Every page-one list times prop firms for someone who trades every weekday. We timed 18 firms for someone with a job: two sessions a week, +$250 each on a $50K account, from the first evaluation trade to the first payout request. Fastest futures route: Topstep Combine 50K on the no-activation path, 7.5 weeks ($95.00 per $1,000 of loss room after two monthly bills). Fastest forex route: For Traders Pay After Pass 1-Step, 6.1 weeks, thanks to a 2% target. E8 Pro 6% (7.1 weeks) allows 60 days between trades, the longest break here, and LucidFlex 50K is the cheapest per $1,000 at a part-time pace ($68.00). Rules counted in trading days stretch to about 2.5 times the calendar time at two sessions a week; rules counted in calendar days do not. Monthly billing charges you for the extra months, and weekly activity rules (Tradeify, MyFundedFutures, Bulenox) end the account if work takes a whole week. Apex and Bulenox’s 30-day evaluations allow 8 sessions at that pace against the 12 a $3,000 target needs.

Freshness: rules, prices and floors checked October 7, 2026 on each firm’s own pages. Firms change terms without notice; re-check before you buy. Each Trustpilot figure carries the date we read it.

Quick picks among the best prop firms for part-time traders
- Fastest futures route at two sessions a week: Topstep Combine 50K, no-activation path, then the Consistency payout path. 7.5 weeks to a first request; cancel the $95 subscription the day you pass.
- Fastest forex route: For Traders Pay After Pass 1-Step $50K. A 2% target, $39 to start and $329 only if you pass; 6.1 weeks.
- Longest break between trades: E8 Pro $50K, 6%. 60 days between closed trades, longer if you email support before you travel; 7.1 weeks.
- Cheapest per $1,000 at a part-time pace: LucidFlex 50K at $68.00 (futures, one fee, no weekly rule) and FTMO 1-Step at $71.62 (forex).
- Best for evening Globex trading: LucidFlex 50K. Trading resumes at 6:00 PM ET, positions can run to 4:45 PM ET the next day, no news restrictions and no weekly activity rule.
- Avoid if work takes whole weeks away: Tradeify Select and MyFundedFutures Pro, which need a trade every week, and any 30-day evaluation (Apex, Bulenox qualification).
Why a brand-level answer misleads: the clock is set per product. Topstep’s two billing paths take the same 7.5 weeks but cost different amounts, E8 Pro takes 7.1 weeks with a 6% drawdown and 11.1 weeks with 10%, and Lucid’s LucidFlex ranks while its LucidDaily is ruled out by an intraday funded floor.
Best futures prop firms for part-time traders, ranked by weeks to a first payout
Six futures products pass the part-time test: no deadline that runs out before the target, an activity rule a two-session week meets, and no account-ending rule that trails open profit. One product per firm, the fastest that passes.

Notes on this ranking: Rows sort on weeks to the first payout request, then part-time cost per $1,000 of loss room, then list price. Lucid Trading, Tradeify and TradeDay tie at 8.5 weeks and are separated on cost. † TradeDay’s own page gives two floors for the Funded Live stage, the “same End of Day drawdown” as the original $2,000 account and a worked example of $1,500. We use $1,500; on $2,000 the figure is $189.00 and the rank is unchanged. ‡ MyFundedFutures’ 9.6 weeks uses its own option to withdraw up to 60% of profit before the buffer is cleared, with a $1,000 minimum. On the standard path (clear the $2,100 buffer first) Pro takes 12.6 weeks, and the Builder 50K with the $1,500 floor option would be the firm’s fastest at 10.6 weeks and $83.33; it would still rank fifth. § Phidias’ pages disagree on minimum days for Express to Live (none on the product grid, 3 in its general rules). We use 3; the $2,500 target needs 10 sessions either way. ¶ Phidias’ figure is high because its Express to Live 50K has a $650 static floor, about a third of the $2,000 the other 50K futures accounts give you, and the evaluation bills $278 a month. Monthly products count every month billed at two sessions a week, assuming you cancel the day you pass.
Best forex and CFD prop firms for part-time traders, ranked by weeks to a first payout
Eight forex and CFD products pass. A hard daily loss limit that ends the account is the normal shape of a forex account, so it is shown as a watch-out rather than used to rule a product out.

Notes on this ranking: Rows sort on weeks to the first payout request, then part-time cost per $1,000 of loss room, then list price. * The firm publishes no time for one hand-over step (between phases, or from passing to the funded account), so we count it as 0 and the real wait can be longer. ◊ E8’s $218 for the 6% version is its configurator price read on October 6, 2026; the page data on October 7 showed $228 for the default 8% version. E8 Pro with the 10% drawdown costs only $49.80 per $1,000 but takes 11.1 weeks because the target rises with the drawdown. † Alpha Capital Group’s help article sets a 6% trailing floor ($3,000), while its checkout data lists $5,000. We use $3,000; on $5,000 the figure would be $55.40 and the weeks are unchanged. ° No activation fee is published, so the figure is the price alone; we do not assume the fee is $0. FTMO prices in euros: €319 converted at the ECB reference rate of 1.1225 on October 2, 2026 is $358.08.
How we timed prop firms for part-time traders

The scenario: 2 sessions a week, +$250 net per session on a $50K account (0.5% of the size on other sizes: $125 at $25K, $500 at $100K), never breaking a rule. It is the same $250 per session our fast-payouts guide uses for a trader who trades every weekday, so the two guides compare directly. It is an illustration of each firm’s rules, not a forecast of anyone’s results: real traders have losing days, and every losing day adds sessions.
- Sources: each firm’s rules page, help centre, terms and checkout, read on October 7, 2026; CME Group’s own contract page for futures session hours.
- A session: one trading day in the firm’s own sense. Two a week, evenly spaced, leaves gaps of up to four days, which matters for activity rules.
- The test: no evaluation deadline that runs out before the scenario reaches the target, an activity rule a two-session week can meet at every stage, and no account-ending rule we grade as severe (a floor that trails open profit, an uncleared payout queue the firm itself reports).
- The rank: weeks to the first payout request, then part-time cost per $1,000 of loss room, then list price. One product per firm. No-evaluation products are ranked in their own table.
- Warnings, not ranks: a live call-up, a weekly activity rule, a hidden Trustpilot rating or a dated pattern of complaints is named first in the firm’s watch-outs, in the same order for every firm.
Weeks to first payout request = for each stage, the larger of (sessions ÷ 2) and (any calendar-day wait ÷ 7), where sessions = the largest of the minimum days, the profit needed ÷ $250, and the days a consistency rule forces; plus the firm’s published maximum hand-over time.
Part-time cost per $1,000 of loss room = (list price × months billed at two sessions a week + activation fee) ÷ overall maximum-loss floor × 1,000
Worked example, Topstep: the $3,000 target needs 12 sessions (six weeks); the funded account then needs 3 trading days with no day above 40% of total profit (three sessions, a week and a half), so 7.5 weeks. Six weeks of a $95 monthly subscription is two bills: $190 ÷ the $2,000 floor × 1,000 = $95.00. We also show a rules-only figure in each firm’s block (the same clock if the profit came at once) so you can see how much of the wait is the firm’s rule and how much is the target. List prices set the rank; codes are shown with their end dates, a fee a firm does not publish is never treated as $0, and where a firm’s own pages disagree we use the slower or smaller figure and mark it. Full method: how we rank.
Futures or forex first? Futures firms close you out every afternoon in New York and trade an evening session from 6:00 PM ET, which suits a US evening trader; forex and CFD firms trade around the clock on weekdays and most allow overnight and weekend holds, which suits a trader in Europe or Asia or anyone who wants to leave a position running. That is why each market is ranked on its own.
Trading days vs calendar days for part-time prop traders

This is the finding no ranking page shows. A full-time trader trades about five days a week, so a rule of five trading days takes one week. At two sessions a week the same rule takes two and a half weeks, about 2.5 times the calendar time. A rule written in calendar days (“the 14th day after the first trade”) takes 14 days whoever you are. For a part-timer, calendar clocks are the friendly ones, and session clocks are the slow ones. The firms in this guide split like this:
- Counted in trading days or winning days (stretch at a part-time pace): Topstep’s 3 funded trading days, Lucid’s 5 days of $150, Tradeify’s 5 winning days, TradeDay’s 5 profitable days, Phidias’ 3 minimum days, The5ers’ 3 profitable days, FundedNext’s 2 evaluation days and Apex’s 5 qualifying days per payout.
- Counted in calendar days (do not stretch): FTMO’s 14th day after the first funded trade, The5ers’ 14 days from activation, MyFundedFutures’ 14 days from the first trade, FundingPips’ 7-day weekly cycle, FundedNext’s 5 business days and Funded Trading Plus’ 7 days between requests.
- Counted in profit only: E8 Pro (1% of new profit), For Traders (above a 3% buffer), Alpha Capital Group (2% of profit) and Funded Trading Plus’ first request ($50 in profit). These run exactly as fast as your sessions earn.
- Calendar clocks that hurt: deadlines and inactivity windows are also calendar clocks, and they run against you. Apex’s and Bulenox’s 30-day evaluation windows and every 30-day inactivity rule keep ticking whether you trade or not.
Consistency rules add sessions too. A best day capped at 40% of total profit means at least three days; 20% means at least six. At $250 a session these rarely bind once the target needs 12 sessions or more, but on small funded thresholds they decide the clock: For Traders’ “best day below 20%” rule needs six sessions before its first request, almost as many as its $1,600 profit threshold.
A two-sessions-a-week calendar at the top part-time prop firms
Here are the two fastest ranked products traded on Monday and Wednesday evenings from Monday, October 12, 2026, at +$250 a session. The weeks figure in the tables counts every session as half a week, so a steady two-evening rhythm lands a little earlier than the table suggests.
- Topstep, October 12: buy the no-activation Combine (first $95 bill) and trade. Evening trades after 5:00 PM CT count toward the next day, which does not change the count.
- Topstep, November 11: second $95 bill, on the day of the tenth session ($2,500 so far).
- Topstep, Wednesday November 18: twelfth session, $3,000 reached, no day above 55% of it. Cancel the subscription, choose the Consistency path, and the funded account arrives within minutes.
- Topstep, November 23, 25 and 30: three funded sessions, $750 in profit, each day 33% of the total. Request on Monday, November 30: up to 50% of the balance, $375, paid at 90%.
- For Traders, October 12: pay the $39 entry and trade the 2% target.
- For Traders, Wednesday October 21: fourth session, $1,000 reached. Pay the $329 activation within 5 days; review and contract take up to three business days.
- For Traders, October 28 to November 18: seven Master account sessions, $1,750 in profit, best day 14% of the total.
- For Traders, Wednesday November 18: request the $250 above the $1,500 buffer ($100 minimum), paid at 80%.
In this example the futures trader paid $190 and the forex trader $368 before either requested a payout, and both first requests are small: buffers and caps keep most of the early profit in the account. Five to seven weeks from first trade to first request, against roughly three weeks for someone trading every weekday at the same $250 a session, is the honest answer to “how long until I am paid” for someone with a job.
Monthly billing at a part-time pace in prop firm evaluations
A monthly evaluation charges you for time, and a part-timer uses more of it. At two sessions a week a 12-session target takes six weeks, two billing cycles, where a trader on every weekday would pass inside one. We count every month billed at our pace, assuming you cancel the day you pass, and show the one-month figure beside it:
| Product | Price a month | Weeks to pass | Months billed | Part-time $ per $1K | One-month $ per $1K |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Topstep Combine 50K, no-activation path | $95 | 6.0 | 2 | $95.00 | $47.50 |
| Topstep Combine 50K, standard path (+$149) | $49 | 6.0 | 2 | $123.50 | $99.00 |
| TradeDay Fast Pass EOD 50K | $189 | 6.0 | 2 | $252.00 | $126.00 |
| Phidias Express to Live 50K (+$149 on passing) | $278 | 5.0 | 2 | $1,084.62 | $656.92 |
| Alpha Futures Standard 50K (cautionary) | $129 | 6.0 | 2 | $129.00 | $64.50 |
| Take Profit Trader Test 50K (+$130 PRO fee) | $170 | 6.0 | 2 | $235.00 | $150.00 |
One-time products (Lucid, Tradeify, MyFundedFutures and every ranked forex product) cost the same at any pace, which is part of why LucidFlex is the cheapest futures evaluation per $1,000 here. A losing week or a missed week moves a monthly product into a third bill, while a one-time product only costs time. Topstep and TradeDay both say subscriptions keep billing until you pass or cancel, and Topstep’s cannot be paused.
The busy-month test for part-time prop firm accounts
Work does not always leave two evenings free. Assume you trade the day before a break and nothing until you return; this is what each ranked funded account’s published rule does with 8, 15 and 31 days off:
| Firm and product | 8 days off | 15 days off | 31 days off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Topstep Combine 50K, no-activation path | Survives | Survives | May be closed; no hold option |
| Lucid Trading LucidFlex 50K | Survives | Survives | Deleted (no $1 trade in 30 days) |
| Tradeify Select 50K, Flex payouts | Survives if each week has a trade | Deleted after an email warning | Deleted after an email warning |
| TradeDay Fast Pass EOD 50K | Survives | Survives | May be offboarded; Tradovate may archive |
| MyFundedFutures Pro 50K | Could be closed unless you told support | Could be closed unless you told support | Could be closed unless you told support |
| Phidias Express to Live 50K, monthly | No rule published | No rule published | No rule published; get it in writing |
| For Traders Pay After Pass 1-Step $50K | Survives | Survives | Terminated (no closed trade in 30 days) |
| E8 Markets E8 Pro $50K, 6% | Survives | Survives | Survives (60-day rule) |
| Funded Trading Plus 1-Step Express $50K | Survives | Survives | Breached |
| FundedNext Stellar 1-Step $50K | Survives | Survives | Expired; no extension |
| The5ers Pro Growth $50K | Survives | Survives | Expired |
| Alpha Capital Group Alpha One 10% $50K | Survives | Survives | Deactivated; contact support before |
| FTMO 1-Step $50K | Survives | Survives | Not public before purchase; ask |
| FundingPips 2 Step Pro $50K, weekly | Survives | Survives | Breached |
Three patterns matter. Weekly rules (Tradeify, MyFundedFutures) fail a two-week trip; 30-day rules fail a month; only E8 Pro’s published rule survives 31 days (Phidias publishes no rule at all). Asking first helps at three firms: E8 lets you travel if you email before you go, MyFundedFutures asks you to tell support before more than 7 days off, and Alpha Capital Group asks traders planning 30 days or more away to contact support. Tradeify and Topstep say their accounts cannot be put on hold. And on Tradovate-based accounts (TradeDay among them), log in once a calendar month even with nothing to trade.
When part-time prop traders can trade and hold
CME Group publishes the futures session these firms trade: “CME Globex: Sunday 6:00 p.m. – Friday – 5:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. CT) with a daily maintenance period from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. ET (4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. CT)”. So the futures market reopens at 6:00 PM in New York, which is the evening session a trader with a day job actually uses, and every ranked futures firm counts it. Each firm then sets its own flat-by time, and that is the time to convert:
| What happens | New York | London | Sydney |
|---|---|---|---|
| CME Globex reopens for the evening | 6:00 PM | 11:00 PM | 9:00 AM next day |
| Topstep flat-by (3:10 PM CT) | 4:10 PM | 9:10 PM | 7:10 AM next day |
| MyFundedFutures flat-by | 4:10 PM | 9:10 PM | 7:10 AM next day |
| Lucid Trading and Tradeify flat-by | 4:45 PM | 9:45 PM | 7:45 AM next day |
| TradeDay auto-liquidation (3:50 PM CT) | 4:50 PM | 9:50 PM | 7:50 AM next day |
| CME Globex daily maintenance break | 5:00 to 6:00 PM | 10:00 to 11:00 PM | 8:00 to 9:00 AM |
| FundingPips daily auto-close (no Swing add-on) | 4:45 to 5:00 PM | 9:45 to 10:00 PM | 7:45 to 8:00 AM |
For a New York evening trader the futures day is open from 6:00 PM, and the flat-by is the next afternoon. For a London evening trader the US afternoon falls between 7 and 10 PM, so most ranked futures firms close you out between about 9:10 and 9:50 PM London time, and the market itself pauses from 10 to 11 PM. For a Sydney evening trader (about 4 to 7 AM in New York) the futures overnight session is open and the flat-by falls the next morning.
- Overnight within a trading day: allowed at every ranked futures firm except Phidias’ Express to Live, as long as you are flat by the firm’s time. No ranked futures product allows a weekend hold.
- Forex weekend holds: allowed at For Traders, E8 Pro, Funded Trading Plus’ 1-Step Express, FundedNext, The5ers and Alpha One. FTMO’s Standard funded account and FundingPips’ Master accounts without the Swing add-on close you before the weekend.
- News windows that bite a fixed-time trader: TradeDay and MyFundedFutures Pro (2 minutes either side of the top US releases), FTMO Standard funded (2 minutes), For Traders’ and FundingPips’ funded accounts and Alpha Capital Group (5 minutes), FundedNext (40% of profit counted inside 5 minutes). Topstep, Lucid Flex, Tradeify, Phidias, E8 Pro and The5ers publish no blackout for ordinary trading.
- Mobile: TopstepX runs in a phone browser but has no app; TradeDay points traders to Tradovate’s app; For Traders and FundingPips name cTrader’s mobile apps; E8 names TradeLocker on mobile; The5ers names MT5 and cTrader apps for non-US clients. Our prop firms with mobile apps guide compares them.
Drawdown rules for part-time prop traders who cannot watch the screen
A part-timer often places a trade and goes back to work or to bed, so how the loss floor moves matters more than its size. Three shapes appear here:
- End-of-day trailing: the floor follows your closing balance, not your best moment in the day. Topstep, Lucid Flex, Tradeify, TradeDay and MyFundedFutures Pro use it, with $2,000 at 50K; most lock it at or just above the starting balance. Our end-of-day drawdown guide ranks the field on that rule.
