EdgeProp Rules: Drawdown, News Trading, Consistency and Scaling Plan
Review the documented rules, source notes, tools, and account checks recorded for EdgeProp Rules: Drawdown, News Trading, Consistency and Scaling Plan.
Rules can change: The firm or platform controls the current wording. Confirm the linked source and your dashboard before you trade or request a payout.
EdgeProp rules for EdgeCore, EdgeOne and EdgeX, checked October 11, 2026. EdgeProp Trading sells three one-step futures evaluations in five sizes from $50K to $200K. All three share the same profit targets, drawdown amounts and contract limits, and none has a daily loss limit. What separates them is how the trailing drawdown moves, and which extra rules switch on once you are funded: a 40% consistency rule, a half-size scaling plan and a 30% per-trade loss cap. This page sets out every rule from the firm’s own rules pages, help centre and Funded Trader Agreement, with worked numbers and a consistency calculator.

Rows To Inspect First
These are the EdgeProp rules most likely to cost a pass, a payout or an account. The labels explain why each is surfaced; they are not a verdict on the firm.
EdgeCore trails open profit
On EdgeCore the drawdown floor follows your highest equity in real time, including unrealized profit. A runner that goes +$4,000 and comes back to +$500 has already lifted your floor by the full peak.
Half size until the Safety Net
Funded EdgeCore and EdgeOne accounts start at roughly half the evaluation contract limit. Trading full size before the Safety Net is a hard breach: payout denial, reset to the prior end-of-day balance and extra compliant days.
30% per-trade loss cap
In funded accounts no single open trade may show a floating loss above 30% of your start-of-day profit cushion. A trade that recovers later still counts as a breach at its worst point.
EdgeProp Rule Checks
| Rule area | Official-source snapshot | What to verify + evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Trailing drawdown intraday or EOD | Threshold = highest equity minus the plan’s drawdown distance ($2,500 to $6,000 by size). EdgeCore follows intraday equity highs including unrealized gains. EdgeOne and EdgeX recalculate at session end, but the active threshold must still be respected during the day. | Pick the plan for its drawdown model first; the other numbers are identical. Touching or falling below the threshold fails the account. | Daily loss limit none | The rules page lists “Daily loss limit: None” for EdgeCore, EdgeOne and EdgeX. The Funded Trader Agreement tables say the same for every size. | No daily cap does not mean unlimited room: the trailing drawdown and, once funded, the 30% MAE rule still apply to every trade. | Minimum trading days 7 days | Reach the target and complete at least seven qualifying trading days; they need not be consecutive. There is no maximum time to finish. | The homepage plan cards showed “5 Days” on October 11, 2026, while the rules page, help centre and agreement all say 7. Plan on 7. | Funded consistency 40% best day | On EdgeCore and EdgeOne funded accounts, your best day must be no more than 40% of the profit accumulated since your last payout. EdgeX has no consistency rule. Evaluations have none on any plan. | Minimum total profit needed = best day / 0.40. The count resets after each approved payout. | News trading −5 / +2 min | No opening, closing or holding positions from 5 minutes before a scheduled high-impact release until 2 minutes after. Evaluation: holding through it is disqualification. | Funded scaling half size first | EdgeCore and EdgeOne funded accounts start at 5 / 6 / 7 / 10 / 12 standard contracts for 50K / 75K / 100K / 150K / 200K. Full size unlocks from the next session after the Safety Net is reached. EdgeX is exempt. | Excess size must be closed at once; a breach can bring payout denial, a reset to the prior end-of-day balance and extra compliant days. Repeat breaches can close the account. | MAE per trade 30%, can rise to 50% | Each funded trade’s floating loss may not exceed 30% of the start-of-day profit cushion; with little or no cushion the base is the trailing amount ($750 on a 50K). It rises to 50% from the next session after end-of-day profit reaches twice the Safety Net buffer. | Each open position is judged separately, and a later recovery does not erase the breach. The agreement says EdgeX funded payouts carry no MAE requirement; confirm before relying on that. | Intraday only flat by 3:10 PM CT | All positions must be closed before 3:10 PM CT. Automatic liquidation starts at 3:08 PM CT. No overnight, between-session or weekend positions. | Microscalping 5 s or 10 s | The help centre flags accounts when more than 50% of profit comes from trades held 5 seconds or less. The Funded Trader Agreement requires at least 50% of profit from trades held longer than 10 seconds. | EdgeProp’s own rules page points out the difference and tells traders to confirm the standard with support. Use 10 seconds as the safe line. Source: EdgeProp Microscalping article, What is forbidden page and Funded Trader Agreement section 6.4 – checked October 11, 2026. Full source URLs |
| Copy trading sources conflict | The homepage FAQ answered “Yes. Copy trading is allowed” on October 11, 2026. The agreement (6.7) bans team trading and any copying among users, the Program Types article lists copy trading among prohibited activities, and the rules page says to confirm any own-account copier with support. | Copying another person’s trades is clearly banned. Copying between your own accounts is not settled in writing; get support’s answer in writing before you set it up. | Payout gate 5 days of $200+ | Funded payouts need 5 profitable days of at least $200 net since the last payout, the Safety Net reached, no active breaches and a compliance audit. Minimum request $500. | On EdgeCore and EdgeOne the 40% rule also applies. Payouts 1 to 5 are capped per request; see the funded section. | Inactivity 30 days or weekly | The help centre and rules page say 30 consecutive calendar days with no trades means the account is abandoned and deleted. Agreement section 6.11 asks for at least one trade per calendar week. | The two are not the same. Trading at least once a week satisfies both. EdgeProp Rules by Plan: Side-by-Side Tables
All three EdgeProp plans are one-step evaluations. You pass by hitting the profit target without touching the trailing drawdown threshold, and after at least seven trading days. The account sizes and their numbers are the same on every plan.
Evaluation parameters by account size
| Simulated size | Profit target | Trailing drawdown | Starting threshold | Max contracts (minis / micros) | Funded Safety Net |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $50,000 | $3,000 (6%) | $2,500 | $47,500 | 10 / 100 | $52,600 |
| $75,000 | $4,500 (6%) | $3,000 | $72,000 | 12 / 120 | $78,100 |
| $100,000 | $6,000 (6%) | $3,500 | $96,500 | 15 / 150 | $103,600 |
| $150,000 | $9,000 (6%) | $4,500 | $145,500 | 20 / 200 | $154,600 |
| $200,000 | $12,000 (6%) | $6,000 | $194,000 | 25 / 250 | $206,100 |
The target is 6% of the starting balance on every size, but the drawdown shrinks as a share of the account: 5% on the 50K, 4% on the 75K, 3.5% on the 100K and 3% on the 150K and 200K. On the larger accounts the target is two to three times the room you have to lose, so the 50K is the most forgiving size in proportion.
What changes between EdgeCore, EdgeOne and EdgeX

| Funded consistency rule | 40% | 40% | None |
| Funded contract scaling | Applies | Applies | Does not apply |
| Funded Safety Net | Required | Required | Required |
| 5 profitable days of $200+ per payout | Yes | Yes | Yes (help centre); agreement says no |

The program you buy is permanent for that account, according to the agreement. Prices differ: on October 11, 2026 EdgeCore was the cheapest plan and EdgeX the dearest. The EdgeProp review lists current prices and fees.

How the EdgeProp Evaluation Works
- Buy a plan and size. The help centre describes the evaluation fee as a one-time payment with no monthly subscription. The Terms and the agreement table still describe a 30-day auto-renewing fee. Check what checkout says before you pay.
- Trade to the target. Reach 6% profit (for example $12,000 on a 200K, so a $212,000 balance) without your equity touching the trailing threshold. There is no deadline.
- Log seven trading days. A day counts when at least one qualifying trade with genuine market exposure is executed. Days need not be consecutive and there is no minimum number of trades per day. You cannot pass in fewer than seven days even if you hit the target on day two.
- Pass the funding review. EdgeProp reviews the account before funding; flipping contracts just to register a day is prohibited and can fail the review.
- Pay the activation fee and sign the agreement. The newest help article (July 22, 2026) lists one-time, non-refundable activation fees of $60 / $75 / $90 / $105 / $120 for 50K to 200K. Older EdgeProp pages quote other amounts, so confirm in the dashboard.
- Trade the funded Performance Account. Funded rules switch on: Safety Net, half-size scaling (EdgeCore and EdgeOne), the 30% MAE cap and payout gates.
Edge case: hitting the target early. An older help article on the trailing threshold (March 28, 2026) says the evaluation threshold stops trailing once you reach the target. Your account still needs seven trading days to pass, and every rule, including news and the 3:10 PM CT close, keeps applying on the remaining days. Trading small on those days is the low-risk way to finish.

EdgeProp Drawdown Rules: Intraday vs End-of-Day Trailing
EdgeProp has one loss rule at account level: a trailing drawdown threshold. The formula is the same on every plan, threshold = highest equity − drawdown distance, and the distance is fixed by account size. The difference is when “highest equity” is measured.
EdgeCore: intraday trailing
The threshold follows your peak equity tick by tick, including unrealized profit on open trades. If equity touches the threshold at any point in the session, the account fails, even if price recovers minutes later.
| EdgeCore 50K example | Balance or equity | Peak | Threshold | Room left |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Start of day | $50,500 | $50,500 | $48,000 | $2,500 |
| Open trade runs to +$4,000 unrealized | $54,500 | $54,500 | $52,000 | $2,500 |
| Trade reverses, closed at +$500 | $51,000 | $54,500 | $52,000 | −$1,000: failed |
That is EdgeProp’s own example. The trader closed the day $500 up and still failed, because the floor had already moved to $52,000 at the peak. Taking partial profits on runners and watching floating P&L are the firm’s own suggested defences.
EdgeOne and EdgeX: end-of-day trailing
The threshold is recalculated once, at the close of each session, from the official end-of-day balance. Intraday swings do not move it. During the day you trade against the threshold set the previous evening, and touching that level still fails the account.
| EdgeOne 50K example | Intraday high | End-of-day balance | Threshold for next day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | $50,800 | $50,000 | $47,500 (unchanged) |
| Day 2: open trade to +$4,000, closed at +$500 | $54,000 | $50,500 | $48,000 |
| Day 3: good day | $52,400 | $52,000 | $49,500 |
The same runner that failed the EdgeCore account only lifts the EdgeOne threshold by the $500 actually banked. The EOD plans cost more than EdgeCore.
Where the drawdown stops: the Safety Net
In funded accounts the trailing stops for good once peak equity reaches the Safety Net = starting balance + trailing drawdown + $100: $52,600 on a 50K, $78,100 on a 75K, $103,600 on a 100K, $154,600 on a 150K and $206,100 on a 200K. On EdgeOne and EdgeX the Safety Net has to be confirmed at end of day. After that the threshold is a fixed floor. EdgeProp’s pages describe that floor differently: the PA article’s example has a 50K account dropping to $51,000 after the lock without failing (by the formula the locked threshold is $50,100), while the Program Types article and the Terms call the Safety Net itself the minimum balance to maintain in a funded account. Withdrawals must always leave the balance above the Safety Net. Treat the Safety Net as your floor until support confirms otherwise.
Realized profit alone does not lock it. EdgeProp’s example: a 150K trader with $6,000 of realized profit whose peak equity never touched $154,600 is still on a trailing threshold.
For how other firms handle this, see BestProps’ guide to trailing drawdown rules and the list of prop firms with end-of-day drawdown.

EdgeProp Consistency Rule and Calculator
The EdgeProp consistency rule only applies to funded EdgeCore and EdgeOne accounts. Evaluations have no consistency rule, and EdgeX funded accounts are exempt. When you ask for a payout, your best single day since the last payout must be no more than 40% of total profit over that same period:
best day ÷ total profit ≤ 40%, or equivalently minimum total profit = best day ÷ 0.40.
Breaking it does not breach the account. It holds the payout until enough further profit dilutes the big day, and the measurement restarts after each approved payout.
The 40% rule, worked
| Scenario (since last payout) | Best day | Total profit | Ratio | Result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EdgeProp’s own example | $2,000 | $5,000 | 40.0% | Meets the rule (40% is the maximum allowed) |
| Agreement example | $1,500 | $3,200 | 46.9% | Not yet. Needs $3,750, so $550 more |
| One big day on a 50K | $1,800 | $3,000 | 60.0% | Not yet. Needs $4,500, so $1,500 more |
| Big day, then a red day | $1,200 | $2,700 | 44.4% | Not yet. A $400 loss pushed it back over; needs $3,000 |
| Steady week | $700 | $2,600 | 26.9% | Meets the rule (still needs 5 days of $200+) |
Two practical points. Losing days reduce total profit, which raises the ratio, so a red day after a big green day can undo eligibility. And because every payout also needs five days of at least $200, the 40% rule rarely bites on steady trading: five $400 days give $2,000 with a 20% best-day share. It bites when one day is much bigger than the rest.
EdgeProp consistency calculator
Enter each day’s net P&L since your last approved payout (or since funding for the first one). The calculator checks the 40% rule, counts your $200+ days and shows how much more profit you need. For other firms’ limits, use the general consistency rule calculator or read the consistency rule explainer.
Result
The calculator does not check the Safety Net, the payout cap or conduct rules; the firm’s audit decides final eligibility.

EdgeProp News Trading Rules
EdgeProp restricts trading around scheduled high-impact economic releases on every plan, in both the evaluation and the funded stage. The rule is strict: be flat at least 5 minutes before the release, and do not open, close or hold a position until 2 minutes after it.
| Event | Typical release (CT) | Restricted window (CT) |
|---|---|---|
| Non-Farm Payrolls (monthly) | 7:30 AM | 7:25 AM to 7:32 AM |
| CPI / Core CPI (monthly) | 7:30 AM | 7:25 AM to 7:32 AM |
| Retail Sales | 7:30 AM | 7:25 AM to 7:32 AM |
| Initial Jobless Claims (weekly) | 7:30 AM | 7:25 AM to 7:32 AM |
| FOMC rate decision (8 a year) | 1:00 PM | 12:55 PM to 1:02 PM |
The list of covered releases also includes GDP (advance, preliminary and final), the Core PCE price index and ISM manufacturing and services PMIs. The times above are EdgeProp’s examples; the live calendar in the dashboard (Resources, Economic Calendar, shown in Central Time) is what counts, and if a release is rescheduled the window moves with it.
- Evaluation: holding a position during the window is disqualification.
- Funded: the account may be flagged for audit and suspended pending review. Agreement section 6.17 adds that trading which exploits abnormal spreads or slippage around events can lead to payout review or denial.
- No partial-close exceptions: the firm states there are no exceptions for missed deadlines or partial closes. A resting stop or target that fills inside the window is still a trade inside the window, so pull working orders too.
Since FOMC lands at 1:00 PM CT and the daily cut-off is 3:1
