TL;DR: FTMO Futures is the exchange-traded futures program of FTMO, the Prague prop firm that has sold CFD challenges since 2015. It launched as a beta at the end of August 2026 and on October 11, 2026 sold two products, Growth and Pro, each in $50K, $100K and $150K sizes. Both use a single-phase Evaluation billed as a monthly subscription ($119 to $229 a month for Growth, $139 to $269 for Pro), no activation fee, no time limit, an end-of-day trailing drawdown that locks at the starting balance, a 90/10 payout ratio and a hard rule to be flat by 4:10 p.m. ET every day. Growth is cheaper, has no daily loss limit in the Evaluation and only a soft one when funded, but lets you withdraw just 50% of your profit per request (caps $2,500 to $4,000, every 4 days). Pro has a hard daily loss limit in both phases in exchange for a 1:1 target-to-drawdown ratio on the $50K, 100% withdrawals and caps of $5,000 to $8,000 every 5 days. Trading runs on NinjaTrader, Tradovate or TradingView with 30 CME Group contracts. No discount code was published. The futures Trustpilot profile had only 10 reviews (3.8), so the product has a short public record; treat the subscription as money you can lose and size for the payout rules, not the account size.

Research status: Checked October 11, 2026 against FTMO’s Futures overview, comparison table, Trading Objectives and Rules page (every size of both products), How it works page, Forbidden Trading Practices page and the full FTMO Futures FAQ, plus Trustpilot, a Reddit thread and dated news coverage of the launch. Prices were read from FTMO’s public pages on that date and were not verified by purchase; the checkout sits behind a login. FTMO still labels Futures as “New”, so expect the rules to move; recheck the rules page before you pay.

FTMO Futures review verdict

FTMO Futures is a credible entry from a large, long-running firm, built on a simple structure: one Evaluation phase, one Sim-Funded phase, and an invitation-only live account. The rules are published in unusual detail, with a worked example for every limit and every size, and several of them are trader-friendly by current futures standards: the drawdown trails only on end-of-day balances and stops trailing for good once it reaches the starting balance, there is no consistency rule after you pass, news trading is allowed, and there is no activation fee after the Evaluation.

The trade-offs are the billing model and the payout gates. You pay every month until you pass, which rewards traders who pass quickly and punishes slow ones; several futures firms have moved to one-time fees, and FTMO has not. Growth looks cheap but only lets you withdraw half of your profit per request, and the 50% “new profit” rule means a payout always needs fresh gains in the current cycle. Pro removes the half-withdrawal limit and has the best published target-to-drawdown ratio in its range (1:1 on the $50K), but a single bad day ends the account through a hard daily loss limit, and FTMO itself warns that withdrawing 100% on Pro can breach the maximum drawdown.

The public track record is thin. The FTMO Futures Trustpilot profile had 10 reviews on October 11, 2026, with fast-payout reports alongside complaints about stop orders not syncing between TradingView and Tradovate. FTMO’s much larger 54,259-review Trustpilot profile describes the CFD business, not this product. BestProps does not give FTMO Futures a numeric score. If you buy, pick the product by how you lose money on a bad day (soft or hard daily limit), plan to pass inside one billing month, and leave a cushion above the drawdown floor when you request payouts.

Is FTMO Futures legit? Company, launch and account model

FTMO Futures is a real, operating product of an established firm: it has a working checkout at futures.ftmo.com, a dedicated rules page, a futures FAQ with about sixty articles, published payout methods and a US tax process. “Legit” here means a functioning business that sells what it describes. It does not mean the subscription is safe or that every payout will be approved; those depend on the rules below. Here is who you deal with, as FTMO’s own pages describe it.

When it launched. FX News Group and Finance Magnates both reported on August 31, 2026 that FTMO had launched FTMO Futures as a beta, with $50K to $150K accounts priced from $119 to $229 a month and up to $450,000 of simulated capital. Finance Magnates also noted that FTMO completed its acquisition of the broker OANDA in December 2025. FTMO’s own pages do not give a launch date, and the futures Trustpilot profile was claimed in August 2026, which fits that timeline. FTMO’s menu still marks Futures as “New”.

How the money works. Your subscription buys the Evaluation account, platform access and Level 1 market data. Once you pass, the subscription is cancelled and there is no activation fee or ongoing fee for the Sim-Funded Account. Payouts are governed by the FTMO Futures Sim-Funded Account Terms & Conditions you sign after KYC; FTMO says it does not act as a broker and does not accept deposits.

Is FTMO futures or forex?

Both, as two separate products under one login. FTMO’s original business is CFD trading (forex and other CFDs on platforms such as MT4, MT5 and cTrader) through the 1-Step and 2-Step FTMO Challenge. FTMO Futures is a different product: exchange-listed CME Group futures (Micro and E-mini contracts) traded on NinjaTrader, Tradovate or TradingView, with its own prices, rules, payout schedule and country list. FX futures such as 6E (Euro FX) and M6E (Micro EUR/USD) are available inside FTMO Futures, but they are futures contracts, not spot forex.

FTMO’s FAQ confirms you can use both products at the same time. FTMO Points cannot be used to pay for a Futures Evaluation, and the CFD Free Trial does not exist for Futures. If you want FTMO’s CFD challenge instead, see the FTMO review, which covers the CFD accounts only.

FTMO Futures account types: Growth vs Pro

Both products share the same single-phase path (Evaluation, then Sim-Funded, then an optional invitation to a Live Funded Account), the same profit targets, the same 90/10 payout ratio and the same three sizes. Everything else differs. Figures below are from FTMO’s comparison table and Trading Objectives and Rules page, read October 11, 2026.

Soft vs hard daily loss limit. A soft breach (Growth Sim-Funded) closes your positions and locks the account for the rest of that trading day; you trade again the next session. A hard breach (Pro, both phases) closes positions and fails the account. A Sim-Funded Account cannot be reset, so a hard breach there means buying a new Evaluation.

FTMO Futures pricing, resets and discount codes

FTMO Futures is a recurring monthly subscription, not a one-time fee. You are charged on purchase and on the same date each month until you pass; on a pass the subscription is cancelled and nothing more is charged for the Sim-Funded or Live account. If an Evaluation fails, you can buy a Reset (non-refundable, does not move your billing date) or keep the subscription and receive a fresh account on the next renewal date.

Size Growth monthly Growth reset Pro monthly Pro reset Growth fee per $1,000 of drawdown Pro fee per $1,000 of drawdown
$50K $119 $109 $139 $129 $59.50 $46.33
$100K $169 $159 $199 $189 $48.29 $44.22
$150K $229 $219 $269 $259 $45.80 $44.83

The last two columns divide the monthly fee by the maximum drawdown, a rough measure of how much loss room each dollar buys. Pro is the better buy by that measure at every size, most clearly at $50K, even though its sticker price is higher. Growth’s advantage is elsewhere: no daily loss limit while you are being evaluated, and a soft one once funded.

Discount codes and sales. On October 11, 2026 FTMO showed no discount code, coupon, banner or sale on the FTMO Futures overview, pricing table, comparison table or rules pages, and the futures FAQ does not mention any promotion. The checkout itself sits behind a login, so BestProps could not see whether a code field is offered there. Coupon sites may list codes for FTMO; BestProps could not confirm any of them with FTMO for the futures product, so none are printed here. See FTMO deals for what BestProps has confirmed on the CFD side.

Paying and cancelling. FTMO accepts debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Revolut Pay (Revolut not for US clients), all in US dollars with no payment fee. A Reset purchase requires 3D Secure. You can cancel the subscription at any time in the Client Area and keep access until the end of the paid period. If a renewal payment fails, access pauses immediately with your balance preserved, and you have a 48-hour grace period to pay before the account is closed. There is no Free Trial for Futures.

FTMO Futures challenge (Evaluation) rules

The FTMO Futures challenge is called the Evaluation. It is a single phase with no time limit and no minimum number of trading days beyond what the consistency rule forces. Accounts are assessed after the end of each trading day, which FTMO defines as 6:00 p.m. ET to 4:10 p.m. ET the next calendar day.

  • Profit target. $3,000, $6,000 or $9,000 above the starting balance, met on balance with all positions closed. On a $50K account that means a closed balance of $53,000.
  • Maximum drawdown (end-of-day trailing). Each morning the limit is set at the highest end-of-day balance so far (or the starting balance if higher) minus the drawdown amount. Your equity, including open trades and commissions, must never touch it intraday. The limit only rises, and once it reaches the starting balance it locks there. On a Growth 50K: day one limit $48,000; after a $51,000 close it is $49,000; after a $52,500 close it would be $50,500, so it locks at $50,000 instead.
  • Daily loss limit. Growth has none in the Evaluation. Pro has a hard limit of $1,000, $1,500 or $2,000 measured from the balance at the start of each trading day. Unlike the drawdown, the daily limit moves down as well as up with the starting balance.
  • Consistency rule. Your best day (highest closed profit in one trading day) may be at most 40% (Growth) or 50% (Pro) of total Evaluation profit. Breaking it is not a breach; you simply keep trading until the share falls. Required total profit = best day ÷ 0.40 (Growth) or ÷ 0.50 (Pro).
  • Max contracts. 5, 10 or 15 minis at once across all instruments, with ten micros counting as one mini, so a 50K allows 50 micros or a mix such as 4 minis plus 10 micros. The platform rejects orders above the limit.
  • Flat by 4:10 p.m. ET. No position or resting order (including stop and bracket orders) may stay open past 4:10 p.m. ET or an earlier market close. The platform liquidates leftovers, but FTMO says not to rely on that.

After you pass. The account closes at 4:10 p.m. ET on the passing day and the subscription ends. FTMO reviews the trades, which it says typically takes 1 to 3 business days. You then complete FTMO Identity (KYC, usually under one business day) and sign the Sim-Funded Account Terms & Conditions, and the Sim-Funded Account is created at the same size. It is not possible to skip the Evaluation using an outside track record.

Sim-Funded Account rules and contract scaling

On the Sim-Funded Account there is no profit target and no consistency rule. The drawdown amounts stay the same as in the Evaluation and trail on end-of-day balances, locking permanently at the starting balance for the life of the account. Growth switches to a soft daily loss limit ($1,000, $2,000 or $3,000); Pro keeps a hard one ($1,000, $1,500 or $2,000) that terminates the account.

Contract scaling. You start the Sim-Funded Account with fewer contracts than you had in the Evaluation, and the limit rises with your end-of-day profit above the starting balance. It also falls again if the balance drops back. The same ladder applies to Growth and Pro.

End-of-day profit above start 50K max minis (micros) 100K max minis (micros) 150K max minis (micros)
$0 to $999 2 (20) 4 (40) 6 (60)
$1,000 to $1,999 3 (30) 5 (50) 8 (80)
$2,000 to $2,999 5 (50) 8 (80) 10 (100)
$3,000 to $4,499 5 (50) 10 (100) 12 (120)
$4,500 and above 5 (50) 10 (100) 15 (150)

FTMO’s example: a 50K account that closes at $53,000 trades 5 contracts from the next session, and if it closes back at $50,000 it returns to 2 contracts the session after. Plan your first funded week around 2, 4 or 6 minis, not the Evaluation size.

Inactivity. A Sim-Funded Account with no trading for 30 consecutive calendar days is closed. There is no inactivity rule on a Live Funded Account. Accounts cannot be merged.

Rules that apply to every account

These apply in every phase of both products. The full text is on FTMO’s Forbidden Trading Practices page; breaches can lead to trade removal, account termination, forfeited payouts or a permanent ban.

Topic FTMO Futures rule
Overnight and weekend holding Not allowed. Flat, with all orders cancelled, by 4:10 p.m. ET or the earlier market close every day. The session reopens at 6:00 p.m. ET.
News trading Allowed in all phases with no special restrictions, but concentrating trading around scheduled events in a way that differs from your normal activity is listed as a risk-management problem.
Algorithms and bots Automated trading is allowed. High-frequency strategies, latency arbitrage and anything that exploits the simulator are banned, and the platform has API limits on order rates. Using a third-party bot risks a refusal because others may run the same strategy.
Copy trading Copying between your own accounts is allowed if each account follows every rule on its own. Copying anyone else’s trades (signals, trade copiers, master accounts) is banned.
Hedging Opposite or offsetting positions across accounts (yours, other people’s, other FTMO Group accounts or other firms) are banned. Opposite positions on a single account are allowed.
CME price limits No new positions when price is within 2% of the CME daily price limit. For most equity index futures the first limit is 7%, so new positions stop once price is more than 5% from the prior settlement.
Stop-loss Not required, but relying on the platform’s drawdown liquidation as your only exit is banned.
Consistency of behaviour Position sizes far out of line with your normal trading, and trading the Sim-Funded Account materially differently from the Evaluation, are flagged.
Travel and VPN Allowed, provided you do not live in a restricted country and keep sole control of your account.
Exchange conduct CME rules apply: spoofing, layering, wash trading and other manipulation are banned.

FTMO Futures payouts

Payouts come only from the Sim-Funded (and Live Funded) Account. Each request has to clear five separate gates, and the smallest one decides what you can take.

  1. Qualifying days. Growth needs 4 trading days in the payout cycle with closed end-of-day profit of at least $150, $250 or $300 (50K, 100K, 150K). Pro needs 5 days of at least $200, $300 or $500. A day below the threshold does not count.
  2. Withdrawable share. Growth can request up to 50% of the profit above the starting balance; Pro up to 100%.
  3. New-profit rule. At least half of what you request must be profit made in the current cycle. With $2,000 carried over and $400 of new profit, the most you can request is $800.
  4. Payout cap per request. Growth $2,500, $3,000 or $4,000; Pro $5,000, $6,000 or $8,000.
  5. Payout ratio. You receive 90% of the approved request. Minimum payout is $20.

Frequency. Growth can request every 4 days and Pro every 5 days, once the qualifying days for the cycle are met.

How a request works. Confirming a request in the Client Area closes all your open positions and pending orders and shows a calculator with the available amount. The amount is deducted from the account balance and waits for FTMO’s approval, and you can keep trading in the meantime. Once approved, you confirm the payout invoice. FTMO does not publish a processing-time target for futures payouts; Trustpilot reviewers in September and October 2026 reported approval within two hours and a wire arriving within 12 hours, which are individual reports, not a policy.

Methods. Wise, Revolut bank wire, and instant withdrawals through Visa Direct and Mastercard Send (Mastercard Send not for US clients). Payouts are in US dollars.

US traders. You need a valid US tax ID such as an SSN, a completed IRS Form W-9 before the first payout, and proof that you own the US bank account receiving the money. FTMO only accepts fully licensed banks for US payouts; Wise, Chime and other fintech or digital-only institutions are not accepted. You are responsible for your own taxes.

For FTMO’s CFD payout rules, which are different, see FTMO payouts.

Worked examples: cost, consistency, drawdown and payouts

1. What the Evaluation really costs

Scenario (50K) Growth Pro
Pass inside the first billing month $119 $139
Pass in the second month $238 $278
Fail twice in month one, reset both times, pass $119 + $109 + $109 = $337 $139 + $129 + $129 = $397
Fail once, wait for renewal instead of resetting, pass in month two $238 $278

A reset only saves money if it gets you trading again sooner and you then pass before the next renewal; it does not move the billing date, so a reset bought a few days before renewal is mostly wasted.

2. The consistency rule in numbers

Account Best day Total profit needed to pass Why
Growth 50K ($3,000 target) $1,200 or less $3,000 $1,200 is exactly 40% of $3,000
Growth 50K $1,500 $3,750 $1,500 ÷ 0.40
Growth 50K $2,000 $5,000 FTMO’s own example
Pro 50K ($3,000 target) $1,500 or less $3,000 $1,500 is 50% of $3,000; two $1,500 days pass in 2 days
Pro 50K $2,000 $4,000 $2,000 ÷ 0.50
Pro 100K ($6,000 target) $5,000 $10,000 FTMO’s own example

The rule is measured on closed daily profit, so a big first day is not fatal; it just raises the finish line. If your style produces one large day a week, Pro’s 50% is far easier to live with than Growth’s 40%. BestProps’ consistency rule calculator runs the same arithmetic.

3. When the drawdown stops trailing

Account Starting limit End-of-day balance that locks the limit Locked limit
Growth 50K $48,000 $52,000 $50,000
Pro 50K $47,000 $53,000 $50,000
Growth 100K $96,500 $103,500 $100,000
Pro 100K $95,500 $104,500 $100,000
Growth 150K $145,000 $155,000 $150,000
Pro 150K $144,000 $156,000 $150,000

Before the lock, every new end-of-day high drags the limit up behind it; intraday highs do not count. After the lock, the starting balance is your floor for the rest of that account’s life, which matters for the payout examples below.

4. First payout on a Growth 50K

Suppose you have 4 qualifying days of at least $150 and your profit above $50,000 is $3,000. You may request 50% = $1,500 (under the $2,500 cap, and all of it is new profit in the first cycle). You receive 90% = $1,350, and $1,500 of profit stays in the account. To request the full $2,500 cap you need $5,000 of profit, and you then receive $2,250. In the next cycle at least half of any request must be fresh profit, so with $1,500 carried over and $600 of new profit the most you can request is $1,050 (the 50% share of $2,100), and with only $400 of new profit it is $800.

5. The Pro full-withdrawal trap

Pro lets you request 100% of profit, but FTMO’s withdrawal FAQ warns that a full withdrawal can violate the maximum drawdown. Here is why. A Pro 50K that has closed a day at $53,000 or more has its limit locked at $50,000. With the balance at $54,000, requesting the full $4,000 would put the balance on $50,000, which is the limit itself, and touching the limit is a breach. Requesting $3,000 instead pays you $2,700 and leaves the balance at $51,000, $1,000 above the floor, which is also the size of the hard daily loss limit. FTMO does not publish exactly how the trailing limit is recalculated after a payout, so leave a cushion of at least one bad day above it.

6. Trading costs on a typical day

FTMO charges a simulated commission of $0.50 per side on minis and $0.20 per side on micros, plus exchange and NFA fees that FTMO does not reprint because they change. Ten round trips of one MNQ cost $4.00 in FTMO commission before exchange fees; ten round trips of one NQ cost $10.00. All costs count against equity for the drawdown and daily limits, so a scalper should add them to every risk calculation.

Max accounts and max allocation

There is no limit on how many Evaluations you run at once; each has its own subscription. You can hold up to three Sim-Funded Accounts at the same time, shared across Growth and Pro, and FTMO sets no separate capital cap, so the practical maximum is three $150K accounts, or $450,000 of simulated capital. Opening extra registrations to get around the limit is banned, and accounts cannot be merged.

The Live Funded Account

The Live Funded Account is the third step and it is not something you can buy or apply for. FTMO’s Trading Department may invite a small number of consistent Sim-Funded traders with a record of approved payouts. On a live account:

  • You first clear a one-time buffer on the account before the first payout. FTMO does not publish the buffer amount.
  • After that, you can request payouts daily, with no payout cap, at the same 90/10 ratio.
  • The only trading objective left is the maximum drawdown, and there is no inactivity rule.
  • A market data fee applies; FTMO says it covers one exchange for you.
  • Residents of 35 countries cannot receive a live account even though they can trade Sim-Funded and receive payouts (list in the restricted-countries section).

FTMO Futures platforms, data, commissions and instruments

Platform How you connect Notes
NinjaTrader Log in with the FTMO credentials from the Client Area, choose Simulation mode Accept the CME non-professional attestation on first login
Tradovate Same credentials, Simulation mode FTMO’s futures environment is built on NinjaTrader/Tradovate infrastructure
TradingView Open Trade in TradingView, choose Tradovate, pick Demo, log in with the FTMO Tradovate credentials, choose Simulation Any TradingView registration can be used

All three platforms are available automatically with one shared login, and you can switch at any time. Level 1 market data (best bid and ask) is included in the subscription. Level 2 data (depth of market) cannot be bought on the platform while logged in with FTMO credentials, which matters for order-flow and DOM traders. Most traders qualify as non-professional data users; FTMO links the NinjaTrader and Tradovate guidance if you are unsure. One Trustpilot reviewer in October 2026 reported stops and targets not syncing between TradingView and Tradovate during fast moves; if you execute from TradingView, test your order handling on the Evaluation first.
