We checked 17 prop firms that sell an exact $50,000 account today, across both forex/CFD and futures, and ranked every one on cost per $1,000 of loss room, the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure the product reaches at any stage. On forex and CFD, Blue Guardian’s 2 Step Nano is the cheapest at $25.40 per $1,000 with a $5,000 static floor. On futures, Topstep’s No Activation Fee path is cheapest at $47.50 per $1,000 at list. Sticker price alone misleads: Alpha Capital Group’s own Alpha Pro 10% costs $50 more upfront than its Alpha Pro 6%, but wins on this metric because its floor is proportionally larger, and Topstep’s own Standard path, advertised at $49, actually costs $198 to a first payout once a deferred $149 activation fee is counted, more than the No Activation Fee path this guide ranks instead. DNA Funded publishes a $50,000 product on paper but its checkout has returned “orders paused” and a 404 on every check since September 27, 2026, so it is not ranked.

Quick picks for the cheapest 50K prop firm challenge

  • Cheapest $50,000 forex/CFD evaluation per $1,000 of loss room: Blue Guardian 2 Step Nano, $25.40 per $1,000, with a static $5,000 floor.
  • Cheapest $50,000 futures evaluation per $1,000 of loss room: Topstep’s No Activation Fee path, $47.50 per $1,000 at list.
  • Cheapest sticker that is not the best value: Topstep’s own advertised $49/month Standard path hides a $149 activation fee due on passing, a real first-cycle cost of $198; the No Activation Fee path at $95/month ($47.50 per $1,000) ranked above is the better deal.
  • Widest static floor at $50,000: FundingPips 2 Step Flex, a $6,000 floor the firm states explicitly cannot be touched by floating losses at any phase.
  • Fee refunded at payout: FTMO’s 2-Step Standard refunds its entire €345 fee with the first Reward, netting to $0 after a single pass, something its own cheaper-on-paper 1-Step never does.

Why sticker price misleads at this size: a $50,000 account with a tight floor is not the same product as one with a wide floor, even at an identical or lower price. Alpha Capital Group’s own ladder shows this clearly: Alpha Pro 6% lists for $50 less than Alpha Pro 10%, but its floor is proportionally smaller, so Alpha Pro 10% is actually the cheaper product once cost per $1,000 of loss room, not the sticker, sets the comparison.

How cost per $1,000 of loss room works

Two real products from the tables below show why this matters more than the price tag. Blue Guardian’s 2 Step Nano costs $127 with a $5,000 static floor: $127 divided by 5 is $25.40 per $1,000 of loss room. Alpha Capital Group’s Alpha Pro 6% costs $217, a lower sticker than its own Alpha Pro 10% at $267, but its floor is only $3,000: $217 divided by 3 is $72.33 per $1,000, nearly three times Blue Guardian’s figure despite a sticker price between the two Alpha Capital products. The lesson is not that cheaper floors are bad, it is that a dollar figure on its own tells you nothing about value until you divide it by how much loss room it actually buys. This guide computes that division for every $50,000 product named below, using the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure a product reaches at any stage, evaluation or funded, never a daily loss limit, a per-position floating-loss rule, or a minimum-balance figure.

Firm not purchasable today
  1. Exact-size rule: a product qualifies only if the firm’s own checkout shows a purchasable account at exactly $50,000, never a nearby size rounded in.
  2. Metric: cost per $1,000 of loss room equals the list price of the firm’s metric-best $50K variant, plus any activation fee and fixed published payout fee, divided by the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure the product reaches at any stage, times 1,000.
  3. Every variant priced: where a firm sells more than one $50,000 plan, every variant is priced and the metric computed for each; the firm is ranked on its metric-best product, not its cheapest-looking one.
  4. Currency conversion: FTMO prices in euros; converted at the ECB EUR/USD rate of 1.1225 dated October 2, 2026, stated once here and shown beside the converted figure.
  5. Promos and live call-ups: products rank on list price; a promo is shown as a secondary, dated figure with its code. A discretionary live call-up is recorded as a warning in each firm’s block, never a reason to rank a firm lower.

A hidden Trustpilot rating is never a ranking reason either; where a firm’s rating is hidden behind a review-guideline banner, that is stated plainly in its own block beside the review count.

Notes on this ranking: Cost per $1,000 is list price divided by the smallest overall max-loss dollar figure the product reaches at any stage, never a daily loss limit. Codes shown are firm-published and uncompensated; products rank on list price. A cost marked fee-only belongs to a firm that publishes no activation fee, neither a figure nor an explicit $0, so it covers the evaluation fee alone and would rise if a fee is charged after you pass. * FTMO prices in euros; converted at the ECB EUR/USD rate of 1.1225 dated October 2, 2026. FTMO’s own 2-Step Standard costs slightly more on the raw metric (€345, about $77.45 per $1,000) but refunds its entire fee with the first payout, making its net cost $0 after a single pass, something the 1-Step never does.

Notes on this ranking: Same method as the forex/CFD table. Monthly-billed products are shown at their first month’s list price; the cost rises every month you stay. † Phidias’ ranked variant is its Monthly-billed Fundamental path, shown at list including the $149 activation fee due on pass; its own one-time Fundamental path, and its Premium and Express to Live products at both billing paths, all cost more per $1,000 of loss room at list, as detailed in the firm’s block below. ‡ Topstep’s own homepage leads with a $49 Standard-path sticker; a $149 activation fee due only on passing makes that path’s real first-cycle cost $198, more than double the No Activation Fee path ranked here. § Apex’s own Intraday Trail variants are numerically cheaper still (as low as $39.95 per $1,000 at the coded price, on the No Activation Fee Intraday at $79.90 with SAVENOW), but their funded-stage floor tracks live unrealized profit in real time rather than settling once at end of day, so they are shown separately rather than ranked clean; see the Apex firm block below for both variants in full.

Why cross-asset $50,000 accounts cost so differently per dollar of loss room

Two 50,000 dollar account cards side by side, one with a short loss room bar and one with a loss room bar twice as long, both under the same price tag icon, captioned same size different value
Two $50,000 account cards side by side, one with a short loss room bar and one with a loss room bar twice as long, both under the same price tag icon, captioned same size different value.

Forex and CFD firms structure their $50,000 cost mostly on the evaluation sticker, with no activation fee in almost every case in this comparison; futures firms often split the real cost into a cheaper evaluation sticker plus a separate activation fee due only after passing, which is exactly the trap behind Topstep’s $49 Standard-path headline. That structural difference is why this guide never blends the two asset classes into one sorted table: a futures buyer comparing Apex’s $590 sticker against a forex firm’s $300 sticker, without separately checking for an activation fee on one side and none on the other, would be comparing two different cost shapes as if they were the same number. For the fuller asset-specific breakdowns behind each table here, see our cheapest forex prop firms and cheapest futures prop firms guides.

Ranked forex and CFD 50K prop firm accounts

Blue Guardian’s 2 Step Nano is the cheapest $50K forex evaluation in this comparison by a wide margin

Verdict: First by a wide margin: at $127 for a two-phase evaluation with the largest static dollar floor of any ranked product here, 2 Step Nano costs about half of the next-cheapest product per $1,000 of loss room.

Video: “Which Blue Guardian Account is Best? (All Rules explained),” Blue Guardian official YouTube channel, May 7, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Blue Guardian’s own account-comparison explainer covers 2 Step Nano directly; no $50K-specific cut exists beyond it.

2 Step Nano lists at $127 for a $50,000 account (checkout total $95.25 with code BG25, no published end date), with a $5,000 static max loss, 10% of $50,000, fixed from the initial balance and unchanged through both phases and the funded stage: $127 / 5 = $25.40 per $1,000 of loss room. The profit target is $6,500 total, $4,000 (8%) in Phase 1 and $2,500 (5%) in Phase 2. There is no minimum trading days requirement, and the funded split starts at 80%, rising to 90% with a paid add-on.

Blue Guardian sells four other $50,000 products beyond 2 Step Nano: 2 Step Standard ($232, $4,000 static, $43.50 per $1,000), 1 Step Nano ($160, $3,000 trailing, $40.00 per $1,000), 1 Step Standard ($200, $3,000 trailing, $50.00 per $1,000) and Instant Standard ($324, $3,000 trailing, $81.00 per $1,000). The 10% floor is checked against equity including unrealized profit on open trades, so a losing position can breach the account before it closes even though the dollar ceiling itself never moves, and a separate 3% daily loss ($1,500 at this size) ends the account outright, a hard limit that does not disqualify a forex 2-step product under this guide’s own test. All accounts at this firm, including funded ones, remain simulated; there is no live call-up at all on the CFD side.

  • Price at this size: $127 list ($95.25 with code BG25) for a $50,000 2 Step Nano account.
  • The rule that bites: A 3% daily loss ($1,500 at this size) ends the account outright, on top of the 10% overall static floor.
  • Choose it when: You want the single cheapest $50K evaluation in this comparison and can live with a hard daily loss limit.
  • Watch out for: The 10% floor is checked against equity including open, unrealized losses, so a losing trade can breach the account before you close it.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 2,094 reviews. Blue Guardian profile, status.

E8 Markets’ E8 Pro 10% is the only ranked $50K forex product here with no consistency rule at any stage

Verdict: Second: E8 Pro with the 10% maximum loss option is this firm’s cheapest product per $1,000 of loss room, and its static floor and complete absence of a consistency rule make it the cleanest rule set in this comparison, offset by a payout structure that withholds half of every profit cycle.

Video: “Consistency Rule Explained in 2 minutes (Best Day rule),” E8 Markets official YouTube channel, May 21, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: E8 Markets’ own explainer of its consistency rules is the closest official video, directly relevant to why E8 Pro has none.

E8 Pro with the 10% maximum loss option lists at $249 for a $50,000 account ($187 with code E8 on a first order, no published end date), with a $5,000 static max loss (10% of $50,000, fixed, moving to the initial balance only after the first payout): $249 / 5 = $49.80 per $1,000 of loss room. E8 publishes no activation fee, and payouts can be requested daily with no minimum trading days. The same E8 Pro account costs $228 with an 8% maximum loss ($4,000 floor, $57.00 per $1,000) and $218 with a 6% maximum loss ($3,000 floor, $72.67 per $1,000). This firm also sells E8 One, whose floor trails the highest closed balance and whose funded account carries a 40% Best Day consistency rule (from $235 with a $2,000 floor, $117.50 per $1,000, up to $519 with a $7,000 floor, $74.14 per $1,000, its best figure), and E8 Signature ($160, $2,000 end-of-day trailing floor, $80.00 per $1,000).

Every E8 Pro payout cycle withholds 50% of total profit as a buffer, so only half of the profit earned in a cycle is ever requestable, even though the sticker price and static floor look clean on paper. A 2% daily profit cap also limits how much counts toward the target or a payout each day, regardless of how much more is actually made. All E8 Markets accounts, including funded ones, remain simulated; there is no live call-up at all.

  • Price at this size: $249 list ($187 with code E8 on a first order) for a $50,000 E8 Pro account with the 10% maximum loss option.
  • The rule that bites: Every payout cycle withholds 50% of total profit as a buffer; only half of what you earn in a cycle can actually be requested.
  • Choose it when: You want a static floor with zero consistency rule at either stage and are comfortable with that payout buffer.
  • Watch out for: The 2.5% daily drawdown ($1,250 at $50,000) ends the account on every E8 Pro option, so choosing the wider 10% floor does not widen the daily limit.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 3,301 reviews. E8 Markets profile, rules.

FundingPips 2 Step Flex carries the widest static floor of any ranked $50K forex product here

Verdict: Third: 2 Step Flex’s $6,000 floor is the widest in this comparison, and it is explicitly stated to be untouched by floating losses, a clearer guarantee than most products here state outright.

Video: “FundingPips Pro is crafted for traders looking for a more affordable 2-Step Model,” FundingPips official YouTube channel, April 25, 2025. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: FundingPips’ own 2 Step model explainer is the closest official video to this product.

2 Step Flex lists at $299 for a $50,000 account, with a $6,000 static max loss (12% of $50,000, which the firm’s own rules confirm is an equity-or-balance breach basis): $299 / 6 = $49.83 per $1,000 of loss room. FundingPips also sells 1 Step Flex ($353, $6,000 floor, $58.83 per $1,000), 2 Step Standard ($349, $5,000 floor, $69.80 per $1,000), 2 Step Pro ($249, $3,000 floor, $83.00 per $1,000, the cheapest sticker but the most expensive per dollar of room) and FundingPips Zero, an instant no-evaluation product ($244, $2,500 trailing floor, $97.60 per $1,000).

A discretionary, non-declinable call-up to the firm’s Prime live program exists: per the firm’s own terms, if FundingPips elects to move a trader to Prime, that access is automatically accepted and the trader waives any right to refuse or contest it; a decliner does not keep the payable balance under any published alternative. This is the first watch-out on this product, not a reason to drop the ranking, per this guide’s standing rule that a call-up is a warning rather than a grade. A firm-wide VPN/VPS ban applies retroactively to every account.

  • Price at this size: $299 one-time for a $50,000 2 Step Flex account.
  • The rule that bites: A discretionary, non-declinable call-up can move the account to the firm’s live Prime program at any time; there is no published right to refuse it.
  • Choose it when: You want the widest static dollar floor among this guide’s ranked forex products and an explicit floating-loss guarantee.
  • Watch out for: A firm-wide VPN/VPS ban applies to every account type, confirmed applied retroactively to accounts opened before the rule was published.
  • Trustpilot: 4.5/5 on 69,734 reviews. FundingPips profile, rules.

Alpha Capital Group’s Alpha Pro 10% beats its own cheaper-looking Pro 6% once the floor, not the sticker, sets the price

Verdict: Fourth: Alpha Pro 10% costs $50 more upfront than this firm’s own Alpha Pro 6%, but its proportionally larger static floor makes it the cheaper product per $1,000 of loss room, the clearest example in this post of why sticker price alone misleads.

Video: “Skip the Evaluation. Keep 90%. Start from Day 1. ⚡,” Alpha Capital Group official YouTube channel, July 26, 2026. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Alpha Capital Group’s own Alpha Pro explainer is the closest official video to this product line.

Alpha Pro 10% lists at $267 for a $50,000 account (checkout total $213.60 with code ALPHA20, expiring October 31, 2026), with a $5,000 static max loss (10% of $50,000, fixed from the initial balance, never trails): $267 / 5 = $53.40 per $1,000 of loss room. The target is $5,000 (10%) in Phase 1 and $2,500 (5%) in Phase 2, with no minimum trading days and an 80% split rising to 90% with a paid add-on. Alpha Capital Group sells eight $50,000 variants in total: Alpha Pro 6% ($217, $3,000 floor, $72.33 per $1,000), Alpha Pro 8% ($297, $4,000 floor, $74.25 per $1,000), Alpha One 10% ($277, $5,000 floor, $55.40 per $1,000), Alpha One 12% ($347, $4,000 floor, $86.75 per $1,000), Alpha One 6% ($237, $2,000 floor, $118.50 per $1,000, the single worst variant on this metric), the Swing Plan ($357, $5,000 floor, $71.40 per $1,000) and Alpha Direct, an instant no-evaluation product ($257, $2,500 trailing floor, $102.80 per $1,000).

A 5% hard daily loss limit ($2,500 at this size), calculated on the higher of end-of-day balance or equity, ends the account on breach, a standard and disclosed forex 2-step rule. There is no reset product at any size on this firm’s ladder; a breach means a full-price second evaluation. Traders can be selected early for the firm’s discretionary Alpha Prime live program once they clear $40,000 in a single payout, five payouts from one account, or $100,000 in lifetime payouts; a decliner receives their final payable balance but forfeits any further relationship with the firm.

  • Price at this size: $267 list ($213.60 with code ALPHA20, expires October 31, 2026) for a $50,000 Alpha Pro 10% account.
  • The rule that bites: There is no reset product at any size; a breach means buying a brand-new evaluation at full price.
  • Choose it when: You want the firm’s own cheapest-per-$1,000 product and can accept a 5% hard daily loss limit calculated on equity.
  • Watch out for: This firm’s own Alpha Pro 6% has a lower sticker price but costs more per $1,000 of loss room; check the floor, not the price tag, before choosing between this firm’s own variants.
  • Trustpilot: rating hidden (“breach of our guidelines” banner), 21,810 reviews. Alpha Capital Group profile, payouts.

FundedNext’s Stellar Lite trades a tighter floor for a fee refund delayed to the third payout, not the first

Verdict: Fifth: Stellar Lite is this firm’s cheapest product per $1,000 of loss room, but its fee refund lands at the third payout, a full cycle later than the 2-Step product’s first-payout refund.

Video: “Resetting FundedNext Account | FundedNext Explained,” FundedNext official YouTube channel, January 9, 2024. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: FundedNext’s own Stellar account explainer is the closest official video to this product line.

Stellar Lite lists at $229.99 for a $50,000 account, with a $4,000 static max loss (the firm’s own wording: balance or equity cannot fall below 92% of the initial amount): $229.99 / 4 = $57.50 per $1,000 of loss room. This firm’s own Stellar 2-Step ($299.99, $5,000 floor, $59.998 per $1,000) and Stellar 1-Step ($329.99, $3,000 floor, $109.997 per $1,000) are both priced here too; Stellar Lite wins on the metric by a narrow margin over the 2-Step.

The fee refund timing differs sharply by product: Stellar 2-Step refunds its fee with the first Performance Reward, while Stellar Lite and Stellar 1-Step both defer that refund to the third Performance Reward, a meaningfully later payback than the 2-Step despite Stellar Lite’s lower sticker price. All three variants carry an equity-based daily loss limit that ends the challenge on breach, a standard and disclosed forex rule. There is no live call-up on FundedNext’s CFD line; the only live-adjacent path is an optional post-payout transfer to a sister broker, never a forced transition.

  • Price at this size: $229.99 one-time for a $50,000 Stellar Lite account.
  • The rule that bites: The evaluation fee is refunded only with the third Performance Reward, not the first, unlike this firm’s own Stellar 2-Step product.
  • Choose it when: You want this firm’s cheapest product per $1,000 of loss room and can wait until a third payout for the fee refund.
  • Watch out for: This firm’s Stellar 2-Step costs slightly more per $1,000 of loss room but refunds its fee with the first payout, a full cycle sooner than Stellar Lite.
  • Trustpilot: 4.5/5 on 80,702 reviews. FundedNext profile, rules.

Goat Funded Trader’s 2 Step GOAT is the only product on this firm’s $50K ladder with a static floor at every stage

Verdict: Sixth: 2 Step GOAT’s floor never trails at any stage, a distinction worth knowing on a ladder where every one of this firm’s other $50,000 products, including its three instant accounts, uses a trailing floor instead.

Video: “Goat Funded Trader Prop Firm Explained (full tutorial + real payout proof),” Goat Funded Trader official YouTube channel, November 16, 2025. Source type: vendor-produced. Why selected: Goat Funded Trader’s own 2-Step evaluation explainer is the closest official video to this product.

2 Step GOAT lists at $308 for a $50,000 account, with a $5,000 static max loss (10% of $50,000, identical at Step 1, Step 2 and the funded stage, never trailing equity): $308 / 5 = $61.60 per $1,000 of loss room, a fee-only figure because Goat Funded Trader publishes no activation fee, neither a figure nor an explicit $0. This firm’s 2 Step Standard ($358, $71.60 per $1,000) also has a static floor, but 1 Step GOAT ($314, $104.67 per $1,000) and every instant product this firm sells (Instant GOAT, Instant HERO, Instant Premium, Goat Blitz) all carry trailing floors that move up with equity including open positions and never move back down.

The first two payouts on 2 Step GOAT are capped at 6% of account size, or $3,000 on a $50,000 account, regardless of how much more profit has actually accrued. The evaluation fee is refunded in full, but only with the fourth payout, never the first. The firm’s own terms and conditions appear to conflict with themselves on whether any live-account transition exists at all on this CFD line.
