Blue Guardian Futures Rules: Drawdown, Consistency Rule and Scaling Plan for Every Account
Review the documented rules, source notes, tools, and account checks recorded for Blue Guardian Futures Rules: Drawdown, Consistency Rule and Scaling Plan for Every Account.
Rules can change: The firm or platform controls the current wording. Confirm the linked source and your dashboard before you trade or request a payout.
Blue Guardian Futures rules for the Standard, Reserve, Express and Direct accounts, with the rules that end accounts or hold up payouts first. Every current account uses an end-of-day (EOD) trailing drawdown that locks at the starting balance + $100, a 4:10 PM ET flat rule and a 7-day inactivity breach once funded. The daily loss limit, the consistency rule, contract limits and the payout gate change by model and by stage. Pick your model below, then use the dollar tables, the consistency and drawdown calculators and the worked examples before you trade.

What can trip you up
Rows To Inspect First
These rules change outcomes most often in Blue Guardian’s own wording. The labels explain why each row is surfaced; they are not a recommendation to buy or avoid any model.
Consistency flips by stage
Standard has no consistency rule in the Challenge but 40% on every funded payout cycle. Reserve and Express are the reverse: 40% or 50% in the Challenge, none once funded. Direct steps 20%, 25%, 30%.
Funded contract limits shrink
Reserve and Express Challenges trade full size, but the help centre starts funded accounts at 1 to 3 minis and unlocks more only as the end-of-day balance grows.
Seven days, not thirty
Funded accounts must place a trade every 7 calendar days or they are breached as inactive. Some third-party guides quote 30 days, which is the Challenge figure.
Blue Guardian Futures Rule Checks
| Rule area | Official-source snapshot | What to verify + evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum loss limit (drawdown) EOD trailing | All current models use an end-of-day trailing maximum loss limit. It rises with each new highest end-of-day closing balance, ignores open profit during the session, never moves down and stops trailing at the starting balance + $100. | The allowance differs by model: $1,000 to $5,000 on Standard, $1,000 to $4,500 on Reserve, $1,000 to $3,500 on funded Express and $1,500 to $4,500 on Direct. Check the exact figure for your size in the tables below. | Daily loss limit soft breach | Standard $1,000 / $2,000 / $3,000 (none on $25K); Reserve $600 / $1,200 / $1,700 / $3,000 or none (checkout choice); Express funded $500 / $1,000 / $1,250 / $1,750; Direct $1,000 / $1,250 / $2,500 / $3,000. Hitting it closes open trades and disables the account until the next trading day. | The daily limit counts balance or equity, so an open loss can trigger it. Express Challenge limits differ between the help article and the plan selector; see the conflicts table. | Consistency rule never a breach | Standard: none in the Challenge, 40% per funded payout cycle. Reserve: 40% or 50% in the Challenge only, with a 1% cushion on the 50% option. Express: 40% (selector also offers 50%) in the Challenge only. Direct: 20% for payout 1, 25% for payout 2, 30% from payout 3. | Breaking it only delays the pass or the payout until other days add enough profit. Use the calculator below to find the total profit you need. | Profit target 6% one phase | Standard, Reserve and Express Challenges all need 6%: $1,500 / $3,000 / $6,000 / $9,000. Direct has no Challenge but uses payout profit goals of the same size for the first payout. | There is no time limit and no minimum number of trading days. Passing still triggers a final review before the funded account is issued. | Trading hours and overnight 4:10 PM ET | The session runs 6:00 PM to 4:10 PM ET. Open trades are closed automatically at 4:10 PM ET and the help centre says that close does not breach the account. | No overnight or weekend holding on any model. | Micro-scalping under 10 seconds | Scalping is allowed. | Risk-to-reward and stops 5:1 maximum | A stop loss is not mandatory, but the maximum risk-to-reward is 5:1 (a $100 target allows at most a $500 stop), and using the drawdown limit as your stop is treated as gambling. | Breaking it can bring a warning or disqualification from payouts. Blue Guardian Futures Standard Rules
Standard is the only current model that can pass in a single day: it has no consistency rule in the Challenge. The trade-off is a 40% consistency rule on every funded payout cycle and a funded buffer you cannot withdraw. Contract limits stay the same from the Challenge to the funded account.
| Rule | $25K | $50K | $100K | $150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profit target (6%) | $1,500 | $3,000 | $6,000 | $9,000 |
| Max position | 1 mini / 10 micros | 4 / 40 | 8 / 80 | 12 / 120 |
| Daily loss limit (soft) | None | $1,000 | $2,000 | $3,000 |
| Max drawdown (EOD trailing) | $1,000 | $2,000 | $3,500 | $5,000 |
| EOD balance that stops trailing | $26,600 in the article (arithmetic gives $26,100) | $52,100 | $103,600 | $155,100 |
| Fixed floor once locked | $25,100 | $50,100 | $100,100 | $150,100 |
| Funded buffer (must stay in the account) | $1,600 | $2,100 | $3,600 | $5,100 |
| 1st payout cap | $1,500 | $2,500 | $3,000 | $4,000 |
| 2nd+ payout cap | $2,000 | $3,000 | $3,500 | $4,500 |
| Reset fee (fixed, no discounts) | $104 | $141 | $223 | $286 |
| Funded reactivation fee | $450 | $750 | $900 | $1,200 |
Worked example ($50K Standard, funded). You start the funded account at $50,000. Nothing is withdrawable until the balance is above $52,100 (the $2,100 buffer). At $54,000 you have $1,900 available ($54,000 – $52,100), under the $2,500 first-payout cap. If your best day in that cycle was $1,500, the 40% rule needs total cycle profit of at least $3,750 ($1,500 / 0.40), so $4,000 of profit clears both gates. Once the payout is approved, the drawdown floor locks at $50,100 for the life of the account.

Blue Guardian Futures Reserve Rules
Reserve is the configurable model. At checkout you choose a daily loss limit or none, and 40% or 50% Challenge consistency. The plan selector labels the 40% option “3 Day Pass” and the 50% option “2 Day Pass”, and marks the DLL version as lower-priced. Funded Reserve accounts have no consistency rule and no buffer, but each payout is limited to half of your profit and needs five winning days.
| Rule | $25K | $50K | $100K | $150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profit target (6%) | $1,500 | $3,000 | $6,000 | $9,000 |
| Challenge max position | 2 minis / 20 micros | 4 / 40 | 8 / 80 | 12 / 120 |
| Funded starting position (scaling article) | 1 / 10 | 2 / 20 | 3 / 30 | 3 / 30 |
| Daily loss limit option (soft) | $600 | $1,200 | $1,700 | $3,000 |
| Max drawdown (EOD trailing) | $1,000 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4,500 |
| EOD balance that stops trailing | $26,100 | $52,100 | $103,100 | $154,600 |
| Challenge consistency | 40% or 50% (+1% cushion) | 40% or 50% | 40% or 50% | 40% or 50% |
| Payout per request | 50% of profit, up to $1,000 | up to $2,000 | up to $2,500 | up to $3,000 |
| Winning day minimum (5 needed) | $100 | $150 | $200 | $250 |
| Net profit since last payout (payouts 2-5) | $500 | $750 | $1,000 | $1,250 |
The 1% cushion. On the 50% option your best day may be up to 51% of total profit. At exactly the $3,000 target on a $50K, that is a best day of $1,530 instead of $1,500. The cushion is a percentage, not a fixed dollar figure, so it grows with your total. The help article describes the cushion for the 50% rule only.
Net-profit rule. For Reserve accounts bought on or after July 27, 2026, payouts 2 to 5 also need net profit since the last approved payout: on a $50K, $900 of winning days and a $300 losing day is $600 net, short of the $750 required, so you keep trading. The payout amount is still 50% of total accumulated profit up to the cap. Accounts bought before July 27 keep their original rules.
Worked example ($50K Reserve, funded). With $3,000 of profit you may request $1,500; with $4,000, $2,000; with $5,000, still $2,000 because of the cap. Five days of at least $150 must come first. After the payout, the floor locks at $50,100, the winning-day count resets, and on a $52,000 balance you have $1,900 of room before the account is breached.

Blue Guardian Futures Express Rules
Express trades the Challenge at full size with a 40% consistency rule (the plan selector also sells a 50% “2 Day Pass” version), then switches to daily payouts with no consistency rule once funded. The funded account has a buffer, a minimum payout and a daily cap. Several Express limits changed for accounts bought on or after September 2; older Express accounts keep the limits that applied when they were bought.
| Rule | $25K | $50K | $100K | $150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profit target (6%) | $1,500 | $3,000 | $6,000 | $9,000 |
| Challenge max position | 1 mini / 10 micros | 4 / 40 | 8 / 80 | 12 / 120 |
| Funded starting position (scaling article) | 1 / 10 | 2 / 20 | 3 / 30 | 3 / 30 |
| Challenge daily loss limit: help article | None | $1,000 | $1,250 | $1,750 |
| Challenge daily loss limit: plan selector | None | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,250 |
| Funded daily loss limit (soft) | $500 | $1,000 | $1,250 | $1,750 |
| Challenge max drawdown: plan selector | $1,000 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4,500 |
| Max drawdown: help article / funded selector | $1,000 | $2,000 | $2,500 | $3,500 |
| Funded buffer (balance to exceed) | $1,100 ($26,100) | $2,100 ($52,100) | $2,600 ($102,600) | $3,600 ($153,600) |
| Minimum payout | $250 | $500 | $1,000 | $1,500 |
| Max daily payout | $600 | $1,100 | $1,500 | $2,500 |
| Reset fee (fixed) | $72 | $121 | $191 | $261 |
| Funded reactivation fee | $180 | $330 | $450 | $750 |
From payout 2 (accounts bought on or after September 2): you must make new profit of at least 50% of your previous payout before the next request. Withdraw $1,100 on a $50K and you need $550 of new profit first.
Worked example ($50K Express, funded). The balance must exceed $52,100. At $53,000 you have $900 above the buffer, which clears the $500 minimum and sits under the $1,100 daily cap, so you can request $900. At $52,400 you have only $300, below the $500 minimum, so no request is possible yet.

Blue Guardian Futures Direct (Instant Funding) Rules
Direct skips the Challenge: you sign the trader agreement and trade a funded account straight away, with full contract limits from day one and no buffer. Instead, each payout needs a profit goal and a consistency rule that loosens with each payout. The help article lists no reset or reactivation for Direct.
