RuleWatch official-source board

Compare how trailing drawdown floors move, where they lock, and which official sources say open equity can tighten the floor.

Trailing Drawdown Floor Checker

Pick a sourced preset or enter your own values. The output is the visible breach floor from the selected source math, not account advice.

Presets use only values captured from the checked official sources.

Use the value named by the selected source, not a random intraday balance.

Percent is used only when amount is blank.

Rows To Inspect First

This is a non-advice sorter. It groups rows by the rule component that can trip traders up, not by firm quality.

Open equity can tighten the floor

Start here if your concern is an open winner raising the drawdown floor before the trade closes.

These rows need careful source matching because EOD update does not always mean soft enforcement.

Check the lock point before withdrawals, scaling, or aggressive sizing. One Apex evaluation row keeps trailing indefinitely.

Tradeify
Growth, Select, Lightning; lock scoped to Sim Funded
EOD updatestart + $100 lockreal-time enforcement Trails the highest-ever end-of-day balance. The source says it only moves up and never recalculates from a lower balance. For Sim Funded accounts, the lock floor becomes $100 above starting balance after profit exceeds the drawdown amount by $100. The source says evaluations do not lock. Tradeify trailing max drawdowns
Checked July 3, 2026

Evidence note

The 50K Sim Funded examples show a $52,100 lock trigger and $50,100 fixed floor. BestProps does not apply the lock statement to evaluations because the source separates evaluations from Sim Funded accounts.

My Funded Futures
MAX EOD Trailing evaluation
EOD updatestart + $100 lockopen equity loss counts The source states Max EOD Drawdown is 3% and says the account has no daily drawdown in this scope. The source says Max EOD trailing locks in at $100 plus the initial starting balance. MFF MAX EOD Trailing
Checked July 3, 2026

Evidence note

The source also says open equity losses are taken into consideration when determining whether the account failed the rule.

Checked July 3, 2026

Preset note

The checker requires the account’s trailing amount because this source explains behavior but does not list every current account-size amount in the captured article.

Apex Trader Funding
Tradovate Evaluations in intraday article
intraday equity countskeeps trailingpeak balance Follows peak balance in the same intraday method, including realized and unrealized gains. The source says Tradovate Evaluations continue to trail indefinitely and do not stop at a fixed level. Apex intraday trailing drawdown

Preset note

The checker requires the account’s trailing amount because the captured source does not provide a current amount table for this row.

Checked July 3, 2026

Source note

The article repeatedly states 10% for 2 Step Pro, but one example sentence says “6%” in the 2 Step Pro section. BestProps uses the repeated 10% rule statements and records the example inconsistency here.

Source Gaps

  • TradeDay: checked official sources list Intraday and End of Day drawdown options and account-size trailing drawdown amounts, but the English sources did not clearly state a lock, cap, or stops-trailing behavior for this row standard.
  • TickTickTrader: the official homepage lists Tick Drawdown values, but the captured source does not explain whether the rule is trailing, static, intraday, end-of-day, closed-balance, or how it locks.
  • The5ers High Stakes: the official source describes absolute max loss and daily drawdown, not a trailing drawdown row.

How To Read A Trailing Drawdown Rule

Do not stop at the drawdown number. A $2,000 or 6% limit behaves differently depending on whether the source trails end-of-day balance, intraday peak equity, highest closed balance, or a capped maximum loss level.

The second question is whether unrealized profit can move the floor. In the official sources checked here, Apex’s intraday source includes realized and unrealized gains, while E8 and Blue Guardian use closed-balance language.

The third question is whether the floor locks. Topstep, E8, FundedNext, and Blue Guardian have starting-balance or capped-at-initial behavior in the checked scope. Tradeify, My Funded Futures, and Apex Performance Accounts use start-plus-$100 lock language in the checked scope. Apex Tradovate Evaluations are described as continuing to trail indefinitely.

Verification Checklist

  • Match the source to the exact firm, program, account size, platform, and stage you plan to use.
  • Confirm whether the rule trails balance, equity, peak balance, end-of-day balance, closed balance, or another firm-defined value.
  • Check whether open positions, commissions, fees, exchange fees, swaps, or unrealized profit and loss are included.
  • Find the lock point or cap, and confirm whether it applies during evaluation, simulated funded, performance account, live account, or all stages.
  • Re-check the source near the time you trade. Drawdown rules are operational rules and can change by product generation or account path.

What BestProps Does Not Infer

Checked July 3, 2026. This page uses official firm sources only. Rules can change by plan, size, platform, funded stage, add-on, and account agreement, so verify the linked source before trading or buying an account.

If a firm does not clearly state how a drawdown rule trails, BestProps does not treat that silence as proof that the account has no trailing drawdown. If a source explains one product path, BestProps does not apply it to every product the firm sells. If a source explains a breach rule, BestProps does not treat it as evidence about payout approval, payout delays, or historical enforcement.

This page uses official rule sources only. It does not use public complaints, trader posts, or review-site comments as proof of firm rules. It also does not rank firms by safety or suitability.
