We checked 18 prop firms on October 5, 2026 for a German resident and ranked 14 standard forex and futures products by cost per $1,000 of loss room at $50K, with euro figures at the October 2, 2026 ECB rate of 1.1225. Blue Guardian 2 Step Nano is cheapest at $25.40 on its fee alone, then RebelsFunding RF Copper at $33.75 ($40K, four phases), ThinkCapital Nexus at $49.75, E8 Markets E8 Pro 10% at $49.80 (cheapest with every fee published) and FundingPips 2 Step Flex at $49.83. No firm excludes Germany, and none has a BaFin database entry or warning. Only BrightFunded says its bank transfers are processed in euros and only FundingPips names Germany for a local bank transfer; most others pay dollars into Rise, which lists euro withdrawals to German banks for $10. E8’s WorkMarket route gives Germany a wire only. Topstep ($47.50) stops German traders at the Express Funded Account with a $200,000 payout cap, Tradeify is the only ranked futures firm listing DAX futures, and two firms sit in a warning group: Apex Trader Funding because its own site says US users, and Alpha Futures ($64.50 for one month) while its acknowledged payout queue for a discontinued plan stays open.

Quick answer and the top five prop firms in Germany

None of the 18 prop firms checked names Germany as excluded, so acceptance decides almost nothing for a German buyer. What separates them is how a payout reaches a German bank, whether you can trade the DAX, and what each $1,000 of loss room costs. Ranked on that cost, these five come first:

  1. Blue Guardian 2 Step Nano: $25.40 per $1,000. Price $127 (about €113.14); floor $5,000, static.
  2. RebelsFunding RF Copper 4-Phase ($40K): $33.75 per $1,000. Price $135 (about €120.27); floor $4,000, static.
  3. ThinkCapital Nexus 3-Step: $49.75 per $1,000. Price $199 (about €177.28); floor $4,000, static.
  4. E8 Markets E8 Pro 10%: $49.80 per $1,000. Price $249 (about €221.83); floor $5,000, static.
  5. FundingPips 2 Step Flex: $49.83 per $1,000. Price $299 (about €266.37); floor $6,000, static (12%).

Blue Guardian, RebelsFunding, ThinkCapital and FundingPips lead on the evaluation fee alone, because none publishes an activation fee either way. On fully published prices the lowest are E8 Markets for forex ($49.80) and Tradeify for futures ($72.50, one time), with Topstep cheaper at $47.50 but limited to its simulated funded stage in Germany. Alpha Futures ($64.50 for one month) is shown in the warning group, not ranked, while its payout queue stays open. For a payout in euros straight from the firm, BrightFunded is the plainest option.

Can German traders use prop firms

Yes. A prop firm sells you an evaluation on a simulated account; pass it and the firm pays you a share of the simulated profit, usually after identity checks. The steps are the same everywhere: pick a product and size, pay the fee, hit the profit target without breaching the daily or overall loss limit, complete KYC, then request payouts from the funded account. The questions that are specific to Germany are which stage you can reach, how the money gets back to a German bank, and whether the product offers the DAX.

Why German traders use them is mostly capital and leverage. Goat Funded Trader’s own German-market post puts it as retail leverage capped at 1:30 on major pairs under BaFin and ESMA rules, “while prop firms commonly offer 1:100 on evaluation accounts”, and the ranked $50,000 accounts here cost $127 to $379. The trade-off is that the money at risk is the fee, and the funded account is almost always simulated.

Firms test eligibility in different ways. E8 Markets goes by the country on your identity document, Topstep by citizenship and permanent residency together, Tradeify by residence, and Alpha Futures and HyroTrader also by where you physically are. Several pages that rank for this search come from the firms themselves: Goat Funded Trader, RebelsFunding, ThinkCapital and HyroTrader each publish a Germany guide, and the first three put their own brand first. We read those as the firms’ claims and checked each against its own payout and country pages.

If you trade from elsewhere in the EU too, the EU-wide view, with which states each firm excludes, is in our guide to the best prop firms for traders in Europe. Our Germany availability page keeps the shorter eligibility audit.

BaFin and prop firms in Germany

BaFin, the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht, authorises banks, financial-services and investment firms, keeps a company database (Unternehmensdatenbank) and publishes consumer warnings about companies operating without the required authorisation (BaFin warnings). There is no separate BaFin category for prop firms. We searched both sources on October 5, 2026 for every firm’s brand, its contracting company and its domain.

The result: none of the 18 firms or their contracting companies has a BaFin database entry, and no BaFin warning names any of them or their domains. Name searches returned notices about other companies with similar words in their names, such as a warning about the website alphaconnectcapital(.)com and one about tfg-trade.de; those concern different entities and websites and are not attributed to any firm here. The one group-level match is ThinkMarkets’ EU broker, TF Global Markets (Europe) Ltd., listed as a cross-border investment-services notification from Cyprus; ThinkCapital and its contracting company return no results.

No BaFin entry is what you would expect for a business that sells simulated evaluations, and it also means no BaFin protection. The firms say so themselves: Alpha Futures’ Germany page says “there is no German brokerage account at the end of that path, and this is not BaFin-supervised live dealing,” E8 Markets calls its accounts “for educational use only,” The5ers says it “is not a broker, custodian, exchange, financial institution,” and HyroTrader says it “does not provide investment services.”

ESMA’s product intervention measures on CFDs, agreed in 2018 under Article 40 of MiFIR, set retail leverage limits of 30:1 on major currency pairs and 20:1 on major indices such as the DAX, plus negative balance protection (ESMA’s summary). Those bind CFD providers dealing with retail clients. Leverage on a prop firm’s simulated account is set by the firm: FTMO’s GER40.cash runs at 1:50, while Alpha Capital Group’s Alpha Direct and The5ers’ Pro Growth show 1:30. How prop firms pay a German bank account

How prop firms pay traders in Germany: an outline map of Germany with a payout arrow into a bank building marked with a euro sign
Prop firm payout to a German bank: the route decides the currency and the fee.

No firm checked names SEPA, and only three speak to Germany directly on their payout pages. BrightFunded’s German help page says bank transfers are processed in euros, with no firm fee and no minimum. Alpha Futures’ Germany page says “Wire / SWIFT, Wise, Rise. Paid in USD.” FundingPips lists Germany for “Bank Transfer $500 Min Direct to local account” and for Pay to Card, without stating the currency or fee. FTMO’s German FAQ names “Banküberweisung” with no FTMO fee, but no longer says which currency it pays in.

Most of the rest pay US dollars into Rise. Rise’s own help page, dated September 3, 2026, lists Germany with EUR for withdrawals to a local bank: “The withdrawal fee is $10, and the maximum timeframe is 2 business days.” That makes the usual German route firm, Rise in dollars, your bank in euros, with the conversion at Rise. E8 Markets is the exception that trips people up: its WorkMarket partner pays euros to bank accounts in much of the EU but lists Germany only for an international wire (2%, $10 to $30, plus 2-3% conversion), so German E8 traders are better served by its Rise option.

  1. Read each firm’s own restricted countries page, terms, help article or checkout for Germany, product by product, and note whether the list is complete.
  2. Check whether Germany can reach every stage the firm sells, and treat a brand’s forex, futures and crypto arms as separate listings.
  3. Price every $50K variant at list price, add any activation fee, and convert euro prices at the October 2, 2026 ECB rate; codes go in the firm notes only.
  4. Divide by the smallest overall loss limit in dollars at any stage, never a daily limit or a per-symbol rule, and multiply by 1,000.
  5. Note the payout route to a German bank, the DAX instrument, the daily cut-off in Berlin time, the BaFin database and warnings result, and Trustpilot.

Prop firms in Germany ranked by cost per $1,000 of loss room

Lower is better. A $5,000 floor for $249 works out at $49.80 per $1,000 and a $2,000 floor for $145 at $72.50, so the cheaper sticker can be the dearer account per dollar you are allowed to lose, which is the comparison that matters if you expect to buy more than once.

Notes on this ranking: Cost per $1,000 is the list price of the firm’s cheapest $50,000 product that a German resident can buy, plus any activation fee, divided by the smallest overall loss limit in dollars at any stage, times 1,000. Daily loss limits, per-symbol and per-position rules (Alpha Capital Group’s 2% Max Risk Rule, Goat Funded Trader’s Goat Guard) are not used; they are named as watch-outs in each firm’s section. Euro figures convert at the European Central Bank reference rate of October 2, 2026, EUR/USD 1.1225; your card or bank rate will differ. Only FTMO and BrightFunded charge in euros. “Rise lists euros” means the payout partner Rise names Germany for euro withdrawals to a local bank ($10, up to two business days); the firm itself pays Rise in dollars. Ties share a rank. a Blue Guardian does not publish an activation fee for 2 Step Nano and does not say there is none, so $127 is the evaluation fee alone. An activation fee above $41.75 would drop it below RebelsFunding. Its restricted list says the countries it names are included, without calling the list complete. With Germany chosen as the billing country, its checkout showed $127.00, VAT $0.00 and no euro option. b RebelsFunding sells no $50,000 size, so the nearest, $40,000, is used: $135 / $4,000 x 1,000 = $33.75. Copper has four evaluation phases, the most of any account here. No activation fee is published either way, and its restricted list ends with “and other countries” rather than being complete. An activation fee above $64.00 would drop it below ThinkCapital. c ThinkCapital publishes no activation fee for Nexus either way, so $199 is the evaluation fee alone. Any activation fee above $0.20 would drop it below E8 Markets, whose $49.80 has every fee published. ThinkCapital’s country page opens with “We accept clients worldwide, except for the countries listed below” but heads the list “These countries include.” d FundingPips publishes no activation or Master fee either way, so $299 is the evaluation fee alone; a fee above $21.40 would drop it below Alpha Capital Group. Its help page names three excluded countries (Iran, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates), but its terms add residents of “countries on the FATF and EU/UN sanctions lists” without listing them; Germany is on neither. e FundedNext neither names an activation fee for Stellar Lite nor says there is none; the figure is the evaluation fee alone. A fee above $16.41 would drop it below Goat Funded Trader. f Goat Funded Trader’s checkout shows no activation line and the firm publishes no activation step, but it never states the fee is $0. A fee of $3.25 or more would put it level with or behind The5ers. g The5ers’ High Stakes $50K size table shows an 8% overall loss ($4,000) while its program FAQ says 10% ($5,000). We rank on the tighter table figure; on the FAQ figure it would be $49.80, level with E8 Markets. Its Pro Growth $50K has no such conflict and works out at $109.67. h BrightFunded prices in euros: €297 x 1.1225 = $333.38, so $333.38 / $5,000 x 1,000 = $66.68 (€59.40 per $1,000 of room). A 7.4% rise in the euro would put it behind FTMO, and a 6.6% fall would put it ahead of The5ers. i FTMO prices in euros: €319 x 1.1225 = $358.08. Tradeify is only 1.2% dearer, so a 1.2% rise in the euro would swap them. FTMO’s 2-Step Challenge (€345, about $387.26, static floor, fee refunded with the first reward) works out at $77.45. j FXIFY’s Two Phase Standard costs the same $379 for the same $5,000 and also works out at $75.80, but its floor trails; Classic is shown because its floor is static. The checkout page did not load on October 5, 2026, so the price comes from FXIFY’s public pricing widget.

How the evaluation and drawdown rules work at prop firms for Germany

You pay a fee, trade a simulated account to a profit target without touching the daily or overall loss limit, and then trade a funded account that is usually still simulated. Alpha Futures and Topstep bill monthly until you pass; the rest charge once. RebelsFunding’s Copper has four phases, ThinkCapital’s Nexus three, and most others two.

The type of floor matters as much as the dollar figure. A static floor stays where it starts: 11 of the 14 ranked products use one. An end-of-day trailing floor moves up with your best closing balance, as at Alpha Futures, FTMO’s 1-Step, Tradeify, My Funded Futures and Topstep. An intraday trailing floor follows the highest point your equity touches, open profit included, which is the hardest version; no ranked product uses it. Daily loss limits are separate: at most forex firms here a breach ends the account (2.5% at E8 Markets, 3% at Blue Guardian and FTMO’s 1-Step, 4% at FundingPips, ThinkCapital, FundedNext, Goat Funded Trader and FXIFY).

Trading the DAX at prop firms from Germany

Most CFD firms here list a DAX contract, under different names: GER40 at FTMO (GER40.cash, 1:50 leverage, no commission), ThinkCapital (zero commission), FundingPips (no commission) and Blue Guardian; GER30 at Alpha Capital Group, FundedNext and BrightFunded (GER30.cash); DE30.r at FXIFY; DAX40 at The5ers; DE30.v at RebelsFunding ($2 a round turn). E8 Markets shows the DAX on its trading-schedule notices without naming the symbol, and Goat Funded Trader names CFD indices without a symbol list.
