FTMO Alternatives, Measured Against FTMO’s Own Numbers

FTMO alternatives measured against FTMO’s own $50K numbers: E8 Markets and AudaCity Capital beat FTMO on the most checks, AquaFunded is the cheapest two-step with a $5,000 static floor, and no firm beats FTMO on all four.

E8 Markets (E8 Pro 10%, $49.80, daily payouts from day 1) and AudaCity Capital (Ability Challenge, $65.80, 1:100 on indices) beat FTMO on the most checks, 2.5 of 4. AquaFunded ($44.32), FundingPips ($49.83, $6,000 static floor), Alpha Capital Group ($53.40), Goat Funded Trader ($61.60) and FunderPro ($63.80) follow on 2 of 4. No firm beats FTMO on all four, only one beats its funded leverage, and Top One Trader, which writes its own FTMO-alternatives guide, beats it on none. 11 of the 18 firms have a hidden Trustpilot rating.

Quick picks among FTMO alternatives

  • Most FTMO numbers beaten: E8 Markets E8 Pro 10% ($49.80 per $1,000, payouts daily from day 1) and AudaCity Capital Ability Challenge ($65.80, 1:100 on indices), 2.5 of 4 each.
  • Cheapest two-step with FTMO’s $5,000 static floor: AquaFunded 2 Step Elite, $221.60, or $44.32 per $1,000 against FTMO 2-Step’s $77.45.
  • More fixed room than FTMO: FundingPips 2 Step Flex, $6,000 static (12%) for $299.
  • Closest copy of FTMO 2-Step for less: Alpha Capital Group Alpha Pro 10%, $267, two phases, $5,000 static, 5% daily limit, 1:100 FX.
  • Lowest cost per $1,000 overall: RebelsFunding RF Copper $40K, $33.75, with a 200% fee refund, if four phases do not put you off.

Each pick is a specific product, not a whole firm: a firm’s other products often score differently, and we name the stronger product in each firm’s section where one exists.

What FTMO is, and the four numbers every FTMO alternative has to beat

FTMO sells a paid evaluation, the FTMO Challenge, for forex, gold, index and other CFDs. Pass it and you get an FTMO Account that pays you a share of the profit you make. FTMO is plain about what that account is: “An FTMO Account is an account with fully fictitious funds”, and “Our clients therefore never actually perform any trades on live markets.” At $50K it sells two versions, and these are the figures every alternative in this guide is measured against.

The first Reward clock comes from FTMO’s withdrawal FAQ: you can request it “on the 14th or any following day after the first placed trade on the specific account”, FTMO reviews the account within 1 to 2 business days, and payment typically follows within 1 to 2 business days of invoice approval. Funded leverage comes from FTMO’s live symbol list (EURUSD 1:100, XAUUSD 1:50, US100.cash 1:50 on the Standard account); the Swing account cuts that to 1:30, 1:15 and 1:15 in exchange for allowing news and weekend holding. FTMO’s rules summary, payout profile, status page and drawdown explainer cover each rule in more depth.

Video: “FTMO Account VS FTMO Account Swing | FTMO,” FTMO official YouTube channel, April 7, 2022. Source type: firm-produced. Why it is here: FTMO’s own comparison of its Standard and Swing accounts, including leverage. It was published in 2022, before the 1-Step existed, so check today’s figures above.

How a funded account works at FTMO and at every alternative here: you pay a one-time fee, trade a simulated balance under fixed loss limits, and once you pass, the firm pays you a share of the simulated profit. You never deposit trading capital, and the fee is the most you can lose. That is why the price per $1,000 of loss room, the type of floor and the payout rules matter more than the account size on the banner.

Why traders look for FTMO alternatives, in FTMO’s own words

FTMO alternatives scorecard: FTMO beside an alternative on price per $1,000, fixed loss limit, funded leverage and first payout
The four FTMO numbers every alternative is scored against.

The roundups that rank for this search mostly say FTMO is strict or expensive without giving a figure. FTMO’s own pages, read October 4, 2026, show what a trader actually leaves behind:

  1. Price. €319 ($358.08) for the 1-Step and €345 ($387.26) for the 2-Step at $50K. Most firms in this guide sell $5,000 of room for less, and only two ranked products cost more per $1,000 than FTMO 1-Step.
  2. The 1-Step floor trails and resets. “The Maximum Loss rule establishes an end-of-day trailing limit”, and after each Reward the limit “fully resets, returning the first-day limit to 90% of the Initial Simulated Capital”. Buffer you built before a withdrawal does not carry into the next cycle.
  3. The 50% Best Day Rule on 1-Step Rewards. FTMO says the rule requires “that your Best Day does not represent more than 50% of your Positive Days’ Profit”. It is not a breach, but you keep trading until it is met before a Reward.
  4. Fourteen days to the first Reward. No FTMO product pays earlier than day 14 after the first trade.
  5. Post-pass controls. Terms clause 7.6.6 (last updated August 4, 2026) lets FTMO, after a finding of a forbidden practice or a risk-rule breach, “enforce the limitation on Risk per Trade Idea to the maximum limit we determine”, and 7.7 says FTMO is “not required to notify you before taking such action”. FTMO does not publish the cap’s value; reviewers report 1%, and dated 2026 Trustpilot reviews describe it being applied at payout.
  6. Gold and index leverage. 1:50 on the Standard account, and 1:15 if you choose Swing to hold over news and weekends.
  7. US residents go elsewhere. They are sent to FTMO US at ftmo.oanda.com, where the $50K 2-Step costs $399 against $387.26 on ftmo.com.

None of this makes FTMO a weak firm. It showed 4.8 out of 5 on 53,666 reviews (read October 2, 2026), the highest-rated firm with a visible score in this guide, and its rules are published in full. The question for a trader leaving it is which of these numbers another firm actually beats, and what it costs elsewhere on the account.

Hidden Trustpilot ratings
  1. One product per firm. We priced every $50K forex/CFD product each firm sells and ranked the one with the lowest cost per $1,000 of loss room whose floor does not trail the intraday peak including open profit. Where a firm has no $50K size, we used the nearest size and say so.
  2. Cost per $1,000 of loss room. (List price + published activation fee) / overall loss floor in dollars x 1,000, using the smallest floor at any stage, never the daily limit and never a discount-code price. Where a firm publishes no activation fee and does not say it charges nothing, we rank on the fee alone and mark the cell.
  3. Four checks against FTMO. Cheaper (under $71.62 is yes; $71.62 to $77.45 is partly). Fixed loss limit (static at every stage and larger than $5,000 is yes; static and exactly 10% is partly; smaller or trailing is no). Funded leverage (one class higher and none lower is yes; mixed is partly). First payout (earlier than day 14 with no extra condition is yes; earlier but with a condition FTMO 2-Step lacks is partly). Trading days are converted at 5 per 7 calendar days.
  4. Order. Yes scores 1 and partly 0.5. Firms rank by score, then by cost per $1,000, then by the larger floor. A firm scoring 0, or one with a funded-status refusal clause its own replies show being used, is shown separately, not ranked.
  5. Sources. Each firm’s own checkout, rules, help-centre and terms pages, read on the date shown. Never another roundup, and never the SERP authors’ own FTMO-alternative pages for a rule or a fee.

A live call-up, a hidden Trustpilot rating or a discount code never moves a firm up or down. We name call-ups and hidden ratings in each firm’s section so you can weigh them yourself.

Notes on this ranking: * The firm publishes no activation fee and does not say it charges nothing, so the figure is the evaluation fee alone. An unpublished fee above this amount would cost each firm its cheaper-than-FTMO point: BrightFunded $24.72; AudaCity Capital $29.10; Hola Prime $39.10; Goat Funded Trader $50.10; FundedNext $56.49; FundingPips $130.72; AquaFunded $136.50; RebelsFunding $151.48; Lux Trading Firm $167.02. † Converted from euros or pounds at the ECB rates for October 2, 2026. BrightFunded’s nearest neighbour in its scoring group is 4.3% away and Lux’s is 13.1% away, so only a currency move of that size would change either place. ‡ No $50K size: RebelsFunding is measured at $40K and Lux at $100K; the per-$1,000 figure is size-neutral. § The firm’s own pages disagree, and we used the stricter reading. The5ers: the $50K table says an 8% floor and the FAQ 10%; on 10% it would cost $49.80 and score 1.5, which would move it from 15th to 11th. Instant Funding: one sentence calls the floor static, while the Evolve pages describe end-of-day trailing; the static reading would not change its score. FundedNext and Funded Trading Plus: their leverage pages conflict, and neither reading beats FTMO on any class. E8 Markets’ floor is static but rises to the starting balance at the first payout; we graded that as partly. Graded as no, E8 would score 2.0 and rank 3rd.

E8 Markets lets an FTMO leaver request a payout on funded day one

E8 Pro is the only product in this set that pays on request from the first profitable funded day while matching FTMO’s $5,000 of static loss room at $50K. The firm’s E8 Pro article lists “No caps / No consistency rules / No minimum trading days / Payout frequency: You can request every day!”, with a minimum of 1% of the starting balance ($500 at $50K) per request. FTMO’s own FAQ makes a trader wait until “the 14th or any following day after the first placed trade on the specific account”.

Video: “E8 Pro 1-Step Challenge: The Complete Rule Breakdown,” E8 Markets official YouTube channel, June 1, 2026. Source type: firm-produced. Why it is here: E8’s own breakdown of the E8 Pro rules, the product ranked here.

The trade-off is everywhere else on the account. Funded leverage is 1:30 on FX and 1:15 on gold and indices, less than a third of FTMO’s FX figure. The daily drawdown is 2.5% of the starting balance ($1,250), tighter than FTMO 1-Step’s $1,500 and half of FTMO 2-Step’s $2,500. Only half of total profit is paid on each request, and the firm says the static level “never moves, except when a first payout is processed”: after your first payout the floor rises to the $50,000 starting balance and the retained half of your profit becomes the only buffer. FTMO 2-Step’s $45,000 floor never moves.

  • Product and price: E8 Pro, Classic Markets, 10% drawdown, $50K, one phase. $249 list, one-time, with no activation fee (“There is no activation fee or subscription fee.”). Code E8 takes the first order to $187, no end date shown.
  • Cost per $1,000: $49.80 per $1,000 of loss room ($249 list price / $5,000 floor x 1,000).
  • Loss floor: $5,000, static at both stages; rises to the $50,000 starting balance when the first payout is processed.
  • Funded leverage: 1:30 FX, 1:15 gold, 1:15 indices, the same at both stages.
  • First payout: From funded day one, every day, once closed profit reaches 1% ($500); each request releases 50% of total profit.
  • Daily loss limit: 2.5% of the starting balance ($1,250); breaching it ends the account.
  • Fee refund: None. Payments are “non-refundable unless unused”.
  • Against FTMO: cheaper per $1,000: beats FTMO; fixed loss limit: partly beats FTMO; funded leverage: does not beat FTMO; first payout: beats FTMO. Score 2.5 of 4.
  • Watch out for: the post-payout floor jump and the 1% per trade idea risk cap that two dated 2026 Trustpilot reviews say cut their payouts.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden behind Trustpilot’s “breach of our guidelines” banner, 3,297 reviews (read October 3, 2026). Full E8 Markets vs FTMO head-to-head.

AudaCity Capital beats FTMO’s index leverage on its live Ability account

AudaCity’s Ability Challenge is the only ranked product that beats FTMO on funded leverage: its own trading-guidelines table lists the Ability Live Account at 1:100 FX, 1:50 metals and 1:100 indices, so an index trader gets twice FTMO’s 1:50 on indices without giving anything up on FX or gold. It also prices two-step static room below FTMO: $329 for $5,000 of loss room at the Verification and Live stages, and $7,500 (15%) in Phase 1.

Video: “CONSISTENCY RULE EXPLAINED,” AudaCity Capital official YouTube channel, May 14, 2026. Source type: firm-produced. Why it is here: AudaCity’s own explainer of its Consistency Score, which its FTMO-alternatives page says the firm does not have; the score is applied across the Ability program.

It does not beat FTMO on speed. Payouts “run on a bi-weekly cycle, with your first available 14 days after your first live trade”, the same day 14 as FTMO, and each request goes through a Risk team review. The fee comes back “alongside the first payout, provided the payout amount exceeds the fees”. The daily limit is tested on equity against a level reset at rollover from the higher of balance or equity, and every program carries a 3-minute high-impact news window.

  • Product and price: Ability Challenge (2 steps), $50K. $329 list, one-time. The firm publishes no activation fee and no statement that it is $0, so the cost is ranked on the fee alone. An automatic 14% discount shows $283, no end date shown.
  • Cost per $1,000: $65.80 per $1,000 of loss room ($329 list price / $5,000 floor x 1,000), ranked on the fee alone.
  • Loss floor: $5,000 static (10%) at Verification and on the Live account; $7,500 (15%) in Phase 1.
  • Funded leverage: 1:100 FX, 1:50 metals, 1:100 indices on the Ability Live Account.
  • First payout: Day 14 after the first live trade, then every 14 days, after a Risk team review.
  • Daily loss limit: 7.5% in Phase 1; 5% ($2,500) at Verification and Live, tested on equity; a breach closes the account.
  • Fee refund: Yes, with the first live payout if that payout is larger than the fee.
  • Against FTMO: cheaper per $1,000: beats FTMO; fixed loss limit: partly beats FTMO; funded leverage: beats FTMO; first payout: does not beat FTMO. Score 2.5 of 4.
  • Watch out for: T&C wording that AudaCity “reserves the absolute right to withdraw any trader from the programs, at any time and without giving any explanation”, with the joining fee not refunded in that case.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden behind Trustpilot’s “breach of our guidelines” banner, 287 reviews (read October 4, 2026).

AquaFunded sells FTMO 2-Step’s static room for the lowest price in this set

At $221.60 for $5,000 of static loss room, AquaFunded’s 2 Step Elite costs $44.32 per $1,000, the lowest figure for a $50K two-step with a fixed floor among the firms ranked here, against FTMO 2-Step’s $77.45 for the same room. The firm’s article says the static limit “applies during evaluation and funded”.

Video: “Risk Management Rules That Separate Funded Traders From Blown Accounts,” AquaFunded official YouTube channel, July 4, 2026. Source type: firm-produced. Why it is here: AquaFunded’s own risk-rules video; the firm has no official video on the Elite product or its funded leverage.

Once funded, the account changes more than FTMO’s does. Funded leverage is half the evaluation figure (1:50 FX, 1:10 commodities, 1:10 indices), every class below FTMO. A funded Wave Stop closes all trades at a 2% combined open loss ($1,000), cuts the split to 50% the first time and breaches the account the second time. The first payout comes “14 days after placing their first trade on the funded account” unless you buy the 7-day add-on at 15% of the fee ($33.24), and every payout carries a 3% processing fee. Its 1 Step Flex ($279.20 for a $6,000 static floor, $46.53 per $1,000) scores 2.5 on the four checks, half a point more, but costs more per $1,000, so the Elite is ranked.

  • Product and price: 2 Step Elite, $50K, MT5. $221.60 list, one-time. No activation fee line at checkout and no statement that it is $0, so it is ranked on the fee alone. Code AUTUMN shows 25% off, advertised as a limited deal with no end date.
  • Cost per $1,000: $44.32 per $1,000 of loss room ($221.60 list price / $5,000 floor x 1,000), ranked on the fee alone.
  • Loss floor: $5,000 static (10%) at both evaluation steps and on the funded account.
  • Funded leverage: 1:50 FX, 1:10 commodities (no separate gold figure), 1:10 indices once funded.
  • First payout: Day 14 after the first funded trade; day 7 with the paid add-on (15% of the fee), plus 3 days of at least 0.5% profit.
  • Daily loss limit: 4% of the higher of balance or equity at 00:00 UTC ($2,000); a breach closes the account.
  • Fee refund: Yes, with the fourth payout.
  • Against FTMO: cheaper per $1,000: beats FTMO; fixed loss limit: partly beats FTMO; funded leverage: does not beat FTMO; first payout: partly beats FTMO. Score 2 of 4.
  • Watch out for: the funded Wave Stop at a 2% combined open loss, far inside the $5,000 floor.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden behind Trustpilot’s “breach of our guidelines” banner, 1,194 reviews (read October 4, 2026).

FundingPips gives $1,000 more static room than FTMO for less money

The help article calls it “a static floor; it never moves”, across both phases and the funded Master account, and the $299 checkout price works out at $49.83 per $1,000 of room.
