The best courses for passing prop firm challenges should teach the skill you lack before you buy an evaluation. A1 Trading, AudaCity, FTMO and Trader FDAX tie on five documented challenge skills and $0 required study spend. FXIFY and Tradeify show four fields; FundedNext shows three. Five narrower foundations are compared separately. CTI’s full starter course requires a $29 one-time account purchase, or $5.80 per documented skill, and its three free previews are not full access. Five other providers remain outside the ranking because their complete syllabus, access or learning bill is unresolved. These are curriculum and access comparisons, not tested course outcomes or pass probabilities.

Quick course picks before buying a prop firm challenge

  • Broad free challenge curriculum: A1 Trading, AudaCity, FTMO and Trader FDAX tie on five documented fields at $0 required study spend. The tie is not a teaching-quality result.
  • Futures first-trade orientation: Tradeify describes a demo drill; TPT offers a narrower paper-order foundation. Both remain separate from the account purchase.
  • Strategy and journal foundation: The5ers ICT course covers three fields; pair it with the exact challenge rulebook.
  • Buyer-only bundle: CTI requires a $29 account purchase for full access. Three free previews are not the full course.

Choose the course for the problem you need to solve. A public syllabus can show useful coverage, but neither a higher field count nor a free price establishes improved pass probability. Five other providers are compared below with unresolved syllabus, access or full-cost questions.

Prop firm challenge courses compared on access and cost

The first seven rows are challenge-specific because an evaluation-rule component is explicitly described. The following five are foundations. Within each group the order is required spend per documented skill, then more confirmed skills, then lower total spend. Exact ties share competition ranks; alphabetical display order within a tie is not a superiority claim.

Pre-purchase course access and list tuition. Challenge-specific rows first, then foundations.

Prop firm course skills compared on the same evidence

Each course is checked against five areas, using named lessons or explicit provider-written teaching descriptions. Shown means documented; Not listed means a complete inspected syllabus did not name that component; Unknown means the material did not resolve it. Generic academy promises do not fill an unknown. A review component can be journaling or performance-tracking setup, not necessarily backtesting.

How we ranked courses for prop firm challenges

Best courses for passing prop firm challenges with the general Prop Trader's Guide fee, rule, payout, review and video checks
The wider series checks fees, account rules, payout terms, brand reviews and videos. Course ranking uses syllabus and access evidence, not payout scores.

We reviewed 18 providers and 64 named course entries, then selected one course per provider or arm. Two are independent course providers. Twelve pre-purchase courses meet the public syllabus and access test, CTI is a separate buyer-only bundle, and five providers remain conditional. The course count measures discovery coverage, not the lessons a student must complete.

  1. Identify the product. A named course or ordered lesson series must have its own syllabus and present access terms. Streams, signals and funded-only coaching do not become a course by association.
  2. Count explicit skills. Evaluation rules, drawdown or sizing, trade planning or execution, review or testing, and discipline each earn one field only when a named component supports them. Unknowns remain unknown.
  3. Price required study access. Add list tuition, required setup and any mandatory account purchase over the documented learning period. Optional rewards, tools or challenges are separate. Unknown compulsory costs do not become zero.
  4. Separate course purposes. Compare challenge-specific courses with one another and foundations separately. Buyer-only and unresolved-access offers do not enter the free preparation table.
  5. Retain ties and limits. Required USD spend divided by confirmed fields gives a curriculum-cost metric, not return on investment, teaching effectiveness or pass probability.

BestProps has not enrolled in, completed or graded these courses, traded the demonstrations, installed an EA or measured course-student passing and payout outcomes. Public lesson text, syllabuses and provider-written video descriptions establish advertised coverage only. Course details and brand reviews can have different dates. Each dated claim retains its own date.

What a prop firm challenge tests and what a course cannot buy

A retail challenge sells access to an evaluation under a contract, not a course completion credential that automatically creates funding. The trader must meet the named product’s objective while avoiding its loss and conduct limits. A one-step or multi-step process can lead to another simulated account with performance rewards, or a later live stage, rather than capital deposited into the trader’s own brokerage account. Read the exact model instead of treating the account-size label as usable loss capital.

Education is a different purchase. A syllabus can teach the mechanics, execution or study habits; buying an evaluation creates a separate testing obligation. Instant funding removes an evaluation stage on the advertised model, not drawdown limits, conduct restrictions or payout conditions. A traditional broker account uses the trader’s own deposited funds and its own trading terms. These distinctions appear in A1’s named introductory lessons and explain why comparing tuition is not another account-price leaderboard.

Choose the firm separately from the course. Check the correct market and arm, geographic eligibility, platform, current evaluation and funded agreement, mandatory charges, refund terms and withdrawal policy. A free course does not establish that the firm accepts you or suits your strategy. Brand reviews can help identify questions but are neither proof of course teaching nor a guarantee that your payment will be approved.

The useful budget question is whether you can explain and practise the rules before buying another attempt. Repeated evaluation purchases do not fix an unfamiliar order ticket, an untested setup or an ignored loss limit. Conversely, paying for a diploma does not remove the need to check the actual challenge rulebook. The optional account, subscription and reward differences below make those choices visible.

A1 Trading course for reading before buying a challenge

The useful starting point in A1 Trading’s Prop Firm Trading Course is the decision before payment. Its eight-part public reading collection compares a prop firm with a broker, instant funding with an evaluation, and trailing with static drawdown. A1 is an independent course provider, not the education department of a ranked prop firm. The free email-download offer is another route to this collection, not a second course or a required purchase.

Choose this collection if you need to understand what a challenge actually buys before committing to one. A journal and readiness discussion connects the rule explanations with preparation, but no instructor-marked work, quiz entitlement or individual trade review is published. The optional download form asks for personal and marketing-contact details; public reading does not require submitting that form. Named analyst Marko Greguric’s experience is a provider claim, not a verified learner result.

A1’s own disclaimer describes commissions and referral benefits from featured firms. Its signals, EdgeFinder and broker or prop-firm offers are separate commercial products. We do not add them to required learning spend or use them as proof that the course improves passing. A lesson’s unsupported failure percentage and aggressive-evaluation advice are not a reliable deadline or risk budget. Current FTMO rules, for example, say there is no maximum completion time for its 2-Step Challenge.

AudaCity course for a five-module forex learning plan

Five named modules give AudaCity Trader University a clearer learning sequence than an undifferentiated webinar library. Institutional foundations lead into market mechanics, smart-money concepts, risk and scaling, then psychology and discipline. A free account is required for lessons. Public module descriptions, rather than attendance behind that account, support the five-skill comparison.

The useful connection is between a trading plan treated as a contract and the journaling and routine components. That can help a learner turn abstract rules into a repeatable study process. It does not establish graded assignments, a complete backtesting exercise or an instructor who will review your trades. University-specific teacher credentials, total study time and lesson count below the five modules are not published in the material checked.

Treat the University’s $480K scaling illustration as a lesson example, not today’s challenge ceiling. The official challenge page advertises a different ceiling, and evaluation, verification and funded drawdown limits are not interchangeable. Its 1% teaching example is not a universal risk prescription. Read the prohibited-practices page alongside the broad EA wording: copying someone else, third-party EAs and third-party management have restrictions that a public webinar does not waive.

Entry access and prerequisites: Free account and University terms required; public module descriptions checked, logged-in lessons not attended. Access source.

Syllabus and teaching scope: AudaCity Trader University. Prop-firm education or its named education partner. Public syllabus, lesson text or provider-written descriptions checked October 8, 2026; no enrolment, course completion, trading exercise or software test performed.

Tuition and required learning spend: $0 free list tuition and $0 mandatory account/setup spend to study the described course access. 5 confirmed skills; $0.00 per documented skill. No course-specific promotional price published. Price and access terms.

Expiry, renewal and cancellation: All five modules advertised free; no course-specific expiry or lifetime promise. Either party may terminate the University account under its terms. Generic paid-service wording does not prove this course charges tuition. Access or refund policy.

Practice, testing and feedback: Journaling and self-review named. Quizzes, marked assignments, a full backtesting exercise and individual review not published. Practice description.

Current rule transfer: Read the current product policy before relying on a lesson example. Evaluation and funded-account restrictions are separate; the teaching does not waive news, drawdown, time, consistency, copying or account-management conditions.

Brand-review watch-out: October 5, 2026 brand snapshot: rating unavailable due to a breach of Trustpilot’s guidelines; 287 reviews. No course-specific student-outcome conclusion follows from this brand rating state. These are brand reviews, not course pass-rate evidence. Brand review source.

FTMO Academy course for public lessons and self-directed testing

Public lessons make FTMO Academy particularly useful when you want to inspect the teaching before providing an email address or buying an evaluation. The selected Academy covers four parts and 53 listed lessons, including its evaluation process. Free registration adds progress tracking and exams; it is not a paid-challenge prerequisite for reading the lessons.

The plan, backtesting, forward-testing and overtrading lessons form a sensible bridge from reading to your own practice. These are self-directed activities, not a promise of marked trade logs or personal coaching. Funded-only performance coaching is a separate service and cannot be counted as preparation available to a new Academy reader. Course-wide authors, total study hours and a guaranteed access period remain unpublished.

The maximum-daily-loss lesson is specifically a 2-Step example. It says 5%, while the current 1-Step objectives use 3% and add their own overall-loss and Best Day conditions. Both can be correct for different products. Do not carry one lesson’s numbers onto another program or assume every platform is offered in your jurisdiction. Historical tests, even when favourable, do not establish that a strategy will survive unseen conditions or the chosen firm’s funded rules.

Entry access and prerequisites: Public reading without login; free registration for exams and progress. No challenge purchase required. Access source.

Syllabus and teaching scope: FTMO Academy. Prop-firm education or its named education partner. Public syllabus, lesson text or provider-written descriptions checked October 8, 2026; no enrolment, course completion, trading exercise or software test performed.

Tuition and required learning spend: $0 free list tuition and $0 mandatory account/setup spend to study the described course access. 5 confirmed skills; $0.00 per documented skill. No course-specific promotional price published. Price and access terms.

Expiry, renewal and cancellation: No advertised expiry or paid renewal; no tuition to refund. Continued hosting is not a lifetime-access guarantee.

Practice, testing and feedback: Registration-based exams and progress; self-directed plan, backtest and forward-test lessons. Optional Free Trial separate; no individual Academy review published. Practice description.

Current rule transfer: Read the current product policy before relying on a lesson example. Evaluation and funded-account restrictions are separate; the teaching does not waive news, drawdown, time, consistency, copying or account-management conditions.

Brand-review watch-out: October 6, 2026 brand snapshot: 4.8/5; 53,946 reviews. Reports include fast payouts and complaints about drawdown or post-pass risk limits. These are brand reviews, not course pass-rate evidence. Brand review source.

Trader FDAX course for a project plan and backtest demonstration

Trader FDAX frames the challenge as a project, with time, execution and risk decisions written down before entry.
