ICT’s 4 February 2025 SMC Forex Review examines DXY, EUR/USD and GBP/USD over 20 minutes 36 seconds, framing DXY as conditionally bearish below the weekly wick midpoint at 110.143 and EUR/USD and GBP/USD as bullish through inversion fair value gaps. The DXY thesis expects a retest of consequent encroachment, movement through the lower quadrant or 25 level, displacement lower and rejection from a bearish daily order block termed a propulsion block, while a close above 110.143 sidelines the outlook. For EUR/USD, candle bodies failing to close at or below an inversion gap’s lower quadrant are treated as bullish evidence, with 15-minute and 5-minute examples using London open, New York open, London close, kill zones, bullish breakers and Silver Bullet windows. For GBP/USD, the institutional order flow entry drill treats price continuing without reaching halfway into the gap as strength, with relative equal highs presented as the nearer low-hanging-fruit objective and a claimed Telegram call at eight forty five a.m. New York time remaining unverified. ICT says relative equal lows formed sell-side liquidity before a New York open sweep and later continuation, and demonstrates taking the 50 percent midpoint between liquidity pools as an intermediate target, shown at 1.2455. He calls forex price action extremely sloppy, offers no high-conviction targets, entries, fills, stops, contract counts or account results, describes the material as not trade advice, and the article notes that chart values, session-window edge and the Telegram claim were not independently verified.

Primary source: 2025 Lecture Series – SMC Forex Review 02/04/2025, The Inner Circle Trader. The video’s own watch page records the upload at 4 February 2025 16:27 Pacific (early 5 February UTC), a runtime of 1,236 seconds, and playability status OK.
This article reviews the recording from an automatic audio transcription of its full length, so ICT’s terminology and the numbers he reads from his charts are reported as he says them, not as verified data. It is educational commentary on one trader’s chart reading. It is not investment advice, not official material about any firm’s rules, and not evidence that the framework produces results.
ICT 2025 SMC Forex Review Overview
ICT opens by dating the session: “today is Tuesday, February the 4th, 2025,” and says the video is a forex review (0:32, 0:39). He also explains that this is a second take because his microphone had been muted during the first attempt, and he jokes about how long his older forex reviews used to run (0:50, 1:01).
He uses the published title's "SMC" label, but the vocabulary he actually applies on screen is his own price-delivery array language (fair value gaps, inversion fair value gaps, order blocks, breaker blocks, liquidity pools and consequential midpoints). Throughout, he is narrating annotations he has already drawn, so the recording shows his interpretation rather than a mechanical rule set.
ICT 2025 DXY Bearish Outlook

The review begins on the weekly Dollar Index chart (1:15). ICT points to a candle wick and explains that when price trades below that wick it becomes a premium array. He treats wicks like gaps and reads the wick’s midpoint as consequent encroachment, which he gives as 110.143 (1:46).
He then flags a fair value gap he wants to see behave as a potential inversion fair value gap. His stated conditions are specific and worth writing down as he gives them (2:02):
- Price trades below the gap, then comes back up into it.
- Price does not trade back into the upper half once it has left. Wicking into it is acceptable, but candle bodies holding in the upper half would suggest the inversion is invalid.
- He wants a displacement lower afterwards as confirmation.
He adds a practical note: record the time frame on which the pattern forms, because the lower time frame then supplies the next bearish fair value gap to act on (2:56). On the daily chart he identifies three discount areas converging near the same region (a sell-side low, a fair value gap and an order block) (3:28).
He also states the limits of his own participation. ICT says he does not swing trade under current market conditions and describes himself as predominantly a day trader whose main market is index futures; the forex work here is higher-time-frame analysis rather than a swing position (3:46, 4:00).
What Invalidates the ICT Dollar Outlook
ICT names the invalidation plainly at 4:52: a close back above the consequent encroachment of that weekly wick would put these ideas on the sideline for the near term. That is a pre-stated condition, which is the most transferable habit in the segment.
On the daily chart he then walks through the sequence he expects (5:08): trade up into the consequent encroachment of the wick, then the lower quadrant, which he calls the 25 level, then displace lower and return into a bearish daily order block. He describes that order block as a propulsion block because of the imbalances inside it, and notes that price traded into it without exceeding its midpoint before rejecting (5:31, 5:42).
His summary of the dollar case is deliberately hedged: he expects the weekly gap to act as an inversion fair value gap and to attack minor sell-side liquidity, and he says plainly that he “might be wrong” (6:41).
ICT 2025 EUR USD Reversal Setup
ICT moves to EUR/USD on the hourly chart and says the expectations are the opposite of the dollar index, so he skips the higher time frames (7:06). Before annotating, he asks viewers to pause and test their own read of the chart (7:23).
The key structure is the imbalance he labels as sell-side imbalance, buy-side inefficiency (transcribed in several places in this recording as variants that sound like "SIBI"). He defines it in plain terms: a large single candle whose range is not shared by the candle before or after it (7:55). Because his working bias is bullish for the pair, he expects this normally bearish imbalance to act as an inversion fair value gap and support price (8:09).
He divides the range with a Fibonacci tool into the low, lower quadrant, midpoint and upper quadrant, and shades what he expects to reverse its role in orange (8:32). The observation he emphasises most is behavioural rather than geometric: price traded down into the gap, and candle bodies could not close at or below the lower quadrant, which he reads as strong bullish evidence (9:14).
ICT Qualifications for the EUR USD Setup
This section carries the recording's clearest caveats. ICT says that if there were a sustained price run the dollar index could visit that area, then immediately qualifies it. He is not saying it will (9:45). He calls the forex price action "extremely sloppy" at the time of speaking, says he is not giving these targets with high-level conviction, and states that his views are his opinion and "not trade advice" (explicitly not encouragement to take trades on the information) (9:56, 10:07). He points to geopolitics and trade wars as background and warns that the market is extremely volatile (10:18). Those are his attributions about conditions; the recording presents no data establishing what moved any market.
ICT 2025 Forex Sessions and Intraday Examples
Dropping to the 15-minute and then 5-minute charts, ICT walks through the day in the sequence he reads it (10:28): the session’s start around midnight, a trade down into a fair value gap, a rally to consequent encroachment, a small gap, a return into another gap and a bullish breaker, then a touch of the upper quadrant of the inversion fair value gap before price moved higher (11:03).
The session framework he applies is his own timing vocabulary:
- London open At 11:28 he marks the London open kill zone, describing a retracement into an imbalance that he calls a London open long or a London open Silver Bullet.
- New York open At 12:40 he follows price into the top of the bullish breaker during the New York open kill zone.
- London close He ends the sequence with the move running into the London close (13:03).
These names, and the idea that a clock window carries meaning by itself, are features of ICT’s framework. Nothing in the recording demonstrates that a window produces an outcome, and no exact clock times are stated here.
ICT 2025 GBP USD Price Objective
The pound-dollar section starts on the hourly chart with the same opposite-to-the-dollar framing, and ICT again asks viewers to pause and test themselves first (13:11, 13:18). He marks a buy-side liquidity pool, minor buy-side liquidity at relative equal highs, and the same imbalance pattern he applied to the euro, this time expecting it to act as a bullish inversion fair value gap (13:45).
He also describes an entry condition he calls the institutional order flow entry drill, which he explains as price not even trading halfway into the gap before continuing. He reads that failure to reach the midpoint as strength rather than as a missed opportunity (13:59). Later he notes a rejection block, which he defines as the lowest down-close candle's closing price (14:28).
The practical question he poses is the useful part: if you expect higher prices but do not want to demand the most distant liquidity, what is the easiest objective? His answer is the relative equal highs sitting in front of price (what he calls the low-hanging fruit) (15:08).
The ICT 8 45 Telegram Reference
ICT says he highlighted exactly that objective in his Telegram commentary at 8:45 a.m. New York local time on 4 February 2025, describing it as the only forex commentary he gave that day (15:33, 15:50). That message is not part of this recording and was not available to this review, so the claim is reported as his statement only. He says the move later reached the relative equal highs he attributes to Monday’s 4:00 highs (16:40, 16:53).
He then corrects an on-screen label, noting that one annotation should read 15 minutes rather than 5 minutes (a reminder that the visible time-frame captions in the recording are hand-written) (16:57). He walks the same structure down to the 5-minute chart, where relative equal lows during the London open kill zone create a minor sell-side liquidity pool that is later cleared during the New York open, followed by a run into the 10 o'clock window he calls a Silver Bullet (17:43, 18:31). He notes that the retracement stopped at consequent encroachment before the move continued into the London close (18:40).
ICT 2025 Forex Liquidity Pool Midpoint
The final teaching point is about objectives that sit inside a range rather than at its far edge. ICT says every liquidity pool has its own midpoint, which he describes as an algorithmic level, and shows how to anchor a Fibonacci tool from one pool's high to the next level and take the 50% as an intermediate target, in this example 1.2455, which he calls a buy-side liquidity pool (19:02, 19:24).
He is explicit that this level is not anchored to anything else and sits between two pools. His broader argument is that a trader does not need depth-of-market ladders or order-book displays to work inside a range, and can learn to trade without requiring price to leave it (19:40, 20:02). That is his opinion about what a trader needs. It is not a claim this review can test, and no such test appears in the recording.
Limits of the ICT 2025 Forex Review
Read carefully, the review is rich in framework and thin in evidence:
- No trade record. The recording contains no entries, fills, stop sizes, contract counts or account results for the 4 February session. The chart narratives are his reading of price after the fact.
- No verified chart values. The figures he speaks, 110.143 and 1.2455 among them, are values he reads from his own annotated charts. The transcription cannot confirm the chart geometry behind them.
- Session windows are definitions, not findings. Terms such as kill zone and Silver Bullet are presented as parts of his method. Nothing here shows they carry an edge.
- The Telegram claim is unverified here. The 8:45 a.m. message is his report; it was not available for this review.
- His own description carries a performance disclaimer. The video’s watch page description begins with a government-required risk disclaimer referencing CFTC Rule 4.41 on hypothetical or simulated performance results. That disclaimer is on the source material, not on this article.[3]
Use the recording’s own watch page rather than a reposted or reuploaded copy if you want to check any of it, because the annotations and time-frame labels are part of the lesson.
How to Review ICT 2025 Forex Setups
The card below is this article’s own study template, not an ICT rule set. Nothing in it is attributed to the recording, and it exists so that a review like this produces notes you can check later rather than impressions you cannot.
- Write down the stated context. Record what the speaker says about conditions before recording what he expects, including his own qualifications such as “extremely sloppy” price action.
- Take neutral notes on the structures. Note each imbalance or block with the time frame it was drawn on, without deciding in advance whether it worked.
- Separate hindsight from what was knowable. Mark which parts of the explanation describe conditions visible in real time and which were only identified after price had moved.
- Define invalidation as a condition, not a feeling. In this recording the dollar idea had one: a close back above the wick’s midpoint.
- Weigh account constraints before the chart. Risk limits and firm rules belong in the plan, not in a reaction to a setup that looks convincing.
- Track samples, not anecdotes. One session that played out as narrated says nothing about the next one; collect a series and record the failures alongside it.
- Practise in simulation first. If you want to study the framework, rehearse it without risking capital and compare the results with your written notes.
