We checked 20 one-step prop firm evaluations, ranked by what happens at BOTH the single evaluation phase and the funded stage that follows it, checked October 2, 2026. 7 of the 20 add or tighten at least one rule the moment the account is funded, and 4 more see a mix of a rule easing and a new rule appearing; only 8 carry the exact same rule set through, unchanged. Four products price their profit target exactly equal to their entire max-loss budget, a 1.00x ratio with no cushion left over: FundingPips, E8 Markets, FTMO, Funding Traders. Three more products pass the one-step test on their evaluation phase but set a funded-stage floor that trails open, unrealized profit rather than a closed balance or an end-of-day mark, so they are shown separately rather than ranked alongside the rest: Top One Trader 1-Step FLASH, AquaFunded 1 Step Standard, and Elite Trader Funding’s 1 Step 50K Live Trailing Eval.

Freshness: checked October 2, 2026. Firms change terms without notice; re-check before you buy. Each firm’s Trustpilot figure carries the date we read it.

What a one-step prop firm evaluation is

A one-step evaluation is a prop firm product that names exactly one pass/fail phase before a trader reaches a funded (usually simulated) account. The firm’s own pages must name one phase, not two, and the product must be buyable today; a legacy or discontinued SKU does not count. Removing a phase is a structural choice about how many gates stand between a buyer and a funded account; it says nothing on its own about the rules that apply once that account is funded, which is exactly the gap this post’s angle tests.
One-step differs from a two-step evaluation in the number of pass/fail phases before funding, and from instant funding in whether there is an evaluation phase at all. Instant funding skips the evaluation entirely and funds (simulates funding on) an account directly from purchase; a one-step evaluation still has exactly one phase to clear first. Purdia Capital’s EOD Instant Funded product, covered in its own section below, is this post’s clearest example of the instant-funding boundary: its own knowledge base states plainly that no evaluation phase exists for that product.
See also our guide to forex prop firms with instant funding and our prop firms with no minimum trading days guide, since several one-step products in this post also carry no minimum-day requirement during the evaluation.
One-step vs two-step at the same firm
Removing a phase usually means trading a looser combined target for a tighter single target, or a trailing floor for a static one, or both. The table below compares five firms’ one-step product against their own two-step sibling at the same brand, with the target, max loss and floor type for each, re-checked against each firm’s own published arithmetic.
| Firm | One-step target / max loss | One-step price | Two-step combined target / max loss | Floor compared |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FTMO | 10% target / 10% max loss, EOD trailing | €319 | 10%+5%=15% combined target / 10% max loss, static | One-step trails daily; two-step is fixed at 90% of the starting balance for the whole run. |
| FundedNext | 10% target / 6% max loss, static | $65.99 ($6K) | 8%+5%=13% combined target / 10% max loss, static | Both static; the one-step floor is tighter in percentage terms (6% vs 10%). |
| Blue Guardian | 10% target / 6% max loss, EOD-trailing to lock | $26.66 ($5K) | 8%+5%=13% combined target / 10% max loss, static | Same brand, different mechanics: the one-step floor is explicitly labelled trailing by the firm; the two-step floor is explicitly labelled static. |
| FXIFY | 10% target / 6% max loss, trails the closed balance to +6% then locks | $379 ($50K) | Phase 1: 5% target / 10% max loss, static (figures read at $5K, not $50K; sizes not comparable, stated here for the mechanic only) | One-step trails and locks; two-step Phase 1 is a fixed static floor at a different size. |
| Top One Trader | 10% target / 7% max loss, intraday trailing to +7% then locks | $286 ($50K) | 8%+5%=13% combined target / 9% max loss, static | One-step trails unrealized peak equity; two-step PRO V2 uses a fixed static floor instead. |
- FTMO: One-step ratio 1:1; two-step combined ratio 1.5:1 (15%/10%), a looser budget for a second phase and no refund on the 1-Step.
- FundedNext: One-step ratio 1.67x; two-step combined ratio 1.3x. Removing a phase also tightens the daily loss (3% vs 5%) and max loss (6% vs 10%) floors proportionally, not just the phase count.
- Blue Guardian: One-step ratio 1.67x; two-step combined ratio 1.3x, trading a looser ratio for a genuinely fixed, non-trailing floor.
- FXIFY: One-step ratio 1.67x vs the two-step Phase 1’s 0.5x at $5K; the two figures are priced at different sizes and are not a same-size comparison.
- Top One Trader: One-step ratio 1.43x; two-step combined ratio 1.44x, nearly identical on raw ratio. The real difference here is floor type and phase count, not how generous the target is relative to the loss floor.
How we checked which prop firms offer a one-step evaluation

- Sources: each firm’s help centre, FAQ, rules page and checkout, read October 2, 2026; never a bot vendor’s list or a competing roundup.
- Rank rule: a product ranks when the firm’s own current pages name exactly one evaluation phase, it is buyable today, and its max-loss floor does not trail open, unrealized profit at either stage.
- Grouping: ranked products are grouped by what the funded stage does to the rules, no added rule and no account-ending daily loss first, then a standard forex daily loss that ends the account, then products with named funded-stage watch-outs, and within each group ordered by list price per $1,000 of account at the size priced.
- Size discipline: every price is stated at the size it was read; a $5K price is never shown beside a $50K price as if comparable.
- Arms: a forex/CFD arm and a futures arm of the same brand are separate listings; FXIFY (forex/CFD, ranked) and FXIFY Futures (futures, contrast section) are never merged.
A hidden Trustpilot rating is never a reason to rank a firm lower; it is stated plainly and covered in its own section below. A firm that can call a trader up to a live account at its own discretion is named in that firm’s watch-out as a warning; it does not change the ranking.

| FundingPips 1 Step Flex | No minimum-day requirement stated for the evaluation itself. | Bi-Weekly cycle: 1% of account size minimum profit, no consistency gate. | FXIFY One Phase Assessment | 5 trading days | On demand after the first profitable trade, minimum 5 trading days | None shown on the product card | News and weekend holding allowed; rules match the evaluation exactly | Payout locks the trailing drawdown at the starting balance, no cushion left |
| FunderPro One Phase Challenge | The live checkout table shows no minimum-day figure, though the firm’s own products API separately lists a 1-day minimum for this product. | First reward available 14 days after funding (7 days with the paid add-on), once $100 profit is held. | None (dropped entirely once funded) | Funded accounts must close positions before the weekend and cannot hold through scheduled news releases unless the paid Swing add-on is bought. | Best-day consistency cap applies only during the evaluation, not once funded |

| Alpha Trader Firm 1-Step PRO Challenge (futures) | None during evaluation | 5 profitable days at 0.5%+ each, Payout Structure says every 5 days; the funded rules table instead says 3 minimum days per payout, a firm-page self-contradiction | Not enforced per the table (the firm’s own Key Notes bullets disagree) | Alpha Trader Firm does not publish a separate news or weekend rule for 1-Step PRO; the consistency-rule page conflict is the firm’s clearest documented inconsistency. | Firm’s own Consistency Rule page contradicts itself on which stage applies |
| E8 Markets E8 Pro (Classic Markets / Forex) | No minimum-day requirement, but the account must trade once every 60 days to stay active. | On demand, daily; 1% of initial balance minimum | None at either stage | E8 Markets does not publish a separate news or weekend rule; the payout formula paying only half of realized profit matters more. | Each payout pays only 80 to 100% of HALF the realized profit |
| Blue Guardian 1 Step Nano | None during evaluation | 5 profitable days at 0.5%+ each, every 7 days | 50% consistency rule applies to both the Challenge and Funded Account | News trading restricted only once funded; profits from news trades can be removed | Floor is EOD-trailing, not static, unlike the same brand’s 2-Step product |
| Alpha Capital Group Alpha One 10% | 1 minimum trading day | 2% gross profit plus a 40% Best Day Rule; KYC required | 40% Best Day Rule continues | Alpha Capital Group does not publish a separate news or weekend rule; the drawdown lock at the initial balance is the funded-stage detail to watch. | Withdrawing all profit after the drawdown lock automatically closes the account |
| City Traders Imperium CTI 1-Step Challenge | 3 profitable trading days | 7 profitable trading days, 2% net profit or $100 minimum | None added at the funded stage | News and weekend holding allowed at both stages per the product page | Same-rule claim rests on one blog sentence, not the product page itself |

| FTMO Challenge 1-Step (Standard) | No minimum-day requirement stated for the evaluation itself. | On request, 14 days after the first trade; 50% Best Day Rule must be met | 50% Best Day Rule continues to gate every Reward request | A 2-minute news lockout and a pre-weekend close rule both activate only once funded | Entry fee is never refunded on the 1-Step, unlike FTMO’s own 2-Step |

| Finotive Funding 1-Step Challenge | 3 profitable trading days | On demand once funded, then every 7 calendar days | 2.0% Floating Drawdown becomes a live, strike-triggering rule once funded | Finotive Funding does not publish a separate news or weekend rule; the Floating Drawdown rule switching from silent to enforced is the funded-stage change that matters. | Floating Drawdown rule is dormant in evaluation, strike-triggering once funded |
| AudaCity Capital Ability One (1 Step) | 3 trading days (evaluation only) | 14 days after the first live-stage trade | No consistency or best-day rule is named; the daily and max drawdown figures are the only risk gates. | News trading and weekend holding both remain allowed once funded | Firm keeps a discretionary right to end any account without explanation |
| Top One Trader 1-Step FLASH | 3 profitable trading days | 2% minimum payout, account in good standing, max drawdown respected | No consistency or best-day rule is named for FLASH beyond the funded-only 3% daily profit cap. | FLASH adds a 3% daily profit cap and a news-trading block only once funded. | Floor trails unrealized peak equity; three new rules switch on once funded |

| Elite Trader Funding 1 Step 50K Live Trailing Eval | 5 trading days | 8 ATDs ($200+ realized profit and 23%+ of the best ATD’s P&L each) | Best-day-style cap built into the 23%-of-best-ATD payout rule above | Not published separately for this product. | Floor trails OPEN profit; a new Loss Limit Rule appears only once funded |
What changes after you pass a one-step evaluation
Of the 20 ranked products, 7 add or tighten a rule at the funded stage, 4 see a mix of a rule easing and a new rule appearing, 1 (Alpha Trader Firm) sees a rule drop to not enforced, and 8 carry an identical rule set through unchanged. Every competitor roundup stops at pass one phase and get funded; that is only half the product, so we read each firm’s one-step product through both states, the rules during the single evaluation phase, and the rules that switch on once funded.
Worked example, tighter: FTMO Traders trading on an FTMO Account must comply with… a time window starting 2 minutes before and ending 2 minutes after the release… you are required to close your positions shortly before the markets close for the weekend. FTMO’s 1-Step adds a news lockout and a pre-weekend close rule the moment a trader is funded, neither of which applied during the single evaluation phase.
Worked example, mixed: Minimum Trading Days: No minimum required in the FundedNext Account. Profit Target: No Profit Target requirement. FundedNext requires traders to limit risk to a maximum of 3% at any given time. Trades within 5 minutes of high-impact news: only 40% of profits count. FundedNext’s Stellar 1-Step removes the trading-days and profit-target requirements once funded, but adds a 3% live-risk cap and a 40% news profit split that did not exist during the evaluation.
Worked example, unchanged: The profit target, maximum loss, and daily pause remain the same for the pro stages for Hyper Growth Program. The5ers’ Hyper Growth is the clearest same-rules case in this ranking.
One-step evaluation drawdown types explained
Static: the max-loss floor is fixed to a percentage of the starting balance and does not move as the account grows. FunderPro’s One Phase Challenge sets a static 6% floor: on the $10K product priced in this post, that is a fixed $600 floor regardless of how much profit the account later banks.
End-of-day trailing: the floor recalculates once per day from the highest end-of-day balance, then typically locks once the account clears a set profit threshold. FXIFY’s One Phase Assessment trails the closed trading balance until the account is up 6%, then locks; on the $50K product priced here, that is a $3,000 floor that can rise as the account’s daily closing balance rises, then stops moving once locked.
Trailing open (unrealized) profit: the floor trails the account’s highest intraday mark-to-market value, including open positions that have not yet been closed. Elite Trader Funding’s 1 Step 50K Live Trailing Eval states plainly that the floor moves up the moment an open trade shows unrealized profit, before that profit is ever realized; this is the floor type behind this post’s shown-separately section.
Ranked one-step prop firms
Ranked by the rank rule above: no account-ending rule change at the funded stage first, then a standard forex daily loss, then products with named funded-stage watch-outs, ordered within each group by list price per $1,000 of account at the size priced.
1. The5ers Hyper Growth 1-Step carries the same 6% stop-out and 3% pause through to the funded account
Verdict: This suits a trader who wants the fewest rule changes after passing; the trade-off is that first payout waits a flat 14 days no matter how fast the account qualifies.
