Lucid Trading vs FundedNext Futures Comparison

Lucid Trading and FundedNext Futures both sell one-time-fee futures accounts with end-of-day drawdowns, no activation fee, a daily-payout plan and a straight-to-funded option. They differ most in how much a funded account can pay: FundedNext caps each request lower and closes every current funded account after five rewards, while Lucid’s per-request caps are higher at the same size. FundedNext is cheaper to enter on its Flex and Direct plans, pays 95% on Flex and keeps end-of-day drawdown on its daily-payout plan; Lucid offers more platforms and account sizes and keeps 90/10 in live.

Advanced checks before paying
  • Work out the most a funded account can pay you before it closes. At 50K, five maximum FundedNext rewards add up to $6,000 to $7,500 gross; five maximum Lucid payouts add up to $10,000 to $12,000.
  • Check which purchase number you are on at FundedNext. Its coded prices are lower on the first purchase (Rapid) or the first two (Flex) and rise afterwards.
  • On FundedNext Direct, remember that your best day ever sets the bar for every later payout cycle (the “perpetual” 20% rule).
  • Check your platform. FundedNext supports Tradovate, NinjaTrader and TradingView only; Lucid adds Rithmic platforms such as Sierra Chart, Bookmap, ATAS, Jigsaw and Quantower.
  • Confirm your country. FundedNext sells in many countries Lucid restricts but flags 81 countries and regions for a separate review when a trader reaches live.

Short answer:Lucid Trading vs FundedNext Futures is a close match on structure: both charge a one-time fee with no activation or monthly fee, use end-of-day trailing drawdowns, offer a one-day-pass plan, a daily-payout plan and a straight-to-funded account, and allow news trading on most plans. FundedNext Futures is cheaper to start (Flex from $74.99 at 50K, Direct $169.99), pays 95% on Flex and 90% elsewhere, keeps end-of-day drawdown on its daily-payout Rapid Daily plan and accepts PayPal and crypto. Lucid Trading pays 90/10 on every plan but allows larger payout requests (up to $2,500 per request at 50K against FundedNext’s $1,200 to $1,500), lets LucidDaily withdraw all profit above the buffer with no per-request cap, offers every plan from 25K to 150K and supports 12 platforms against FundedNext’s 3. Every current FundedNext funded account closes after five rewards, and its live review needs 15 rewards across your profile; Lucid reviews for live after payout 5. FundedNext holds 4.5 on Trustpilot from 81,572 reviews (one profile for its CFD and futures brands) and Lucid 4.4 from 6,880. Neither firm is better for everyone.

This page compares Lucid Trading and FundedNext Futures plan by plan. Every number below comes from the firms’ own websites and help centres, read on October 13, 2026, and each section links to its source. Where a firm’s own pages disagree, we say so.

Checked October 13, 2026: lucidtrading.com, support.lucidtrading.com, fundednext.com/futures and helpfutures.fundednext.com. Prices with codes are calculated from the published list price and each firm’s own published code; they were not verified by purchase.

Both firms run simulated evaluation and funded accounts. FundedNext calls its evaluation a “Challenge”, its funded stage a “FundedNext Account” and its payouts “Performance Rewards”; its footer states that trading on the platform uses virtual funds in a simulated environment. Payouts at both firms are paid from simulated profits under each firm’s rules, and only a small share of traders reach accounts that trade real capital. Plan lineups and how they pair up

The two firms sell four current products each, and they pair up more neatly than most comparisons. This is how the plans line up.

If you are looking at…Lucid planClosest FundedNext Futures planMain difference
A one-day pass with a 40% rule only once fundedLucidProRapid ProThe closest match: same 50K target ($3,000), drawdown ($2,000 EOD), contract limit (4 minis) and funded 40% rule, and both let you pick an optional daily loss limit. LucidPro is cheaper at 50K ($115.40 against $159.99) and pays up to $2,000 then $2,500 per request against $1,200. Rapid Pro has a $250 minimum request against $500.
A low target with a consistency rule in the evaluation onlyLucidFlexFlexFundedNext Flex has a lower 50K target ($2,500 against $3,000), a 95% split and a lower price ($74.99 against $90.20), but a smaller drawdown ($1,500 against $2,000) and a stricter 40% evaluation rule against Lucid’s 50%. Both pay up to 50% of profit per request; the cap is $1,500 at FundedNext and $2,000 at Lucid on 50K.
Daily payoutsLucidDailyRapid DailyRapid Daily keeps end-of-day drawdown and has no consistency rule at any stage, but its $1,000 daily loss limit is mandatory and each request is capped at $1,200 (50K). LucidDaily’s funded drawdown trails intraday and its evaluation has a 50% rule, but it pays all profit above the buffer with no per-request cap.
Skip the evaluationLucidDirectDirectFundedNext Direct costs less ($169.99 against $360.50 at 50K) and has no profit goal, only a $2,100 buffer. Its 20% rule is “perpetual”: your best day ever must stay at 20% or less of every later cycle’s profit. LucidDirect resets its 20% rule after each payout, needs a $3,000 then $2,500 profit goal at 50K and pays up to $2,000 to $2,500 per request against $1,200.

Lucid also has legacy products (LucidBlack and older Live and LucidMaxx structures) and an invite-only LucidMaxx programme. FundedNext’s Legacy challenge still has rules articles in its help centre but is no longer on its product pages or in its price list, and its original Rapid and Bolt accounts stopped being sold on July 10, 2026. None of the legacy plans is part of this comparison. For every Lucid plan side by side, see Lucid Trading accounts compared.

What an attempt really costs at 50K

Neither firm rebills monthly, so the real cost is the entry price plus any resets. FundedNext is cheaper on Flex; Lucid is cheaper on the one-day-pass plan, and the gap widens with every reset because a Rapid reset costs more than a coded first purchase.

Resets

  • Lucid resets are evaluation-only and restore the starting balance. List prices: LucidPro $75 / $120 / $190 / $255, LucidFlex $55 / $95 / $180 / $260, LucidDaily EOD $65 / $95 / $155 / $220 and intraday $55 / $75 / $125 / $180 (25K / 50K / 100K / 150K). The VAULT code does not reduce resets; the daily-loss-limit discount does, so the 50K LucidPro reset is $115 and the 50K LucidFlex reset $90. Funded accounts and LucidDirect cannot be reset.
  • FundedNext resets are also challenge-only and can be bought at any time, even before a breach, without limit up to the $750,000 challenge allocation. Prices: Flex $82.99 / $157.99 / $284.99 (50K / 100K / 150K), Rapid Pro $84.99 / $174.99 / $299.99 and with the add-on $64.99 / $134.99 / $249.99, Rapid Daily $89.99 / $189.99 / $299.99 (25K / 50K / 100K). A Rapid reset costs more than a first purchase with the RAPID code. Direct accounts and FundedNext Accounts cannot be reset.
  • After a reset at FundedNext the account gets a new name, so any trade copier or journal linked to the old one has to be reconnected.

Profit targets, minimum days and time to get funded

At 50K both firms’ one-day-pass and daily-payout plans share a $3,000 target, and FundedNext Flex is lower at $2,500. At other sizes Lucid’s targets are $1,250 / $6,000 / $9,000 (25K / 100K / 150K). FundedNext’s Rapid targets are $1,500 / $5,000 (25K / 100K) and its Flex targets $5,000 / $8,000 (100K / 150K). Neither firm has a time limit to pass.

FundedNext validates a pass at the end of the trading day, then shows an agreement on the dashboard; once you sign it, the FundedNext Account is issued, and KYC is only needed before the first reward. If you already hold 5 active FundedNext Accounts or have been issued 10 that month, the new one waits as pending. Lucid upgrades to a funded account 5–30 minutes after the target is hit, with KYC handled at payout when the payout provider requires it.

The Flex consistency maths. FundedNext Flex 50K caps any single day at 40% of the $2,500 target, which is $1,000. A $1,500 day raises the pass requirement to $1,500 ÷ 0.40 = $3,750. LucidFlex applies a 50% rule instead, so a single day can carry about half of its $3,000 target.

Drawdown rules: EOD, intraday and when they lock

Both firms trail the maximum loss limit on end-of-day balances on most plans and stop trailing once you build a cushion. FundedNext uses end-of-day drawdown on every current plan. Lucid’s LucidDaily is the exception on either side: its funded stage trails intraday.

PlanEvaluation drawdownFunded drawdownWhere it stops trailing
LucidPro / LucidFlexEODEOD $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,500 (25K–150K)Starting balance + $100 once the balance closes above the initial trail balance (e.g. $50,100 after $52,100 on 50K). On Flex it also locks there as soon as you request a payout.
LucidDailyEOD or intraday (chosen at checkout)Intraday $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 / $4,500 (25K–150K)Starting balance + $100 after the trail balance is passed

FundedNext DirectNo evaluationEOD $2,000 (50K)$50,100; the first withdrawal also locks it there

Breach checks are live at both. FundedNext updates its limit at 5:00 PM CT but says a floating loss that touches it during a trade breaches the account instantly. Size stops to the live distance from the limit, not to yesterday’s balance.

Smaller drawdowns at FundedNext on two plans. FundedNext Flex gives $1,500 at 50K against LucidFlex’s $2,000, and FundedNext Rapid gives $2,500 at 100K against $3,000 on LucidPro. On a $1,500 limit, a 3-mini NQ position (the Flex 50K maximum, $60 per point) has 25 points of room before the floor.

For more firms compared on this point, see our EOD drawdown prop firm list.

Daily loss limits

  • Lucid: every daily loss limit is a soft breach. On LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDaily you choose at checkout whether to have one ($1,200 / $1,800 / $2,700 at 50K / 100K / 150K); the choice cannot be changed later and turning it off costs extra. On LucidPro and LucidDirect, once the funded balance closes above the initial trail balance the fixed limit becomes LucidScale: 60% of your highest end-of-day profit, which never decreases.
  • FundedNext: also a soft breach that pauses trading until the next day. Rapid Daily ($500 / $1,000 / $1,250) and Direct ($1,000) always have one; Rapid Pro has one only if you choose the add-on at purchase, which lowers the price ($20 / $40 / $50) and cannot be removed later; Flex has none. The limit counts closed and floating losses plus commissions and fees, and its level trails up with each day’s closing balance.

Consistency rules and minimum trading days

Both firms divide your best day by your total profit. Missing the ratio never fails the account; you keep trading until it falls back into range. The difference is what counts as your “best day”.

PlanEvaluationFunded (per payout cycle)What it is measured againstOther payout-day rule (50K)

Worked example, straight-to-funded 50K. Both Direct accounts use a 20% rule, and both allow a day of exactly 20%. Suppose your first cycle’s best day is $1,000. LucidDirect needs $5,000 of cycle profit for that day to sit at 20%, and after the payout the count starts again: a second cycle with a $500 best day needs only $2,500 (and the $2,500 profit goal). FundedNext Direct also needs $5,000 in the first cycle, but its $1,000 best day carries forward, so every later cycle needs at least $5,000 of profit until you beat it, even though each withdrawal is capped at $1,200. One big day early on can make every later FundedNext Direct payout harder.

Worked example, 40% funded rule. LucidPro 50K and FundedNext Rapid Pro 50K both need a $1,200 best day to sit inside a $3,000 cycle, and both accept exactly 40%. FundedNext adds that the rule takes at least 3 days; Lucid adds the $500 profit goal and the $52,100 buffer. Our Lucid consistency rule guide works through every Lucid plan.

FundedNext lets you request a reward only at the end of a day on which you have not opened a new trade; trading that day removes the transfer option until the next eligible day. Lucid lets you request any day once the gates are met, but a trade that drops you back below the buffer or goal before approval can get the request denied.

Worked payout examples at 50K

These examples assume every day-count, profit-goal and consistency rule is already met for the cycle and the balance started at $50,000.

Plan (50K)Profit $3,000: requestYou receiveProfit $6,000: requestYou receive
LucidFlex$1,500 (50% of profit)$1,350$2,000 (cap)$1,800

LucidDaily$900 (above $52,100)$810$3,900$3,510
LucidDirect (goal $3,000 met)$2,000 (cap)$1,800$2,000 (cap)$1,800
FundedNext Flex$1,500 (50% and the cap)$1,425$1,500 (cap)$1,425
FundedNext Rapid Pro$1,200 (cap)$1,080$1,200 (cap)$1,080
FundedNext Rapid Daily$900 (above $52,100)$810$1,200 (cap)$1,080
FundedNext Direct$900 (above $52,100)$810$1,200 (cap)$1,080

What this shows: on a $3,000 cycle the two firms pay similar amounts, with FundedNext Flex slightly ahead thanks to 95%. On bigger cycles Lucid pulls ahead because its caps at 50K ($2,000 to $2,500, and none on LucidDaily) are higher than FundedNext’s ($1,200 to $1,500).

The most one funded account can pay

Every current FundedNext funded account closes after five rewards, and Lucid’s Flex, Pro and Direct accounts move to a live review after payout 5. That makes the five-payout ceiling a fair like-for-like measure.

BestProps calculations from each firm’s published per-request maximums, read October 13, 2026. These are ceilings, not expected results: each request also needs its own cycle profit, and reaching every cap requires large simulated profits. FundedNext’s articles say an account is closed as “Concluded” after the fifth reward “following final settlement” but do not spell out what final settlement pays.
