Rules can change: The firm or platform controls the current wording. Confirm the linked source and your dashboard before you trade or request a payout.

Bitfunded rules for every account on sale: 2-Step, 1-Step, 1-Step Express, Instant Funding and the Day Trader Challenge. Bitfunded is a crypto prop firm that has run simulated trading challenges since 2023 on its own web platform, with 1x to 5x leverage, 100+ crypto pairs and about 20 traditional pairs such as gold, silver and Tesla. The headline numbers (profit target, daily loss, maximum loss) are only half the rulebook. The other half is a set of “Restricted Trading Practices” that are checked at payout review: holding-time limits, a margin concentration cap, a five-position limit, a minimum number of closed trades, stop-loss expectations and a ban on hedging, bots and copy trading. Breaking one of those does not end the account, but it can cut your payout by 50% to 70%. This page covers both halves, with dollar limits for every size, worked examples and calculators. Checked October 11, 2026 against Bitfunded’s user guide, FAQ, terms and home page.

Rows To Inspect First

The labels explain why each row is surfaced. They are not a recommendation to buy or avoid any account.

Open losses end accounts

Daily loss is closed losses for the day plus floating loss on open trades. A trade that dips through the limit and recovers has still breached it, and the account is disqualified automatically.

floating PnLhard breach

Swing holds are capped

Positions must be closed within 10 days on major coins, 7 days on other coins and 5 days on gold, silver and Tesla, counted in exact hours. Bitfunded’s own older blog posts still say there is no holding limit.

Payout penalties, not breaches

Restricted practices found at payout review cost 50% of the withdrawable share, and heavy margin concentration costs 50% to 70%. The account survives, but the payout shrinks.

Maximum daily loss
5% / 4% / 3%
2-Step 5% in both stages and funded, 1-Step 4%, 1-Step Express 3%, Instant Funding 3% in the user guide (4% in the FAQ). A fixed percentage of the starting balance. Formula: total realised loss of the day plus total floating loss of open positions.Profit made earlier in the same day adds room: the user guide example lets a trader who is 2,500 USDT up on a 100,000 account lose 7,500 USDT that day. Profit does not carry over midnight.

How Bitfunded Accounts Work

Every Bitfunded account is a simulated account on live market data. You pay an entry fee, trade simulated USDT on Bitfunded’s own web platform or its mobile app, and receive real USDT payouts from the Trader Stage. You cannot lose more than the fee.

  • 2-Step Challenge: Stage 1 (8% target), Stage 2 (5% target), then the Trader Stage at an 80% split. It has the most drawdown room and is the only account whose entry fee comes back (with the third payout).
  • 1-Step Challenge: one stage with a 10% target, then funded at 80%.
  • 1-Step Express: one stage with a 9% target and the tightest limits (3% daily, 3% overall), at the lowest fee, then funded at 80%.
  • Instant Funding: no evaluation. You start in the Trader Stage at a 60% split with extra payout rules.
  • Day Trader Challenge: a separate timed product on a 10,000 USDT demo account that pays a multiple of the entry fee if you hit a target within 1 to 8 hours.

Stage changes are automatic. When you hit the target, close every position. The user guide says the account moves to the next stage after 30 minutes, and the FAQ says Bitfunded creates the Stage 2 account for you. There is no verification call and no minimum day count.

You can buy as many challenges as you like, but only one funded account per account size can be active. If you pass two challenges of the same size, the FAQ says the second waits as “To Be Active” and moves up within 24 hours if the active one is disqualified.

Which daily loss applies to Instant Funding? The user guide stage table and the home page show 3%. The FAQ shows 4%. The FAQ itself says that when the two disagree, the user guide counts, so plan around 3% until Bitfunded corrects one of them. Checked October 11, 2026.

The table applies to the 2-Step, 1-Step and Express Trader Stages after you pass. The Trader Stage keeps the last stage’s daily and maximum loss, and the user guide warns that any breach there disqualifies the account and you must buy a new challenge. Bitfunded Dollar Limits by Account Size

All Bitfunded limits are fixed percentages of the starting balance, so they convert to fixed USDT amounts. These are the numbers to put in your trading plan. Fees are as listed on Bitfunded’s home page and user guide on the check date.

On Express the daily and overall limits are the same 3%. A single bad day that uses the full daily allowance also uses the full account allowance, so the account has no second chance once you lose 3% from the start, whether that happens in one day or over ten.

Which account gives the most room per dollar?

A useful way to compare Bitfunded’s own accounts is how many USDT of maximum loss each dollar of fee buys, against how far you must travel to get paid. At the 10,000 USDT Starter size:

AccountFeeMax loss roomRoom per $1 of feeProfit needed before fundedTarget as multiple of max loss
2-Step$991,000 USDT (Stage 1)10.1 USDT800 + 500 USDT0.8x then 0.6x
1-Step$149600 USDT4.0 USDT1,000 USDT1.7x
1-Step Express$49300 USDT6.1 USDT900 USDT3.0x
Instant Funding$449600 USDT1.3 USDTnone–

The 2-Step is the cheapest room and the only refundable fee, but it takes two passes. The 1-Step needs a 10% gain inside a 6% floor. Express is cheap to enter but asks for a 9% gain with only 3% of room, which suits traders who already have a tested, low-drawdown method; most will need more than one attempt. Instant Funding buys time and skips the evaluation, at a 60% split and a much higher fee.

How Bitfunded Drawdown Works

Bitfunded uses two loss limits, and both are static, balance-based and include floating losses:

  • Maximum daily loss = realised loss of the day + floating loss of open positions. The limit is a fixed percentage of the starting balance, not of the current balance or the previous day’s close.
  • Maximum loss = total realised loss + floating loss on open positions, measured against the starting balance for the whole life of the account, including the Trader Stage.

Both are checked continuously. The FAQ says that if equity breaches the limit at any moment, the account is disqualified automatically, and a daily loss breach also closes your open positions. There is no trailing drawdown at Bitfunded: making profit does not lift the floor, so a funded account that is well in profit has more room than the day it started.

Worked example: 2-Step Starter, 10,000 USDT

  • Daily loss limit 500 USDT. Maximum loss floor 9,000 USDT in Stage 1.
  • You close two losing trades for -300 USDT. You now have 200 USDT of daily room left, including any open trade.
  • You open a BTC long that goes 201 USDT into loss. Your daily loss is 300 + 201 = 501 USDT. The account is disqualified, even if BTC recovers a minute later.
  • Different day: you close +250 USDT in the morning. Your daily room is now 750 USDT (500 + 250), because profit made earlier the same day offsets losses, as in the user guide’s 100,000 USDT example.
  • You hold a position into the 00:00 UTC+8 reset with -400 USDT floating. The new day starts with that -400 USDT counting against it and yesterday’s profit gone, so you have only 100 USDT of room until it recovers.
Overnight trap. The user guide’s own example: a trader who made 2,000 USDT on the day and holds a 6,000 USDT floating loss is inside a 5,000 USDT daily limit (net 4,000 down). If that position stays open past midnight UTC+8, the profit no longer offsets it and the 6,000 USDT floating loss breaches the limit.
