We checked twenty-seven prop firms that confirm Canada access on their own pages and ranked twenty-four of them nationwide on cost per $1,000 of loss room, the list price of the cheapest qualifying $50,000 product plus any activation fee, divided by the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure the product reaches at any stage. Blue Guardian’s 2 Step Nano is cheapest at $25.40 per $1,000, though every Blue Guardian account stays a simulated demo account with no live stage at all. Alpha Capital Group is the only firm here that names Canada directly rather than simply not blocking it. Three firms, Purdia, TradeDay and Apex Trader Funding, restrict Canadians to Ontario or to a simulated-only outcome and are shown in a separate table, never blended into the nationwide order; Apex also carries a serious warning, because its own footer and terms say it is for US users. No payout rail in this post is confirmed to pay out in Canadian dollars.

Freshness: checked October 2, 2026. Firms change prices, promo codes and terms without notice; confirm current figures on the firm’s own checkout before paying. Each firm’s Trustpilot figure carries its own read date.

Quick picks for Canadian prop firm traders
- Cheapest per $1,000 of loss room: Blue Guardian 2 Step Nano, $25.40 per $1,000, though every account stays a simulated demo with no live trading stage.
- Canada named directly: Alpha Capital Group, named outright on the firm’s own country-availability guide rather than left to an absence from an exclusion list.
- Cheapest futures monthly product: Funded Futures Family’s Velocity account, $62.50 per $1,000 a month, though the firm cannot confirm whether Canada is one of its unnamed sim-only countries.
- Live stage open to Canadians, not Ontario-only: Alpha Capital Group, FundingPips, My Funded Futures, Tradeify, Top One Futures and AudaCity Capital all reach a live or funded-live stage with no Canada-specific gate. Each live move is at the firm’s discretion; My Funded Futures, Tradeify and FundingPips say it cannot be declined, Alpha Capital Group pays a final payout if you decline, and the others do not publish decline terms.
- Any CAD or Interac payout rail: none found. Every firm in this post pays in USD, EUR or crypto; FundingPips lets a Canadian select CAD as a pay-in display currency at checkout, but no firm confirms a CAD-denominated payout.
Are prop firms legal in Canada
Yes, with a plain-English explanation worth reading before you buy. Every firm in this post sells access to a simulated or company-owned trading account rather than a securities product, which is why selling one does not require registration with a Canadian securities regulator the way trading or advising on securities for clients does. FTMO’s own terms state it outright: “An FTMO Account is an account with fully fictitious funds… Our clients therefore never actually perform any trades on live markets.” Funded Trading Plus says the same of its own accounts: “All trading accounts are simulated evaluation accounts.”
In Canada, anyone trading or advising on securities for clients must register with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) or a provincial securities commission unless an exemption applies. None of the firms checked for this post publish any such registration, and none of this post’s sources found one. The check any buyer can run themselves is the Canadian Securities Administrators’ National Registration Search, a free public tool that confirms whether a firm or individual is registered to trade or advise on securities in Canada. This is factual information, not legal advice.
How we checked these prop firms for Canadian traders

- Read each firm’s own restricted-countries page or checkout country selector for Canada by name, not a worldwide marketing claim.
- Look for a province-level carve-out (Ontario only) or a stage-level carve-out (simulated funded only, no live account) that applies specifically to Canadians.
- Record the price as the firm shows it; where it is not in Canadian dollars, convert it at the ECB reference rate of October 2, 2026 (EUR/USD 1.1225, so USD/CAD 1.4240) and disclose the rate and date.
- Identify the payout method that actually reaches a Canadian bank account, and the currency it pays in.
- Find the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure at any stage, evaluation or funded, and compute cost per $1,000 of loss room from that figure, never a daily loss limit or a per-position floating-loss rule.

Notes on this ranking: Cost per $1,000 is the list price of the cheapest qualifying $50,000 product, plus any activation fee, divided by the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure the product reaches at any stage, evaluation or funded, never a daily loss limit or a per-position floating-loss rule. Every firm is ranked on whichever of its own $50,000 products is cheapest on this metric, not its cheapest sticker price; several firms sell a cheaper-looking product that actually gives less loss room per dollar, and the marks below show the figure that product would have reached instead. CAD figures use the ECB reference rate of October 2, 2026 (EUR/USD 1.1225, so USD/CAD 1.4240). Ties share a number. “Not on restricted list” means the firm never names Canada as blocked; it is a column here, not a reason to rank higher than a firm that names Canada directly. * Instant Funding Pro, the firm’s only nearest-to-$50K product, costs $1,849 against a $2,000 locking floor at the live checkout today, $924.50 per $1,000, far above this table. IF Evolve, a separate $50,000 product sold at $99 one-time against a $2,000 EOD trailing floor, gives the far cheaper $49.50 figure used here; its own Canada access rests on the same brand-wide restricted-country list as Instant Funding Pro, which does not name Canada. ‖‖ FundingPips is ranked here on 2 Step Flex ($299.00, a 12% static floor giving a $6,000 room), not the firm’s better-known 2 Step Pro ($249.00, a tighter 6% static floor of $3,000, $83.00 per $1,000); Flex’s larger floor more than makes up for its higher sticker price. A third product, 2 Step Standard ($349.00, 10% static, $5,000), sits between the two at $69.80. §§ Alpha Capital Group is ranked here on its Alpha Pro 10% 2-Step ($267.00, about CA$380.21, a 10% static floor giving $5,000 of room), the cheapest of the firm’s own three Alpha Pro sizes on this metric. The firm’s Alpha Pro 6% is cheaper at the till, $217.00 (about CA$309.01), but its 6% floor gives only $3,000 of room, $72.33 per $1,000; Alpha Pro 8% is $297.00 (about CA$422.93) against a $4,000 floor, $74.25 per $1,000; Alpha Swing is $357.00 (about CA$508.37) against a $5,000 floor, $71.40 per $1,000. The 10% plan wins on loss room per dollar even though it is not the cheapest sticker price in the firm’s own lineup. Activation fee is $0 on every size. ¶¶ FundedNext is ranked here on Stellar Lite ($229.99, about CA$327.51, an 8% static floor giving $4,000 of room), not the better-known Stellar 2-Step ($299.99, a 10% static floor of $5,000, $60.00 per $1,000); Lite’s smaller fee outweighs its tighter floor on this metric. Lite’s own fee refund lands with the 3rd Performance Reward rather than the 1st on 2-Step, a real trade-off this metric does not capture. ¶¶¶ E8 Markets is ranked here on E8 Pro with the 10% static maximum loss ($249.00, about CA$354.58, a $5,000 floor, no activation fee), the cheapest of E8 Pro’s three loss settings on this metric at $49.80 per $1,000; the 8% setting is $228.00 against a $4,000 floor ($57.00 per $1,000) and the 6% setting is $218.00 against a $3,000 floor ($72.67 per $1,000). *** Goat Funded Trader is ranked here on 2 Step GOAT ($308.00, about CA$438.59, a 10% static floor giving $5,000 of room), not the 1 Step GOAT product ($314.00, a 6% static floor of $3,000, $104.67 per $1,000) used in an earlier version of this ranking; 2 Step GOAT’s larger floor for a near-identical price makes it the cheaper read on this metric by a wide margin. † The5ers’ own size table shows an 8% maximum loss ($4,000) on the $50K High Stakes account, the reading used here. A separate FAQ on the same site states a 10% maximum loss program-wide, which would put the cost at $49.80 per $1,000, level with E8 Markets, and move The5ers into a shared 3rd place, ahead of FundingPips and behind Instant Funding. ‡ Funded Futures Family’s own restricted-countries page adds a blanket caveat that for some unnamed countries a trader can reach the simulated funded account but never move to live; the firm does not say whether Canada is one of those countries, so this cannot be confirmed or ruled out either way. § Hola Prime blocks Canada specifically on its Match Trader and TradeLocker checkout options; the same 2-Step Prime product is open to Canada on MT5 or cTrader, which is the version priced and ranked here. ††† City Traders Imperium is ranked here on its 2-Step Challenge ($329.00, a static $5,000 floor), not the cheaper-looking 1-Step Challenge ($299.00, a floor that continuously trails the account’s own balance high-watermark and is only $2,500, $119.60 per $1,000); the 2-Step’s larger, fixed floor costs almost half as much per $1,000 of loss room despite the higher sticker price. # FTMO is ranked here on its 1-Step Standard (€319, $358.08 at the ECB rate of 1.1225 dated October 2, 2026, a $5,000 EOD trailing floor), not the firm’s 2-Step Standard (€345, $387.26, the same $5,000 floor but static rather than trailing, $77.45 per $1,000); the 1-Step’s lower fee wins on this metric, though its fee is non-refundable where the 2-Step’s is refunded with the first reward, and its floor can only rise, never a fixed number for the whole evaluation the way the 2-Step’s is. A euro strengthening of about 1.2% would put FTMO level with Tradeify, and about 2% would drop it behind Lucid Trading in the ranking; it would take roughly an 8% move the other way to drop FTMO back into a tie with AudaCity Capital and City Traders Imperium at $65.80. ¶ Lucid Trading’s $146 sticker price drops to $90.20 with the standing VAULT code stacked with a further “limited time” layer with no stated end date. Like every firm here it is ranked on its list price, $73.00 per $1,000. With the standing VAULT code alone ($105.20) it would be $52.60, ahead of Alpha Capital Group in 5th place; with the extra limited-time layer ($90.20) it would be $45.10, 2nd behind Blue Guardian. Check the checkout price on the day you buy. ‡‡‡ Funded Trading Plus is ranked here on 2-Step Classic ($319.00, an 8% static floor of $4,000), not the cheaper-looking 1-Step Express ($349.00, a 6% intraday trailing floor of $3,000, $116.33 per $1,000); 2-Step Classic’s larger, fixed floor costs roughly a third less per $1,000 of loss room despite the higher fee. A third product, Activation Accounts ($4.00 plus $299.00 on passing, a $3,000 floor), works out to $101.00. ‖ BluSky’s Propel 50K evaluation and Buffer Zone stage carry a $2,000 EOD trailing floor; once a trader reaches Sim Funded the account restarts at $3,000 with a $100 static minimum balance, leaving $2,900 of room at that stage, not $100 of total room. The $80.00 figure here uses the $2,000 evaluation-stage floor, the stricter of the two readings. BluSky’s separate Launch 50K plan is not ranked: the firm’s own pages disagree on its Sim Funded floor value ($100 versus $1,000). ** Top One Trader’s NOVA product is cheaper by sticker price ($282) but its smallest floor is a funded-stage 3% daily loss limit, not an overall max-loss figure, which this ranking never uses as the denominator; FLASH’s overall 7% trailing drawdown and 4% daily floor give the figure used here. MT5 is closed to Canada on this firm; TradeLocker and Match Trader are open. †† Top One Trader names Canada only as excluded from its MetaTrader 5 platform specifically, not from the firm’s services overall; TradeLocker and Match Trader remain open to Canadian traders. ‡‡ Tradeify’s live restricted-countries article, updated September 4, 2026, no longer limits Canada to Ontario; an earlier capture of the same page said Ontario only. The live article today names no province at all. Tradeify is ranked here on its Growth 50K evaluation ($145.00, about CA$206.48, no activation fee, a $2,000 EOD trailing floor), the cheaper of its two $50,000 evaluations on this metric at $72.50 per $1,000, not the Select 50K ($165.00, the same $2,000 floor, $82.50 per $1,000). §§§ Funding Traders is ranked here on 1-Step Pro ($492.00, about CA$700.61, a 10% intraday trailing floor of $5,000 that trails the account’s highest balance the account ever reached), not the firm’s 2-Step Pro6 ($387.00, a static $3,000 floor, $129.00 per $1,000) or 2-Step Pro10 ($645.00, a static $5,000 floor, also $129.00 per $1,000); 1-Step Pro’s larger floor relative to its fee makes it the cheaper read on this metric even though its floor trails rather than holding still.
Prop firms with a hidden Trustpilot rating
Eight of the firms ranked nationwide in this post currently show a hidden star rating on Trustpilot, with the platform’s own banner: “This company’s rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines,” usually tied to a note about removed fake reviews. This is stated plainly as a fact about the review platform, never replaced by a firm’s self-claimed score. The eight are Blue Guardian (2,102 reviews), Instant Funding (4,375 reviews), E8 Markets (3,299 reviews), AudaCity Capital (293 reviews), Top One Trader (3,497 reviews), Alpha Capital Group (21,810 reviews), Funded Trading Plus (2,666 reviews) and Funding Traders (3,258 reviews). A hidden rating is not treated as a ranking reason in this post; it is reported here so a buyer can factor it into their own decision.
Blue Guardian is the cheapest product here, with no live trading stage on any account
Verdict: First by cost: the 2 Step Nano’s $5,000 static floor never trails, and $127.00 buys the lowest cost per $1,000 of loss room in this post. The trade-off is structural, not a catch: every Blue Guardian CFD account, including the funded one, stays a simulated demo account with no live-capital stage for anyone.
Video: “Which Blue Guardian Account is Best? (All Rules explained),” Blue Guardian official YouTube channel, May 7, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Blue Guardian’s own explainer of its account rules is the closest official match; no Canada-specific video exists.
The 2 Step Nano lists at $127.00 for a $50,000 account (about CA$180.85 at the October 2, 2026 rate; Blue Guardian shows no CAD price of its own). The $5,000 maximum loss (10%) is static, fixed from the starting balance rather than trailing upward: $127.00 / 5 = $25.40 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest figure in this post.
Canada is absent from Blue Guardian’s restricted-countries list, and the checkout’s province and territory dropdown lists every Canadian province with no restriction. The firm’s own terms carry dedicated Canada and Quebec consumer-law clauses on language, cancellation rights and dispute resolution, a sign the firm actively plans for Canadian buyers rather than simply failing to block them.
- Price at $50K: $127.00 one-time for a $50,000 2 Step Nano account (promo code BG25 cuts it to $95.25, no end date shown).
- Max loss floor: $5,000 static maximum loss, fixed from the starting balance through both phases and the funded stage.
- Canada confirmed: Not on the firm’s restricted-countries list; checkout’s province dropdown lists every Canadian province.
- Live stage for Canadians: No live trading stage exists for anyone, at any pass rate; every account stays a simulated demo account.
- Payout to Canada: No CAD rail. Both payout methods, a Rise bank withdrawal and crypto, settle in USD.
- First watch-out: Every account, including the funded one, is a simulated demo account; there is no live trading stage for anyone on this product.
- Best for: a Canadian trader who wants the cheapest per-$1,000 evaluation in this post and is comfortable trading a simulated account indefinitely.
- Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 2,102 reviews. Blue Guardian profile, review.
Instant Funding sells two different accounts and the cheaper one is not the firm’s flagship
Verdict: Second on the per-$1,000 metric when its separate Evolve product is used: a $99 price against a $2,000 floor gives $49.50 per $1,000, far ahead of the firm’s flagship Instant Funding Pro at $924.50.
Video: no official Instant Funding video covers this exact product, and we do not substitute affiliate videos.
Instant Funding Pro, the firm’s flagship no-evaluation product, is confirmed purchasable for Canada today at the live checkout: $1,849 for the nearest size to $50,000 ($40,000, the firm sells no $50K account on this product), against a Smart Drawdown floor that starts at $4,000 (10%) and locks permanently to $2,000 (5%) the first time the account realizes a 5% balance gain. That gives $924.50 per $1,000 of loss room, far above every other firm in this post. A separate $50,000 product, IF Evolve, sells for $99 one-time against a $2,000 EOD trailing floor (read October 2, 2026; the site-wide discount banner excludes Evolve), giving $49.50 per $1,000, the cheaper, genuinely comparable figure used in the table above.
Instant Funding’s AML Policy names a complete 29-country sanctioned-country list that does not include Canada, and the live checkout’s billing-country selector lists Canada among 225 countries with no block. Both products share the same restricted-country basis, so Evolve’s Canada access rests on the identical finding. Every account at this firm, the GTC states outright, is a virtual account: “Instant Funding ONLY offers a Virtual Account; it does not offer any form of live funded account.”
- Price at $50K: Instant Funding Pro $1,849 one-time at $40,000 (no $50K size exists); IF Evolve $99 one-time at $50,000, a separate product.
- Max loss floor: Instant Funding Pro: $2,000 after the Smart Drawdown locks (10% starting, locking to 5%). IF Evolve: $2,000 EOD trailing.
- Canada confirmed: Not on the firm’s complete sanctioned-country list; checkout’s billing-country selector includes Canada with no block.
- Live stage for Canadians: No live trading stage exists for anyone; the firm’s own terms state it offers no form of live funded account to any customer.
- Payout to Canada: No CAD rail. Only a Rise withdrawal and direct USDC crypto are named, neither CAD-denominated.
- First watch-out: Every Instant Funding account is simulated by the firm’s own terms; a Canadian buyer is paying for a cash reward on simulated performance, never a live brokerage account, regardless of province.
- Best for: a Canadian trader who wants the cheapest per-$1,000 figure at this firm and is comfortable that both products stay simulated forever.
- Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 4,375 reviews. Canada eligibility tool.
E8 Markets keeps every account simulated but never names Canada on any restriction list
Verdict: Third by cost: E8 Pro with the 10% maximum loss costs $249.00 and buys $49.80 per $1,000 of loss room on a static floor, with no Canada-specific carve-out anywhere on the firm’s pages.
Video: “Consistency Rule Explained in 2 minutes (Best Day rule),” E8 Markets official YouTube channel, May 21, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: E8’s own rules explainer covering the consistency rule is the closest official video; no Canada-specific cut exists.
E8 Pro with the 10% maximum loss lists at $249.00 for a $50,000 account (about CA$354.58 at the October 2, 2026 rate; E8’s own checkout reads in USD with no CAD-native price option), with no activation fee. The $5,000 maximum loss (10%) is static. $249.00 / 5 = $49.80 per $1,000 of loss room, the cheapest of E8 Pro’s three loss settings on this metric; the 8% setting costs $228.00 for a $4,000 floor ($57.00 per $1,000).¶¶¶ Every E8 Pro setting carries a 2.5% daily drawdown ($1,250 at $50,000) that ends the account if breached.
Canada is absent from E8’s live restricted-country list and from its separate Restricted Products and Allocation Limits section, which names only a handful of other countries for narrower caps. This is an absence-based finding, not an affirmative Canada-accepted statement; no stage ever becomes a genuinely live brokerage account for anyone at E8, including the Performance (funded-equivalent) stage.
- Price at $50K: $249.00 one-time for a $50,000 E8 Pro account with the 10% maximum loss (code E8 cuts it to $187.00 on a first order, no stated end date).
- Max loss floor: $5,000 static maximum loss, identical at both the SimFi Challen
