OFP Funding Rules: Drawdown, Consistency Rule, Scaling Plan and Banned Strategies
Review the documented rules, source notes, tools, and account checks recorded for OFP Funding Rules: Drawdown, Consistency Rule, Scaling Plan and Banned Strategies.
Rules can change: The firm or platform controls the current wording. Confirm the linked source and your dashboard before you trade or request a payout.
OFP Funding rules for the three instant accounts on sale today, Instant Lite, Instant Classic and Instant Plus, in every size from $5,000 to $300,000. OFP Funding sells simulated “instant” accounts: there is no challenge to pass, you trade virtual capital from the first day and request rewards (OFP’s word for payouts) once the model’s conditions are met. The rules that decide most outcomes are the daily loss limit measured from the previous day’s closing equity, the static overall loss limit, the 1% floating-loss rule on Lite, the Inconsistency Score on Classic, the 4-minute news window and a long list of banned strategies that OFP checks when you ask to be paid. This page sets out each rule with dollar values for every size and option, worked examples, two calculators, the scaling plan (which pays back part of your fee rather than growing the account), and the places where OFP’s own pages disagree.

What can trip you up
Rows To Inspect First
The labels explain why each row is surfaced. They are not a recommendation to buy or avoid any account.
Losses are checked on equity, not just closed trades
Both loss limits are measured on equity, so an open trade that dips through the line fails the account even if it would have recovered.
Lite has a 1% floating-loss rule
On Instant Lite your open trades together may not show a loss of more than 1% of the balance. The rules page calls it a soft rule that resets the balance; the Terms say the account is closed.
Payouts are reviewed for strategy
OFP pays only “when a real trading strategy is present”. Lot sizes far above your usual size, losers bigger than most winners, more than two same-direction trades or very short trades can lead to a denied reward.
OFP Funding Rule Checks
| Rule area | Official-source snapshot | What to verify + evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum daily loss 3% or 5% | Equity may not fall below the previous day’s closing equity minus 3% or 5% (your checkout choice). Equity is recorded at midnight GMT+2 (GMT+3 in summer) and the limit resets then. Touching the line at any moment closes the account. | On a fresh $100,000 account that is $3,000 or $5,000 on day one. After a winning day the dollar amount grows with your equity; after a losing day it shrinks. Source: OFP Trading Rules page (Instant Lite, Instant Classic and Instant Plus tabs) and OFP What is the Daily Drawdown (help centre, updated March 2, 2026) – section 1 Maximum Daily Loss – checked October 11, 2026. |
| Maximum overall loss static floor | Equity may never fall below the starting balance minus 5% or 10% (Lite and Plus) or 6% or 10% (Classic). The rules page calls it a hard limit that “never changes”. | Two help articles and the Terms measure it from the balance at your last reward instead. Before your first reward both readings give the same floor. | 1% maximum risk limit Instant Lite only | Floating PnL across open positions may not go below -1% of the balance: -$500 on a $50,000 Lite account. The rules page calls it a soft rule; a breach resets the account balance rather than closing it. | The Terms (section 6.2.1) say a breach closes the account. The help comparison table lists the rule as Lite only. Source: OFP Trading Rules page (Instant Lite, Instant Classic and Instant Plus tabs) and OFP Do you have a maximum risk rule? | Inconsistency Score Classic: under 20% | Best day’s closed profit divided by the total of your profitable days, times 100. Losing days count as zero. Measured from account creation or your last approved reward. A score at or above the limit blocks the reward; it never closes the account. | The limit is 20 in OFP’s plan data and the Terms use 20% as the example. Lite and Plus have no consistency rule. Source: OFP Trading Rules page (Instant Lite, Instant Classic and Instant Plus tabs) and OFP Consistency Score / Consistency rule (help centre, updated September 23, 2026) and OFP Terms and Conditions (version valid from February 9, 2026) – Classic tab section 3, Terms 6.2.4 – checked October 11, 2026. |
| Profit target and days Lite: 5% in 5 days+ | Lite: 5% profit target, at least 5 trading days, one reward, account ends after 30 days. Classic: no target, no minimum days, first reward 14 calendar days after the first trade. Plus: no target, 5 minimum trading days, first reward after 14 days. | The homepage and help centre give Lite a 28-day duration; the rules page says 30 calendar days. Plan for 28. | Minimum withdrawal 5% (help centre) | The help centre says the minimum profit that can be withdrawn is 5%, for all models. The rules page says OFP “does not impose a minimum withdrawal amount”. | Assume the 5% minimum until your dashboard shows otherwise. On a $50,000 account that is $2,500 of profit. Source: OFP Minimum Withdrawal Policy (help centre, updated September 23, 2026) and OFP Trading Rules page (Instant Lite, Instant Classic and Instant Plus tabs) – Minimum Withdrawal Policy and Withdrawal Limits – checked October 11, 2026. |
| News window payout denied | News trading is allowed, but no new trades from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after a high-impact release. Straddling (opposite orders before a release) is banned. | The penalty is denial of that cycle’s payout, not closure. The help article phrases it as avoiding trading in the window, which is wider than “opening”. Source: OFP Trading Rules page (Instant Lite, Instant Classic and Instant Plus tabs) and OFP Can I trade during news events? (help centre, updated October 1, 2025) – News Straddling – checked October 11, 2026. |
| Hedging, martingale, copy trading account closed | Hedging or martingale across accounts (including your own) closes the account permanently. Copying trades between OFP accounts or from outside, arbitrage, HFT and public third-party EAs mean immediate closure. | The help centre also bans AI bots, grid systems and third-party account management, and caps same-direction trades at 2 per asset. Source: OFP Trading Rules page (Instant Lite, Instant Classic and Instant Plus tabs) and OFP Which strategies are not allowed (help centre, updated May 20, 2026) – Prohibited Trading Strategies – checked October 11, 2026. |
| Gambling and lot-size review reward can be denied | For accounts bought before May 21 (year not stated), OFP treats as gambling: lots over 3.5 times your most-used size on a pair, no clear strategy, and a biggest loser larger than most winners. Result: payout denied for the month or account closed. | The Terms ban “substantially larger position sizes” for every account, so keep lot sizes steady regardless of purchase date. Source: OFP Which strategies are not allowed (help centre, updated May 20, 2026) and OFP Terms and Conditions (version valid from February 9, 2026) – Gambling and Schedule B – checked October 11, 2026. |
| Trade duration guideline | Trades opened and closed in under about one minute may be flagged automatically as HFT. OFP recommends keeping most positions open for at least a minute. | OFP calls this “not a fixed threshold, but a preventive guideline”. Source: OFP Which strategies are not allowed (help centre, updated May 20, 2026) – High-Frequency Trading / AI Bots – checked October 11, 2026. |
| Scaling plan 25% of the fee back | If an account makes 20% total profit by the end of three months, OFP pays a 25% return on the initial deposit (the account fee). The account size does not grow. | Instant Lite ends after 30 days, so it cannot reach a three-month mark even though the rule appears on its tab. Source: OFP Trading Rules page (Instant Lite, Instant Classic and Instant Plus tabs) – Scaling Plan – checked October 11, 2026. |
| Inactivity and account limits 28 days | No trade for 28 consecutive days suspends the account (the help centre and Terms say closed). Login details may not be changed. Accounts cannot be merged and the total you can hold is capped. | The cap is $300,000 on the rules page and $400,000 across all instant accounts in the help centre. Source: OFP Trading Rules page (Instant Lite, Instant Classic and Instant Plus tabs) and OFP Trading Inactivity Days (help centre, updated October 3, 2025) and OFP Account models (help centre, updated October 9, 2026) – Inactivity, Account Credentials, Accounts Merging – checked October 11, 2026. |
How OFP Funding Accounts Work
OFP Funding (OFP stands for Overview Funding Program) sells only instant accounts today. The challenge and older instant plans (One Phase, Two Phase, Instant Pro and Instant Prime) are no longer in the plan selector, although the Terms still list them in their plan schedule.
- What you buy: a demo account with virtual capital and fixed rules. You pay once; there is no monthly fee. Credentials arrive by email straight after purchase.
- What you trade: forex, metals, indices, energies and crypto CFDs on OFP’s own platform (Sirix, with TradingView charting), on the web at my.ofpfunding.net or the mobile apps.
- How you get paid: profits on the demo account are paid as “rewards” once the model’s conditions are met, after identity checks (KYC), a payout form and a self-billing invoice.
- What ends the account: touching the daily or overall loss limit, a closure-level strategy breach, 28 days without a trade, or (Lite) reaching the end of its 30-day life or its one reward.

OFP Funding Daily Drawdown (Maximum Daily Loss)
OFP’s daily limit is not a fixed dollar amount. Each day it is recalculated from the equity recorded at the end of the previous day, at midnight GMT+2 (GMT+3 while daylight saving applies), and it counts open trades:
Daily floor = previous day’s closing equity – (previous day’s closing equity x daily %)
- It breaches intraday. If equity touches or drops below the floor at any moment, the account fails immediately. You do not get to the end of the day.
- It moves with your equity. A good day raises tomorrow’s dollar allowance and a bad day lowers it. Open positions at midnight are included in the recorded equity.
- You choose 3% or 5% at checkout and cannot change it later. The 5% option costs more.
- It can never be looser than the overall limit. OFP says the daily limit “cannot, under any circumstances, exceed the Max Overall Loss limit”: whichever floor is higher is the one that ends the account.
| Size | Classic / Plus 3% (day one) | Classic / Plus 5% (day one) | Lite 3% | Lite 5% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5K | $150 | $250 | – | $250 |
| 10K | $300 | $500 | $300 | $500 |
| 25K | $750 | $1,250 | $750 | $1,250 |
| 50K | $1,500 | $2,500 | $1,500 | $2,500 |
| 100K | $3,000 | $5,000 | $3,000 | $5,000 |
| 200K | $6,000 | $10,000 | $6,000 | $10,000 |
| 300K | $9,000 | $15,000 | $9,000 | $15,000 |
The table shows the dollar limit on the first day, when closing equity equals the starting balance. Lite is not sold in a $5,000 size.
Worked example: $100,000 Classic, 5% / 10%
| Day | Equity recorded at the previous midnight | Daily floor | Overall floor | Floor that applies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $100,000 | $95,000 | $90,000 | $95,000 (daily) |
| 2 | $102,000 | $102,000 – $5,100 = $96,900 | $90,000 | $96,900 (daily) |
| 3 | $97,500 | $97,500 – $4,875 = $92,625 | $90,000 | $92,625 (daily) |
| 4 | $93,000 | $93,000 – $4,650 = $88,350 | $90,000 | $90,000 (overall, because the daily figure would be looser) |
On day 4 only $3,000 of room is left, not $4,650. After a run of losing days, the overall floor is the one to watch.

OFP Funding Maximum Overall Loss
The overall limit is static: it is set from the starting balance and, according to the Trading Rules page, “never changes”. It does not trail your profits. Equity, including open trades, may never touch it.
| Size | Lite 5% floor | Classic 6% floor | Plus 5% floor | All models 10% floor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5K | – | $4,700 | $4,750 | $4,500 |
| 10K | $9,500 | $9,400 | $9,500 | $9,000 |
| 25K | $23,750 | $23,500 | $23,750 | $22,500 |
| 50K | $47,500 | $47,000 | $47,500 | $45,000 |
| 100K | $95,000 | $94,000 | $95,000 | $90,000 |
| 200K | $190,000 | $188,000 | $190,000 | $180,000 |
| 300K | $285,000 | $282,000 | $285,000 | $270,000 |
- Static means profit is a cushion. On a $50,000 account with a 10% limit, the floor stays at $45,000. Make $3,000 and you have $8,000 of room, not $5,000.
- Is the drawdown trailing? Not on the Trading Rules page. The daily limit moves day to day, but the overall floor stays fixed.
- After a reward: the help centre and the Terms measure the limit from the balance “at the last Reward”. If your balance returns to the starting balance after a withdrawal, the floor is the same either way. If profit stays in the account, the floor may be re-set higher. OFP does not show a worked example for this case.
- A breach is final. OFP’s help article says “once breached, the account is permanently invalid, even if markets later recover”.

The 1% Rule on Instant Lite
Instant Lite adds a “maximum 1% risk limit”: the combined floating PnL of your open positions may not go below -1% of the account balance at any time. Classic and Plus do not have it.
