funded Trading Plus (2,666 reviews). A hidden rating is not treated as a ranking reason in this post; it is reported here so a buyer can factor it into their own decision.
Blue Guardian is the cheapest product here, with no live trading stage on any account
Verdict: First by cost: the 2 Step Nano’s $5,000 static floor never trails, and $127.00 buys the lowest cost per $1,000 of loss room in this post. The trade-off is structural, not a catch: every Blue Guardian CFD account, including the funded one, stays a simulated demo account with no live-capital stage for anyone.
Video: “Which Blue Guardian Account is Best? (All Rules explained),” Blue Guardian official YouTube channel, May 7, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Blue Guardian’s own explainer of its account rules is the closest official match; no UK-specific video exists.
The 2 Step Nano lists at $127.00 for a $50,000 account (about £96.20 at the October 2, 2026 rate, though Blue Guardian shows no GBP price of its own). The $5,000 maximum loss (10%) is static, measured on equity including floating profit and loss but fixed from the starting balance rather than trailing upward: $127.00 / 5 = $25.40 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest figure in this post. Phase 1 needs an 8% profit target ($4,000); Phase 2 needs 5% ($2,500); the daily loss limit is 3% ($1,500).
The United Kingdom is not named on Blue Guardian’s restricted-countries list, and the checkout’s country selector lists United Kingdom among more than 190 options with no extra UK gate. There is no UK-registered Blue Guardian entity at Companies House; the firm’s stated entities are Blue Guardian Limited in Saint Lucia and Iconic Exchange FZCO in Dubai.
- Price at $50K: $127.00 one-time for a $50,000 2 Step Nano account (promo code BG25 cuts it to $95.25, no end date shown).
- Max loss floor: $5,000 static maximum loss, fixed from the starting balance through both phases and the funded stage.
- UK eligibility: United Kingdom is absent from the restricted-countries list; checkout’s country selector lists it with no extra gate.
- Companies House: No UK entity found. The firm’s stated entities (Blue Guardian Limited, Saint Lucia; Iconic Exchange FZCO, Dubai) are not UK-registered.
- FCA Warning List: Not on the FCA Warning List as of October 2, 2026.
- Payout to a UK bank: No GBP rail. Both payout methods, a Rise bank withdrawal and crypto, settle in USD, so a UK trader’s own bank handles the conversion.
- First watch-out: Every account, including the funded one, is a simulated demo account; there is no live trading stage for anyone on this product, at any pass rate.
- Best for: a UK trader who wants the cheapest per-$1,000 evaluation in this post and is comfortable trading a simulated account indefinitely.
- Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 2,102 reviews. Blue Guardian profile, payouts, status.
Topstep is the cheapest monthly futures plan for UK traders and shows its price in pounds
Verdict: Second: on the No Activation Fee path, one month of Topstep’s $50,000 Trading Combine costs $47.50 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest monthly product in this post, and the only one of the sixteen with its own live checkout toggle for pounds.
Video: “What Is a Topstep Express Funded Account (XFA)? | Funded Trader Payouts Explained,” Topstep official YouTube channel, May 14, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Topstep’s own explainer of the Express Funded Account is the closest official match to the product ranked here.
On the No Activation Fee path the $50,000 Trading Combine lists at $95.00 a month, and Topstep’s own pound selector shows the same plan at £72 a month, a price the checkout displays rather than a conversion (read October 2, 2026). Turning on the optional Responsible Trading Advantage, which adds a daily loss limit to the account, cuts that to $85 or £64 a month; the ranking uses the list price without it. The Max Loss Limit is $2,000, trailing end-of-day rather than static: $95.00 / 2 = $47.50 per $1,000 of loss room.
UK residents get full access to both the funded Express Funded Account stage and the later, discretionary Live Funded Account. The Standard path is cheaper per month at $49 (about £37) but adds a $149 (£113) activation fee when you pass, so reaching a funded account costs $198 and works out to $99.00 per $1,000.
- Price at $50K: $95.00/month list on the No Activation Fee path (£72/month on Topstep’s own pound checkout); $85 or £64 with the optional Responsible Trading Advantage, which adds a daily loss limit.
- Max loss floor: $2,000 Max Loss Limit (the One Rule), trailing end-of-day rather than fixed.
- UK eligibility: UK residents get full access to the funded Express Funded Account and the later discretionary Live Funded Account.
- Companies House: Topstep Brokerage UK Limited, UK-registered, active, incorporated July 13, 2026.
- FCA Warning List: Not on the FCA Warning List as of October 2, 2026.
- Payout to a UK bank: A fiat rail reaches the UK only through Wise or an international wire; Topstep’s two fastest US rails are not usable from the UK, and the balance itself is calculated in USD, not quoted in GBP.
- First watch-out: Once the Risk Team decides a trader is ready, there is no option to decline and keep the Express Funded Account; the only choices are moving to Live or closing the account.
- Best for: a UK futures trader who wants the cheapest monthly product in this post and a checkout that shows a real pound price.
- Trustpilot: 3.6/5 on 14,886 reviews. Topstep profile.
E8 Markets is the only firm here with a confirmed pounds-paying bank rail
Verdict: Third by cost and the one quick pick worth naming on its own: E8 Pro with the 10% maximum loss costs $249.00 and buys $49.80 per $1,000 of loss room, and E8 is the only firm in this post whose own payout methods page names a GBP-denominated bank rail.
Video: “Consistency Rule Explained in 2 minutes (Best Day rule),” E8 Markets official YouTube channel, May 21, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: E8’s own rules explainer covering the consistency rule is the closest official video; no UK-specific cut exists.
E8 Pro with the 10% maximum loss lists at $249.00 for a $50,000 account (about £188.62 at the October 2, 2026 rate; E8’s own checkout reads in USD with no GBP-native price option), with no activation fee. The $5,000 maximum loss (10%) is static. $249.00 / 5 = $49.80 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest of E8 Pro’s three loss settings on this metric; the 8% setting costs $228.00 for a $4,000 floor ($57.00 per $1,000).** Every E8 Pro setting carries a 2.5% daily drawdown ($1,250 at $50,000) that ends the account if breached.
E8’s standard forex and CFD products do not confirm UK access the way some firms do: the United Kingdom is simply absent from E8’s restricted-countries list, which the firm presents as complete, rather than named in an affirmative acceptance statement. Ranked here on that absence, as the rule requires, with the quieter confirmation flagged plainly.
- Price at $50K: $249.00 one-time for a $50,000 E8 Pro account with the 10% maximum loss (code E8 cuts it to $187.00 on a first order, no end date shown).
- Max loss floor: $5,000 static maximum loss.
- UK eligibility: United Kingdom is absent from E8’s restricted-countries list, which the firm presents as its complete list; not stated as an affirmative acceptance.
- Companies House: No UK entity found for E8 Markets as an active trading entity; a dissolved shell under a similar name is unrelated.
- FCA Warning List: Not on the FCA Warning List as of October 2, 2026.
- Payout to a UK bank: Fiat-to-UK-bank available via WorkMarket/Hyperwallet, paid in GBP, with a £1.50 fee and a 2 to 3 percent exchange spread.
- First watch-out: UK access rests on an absence from a restricted-countries list rather than a stated acceptance; nothing on E8’s site says “UK accepted” in those words.
- Best for: a UK trader who specifically wants a payout that lands in pounds from a named bank rail, not just a USD transfer their own bank converts.
- Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 3,299 reviews. E8 Markets profile, rules.
FundingPips lets you select pounds at checkout, but the GBP figure itself was not captured live
Verdict: Fourth: $299.00 for the 2 Step Flex buys $49.83 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest of FundingPips’ five evaluation models on this metric.‖
Video: “FundingPips Pro is crafted for traders looking for a more affordable 2-Step Model,” FundingPips official YouTube channel, April 25, 2025. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: FundingPips’ own video introducing the 2 Step Pro model is the closest official match; no video specific to 2 Step Flex was found.
The 2 Step Flex lists at $299.00 for a $50,000 account at the USD-default checkout (about £226.50 at the October 2, 2026 rate; the checkout’s own GBP selector was not exercised live, so this is a converted figure, not the firm’s own GBP price). The 12% static maximum loss ($6,000) never moves from the starting balance: $299.00 / 6 = $49.83 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest of FundingPips’ five evaluation models on this metric.‖ Phase 1 needs a 10% profit target, Phase 2 needs 6%, and the daily loss limit is 4%.
UK residents are not named on FundingPips’ published restriction list, and GBP is a selectable display currency at the live checkout. No UK-registered entity was found at Companies House for FundingPips; its contracting entity is Comoros-licensed and Dubai-based.
- Price at $50K: $299.00 one-time for a $50,000 2 Step Flex account at the checkout’s plan-compare default (no promo code independently confirmed for this model).
- Max loss floor: $6,000 static maximum loss, 12%, never moves from the starting balance.
- UK eligibility: United Kingdom is not named on FundingPips’ published restriction list; GBP is a selectable display currency at checkout.
- Companies House: No UK entity found; the contracting entity is Comoros-licensed and Dubai-based.
- FCA Warning List: Not on the FCA Warning List as of October 2, 2026.
- Payout to a UK bank: FundingPips’ Reward Methods page names the United Kingdom for bank transfer to a local account ($500 minimum, read October 3, 2026), but it does not say the payout is paid in pounds; crypto carries no stated country caveat.
- First watch-out: A general terms clause states that if FundingPips elects to require a Prime Account transition, it is automatically deemed accepted, is mandatory, and the trader waives any right to refuse or contest it.
- Best for: a UK trader who wants the deepest static floor FundingPips sells and can select GBP at checkout, accepting there is no UK-registered entity behind it.
- Trustpilot: 4.8/5 on 69,726 reviews. FundingPips profile, rules, payouts, status, deals.
Alpha Capital Group markets itself as a UK home-market firm, matched by its Companies House filing
Verdict: Fifth: $267.00 for the Alpha Pro 10% 2-Step buys $53.40 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest of the firm’s own four evaluation variants on this metric.‡
Video: “Skip the Evaluation. Keep 90%. Start from Day 1. ⚡,” Alpha Capital Group official YouTube channel, July 26, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: A skip-the-evaluation promo video from Alpha Capital Group’s own UK channel is the closest official match.
The Alpha Pro 10% 2-Step lists at $267.00 for a $50,000 account (about £202.26 at the October 2, 2026 rate; no GBP price is shown anywhere on the site or checkout). The 10% static maximum drawdown ($5,000) is fixed from the initial balance and never trails: $267.00 / 5 = $53.40 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest of Alpha Capital Group’s four 2-Step variants on this metric.‡ The daily loss limit is 5% ($2,500).
Alpha Capital Group calls the UK its home market: “Alpha Capital Group launched in November 2021 as a UK prop firm,” and its operating company, Alpha Capital Group Limited, is UK-registered, active and incorporated November 2, 2021, matching that claim at Companies House.
