We checked 18 prop firms on October 3, 2026 against all 27 EU states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, and ranked 16 standard forex and futures products a European can buy by cost per $1,000 of loss room at $50K. Blue Guardian 2 Step Nano is cheapest at $25.40 on its fee alone, then Topstep at $47.50 ($95 a month, no Live account in Germany or Iceland), E8 Markets E8 Pro 10% at $49.80, FundingPips 2 Step Flex at $49.83 and Alpha Capital Group Alpha Pro 10% at $53.40, the only firm naming every EU and EEA state at checkout. Only FTMO and BrightFunded charge in euros, no firm names SEPA, and BrightFunded, E8 Markets and FTMO publish euro payouts to banks. Tradeify, Alpha Futures and My Funded Futures each exclude named EU states, and Apex Trader Funding sits in a warning group because its own site says US users. Euro figures use the October 2, 2026 ECB rate of 1.1225.

Quick answer and the top five prop firms in Europe

Most prop firms let Europeans buy, pass and get paid, but not every firm takes every EU country, and many European listings turn out to be crypto-only. Of the 18 firms checked, 16 standard products can be bought from most of Europe and are ranked below; three of those firms name EU states they will not serve, Topstep keeps Live accounts away from Germany and Iceland, and Apex Trader Funding’s own pages conflict on whether it serves anyone outside the United States. Ranked on what you pay for each $1,000 the account can lose, these five come first:

  1. Blue Guardian 2 Step Nano: $25.40 per $1,000. Price $127 (about €113.14); floor $5,000, static.
  2. Topstep Trading Combine, No Activation Fee: $47.50 per $1,000. Price $95/month (about €84.63); floor $2,000, end-of-day trailing.
  3. E8 Markets E8 Pro 10%: $49.80 per $1,000. Price $249 (about €221.83); floor $5,000, static.
  4. FundingPips 2 Step Flex: $49.83 per $1,000. Price $299 (about €266.37); floor $6,000, static (12%).
  5. Alpha Capital Group Alpha Pro 10%: $53.40 per $1,000. Price $267 (about €237.86); floor $5,000, static.

Blue Guardian’s lead depends on an activation fee it does not publish either way, and FundingPips’ figure is fee-only too. On published all-in prices the lowest are Topstep for futures and E8 Markets for forex. If you want your country named rather than merely missing from a list, Alpha Capital Group is the one that names all 30.

Can European traders use prop firms

Yes. A prop firm sells you an evaluation on a simulated account; pass it and the firm pays you a share of the simulated profit. The practical questions for a European are which firms accept your country, whether the product you want is covered or only a crypto line, what currency you pay in, and whether a payout can reach your bank.

Firms test eligibility in different ways. E8 Markets goes by the country on the identity document you verify with. Topstep looks at citizenship and permanent residency together. Tradeify 247 says only residence counts, not citizenship or where you are. Alpha Futures and Apex Trader Funding also block trading while you are physically in one of their restricted countries, so a holiday in Croatia or Cyprus matters, and FundingPips says it monitors whether your IP region matches your profile.

The crypto question is the one that catches buyers out. Lists of firms “available in Europe” often show E8 Markets, For Traders, FundedNext and Tradeify 247 only for their crypto products. On their own pages, E8 Markets, For Traders and FundedNext apply one country list to their forex and crypto accounts alike, so their standard forex products are open too and are ranked in the main table. Tradeify 247 sells only crypto, and it sits in the crypto table.

Two kinds of page also rank for this search. FXIFY’s own post on the top prop firms for European traders ranks FXIFY first, which is marketing. And some guides list Jane Street, Citadel, Optiver, Hudson River Trading and Jump Trading; those are trading firms that hire staff on salary, with no evaluation to buy, so they are not compared here.

ESMA and prop firms in Europe

ESMA, the European Securities and Markets Authority, agreed product intervention measures on contracts for difference in 2018 under Article 40 of MiFIR. For CFDs sold to retail clients they set leverage limits of 30:1 on major currency pairs, 20:1 on non-major pairs, gold and major indices, 10:1 on other commodities and non-major indices, 5:1 on individual shares and 2:1 on crypto, plus a margin close-out at 50% of required margin, negative balance protection and limits on trading incentives (ESMA’s summary).

Those measures bind CFD providers dealing with retail clients. None of the 18 firms checked mentions ESMA, and their own descriptions put their accounts outside that frame: E8 Markets says all its accounts are demo accounts, BrightFunded says “BrightFunded is not a broker, nor connected to one,” and For Traders’ checkout says it does not provide investment services within the meaning of MiFID II. Alpha Futures’ own Germany and Spain pages say its accounts are not BaFin- or CNMV-supervised live dealing. That is why leverage on these accounts is set by each firm, not by the ESMA schedule.

The firms’ own settings show it. FTMO offers up to 1:100 on Standard accounts “to this fictitious capital only,” Alpha Capital Group’s Alpha Pro offers 1:100 on forex, BrightFunded 1:100, The5ers High Stakes 1:100, and FundingPips’ invite-only Prime account up to 1:2000. E8 Markets and FXIFY set 1:30 on forex, which happens to match ESMA’s major-pair figure, but neither firm describes it as an ESMA limit. The flip side is that you get none of the protections a licensed broker owes a retail client.

Where a live stage exists, the broker behind it is named only by some firms: Tradeify says its Elite Live accounts go through NinjaTrader and GFF Brokers, Apex names Ninja Brokerage, and Topstep refers only to a futures commission merchant partner. Topstep says brokerage restrictions are the reason German and Icelandic traders cannot reach its Live Funded Account. For which firms hold a licence anywhere, see our guide to regulated prop firms.

Consumer terms differ too. BrightFunded gives consumers a 14-day right to withdraw that ends once demo trading starts, Alpha Capital Group’s terms cite the UK’s 14-day cooling-off right, and Tradeify 247’s terms keep a mandatory carve-out for EU and UK consumer rights. Goat Funded Trader says all sales are final, with arbitration under Canary Islands rules in Spain.

EU countries that prop firms exclude in Europe

Checked across the whole bloc rather than one country, the exclusions cluster in south-east Europe and the EEA’s Iceland. No firm here excludes Germany, France (apart from Corsica and its islands at one firm), Italy, Spain, the Netherlands or Poland. These are the countries at least one checked firm names:

Bulgaria is the most restricted EU state here: three futures firms exclude it, E8 Markets keeps E8 One from it, and FundingPips’ FATF clause may reach it. A Bulgarian, Croatian or Romanian forex trader still has most of the main table, including E8 Pro; a Bulgarian or Icelandic futures trader loses Tradeify and My Funded Futures, and Alpha Futures as well in Bulgaria.

How prop firm payouts reach a European bank

How prop firms in Europe pay out: an outline map of Europe beside a path from prop firm to payout method to your bank, with SEPA, Crypto and Rise options
Prop firm, payout method, your bank: the path every European payout takes.

No firm checked names SEPA. Payouts leave in US dollars, euros or crypto, and the conversion happens at the firm’s payout partner, your bank or a crypto exchange. Three firms go further than the rest: BrightFunded says payouts are processed in euros by bank transfer, E8 Markets pays through WorkMarket, whose fee page lists a euro bank-account transfer in 22 EU states plus Liechtenstein and Norway, and FTMO wires in euros or dollars. Rise is the most common route, and Rise’s own help centre, as read for FXIFY and Tradeify, lists euro withdrawals to local banks in 26 of 27 EU states for $10, with Hungary in forints only.

Prop firms in Europe ranked by cost per $1,000 of loss room

Lower is better. A $2,000 floor at $95 and a $5,000 floor at $249 both cost under $50 for each $1,000 you are allowed to lose, which is the comparison that matters if you expect to buy more than once.

Notes on this ranking: Cost per $1,000 is the list price of the firm’s cheapest $50,000 product that a European can buy, plus any activation fee, divided by the smallest overall loss limit in dollars at any stage, times 1,000. Daily loss limits, per-symbol and per-position rules (Alpha Capital Group’s 2% Max Risk Rule, For Traders’ 2% Drawdown Protection, Goat Funded Trader’s Goat Guard, Funded Trading Plus’ 3% Symbol Loss Limit) are not used; they are named as watch-outs in each firm’s section. Euro figures convert at the European Central Bank reference rate of October 2, 2026, EUR/USD 1.1225; only FTMO and BrightFunded charge in euros. Ties share a rank. a Blue Guardian does not publish an activation fee for 2 Step Nano and does not say there is none, so $127 is the evaluation fee alone. An activation fee above $110.50 would drop it below Topstep. Its restricted list says the countries it names are included, without calling the list complete; all 30 EU and EEA states could be selected at checkout, which is not the same as a written acceptance. b Monthly billing: the figure covers one 30-day cycle, and each extra month adds the monthly price again (Topstep $95, Alpha Futures $129). Two months at Topstep would cost $95.00 per $1,000; two at Alpha Futures, $129.00. c E8 Pro 10% showed $249 on the configurator and $248 in the matching checkout summary the same evening; the table uses the higher figure. At $248 it would be $49.60 and its place does not change. d FundingPips publishes no activation or Master fee either way, so $299 is the evaluation fee alone; a fee above $21.40 would drop it below Alpha Capital Group. Its terms also exclude residents of “countries on the FATF and EU/UN sanctions lists” without saying which FATF list. Bulgaria is on the FATF list of jurisdictions under increased monitoring dated June 19, 2026, so a Bulgarian resident should get written confirmation first. Prices can be shown in euros at checkout (€265.00) but are charged in US dollars. e FundedNext does not name an activation fee for Stellar Lite and does not say there is none; the figure is the evaluation fee alone. A fee above $16.41 would drop it below Goat Funded Trader. f Goat Funded Trader’s checkout shows no activation line and the firm publishes no activation step, but it never states the fee is $0. A fee of $3.25 or more would put it level with or behind The5ers. g The5ers’ High Stakes $50K size table shows an 8% overall loss ($4,000) while its FAQ says 10% ($5,000). We rank on the tighter table figure; on the FAQ figure it would be $49.80 and sit level with E8 Markets. Its Pro Growth $50K has no such conflict and works out at $109.67. h BrightFunded prices in euros: €297 x 1.1225 = $333.38, so $333.38 / $5,000 x 1,000 = $66.68. A 2.9% rise in the euro would put it behind For Traders, and a 3.3% fall would put it ahead of Alpha Futures. i FTMO prices in euros: €319 x 1.1225 = $358.08. Its 1-Step floor trails the end-of-day balance and the fee is never refunded. Tradeify is only 1.2% dearer, so a 1.2% rise in the euro would swap them. FTMO’s 2-Step Challenge (€345, about $387.26, static floor, fee refunded with the first reward) works out at $77.45, between My Funded Futures and Funded Trading Plus. j My Funded Futures’ restricted countries policy also names “France Metro (FX) Corsica & non-mainland islands only,” so mainland France is open. Malta is on that policy but not on the firm’s separate KYC and AML list; we treat Malta as excluded.

Notes on this ranking: Same measure as the main table, on crypto-only products. E8 Markets and FundedNext also appear on European country pages as crypto options, but neither sells a separate crypto product: E8’s one restricted list covers its forex and crypto accounts together, and FundedNext’s CFD list covers crypto CFDs inside the same Stellar accounts, so both are ranked in the main table. FXIFY’s Crypto One Phase floor trails the closed-balance high until 6% profit; For Traders’ Crypto Fast PRO trails end of day and has no daily loss limit; Tradeify 247’s 3% daily loss limit is a hard breach measured on live equity.

Prop firms in Europe with a stage limit by country

Topstep is ranked in the main table for the rest of Europe. For residents of Germany and Iceland the same product stops at the Express Funded Account, which Topstep says is because of brokerage restrictions; it is shown here with the same measure.

Apex Trader Funding’s footer says “Services are intended for U.S. users only and are not offered where prohibited by local laws or regulations,” and its terms say the program is “intended for United States users.” Its restricted countries page says “Traders from over 100 countries can participate” and names Cyprus and Latvia among the countries it cannot serve, and on October 3, 2026 its signup list offered 25 EU states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Because the firm’s own pages disagree on who may buy, it is not ranked here: residents of Cyprus and Latvia are excluded outright, and anyone else should get written confirmation from Apex before paying.

For reference, its 50K EOD Trail Standard costs $590 plus a $129 activation fee against a $2,000 end-of-day trail
