At 05:10 UTC on August 4, 2026, Topstep’s official status page still showed an investigating incident titled Billing Discrepancies on Mastercard Transactions. New Dashboard displayed degraded performance, while Legacy Dashboard and TopstepX displayed operational.

Topstep’s August 2 updates said the issue involved unsettled Mastercard purchases made since June 22, 2026 and a payment-processing partner’s later retry of those transactions. Topstep clarified that Revolut was one affected card issuer, not the root cause, and said the expected final state was one settled charge per purchase. Those are Topstep’s statements about an active incident, not findings independently established by BestProps.

Topstep Steps for Affected Mastercard Users

Review prior purchasesCompare Topstep receipts with removed, reversed, replacement, or completed entries from purchases made since June 22.
Allow settlement timeTopstep’s latest notice says to allow the bank time to finish processing before treating a replacement entry as a duplicate charge.
Escalate unresolved duplicatesIf two settled charges remain for the same purchase, send purchase details and screenshots to Topstep Trader Support.

Do not treat an investigating status as a final resolution. Keep copies of statement entries, purchase receipts, and support messages. Recheck the incident page before assuming the billing state is final.

The source label matters. An official Topstep status record establishes what Topstep published at a specific time. Press coverage summarizes reporting that BestProps did not independently reproduce. Public trader discussion is discovery evidence, not proof of what happened to an account.

Topstep Platform Troubleshooting

For a trading-platform problem, Topstep’s troubleshooting page says to stop trading first. It recommends checking the official status page and, if the issue continues, contacting Trader Support with order IDs, affected account numbers, the date and time, and screenshots or a recording.

Topstep’s troubleshooting page also lists account-specific causes of rejected orders, including a breached loss limit, trading outside permitted hours, position-size limits, an inactive subscription, holiday hours, and exchange velocity logic. A rejected order is not by itself proof of a platform outage.

What BestProps Has Not Confirmed

  • BestProps has not bought or traded a Topstep account, tested its support response, reproduced the Mastercard payment-processing behavior, or reviewed an affected statement.
  • BestProps has not established the cause or final resolution of the active incident.
  • BestProps has not confirmed individual compensation, reset, loss, payout, or billing outcomes mentioned in public discussion.
  • Historical press and Reddit rows remain clearly labeled and are not converted into official incident records.
