TL;DR: 28 BestProps-listed firms currently publish a complete restriction affecting traders in Syria. The list spans futures, forex and CFD, and crypto programs and uses first-party firm policies checked on August 8, 2026. Recent U.S. and EU sanctions relief is explained separately because many private country policies have not changed with it.
This is a restricted-firm list. Firms that currently accept Syria residents are not included. Product-only limits and live-account-only limits are not counted as complete bans.

Why prop firms restrict Syria traders
Syria is a good example of why an old sanctions label is not enough. The United States ended the broad Syria sanctions program effective July 1, 2025, and the European Union lifted its economic sanctions in May 2025. Targeted measures remain against specified people and entities, including measures related to the former Assad regime and security risks.
Private firms can still keep a complete Syria restriction for their own risk, broker, market-data, KYC, payment, or payout reasons. BestProps therefore uses the firm’s current eligibility page as the inclusion test rather than assuming that government sanctions relief automatically changed every provider’s policy.
Syria sanctions changes and day trading context
The current legal position is materially different from the one many older comparison pages describe. OFAC says the former broad Syria sanctions program is no longer in effect, while targeted sanctions remain under other authorities. The EU renewed targeted measures linked to the former Assad regime through June 1, 2027 after lifting broad economic sanctions in 2025.
Those changes may improve some banking and commercial routes, but they do not guarantee that an overseas evaluation firm, card processor, KYC vendor, or payout provider supports Syria. A company may retain a conservative country block even when a transaction is not categorically prohibited by law.
Syria also has a domestic securities market. The Damascus Securities Exchange resumed trading in June 2025 after a six-month closure, but access to a local listed security is distinct from an offshore prop evaluation. A local exchange trade uses the domestic market and its approved intermediaries, while most prop programs measure performance in a simulated account under a private contract.
Before paying, a Syria resident should confirm whether the restriction uses citizenship, residence, or physical location and whether the payout vendor supports the same identity and bank documents. That check matters more than whether the public website is reachable.

What Syria traders should check before checkout
- Confirm that both citizenship and residence are eligible.
- Check the evaluation, simulated funded, live-funded, and payout rules separately.
- Use your real address and identity documents. A VPN does not change KYC eligibility.
- Confirm the payout provider supports your country and expected currency.
- Save a dated copy of the policy and checkout terms before paying.
- Confirm local foreign-exchange, tax, securities, and crypto rules with a qualified professional.
Syria prop firm restrictions FAQ
How many prop firms restrict traders from Syria?
BestProps verified 28 current firms with a complete restriction affecting at least one market covered on this page.
Does a restricted country always block the evaluation purchase?
Most policies on this page block new accounts or platform access. Some firms also consider citizenship, travel location, payout access, or the live-account stage, so the official policy remains the final source.
Are partial country limits included in the main list?
No. A firm that still allows an evaluation, simulated funded account, or payouts is not counted as completely restricted merely because its live-account path or one platform is unavailable.
Can a VPN make a restricted trader eligible?
No. Firms verify identity, residence, payment details, and login patterns. Concealing location can lead to account closure, payout denial, or loss of fees.
Are prop firm payouts treated like local brokerage gains?
Not necessarily. Evaluation payouts may be contractual or business income rather than gains from securities held in a brokerage account. Ask a local tax professional and keep complete records.
When did BestProps check these country policies?
The official sources on this page were checked on August 8, 2026. Recheck them immediately before purchase because firms and service providers can change eligibility lists.
