Research basis and limitations

TL;DR: FundedFirm is a forex and CFD prop firm that trades on MetaTrader 5 and says it is run by FundedFirm LTD, registered in Saint Lucia since 2023. On October 11, 2026 it sold four account types: 1 Step and 2 Step evaluations from $5K to $100K, an Instant account with no profit target, and a 30-day Instant Daily account from $3K to $18K. Sale prices ran from $39 (2 Step $5K) to $549 (1 Step and Instant $100K). The rules are long and strict: a 5x lot-size ceiling per instrument, a cap on how much one trade may lose, hedging bans, and trailing drawdowns on Instant accounts. The firm’s own pages give three different versions of the profit split and disagree on refunds and drawdown wording. Trustpilot has hidden FundedFirm’s rating for a breach of its guidelines and says it removed fake reviews; 219 of the 282 reviews still listed are one-star, most describing breaches or rejected payouts under the lot-size and per-trade loss rules. Residents and citizens of the US and the UAE cannot buy, and seven more countries are listed as restricted.

Research status: On October 11, 2026 we read FundedFirm’s homepage challenge cards, every account type and size in its checkout, all four tabs of its trading rules page, all 84 answers in its FAQ, its terms and conditions, risk disclosure, legal, about and payouts pages, and its iOS and Android app listings. The same day we read its Trustpilot profiles, its Forex Peace Army page and the Reddit threads linked below. We did not buy an account, so anything that only shows after purchase (payout processing, the funded agreement, actual spreads) is printed as FundedFirm publishes it and is not verified by purchase.

FundedFirm review verdict: is FundedFirm legit?

FundedFirm is a real, operating prop firm. It has a working checkout, a trader dashboard, apps on the App Store and Google Play, a public rules page and a Telegram community, and some traders on Trustpilot, Forex Peace Army and Reddit say they have been paid. It is not a broker and does not claim to be regulated.

Whether it is a good place to spend a challenge fee is a separate question, and the evidence points to caution:

  • Trustpilot shows the rating as unavailable “due to a breach of our guidelines” and says it has removed “a number of fake reviews” for the company. Of the 282 reviews still listed on October 11, 2026, 219 (78%) were one-star and 22 (8%) were five-star.
  • The recurring complaint is not a missing payment on an approved request. It is accounts breached or payouts rejected after the trader asked for money, under rules such as the 5x base-lot ceiling, the per-trade loss cap, “trade clustering” or “gambling behaviour”.
  • FundedFirm’s own pages contradict each other on the profit split, on refunds, on whether the maximum drawdown is fixed or trailing, on the minimum number of trading days and on whether funded accounts are simulated or “backed by real capital”.
  • The marketing leans on awards from the Forex Expo Dubai, a “$22+ Million Paid Out” banner and a checkout badge reading “Rated 9.6/10 From all Verified Review”, while the one large public review base it has (Trustpilot) points the other way.

On the plus side, the prices are low, the rulebook is public and very detailed, news trading and weekend holds are allowed on most accounts, and there is no time limit on the evaluations. If you buy, read the rules tab for your exact account type line by line, size every trade against the lot and loss caps before you place it, and treat the profit split as the lowest of the published figures until support confirms otherwise in writing. BestProps does not give FundedFirm a numeric score; our review methodology explains how we check firms.

Who runs FundedFirm

FundedFirm’s about page says “FundedFirm LTD is a proprietary trading firm registered in Saint Lucia” with an address at Ground Floor, The Sotheby Building, Rodney Village, Rodney Bay, Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia. It says the company was founded in 2023, reached 1,000 traders in its first three months and now has “over 300,000 traders across more than 150 countries”. No company registration number is published.

Two other public records point elsewhere:

  • The Google Play listing for the FundedFirm app names the developer as FUNDEDFIRM LTD – DUBAI BRANCH, with an office in Port Saeed, Deira, Dubai and a UAE phone number. FundedFirm’s own terms bar UAE residents and citizens from buying.
  • The company’s Trustpilot contact details list Birmingham, United Kingdom and a UK phone number.

The terms and conditions also carry some residue from a template: the indemnity clause names “Intellimeter” rather than FundedFirm, and we found no governing-law clause. Clause 18 says all communications with the company are confidential and that you agree not to “disclose, share, publish, or otherwise make public any part of these communications” without written consent. That is unusual for a prop firm and is worth knowing before you rely on support emails in a dispute.

FundedFirm’s press page lists coverage in Indian and US outlets (ABP News, Mint, The Tribune, ANI, Business Insider, MarketWatch, Benzinga and others). Several of these are syndicated press releases, such as the “Zero-Commission Prop Trading Model” announcement, rather than independent reporting. The homepage says FundedFirm won “Best Prop Firm 2026” at the Forex Expo Dubai on September 22 and 23, 2026, and “Most Trusted Prop Firm 2025” at the same event.

How the FundedFirm prop firm works

FundedFirm sells four products. All trade forex, metals, indices, energies and crypto CFDs on MetaTrader 5.

  1. 1 Step (the “Student” model at checkout): pass one phase with a 10% profit target, then trade a funded account.
  2. 2 Step (Student): pass an 8% phase 1 and a 5% phase 2. A cheaper option sets the phase 1 target to 10%.
  3. Instant (the “Elite” model): no evaluation and no profit target. You trade a funded account from day one under tighter limits and trailing drawdowns.
  4. Instant Daily: launched as “3.0” and promoted in the site banner. A funded account from day one, valid for 30 days, with payouts every 24 hours from your first trade and a fixed 70% split.

The challenge fee is a one-time payment, with no monthly subscription. On 1 Step and 2 Step you need at least 3 trading days per phase, there is no maximum time, and 30 days with no trade ends the account. FundedFirm’s FAQ says funded accounts are usually issued 24 to 48 hours after you pass, and that identity checks (KYC) happen when you first ask for a payout, not at purchase.

Pros and cons

Pros Cons
Low entry prices: $39 for a $5K 2 Step and $49 for a $5K 1 Step on the October 2026 sale. Trustpilot rating hidden for a guideline breach; 78% of listed reviews are one-star.
No time limit on 1 Step and 2 Step evaluations. A 5x base-lot ceiling per instrument that tightens every time you trade smaller.
News trading allowed; overnight and weekend holds allowed on all accounts except Instant Daily. A cap on how much one trade can lose: 40% of the daily limit on evaluations, 1% of the account on Instant.
No swap or commission on 1 Step and 2 Step accounts, per the FAQ. Three different profit-split schedules across the rules page, FAQ and checkout.
Leverage up to 1:100 on evaluations (1:50 on crypto). Instant accounts carry trailing drawdowns and a 60% split unless you pay for weekly payouts.
Detailed rulebook with worked examples, all public before purchase. No refunds in the terms; chargebacks lead to a ban on every account you hold.
Apps on iOS and Android, with payouts requested in the app. MetaTrader 5 is the only platform; no EAs or bots.

Checkout add-ons

The checkout offers paid add-ons that change what you are buying. Prices scale with the account price:

  • 100% Lifetime Payout (Monthly): about 24.6% of the account price, for example $12.05 on a $5K 1 Step, $135.00 on a $100K 1 Step and $129.10 on a $100K 2 Step.
  • Bi-Weekly payouts at an 80% split: 20% of the price, offered only on $5K to $25K 1 Step and 2 Step accounts (for example $9.80 on a $5K 1 Step).
  • Weekly payouts: 10% of the price on $5K to $25K 1 Step and 2 Step accounts. The rules page sets the weekly split at 60%.
  • Breach insurance: “Reset the account once within the first 7 days”, at 50% of the price ($24.50 on a $5K 1 Step, $274.50 on a $100K 1 Step).
  • Instant weekly payouts at 80%: 10% of the price ($6.50 on $5K, $54.90 on $100K). Without it, Instant pays on demand at 60%.

What an account really costs: worked examples

  • $100K 1 Step with the 100% split: $549 + $135.00 = $684.00. With breach insurance as well: $958.50.
  • $100K 2 Step, cheapest route: choose the 10% phase 1 target and pay $472.50 instead of $525, a saving of $52.50 in exchange for a target that is $2,000 higher.
  • $25K Instant with 80% weekly payouts: $229 + $22.90 = $251.90. To get the fee back at 80% you need $314.88 of payable profit, or 1.26% of the account, before anything you keep is profit.
  • $6K Instant Daily: $92 at a 70% split means about $131.43 of profit, or 2.2% of the account, inside the 30-day life just to recover the fee.

FundedFirm discount code

The checkout has a discount code box. We found no code published by FundedFirm on its own site on October 11, 2026; the current sale is applied automatically and shows as the struck-through list price. Coupon sites list other codes we could not confirm with the firm. Enter any code before you pay and check that the “You pay” total actually drops. The terms also describe “Gold Coins”, a loyalty reward that can only be redeemed as a discount on FundedFirm products and has no cash value.

Drawdown rules, with worked numbers

FundedFirm resets the trading day at 10:00 PM UTC. Both floating and closed losses count, and a breach of either limit closes the account permanently.

Daily loss limit on 1 Step and 2 Step

The daily limit is 3% (1 Step) or 5% (2 Step) of the higher of your balance or equity at the start of the day. It is fixed for the day and does not grow with intraday profit.

Example on a $10,000 1 Step: you start the day at $10,000, so the floor is $9,700. Next day you close at $10,200 with $100 of open profit, so the day starts at $10,300 equity. The new limit is 3% of $10,300 = $309, and equity must stay above $9,991 all day, even though your closed balance is only $10,200. Carrying open profit overnight raises the floor.

Maximum loss on 1 Step and 2 Step

The rules page says the maximum loss is fixed at 6% (1 Step) or 10% (2 Step) of the initial balance and “does not change even if you make profits”. On a $10,000 1 Step, equity must stay above $9,400 for the life of the account. The FAQ instead describes “6% of your starting or trailing balance”, so ask support to confirm the static reading in writing before you plan around it.

Trailing drawdown on Instant accounts

Since September 1, every new Instant account trades under two trailing lines, and an Instant account that is reset after a payout switches to them too. Accounts opened earlier keep the old fixed limits.

  • Daily line: 3% of the day’s opening balance plus any open profit carried in. The line moves up every time equity makes a new high during the day and never moves down within the day. It restarts each day.
  • Overall line: 5% of the starting balance, trailing the all-time equity high for the life of the account. It never resets.

Example on a $25,000 Instant: the overall line starts at $23,750. If equity reaches $26,000, the line is now $24,750 and stays there even if you give the gain back. On the same day the daily line started at $24,250 and has trailed to $25,250, so a pullback of $750 from the high ends the account. A trader who gives back gains quickly can breach while still showing a net profit.

The 5x lot rule and per-trade loss caps

These two rules drive most of the complaints we read, so it is worth working through them before you trade.

The 5x base-lot rule (1 Step, 2 Step and Instant)

The rule reads: “No trade may be more than 5x your smallest trade on that same pair.” Your smallest lot ever opened on an instrument is your base lot, and five times that is your ceiling. It is checked separately for each instrument and a breach is permanent.

The trap is that the ceiling follows your smallest trade down. If your first EURUSD trades are 0.50 lots, your ceiling is 2.50 lots. If you later open 0.05 lots to test an entry, the base drops to 0.05 and the ceiling to 0.25 lots, and every larger EURUSD trade is now out of line with it. Several Trustpilot reviewers say they were breached exactly this way, after passing or after requesting a payout. Pick one minimum size per instrument and never go below it.

Trades on the same symbol in the same direction opened within 3 minutes of the first count as one trade, even if some were closed inside that window.

How much one trade may lose

Account Rule $10K example
1 Step No single trade may lose more than 40% of the 3% daily limit $300 daily limit, so $120 per trade
2 Step No single trade may lose more than 40% of the 5% daily limit $500 daily limit, so $200 per trade
Instant Maximum loss on any single trade is 1% of the account size $100 per trade
Instant Daily Combined floating loss on open positions may not exceed 1% of the account On a $6K account, $60 open loss at any moment

Slippage does not excuse a breach. FundedFirm’s FAQ says that if a stop loss is skipped by a spike and the loss crosses a limit, the account “will still be considered breached”. On Instant, if any one position inside a 3-minute group loses more than 1%, it counts as a breach even if the other positions offset it. Size stops so that a gap of several pips past your stop still keeps you under the cap.

News, weekends, EAs, hedging and other rules

  • News trading: allowed on every account. Slippage during news can still trigger a breach.
  • Overnight and weekend holding: allowed on 1 Step, 2 Step and Instant. Instant Daily allows overnight holds but every position must be closed before the weekend close.
  • Hedging: you cannot hold a buy and a sell on the same instrument at the same time, and opposing trades across accounts are banned.
  • Expert advisors and bots: not allowed; trading must be manual.
  • Copy trading: not allowed, including between your own FundedFirm accounts. You can hold several accounts, but each must be traded independently.
  • Stop losses: the FAQ says a stop loss is mandatory on at least 80% of trades. On Instant Daily a stop must be set within 1 minute of entry; missing it is a soft breach, and the third soft breach can close the account.
  • Minimum hold time (Instant Daily): trades closed in under 60 seconds are soft breaches; the 11th can close the account.
  • Forbidden practices: bulk trading, stacking or clustering positions on the same or correlated instruments, one-directional “betting”, tick scalping and latency trading, martingale or aggressive averaging down.
  • Single-trade dependence: on evaluations, an account where 80% or more of the profit comes from one trade may be reviewed and reset.
  • Inactivity: no trade for 30 days ends the account permanently.
  • IP region: your IP region must stay the same from purchase to funded trading. If it changes, FundedFirm may ask for proof such as a plane ticket, a passport stamp or a live video, so tell support before you travel.
  • Trading during a review: trading while a payout or pass request is under review can lead to the account being reset.

FundedFirm payouts and profit split

For every account, a payout needs at least 1% net profit on the funded account size: $100 on a $10K, $1,000 on a $100K. FundedFirm says payouts are processed within 24 hours, that it charges no payout fee, and its trader payouts page shows payout certificates. The Android app listing mentions bank transfer and crypto payouts, and the homepage lists bank payouts.

The profit split depends on which page you read

Source 1 Step and 2 Step split
Rules page, Payout Policy Monthly plan up to 100%, bi-weekly 80%, weekly 60%. Weekly and bi-weekly payouts are released on Wednesdays from the second week after the account opens.
FAQ 90% in the first month, 95% in the second, 100% from the third. “Payouts are available monthly.”
Checkout “100% Lifetime Payout (Monthly)” is a paid add-on; bi-weekly at 80% and weekly are paid add-ons on $5K to $25K.
Homepage card “Profit Split Upto 100%”, reward cycle “Monthly/BiWeekly-Weekly”.

Read together, the most likely reading is that the standard 1 Step and 2 Step account pays monthly and climbs from 90% to 100%, the lifetime add-on gives 100% from the first payout, and the faster cycles cost extra and pay less. FundedFirm does not say this in one place, so confirm with support before you pay for an add-on.

Worked payout examples

  • $50K 2 Step, first month, no add-on: you make $2,000. That is above the 1% minimum ($500). At the FAQ’s 90% you receive $1,800.
  • $25K Instant on demand: five days with at least $125 profit each (0.5%), then a $2,000 payout request. No single trade may be more than 20% of it ($400). At 60% you receive $1,200; with the weekly add-on at 80%, $1,600.
  • $6K Instant Daily: minimum withdrawal 1% ($60). If you request $300 of profit, no single trade may exceed 15% ($45). At 70% you receive $210.

Payout proof

FundedFirm advertises “$22+ Million Paid Out” and posts payout certificates on its site. Those figures cannot be checked against bank records, and the counters on its payouts page load as animations rather than published numbers. The third-party evidence is mixed: a Forex Peace Army reviewer and some Trustpilot reviewers report receiving payouts, while most recent Trustpilot reviews describe rejected requests.

Instant Daily: the 30-day account

Instant Daily is FundedFirm’s newest product. It is funded from the day you buy it, with no target and no evaluation, but it runs on the tightest rules in the range:

  • 3% trailing daily line and 4% trailing overall line. Because the daily line sits above the overall line, it is the one you hit first. On a $500 example the firm gives, the daily floor starts at $485 and the overall line at $480.
  • Combined open loss capped at 1% of the account at any moment.
  • Stop loss within 1 minute and a 60-second minimum hold, both enforced with soft breaches.
  • No weekend holding. The account expires on day 31; buy on March 1 and it expires on March 31.
  • Fixed 70% split, payout approval “within 30 minutes”, and 15% consistency measured on the payout you request.
  • For accounts bought from 12:00 AM IST on October 1, 2026, the first payout is available 24 hours after your first trade, and each later window opens 24 hours after the next trade you open. Older accounts needed three profitable days first.

The short life and the fee mean you need about 2% (on the $18K account) to 3.3% (on the $3K account) of profit inside 30 days just to recover the fee at 70%, while never letting open positions lose more than 1%. That suits a short-term trader with tight stops, not a swing trader.

FundedFirm platforms: MT5 only

FundedFirm trades only on MetaTrader 5, on desktop, web and mobile. There is no MT4, cTrader, TradeLocker or TradingView route, and no platform fee. The FAQ lists performance dashboards and trade analytics in the FundedFirm dashboard at my.fundedfirm.com, but no trading signals. Expert advisors are not allowed, so MT5’s automation is off the table.

Instruments are forex pairs, metals, indices, energies and crypto CFDs. One Trustpilot reviewer complained of 10 to 15 pip spreads on currency pairs; FundedFirm does not publish its spreads, so check them in the MT5 terminal on a live quote before you trade size.

The FundedFirm app

FundedFirm has a mobile app on the App Store and Google Play. On October 11, 2026 the iOS version was 2.0.1 (September 23) with a 5.0 rating from two ratings, and the Android version had more than 10,000 downloads and was last updated on September 13, 2026. The app lets you buy challenges, follow equity, P&L and drawdown in real time, view a leaderboard, see your MT5 credentials and request payouts. Version 2.0 put the payout request on a single screen. You still place trades in the MT5 app, not in the FundedFirm app.

FundedFirm restricted countries

FundedFirm publishes two lists that do not match:

  • Terms and conditions: the services are not available to residents, citizens or anyone located in the United States or the United Arab Emirates. The checkout makes you confirm “I am not a US or UAE citizen”.
  • Footer and legal page: no services for citizens or residents of the USA, Cuba, Iraq, Myanmar, North Korea, Sudan, Iran, Russia and the UAE.

Treat the longer list as the one that applies. The about page also says FundedFirm “expanded into … Iraq” in 2025, which contradicts the footer list. Being outside these countries is not the end of it: the IP-region rule means trading from a different country than the one you bought from can trigger a verification request. Its about page lists expansion into Bangladesh, Nigeria, Nepal and Indonesia, and most of its Trustpilot reviewers are in India. US traders should look at forex prop firms that accept US traders instead.

Payment methods and KYC

FundedFirm’s FAQ says it accepts Bitcoin and USDT on the TRC20, BEP20 and ERC20 networks, and asks you to pick the right network. The checkout’s payment step asks for the amount, the transaction ID and a screenshot of the transfer. The checkout code we read on October 11, 2026 also contains a UPI option priced in Indian rupees with a separate UPI fee, and a Forex Peace Army reviewer in July 2026 said UPI payment was available. The FAQ does not mention UPI, and the options you see depend on your country, so check them at checkout.

No documents are needed to buy. ID checks happen at your first payout, and the FAQ warns that if your KYC name does not match the name on the purchase, the payout “may be declined” and the account may be reset. Use your legal name from the start.

Refunds, resets and chargebacks

  • Refunds: the terms say “ALL PAYMENTS ARE FINAL” and that no refund applies. The FAQ calls the fee non-refundable. The rules page for 1 Step and 2 Step says the opposite in one line: “All traders who pass the Evaluation will receive a refund of their fees along with their 4th reward.” Ask for that in writing if you are counting on it.
  • Retries: there is no free retake; a breached account means buying a new challenge.
  • Resets: the only paid reset is the breach-insurance add-on, good for one reset within the first 7 days. FundedFirm’s risk team can also reset an account itself, for example after a KYC mismatch or trading during a review.
  • Chargebacks: disputing a payment leads to a ban on the disputed account and closure of every other active account you hold, with no further accounts allowed.

FundedFirm Trustpilot reviews

On October 11, 2026, FundedFirm’s Trustpilot page at fundedfirm.com showed “This company’s rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines” and “We’ve removed a number of fake reviews for this company.” The profile is claimed by the company.

Stars Reviews Share
5-star 22 8%
4-star 3 1%
3-star 28 10%
2-star 10 4%
1-star 219 78%
Total 282 172 in the last 12 months

Trustpilot’s data shows the company replied to 4 of 149 negative reviews, and its last reply to a negative review was on November 15, 2025. Most recent reviewers are in India. A separate Trustpilot page for my.fundedfirm.com had 3 reviews (one five-star, two one-star) and is not claimed.

The common themes in the 2026 reviews:

  • Accounts breached under the 5x base-lot rule after passing or after a payout request, including claims that the rule was applied retroactively.
  • Instant accounts breached for a single trade losing more than 1%, including when a stop loss slipped.
  • Payouts rejecte
