We checked 22 prop firm listings for Ugandan traders on October 4, 2026 and ranked the 16 products a Ugandan resident can buy by cost per $1,000 of loss room at $50K: list price plus any activation fee, divided by the overall loss limit in dollars. AquaFunded 2 Step Elite is cheapest at $44.32 on the fee alone ($221.60, $5,000 static floor), then Topstep at $47.50 for one month, Instant Funding IF Evolve at $49.50, E8 Markets E8 Pro 10% at $49.80 and FundingPips 2 Step Flex at $49.83. Only Alpha Capital Group and FundedNext Futures name Uganda outright. Apex, Tradeify’s futures accounts, My Funded Futures, Take Profit Trader, Lucid Trading and FXIFY Futures name Uganda as restricted, and FundedNext, FundedNext Futures, Goat Funded Trader and FundingPips leave Uganda out of their bank payouts. No firm names MTN MoMo or Airtel Money as a payout route. Shilling figures use the Bank of Uganda rate of USh 3,971.90 per dollar for October 2, 2026.

Quick answer and the top five prop firms for traders in Uganda

Sixteen of the 22 prop firm listings we checked sell at least one product a Ugandan resident can buy on their published terms, and six name Uganda as restricted. Ranked on what you pay for each $1,000 the account can lose, these five come first:

  1. AquaFunded 2 Step Elite: $44.32 per $1,000 (USh 176,000). List price $221.60 (USh 880,200); overall floor $5,000, static.
  2. Topstep Trading Combine, no activation fee: $47.50 per $1,000 (USh 188,700). List price $95 a month (USh 377,300); overall floor $2,000, end-of-day trailing.
  3. Instant Funding IF Evolve: $49.50 per $1,000 (USh 196,600). List price $99 (USh 393,200); overall floor $2,000, end-of-day trailing.
  4. E8 Markets E8 Pro 10%: $49.80 per $1,000 (USh 197,800). List price $249 (USh 989,000); overall floor $5,000, static.
  5. FundingPips 2 Step Flex: $49.83 per $1,000 (USh 197,900). List price $299 (USh 1,187,600); overall floor $6,000, static.

The top five sit within $5.51 of each other, so the catches matter more than the order. AquaFunded and FundingPips do not say whether an activation fee applies, Topstep bills monthly, Instant Funding closes every trade each evening, and E8 Markets lets you withdraw half your profit per request. For a firm that names Uganda in writing, Alpha Capital Group is sixth at $53.40.

What prop firms are and why traders in Uganda use them

A proprietary trading firm, or prop firm, sells you an evaluation: a practice account with a profit target and loss limits. Pass it and the firm gives you a funded account and pays you a share of the profit you make on it, typically 80% to 95% at the firms in this guide. Almost every firm here says the funded account is simulated, so the money you receive comes from the firm under its rules, not from trades placed in the market with your name on them.

The appeal for a Ugandan trader is the size of the account against the size of the cheque. A $50,000 account at Instant Funding costs $99, about USh 393,200, while trading a $50,000 account of your own would mean putting up the whole balance. The trade-off is that the fee is spent if you break a rule, and the rules are strict: an overall loss limit, usually a daily loss limit, and sometimes limits on news trading, weekend holds or open losses.

A prop firm is not a broker. A broker holds your own deposit and executes your orders; you keep all gains and carry all losses. A prop firm charges a fee, caps your loss at that fee, and keeps a share of the profit. Stock brokers and dealers in Uganda appear on the Capital Markets Authority’s licensed list; prop firms sell evaluations from abroad, priced in dollars or euros, and none in this guide prices in shillings.

How the prop firm funding process works for traders in Uganda

Most products follow the same steps. You pay a one-time fee (Topstep bills monthly), trade the evaluation until you hit the profit target without touching a loss limit, pass a KYC check with your ID and sometimes proof of address, sign the funded agreement, then trade the funded account and request payouts on the firm’s schedule. Two-step products add a second, easier target; one-step products have a single phase; instant products skip the evaluation and cost more.

A worked example shows why the loss limit matters as much as the price. AquaFunded’s 2 Step Elite costs $221.60, about USh 880,200, and lets the account fall $5,000 before it ends. Instant Funding’s IF Evolve costs $99 but ends at a $2,000 fall. Per $1,000 of room, AquaFunded costs $44.32 and Instant Funding $49.50, so the dearer account is the cheaper one if you need room to recover from a bad week.

Payouts come with deductions. At For Traders, a $1,000 profit at its 80% split is $800, and a Rise payout of $400 or more costs $50, leaving $750, about USh 2,978,900 at the October 2 rate before your bank’s own conversion. At The5ers every cash route costs 3.5%; at Goat Funded Trader and AquaFunded, 3%.

Profit split models vary more than the headline suggests. Topstep, FTMO’s 1-Step and AquaFunded start at 90%; FundedNext Futures Flex pays 95%; most others start at 80% and sell a higher split as a paid add-on. E8 Pro lets you withdraw only half of your profit per request, and Instant Funding Evolve caps each payout at half the profit and $2,000, so the split alone does not tell you what reaches your account.

Can traders in Uganda use prop firms

Yes, more of them than many guides suggest. Sixteen listings sell to Ugandan residents on their published terms, including firms that refuse Kenya. Only two name Uganda as a place they serve: Alpha Capital Group lists it in its country guide and checkout, and FundedNext Futures lists it as able to buy, trade and earn simulated rewards. The other fourteen publish a list of countries they will not serve and leave Uganda off it.

Three firms present their lists as complete, so leaving Uganda off is close to a yes: BrightFunded, Tradeify 247 and FTMO. Instant Funding’s terms define its restricted jurisdictions as the countries in its AML Policy, which has the same effect. The rest use wording such as “include” or “including but not limited to,” which leaves room to refuse anyone, and the test differs from firm to firm: residence, citizenship, the country on your ID document, or where you log in from.

Neighbouring countries fare worse. South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are both on the lists of Instant Funding, Alpha Capital Group, The5ers, FXIFY and Tradeify 247, Burundi is on four of those five, and FTMO lists South Sudan and Burundi. A South Sudanese or Congolese citizen living in Uganda should read each firm’s test: Tradeify 247 goes by residence, while Topstep and Alpha Capital Group check citizenship as well.

Why Uganda is not Kenya for prop firm eligibility

Several roundups treat East Africa as one market. Firm rules do not. Tradeify’s futures accounts are the clearest case: its 58-country list names Uganda and leaves Kenya off. Four other futures listings, My Funded Futures, Take Profit Trader, Lucid Trading and FXIFY Futures, name both countries, as does Apex. The difference also runs the other way, and it shows up in payouts as well as in sign-up rules.

So a Kenyan guide is a poor stand-in for a Ugandan one. Topstep, AquaFunded and FXIFY’s forex line refuse Kenya and leave Uganda off their lists, while Goat Funded Trader offers Kenyans a bank transfer it does not offer Ugandans, and FundedNext’s bank transfer exclusion names Uganda but not Kenya.

Bank of Uganda, CMA Uganda and prop firms

No Ugandan regulator licenses prop firm evaluations, and no firm in this guide claims a Ugandan licence. The Capital Markets Authority regulates Uganda’s capital markets and keeps a list of licensed and approved persons. Its page says “Section 50(1) of the Capital Markets Authority Act Cap. 64 prohibits a person from carrying out activities under the Act unless the person is approved by the Authority. The Authority urges the public to only deal with licensed and approved persons.” None of the firms in this guide appears on that list as at June 26, 2026, so do not expect CMA’s investor protections to cover your fee.

The Bank of Uganda licenses payment system providers and publishes the exchange rate used for every shilling figure here. On digital assets it says it “recognizes the growing role of virtual/digital assets but remains cautious, viewing them as having both innovation potential and risks that could affect financial stability if not properly regulated”. That matters because several firms here pay Ugandans only in crypto. Read CMA’s licensed and approved persons list before you hand money to anyone who offers to trade for you, and for which firms block Uganda outright see our Uganda restricted country page.

How prop firm payouts reach traders in Uganda

Can I join from Uganda? A checklist card for prop firms in Uganda with three rows: restricted list, funded stage and payout route
Can I join from Uganda? Three checks before you pay: the restricted list, the funded stage and the payout route.

No firm pays in shillings. Payouts leave in US dollars, euros or crypto, and the conversion happens at your bank, the payout provider or a crypto exchange, at their rate. The payout route is where Uganda most often falls short: FundedNext, FundedNext Futures, Goat Funded Trader and FundingPips all offer bank transfers in other countries but not in Uganda.

Two firms go further for Uganda than the rest. E8 Markets pays through WorkMarket, whose Hyperwallet list includes Uganda for wire transfers in dollars, euros, pounds or Australian dollars. Topstep sends an international wire for $30. Rise is the most common route, used by 13 of the 16 ranked firms; Rise does not list Uganda among the countries it cannot serve, but its local-currency withdrawal list has no Ugandan shilling option, so expect dollars.

Mobile money is everywhere in Uganda, yet no firm in this guide names MTN MoMo or Airtel Money as a payout route for Uganda. FundedNext and FundedNext Futures name Airtel Money for Kenyan buyers paying their fee, and that is the closest any firm comes.

  2. Treat forex, futures and crypto arms of one brand as separate listings.
  3. Price every $50K variant at list price and add any activation fee; codes go in the firm notes only.
  4. Divide by the smallest overall loss limit in dollars at any stage, never a daily limit, and multiply by 1,000.
  5. Skip any product whose floor trails open profit, then rank each firm on its cheapest remaining product.
  6. Note the payout routes that reach Uganda, the currency they pay in, the live stage terms and Trustpilot.

A simulated funded account is how almost every firm here works, for every country, so it is a fact we state for each firm rather than a reason to drop one. Only a rule that names Uganda moves a firm out of the ranking. Where a firm does not publish an activation fee we rank on the fee alone and mark it, and where a firm’s own pages disagree on a loss limit we use the tighter figure and mark it.

Prop firms in Uganda ranked by cost per $1,000 of loss room

Lower is better. The figure tells you what you pay for each $1,000 the account is allowed to lose, which is the comparison that matters if you expect to buy more than once.

Notes on this ranking: Cost per $1,000 is the list price of the firm’s cheapest $50,000 product that a Ugandan resident can buy and that has no trailing floor measured on open profit, plus any activation fee, divided by the smallest overall loss limit in dollars at any stage, times 1,000. Daily loss limits, per-symbol rules and per-position rules are not used. Euro prices convert at the European Central Bank reference rate of October 2, 2026 (EUR/USD 1.1225). Shilling figures use the Bank of Uganda sell rate for October 2, 2026 (1 USD = USh 3,971.90), rounded to the nearest USh 100; your bank or card rate will differ, and no firm here charges or pays in shillings. Ties share a rank. a AquaFunded shows no activation step and calls the fee “One-time fee • 100% refundable,” but it never states a $0 activation fee in words, so the figure is the evaluation fee alone. Every $10 of fee it might add raises the figure by $2.00, and a fee above about $16 would drop it below Topstep. Its 2 Step Pro is cheaper on paper ($28.64) but its floor trails open profit, so it is not ranked. b Topstep bills $95 every 30 days until you pass or cancel; the figure is one month. Two months would make it $95.00, between FundedNext Futures and Tradeify 247. Its Standard path costs $49 a month plus a $149 activation fee: $99.00. c FundingPips names no activation fee for 2 Step Flex and does not say there is none, so the figure is the fee alone; every $10 added raises it by about $1.67, and a fee above about $21 would drop it below Alpha Capital Group. It sits just $0.03 above E8 Markets. d FundedNext does not name an activation fee for Stellar Lite either way. Every $10 raises the figure by $2.50, and a fee above about $16 would drop it below Goat Funded Trader. The price is for MT5; cTrader or Match-Trader adds $25 ($63.75). e Goat Funded Trader’s checkout total equals the evaluation fee and no activation step is published, but the firm does not state a $0 activation fee in words. A fee above about $3.25 would drop it below The5ers. f The5ers’ High Stakes size table shows an 8% overall loss ($4,000) at $50K while its FAQ says 10% ($5,000). We rank on the tighter table figure; on the FAQ figure it would be $49.80, level with E8 Markets. The no-conflict alternative is its Pro Growth 1-Step at $329 for a $3,000 static floor, $109.67. g BrightFunded prices in euros: €297 x 1.1225 = $333.38, so $333.38 / $5,000 x 1,000 = $66.68. For Traders is 2.9% dearer, so a euro rise of that size would swap them. h FTMO prices in euros: €319 x 1.1225 = $358.08. A fall in the euro of 4.2% would move it above For Traders, and a rise of 5.8% would put it behind FXIFY. Its 1-Step floor trails the end-of-day balance and the fee is never refunded; the 2-Step Challenge (€345, about $387.26, static floor, fee refunded with the first reward) works out at $77.45.

Trading platforms and markets at prop firms open to Uganda

Platform choice is set by the firm, not by Uganda. MT5 is offered by 12 of the 13 forex firms ranked here, and Funded Trading Plus shows it depending on your location; cTrader by 11, sometimes for an extra $10 to $25; Match-Trader by seven; TradeLocker by five; DXtrade by three. TradingView is available at FTMO, The5ers and FXIFY. Topstep trades only on its own TopstepX, and FundedNext Futures sets traders up on Tradovate in its own setup video. Tradeify 247 runs DXtrade and MT5.

Markets follow the arm you buy. The forex and CFD firms offer currency pairs and CFDs on other markets such as indices and metals, which vary by plan, and E8 Markets’ country list covers both its classic markets and its perpetuals; Topstep and FundedNext Futures trade futures contracts; Tradeify 247 and For Traders’ crypto tab trade crypto pairs. Check the instrument list of the product you plan to buy, since it can differ by plan and by platform.
