TL;DR: Legends Trading (The Legends Trading Group, Inc., Calabasas, California) is a futures prop firm with two plans on sale: Apprentice, a monthly evaluation with an activation fee when you pass, and Elite, a one-time-fee evaluation with no activation fee. Both use an end-of-day trailing drawdown and no daily loss limit during the evaluation. Under the help-centre rules updated in January 2026, the Apprentice 50K needs $3,000 profit in as little as one day, while the Elite 50K needs $2,700 with no day above 40% of profit. Funded (Master) accounts are simulated: payouts go through Rise at a 90/10 split, but each request is capped ($1,200 on an Apprentice 50K, $2,000 on an Elite 50K) and needs 7 or 5 winning days first. On October 11, 2026 the homepage showed an “80% off Apprentice and 45% off Elite” banner with code LTG, a list price of $185 a month for the Apprentice 50K and $149 one-time for the Elite 50K. Several homepage claims disagree with the firm’s own help centre, which we list below. Trustpilot shows 3.8 from 227 reviews, with 26% one-star. Refunds are not offered.
Research status: Checked October 11, 2026. That day we read the Legends Trading homepage, plans, about, contact and terms pages, all 86 public articles in its help centre (knowledge.thelegendstrading.com), its Trustpilot profile, the Reddit threads we could find, and the US Treasury sanctions page its country rule points to. We did not buy an account. Plan prices shown inside the dashboard need a registered login, so prices and fees here are “read from the firm’s public pages on October 11, 2026; not verified by purchase”.
Legends Trading review verdict: is Legends Trading legit?
Legends Trading is a real, identifiable business. Its terms name The Legends Trading Group, Inc. as the owner and operator, the site lists a street address in Calabasas, California, it publishes a detailed help centre with dated rule articles, and traders on Trustpilot and Reddit describe receiving payouts through Rise. That answers the basic “is Legends Trading legit” question: it is an operating company that sells evaluations and pays some traders.
What it does well:
- No daily loss limit in either evaluation, and an end-of-day (EOD) trailing drawdown rather than one that trails every tick.
- The Apprentice evaluation has no consistency rule and no minimum days beyond one, so a trader can pass in a single session.
- The Elite plan is a one-time fee with no activation fee, and its list prices ($99 to $230) are low for futures evaluations.
- Payout requests have no calendar window. Once the conditions are met you can ask any day.
- A choice of Tradovate (with NinjaTrader and TradingView) or Rithmic (with R|Trader, a free ATAS licence and other screens).
What to weigh before paying:
- Payouts are small relative to the account. The Apprentice 50K caps each request at $1,200 (you receive $1,080), and every later request needs $2,000 of new profit, so part of each cycle’s profit stays in the simulated account.
- Apprentice Master accounts need 7 winning days of at least $200 for every payout, and a best day under 35% of profit. Days under $200 do not count.
- The homepage and the help centre contradict each other on several points: Apprentice specs and activation fees, the size of the Elite discount, whether there is a daily loss limit, when you move to a live account, and support hours.
- Hedging and “exposure” rules are strict and apply across all of your accounts, and Reddit and Trustpilot complaints about closed accounts mostly involve them.
- All fees are non-refundable, and cancelling a subscription deletes the account immediately.
Our view: Legends is a cheap way to sit a futures evaluation, especially on the Elite plan, but the funded stage is built for slow, steady withdrawals of a few hundred to a few thousand dollars per cycle. Read the payout section before you decide whether that suits how you trade.
What is Legends Trading and who owns it
Legends Trading sells simulated futures evaluations. You pay for an evaluation account, trade it to a profit target, then move to a simulated “Master” account where you can request payouts. Traders who keep getting paid can be moved to a live account with a clearing broker. The help centre describes the business as “a Sim to Fund / Evaluation service” and says its goal is to identify traders “for potential further investment in either by Legends directly or another funding partner”.
Who owns Legends Trading? The terms of service say the site “is owned and operated by The Legends Trading Group, Inc.” and that the agreement has been in effect since February 20, 2023. The footer gives 5755 Las Virgenes Rd., Suite D, Calabasas, CA 91302, and the support address is support@thelegendstrading.com. Legends’ own pages do not name a founder. A third-party review names Greg Khojikian, the head of the futures broker GFF Brokers, as founder; we could not confirm that on a Legends page. GFF Brokers, which describes itself as an NFA member and CFTC registered, lists the same building (Suite C), and the homepage says Legends is “the first in the industry with a solid foundation in futures brokerage”. The help centre also says successful traders “may be introduced to World Cup Advisor.com” for its leader-follower auto-trade program.
Name confusion. Three unrelated businesses use similar names. The prop firm is at thelegendstrading.com. The site legendstrading.com belongs to LegendsTrading LLC, a $149-a-month signals and mentorship chat. “Legend Trading” (legendtrading.com) is a separate company with its own Trustpilot page, and legend.trade is another firm again. Reviews and promo codes for those businesses do not apply to Legends Trading.
How Legends works: evaluation, Master account, live account
- Register and choose a plan. You sign up on the dashboard, verify your email, then pick a plan type (Apprentice or Elite), a size and a data connection: Tradovate (NinjaTrader, Tradovate and TradingView) or Rithmic (R|Trader and third-party screens). The help centre warns that “plan types, plan sizes and data connections CANNOT be changed after purchase”.
- Sign the data agreements. Inside the dashboard you sign the Tradovate or Rithmic user agreement and the CME market data agreement. The CME level 1 bundle is included.
- Pass the evaluation. Hit the profit target without touching the EOD trailing drawdown or exceeding the contract limit. Apprentice has no consistency rule and a one-day minimum. Elite needs 40% consistency.
- Activate the Master account. Apprentice traders pay a one-time activation fee ($99 to $149 per the help centre) and activate the Master account from the Accounts page. Elite traders move to an Elite Master account without a fee.
- Build profit and request payouts. Meet the payout target, winning-day count and consistency rule, then request through the dashboard. Payouts are paid through Rise.
- Move to live, if selected. After 5 payouts across accounts, 3 in one account, or $30,000 in simulated payouts, you can be considered for a live account. All simulated accounts are forfeited when you go live.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| No daily loss limit in either evaluation | Elite Master accounts do have a daily loss limit ($700 to $3,000), despite the homepage headline |
| EOD trailing drawdown, not intraday | Apprentice is billed every 30 days until you pass or cancel |
| Apprentice can be passed in one day with no consistency rule | Apprentice payouts need 7 winning days of $200 or more each |
| Elite is a one-time fee with no activation fee | Payout caps per request are low: $800 to $3,500 depending on plan and size |
| No payout window; request when eligible | Profit above the cap stays in the simulated account |
| Tier-1 news trading allowed on Elite | Tier-1 news is banned 2 minutes either side on Apprentice Master accounts |
| Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView and Rithmic supported | NinjaTrader and Bookmap do not work on the Rithmic connection |
| Up to 10 evaluations and 5 Master accounts | Strict cross-account hedging and exposure rules |
| Dated, detailed public help centre | Homepage and help centre disagree on prices, fees and rules |
| Payouts through Rise, which also handles tax forms | No refunds, and a cancelled subscription deletes the account |
Legends Trading account types and pricing
Legends lists three tabs on its plans page: Apprentice, Elite and Straight to Master. The help centre marks Straight to Master as a legacy account “not currently available for purchase”, so in practice Apprentice and Elite are the two plans. Prices below are the list prices on the homepage on October 11, 2026, with the price the cards showed after code LTG.
Apprentice (monthly) under the current help-centre rules
The help centre’s “Apprentice Plan Update” (dated January 26, 2026) replaced the old Apprentice with a simpler one: EOD tracking only, no daily loss limit, no evaluation consistency, no minimum evaluation period and three sizes.
| Apprentice rule | 50K | 100K | 150K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profit target | $3,000 | $6,000 | $9,000 |
| EOD trailing max loss | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4,500 |
| Daily loss limit | None | None | None |
| Consistency in evaluation | None | None | None |
| Minimum trading days | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| Max position | 2 minis / 20 micros | 4 minis / 40 micros | 6 minis / 60 micros |
| Activation fee on passing (help centre) | $99 | $129 | $149 |
| Homepage list price, per month | $185 | $225 | $320 |
| Homepage price with LTG | $37 | $45 | $64 |
Important: the homepage Apprentice cards still show the older specs (a 25K size, 4 to 17 contracts, a 30% consistency rule, 4 minimum days, and activation fees of $99, $99, $149 and $199). Those match the help centre’s article headed “LEGACY – Apprentice Evaluation Account”, not the January 2026 rules. Because the cards are out of date on the rules, we cannot be sure their prices match what the dashboard charges today. Third-party listings quote lower monthly Apprentice prices that we could not confirm with Legends. Check the price on the checkout screen before paying.
Elite (one-time fee)
| Elite rule | 25K | 50K | 100K | 150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profit target | $1,500 | $2,700 | $6,000 | $9,000 |
| EOD trailing drawdown | $1,250 | $2,200 | $3,000 | $4,500 |
| Daily loss limit (evaluation) | None | None | None | None |
| Consistency (evaluation) | 40% | 40% | 40% | 40% |
| Max contracts | 2 minis / 20 micros | 4 minis / 40 micros | 8 minis / 80 micros | 12 minis / 120 micros |
| Activation fee | None | None | None | None |
| Homepage list price, one time | $99 | $149 | $180 | $230 |
| Homepage price with LTG | $64.35 | $96.85 | $117 | $149.50 |
The Elite homepage cards match the Elite help-centre articles exactly. The Elite help centre says the one-time fee covers everything: “No activation, reset, or hidden charges.”
Straight to Master (legacy)
The homepage still shows a third tab, Straight to Master, at $399 to $699 one-time ($239.40 to $419.40 with LTG), with 30% consistency and 10 minimum days. The help centre’s January 25, 2026 article says it is “a legacy account type that is not currently available for purchase” and that resets are not available for it. If the tab lets you check out, ask support in writing which rules will apply before paying.
Apprentice or Elite: which plan suits which trader
| Question | Apprentice | Elite |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Every 30 days, plus activation fee on passing | Once |
| Fastest possible pass | 1 day, no consistency rule | Needs 40% consistency, so at least 3 profitable days in practice |
| 50K drawdown | $2,000 | $2,200 |
| 50K contract limit | 2 minis / 20 micros | 4 minis / 40 micros |
| Funded daily loss limit | None | Yes: $700 to $3,000 by size |
| Funded news trading | Banned 2 min either side of Tier-1 releases | Allowed |
| Payout conditions | 7 winning days of $200+, 35% consistency, fixed targets | 5 winning days ($100 to $250 by size), 40% consistency, profit above a buffer |
| 50K payout cap | $1,200 | $2,000 |
| Scaling | None | Contract limit grows with profit |
What passing really costs: worked examples
These use the homepage prices from October 11, 2026. The site does not say whether the LTG price applies only to the first 30 days of an Apprentice subscription or to renewals too, so we show both cases. Market data beyond the included CME level 1 bundle, and any third-party platform licence, are extra.
| Scenario | Calculation | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Apprentice 50K, pass in month 1, with LTG | $37 + $99 activation | $136 |
| Apprentice 50K, pass in month 1, no code | $185 + $99 activation | $284 |
| Apprentice 50K, pass in month 3, code on first month only | $37 + $185 + $185 + $99 | $506 |
| Apprentice 150K, pass in month 1, with LTG | $64 + $149 activation (help centre) or $199 (homepage) | $213 or $263 |
| Elite 50K, with LTG | $96.85 once | $96.85 |
| Elite 50K, failed twice, third attempt passes, with LTG each time | 3 x $96.85 | $290.55 |
A failed Apprentice account is reset free at the next renewal, or you can buy a reset in the dashboard straight away (the reset price is not published on public pages). The Elite help centre says Elite has no reset charge; in practice a failed Elite means buying a new Elite.
Compare the cost with what the first payout can return. On an Apprentice 50K the first request is capped at $1,200, of which you receive $1,080. On an Elite 50K, profit has to clear a $1,500 buffer before anything is withdrawable.
Legends discount code LTG and the current sale
On October 11, 2026 every Legends page carried the banner “80% off Apprentice & 45% OFF ELITE, code: LTG”, with a countdown that read 00 days, 00 hours, 00 minutes, so no end date was visible. The plan cards applied the code as follows:
- Apprentice: 80% off the monthly price ($185 to $37 on the 50K).
- Elite: 35% off the one-time price ($149 to $96.85 on the 50K), not the 45% the banner says.
- Straight to Master: 40% off ($499 to $299.40 on the 50K).
Rules Legends publishes about codes:
- A coupon must be entered at checkout. “If you forget to use a coupon, we cannot adjust or change the product, or the amount charged.”
- You can sign up during a promotion and start trading later; the help centre says that does not affect billing or minimum days.
- The activation fee is charged separately when you pass. One October 2026 Trustpilot reviewer says a promotional activation price was not honoured after passing, and Legends replied that promotions cannot be applied retroactively. Check whether a promotion covers the activation fee before you buy.
Coupon sites and influencers list other Legends codes. We only reprint codes Legends itself publishes, and LTG was the only one on its site that day. Earlier sales mentioned by traders on Reddit (80% and 90% off) could not be checked against a dated Legends announcement, so we do not treat them as a pattern.
The end-of-day trailing drawdown, with a worked example
Every Legends account uses an end-of-day trailing max loss. Legends says it calculates “your Max Drawdown at the end of each trading day”. The floor moves up when your account closes the day at a new high, and never moves down. Legends’ pages do not say whether an intraday dip below the floor fails the account before the close, so plan as if the floor is live all session.
Worked example, Apprentice 50K evaluation ($2,000 EOD trailing):
| Day | Intraday high | Closing balance | Floor for the next day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Start | – | $50,000 | $48,000 |
| 1 | $51,500 | $51,200 | $49,200 |
| 2 | $52,400 | $50,900 | $49,200 (no new closing high) |
| 3 | $53,100 | $53,050 | $51,050, target passed |
Day 2 shows why EOD trailing is kinder than intraday trailing: the $52,400 high during the session does not raise the floor because the day closed lower.
On a Master account the trail stops. The help centre says the EOD trailing drawdown on an Apprentice Master stops “at starting balance plus $100”. On a 50K that is $50,100, reached once a day closes at $52,100 or higher. After that the floor stays at $50,100. Elite Master accounts use a buffer instead (see payouts).
Trading rules: news, closing times, hedging and automation
News trading
- Evaluations: no restriction is published for Apprentice. Elite says Tier-1 news trading is allowed.
- Apprentice Master: “Tier-1 news trading is prohibited. Accounts may not trade 2 minutes before and 2 minutes after Tier 1 news releases.”
- Elite Master: Tier-1 news trading is allowed, and “profits from high-impact events are eligible for payout”.
Trading hours, closing times and overnight holds
You may trade from the market open to one minute before the close, and there are no blackout days. Positions must be flat before the end-of-day liquidation time: 3:55 pm CT for equity index, energy, metals, interest-rate and currency futures, 1:15 pm CT for CBOT grains and 12:50 pm CT for livestock. A trader who does not close in time “will be failed”. Overnight and swing holding is not allowed on simulated accounts; on live accounts it is unlocked only at the top “Custom” tier.
Products
Legends trades CME Group futures (CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX). CBOT financials (Treasury futures) are disabled “until further notice”, and the Elite help centre says bonds are “strictly prohibited”. There is no forex, CFD or crypto product. Reddit has an example of a trader failed for trading an expiring gold contract (December gold) close to rollover, so trade the front liquid month and roll before the old contract thins out.
Hedging, exposure and prohibited conduct
- Hedging means opposite positions in the same or related products held for at least 10 seconds, in one account or across accounts. Legends’ examples include long NQ against short MNQ, long NQ against short ES, long YM against short ES, and long silver against short gold.
- Exposure counts micros as a fraction of a mini. On an Apprentice 50K (2 minis or 20 micros) the factor is 20 / 2 = 10, so 2 NQ plus 1 MNQ is 2 + 1/10 = 2.1 minis, which is over the limit even though the platform allowed the order.
- Also prohibited: flipping (in-and-out trades within seconds), tight brackets or auto-breakeven used to exploit simulated fills, hundreds of rapid trades, spoofing, trading for someone else and getting around geographic restrictions.
- Penalties range from a warning to deleting the trading day, resetting the account or closing it permanently, decided case by case.
Bots, automation and copy trading
Legends does not publish a rule that bans automated strategies, and its about page advertises “Automated Trading” and a “Visual automation builder” on its platform. The help centre says you can manage multiple accounts with the same login. But the hedging rule applies across every account on your profile, and live accounts can be closed for “unapproved trading methodologies”. If you plan to run a bot or copy trades across accounts, get written approval from support first.
Inactivity and account limits
- Master and Elite accounts are deactivated after 20 trading days or 30 calendar days without a trade, whichever comes first.
- Live accounts need a trade at least every 10 trading days.
- You can hold up to 10 Apprentice evaluations and 5 Master accounts “without further review”. The homepage says you can “trade up to $1,500,000 on multiple accounts”, which equals ten 150K evaluations.
The 35% and 40% consistency rules, with a calculator table
Legends uses two consistency rules:
- Apprentice Master, 35%: your best day must be less than 35% of total profit for the payout period. The FAQ adds that if your best day is too big you simply keep trading until it falls below 35%.
- Elite evaluation and Elite Master, 40%: no single day can be more than 40% of total profit. In the evaluation, hitting the target with an oversized day means you keep trading until the rule is met.
To find the total profit you need for a given best day, divide the best day by the percentage:
| Your best day | Total profit needed at 35% (Apprentice Master) | Total profit needed at 40% (Elite) |
|---|---|---|
| $500 | more than $1,428.57 | $1,250 |
| $800 | more than $2,285.71 | $2,000 |
| $1,050 | more than $3,000 | $2,625 |
| $1,080 | more than $3,085.71 | $2,700 |
| $1,500 | more than $4,285.71 | $3,750 |
| $2,000 | more than $5,714.29 | $5,000 |
| $4,000 | more than $11,428.57 | $10,000 |
Two examples from Legends’ own help centre: on an Elite 50K evaluation the $2,700 target means no day above $1,080; and on an Elite 100K Master a $4,000 day forces total profit up to $10,000.01 before the cycle qualifies. On an Apprentice 50K Master, a $3,000 first-payout target with a best day of $1,050 or less keeps you inside 35%.
The Apprentice evaluation itself has no consistency rule. A Reddit commenter in December 2025 said an account was breached for passing in one day; that describes the older Apprentice, which had a 30% rule and four minimum days. Under the January 2026 rules a one-day pass is allowed.
Legends payouts: targets, caps, winning days and Rise
Apprentice Master payouts
| Apprentice Master rule | 50K | 100K | 150K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profit needed before first payout | $3,000 | $5,000 | $7,500 |
| New profit needed for each later payout | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4,500 |
| Maximum per payout | $1,200 | $2,000 | $2,500 |
| You receive at 90% | $1,080 | $1,800 | $2,250 |
| Minimum request | $1,000 | $1,000 | $1,000 |
| Winning days per payout | 7 days of $200+ | 7 days of $200+ | 7 days of $200+ |
| Consistency | 35% | 35% | 35% |
| Max position | 2 minis / 20 micros | 4 minis / 40 micros | 6 minis / 60 micros |
Worked example, Apprentice 50K Master. You start at $50,000. Over 9 sessions you make $3,000, with 7 of those days at $200 or more and a best day of $900 (30% of $3,000). You can request up to $1,200; at the 90/10 split you receive $1,080 and Legends keeps $120. The account drops to $51,800, and because it closed at $52,100 or higher earlier, the floor is locked at $50,100, leaving $1,700 of room. For the second payout you need another $2,000 of new profit (to about $53,800) and 7 new winning days, and you can again take $1,200. In each later cycle $800 of the $2,000 stays in the simulated account. It is not lost while the account survives, but you can only reach it through later capped payouts.
A Trustpilot reviewer in October 2026 argued this makes the real split closer to 50/50. Legends replied that “the 90/10 split refers to the split of an approved payout and is separate from the profit targets and maximum payout amounts”. Both are true: you keep 90% of each approved payout, but you have to earn more than you can withdraw per cycle.
Elite Master payouts
| Elite Master rule | 25K | 50K | 100K | 150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buffer (profit to clear first) | $1,000 | $1,500 | $3,000 | $3,500 |
| EOD trailing drawdown | $1,250 | $2,200 | $3,000 | $4,500 |
| Daily loss limit | $700 | $1,200 | $2,000 | $3,000 |
| Max payout per cycle | $800 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $3,500 |
| Minimum withdrawal | $500 | $500 | $500 | $500 |
| Winning day threshold | $100+ | $150+ | $200+ | $250+ |
| Winning days per payout | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| Consistency | 40% | 40% | 40% | 40% |
Only profit above the buffer can be withdrawn. Legends’ example: an Elite 50K trader with $2,100 total profit has $600 above the $1,500 buffer and can request $600, within the $2,000 cap. Because the minimum withdrawal is $500, a 50K account needs at least $2,000 profit to make a first request. Hitting the Elite Master daily loss limit liquidates your positions for the day, and the account unlocks the next session. Caps “do not scale upward with each cycle”.
The Elite Master contract limit also starts lower than the evaluation and grows with profit. On a 50K: 2 minis (20 micros) up to $1,000 profit, 3 minis up to $2,000, then 4 minis above $2,000. On a 150K it runs from 3 minis to 12 minis above $3,000.
How and when you get paid
- When you can ask: “Traders can request payouts anytime during the month – there is no payout window!” The homepage separately says “up to twice per month”. With 7 (Apprentice) or 5 (Elite) winning days needed per payout, the winning-day count is what actually limits frequency.
- Method: payouts are sent through Rise. When a Master account first becomes eligible you get a Rise onboarding invite, and Rise runs its own checks and prepares tax documents.
- Processing time: the January 2026 update promises “faster processing (no 10-day wait)” but gives no number of days for simulated accounts. For live accounts the FAQ says funds are “processed within 1-5 days”. Trustpilot reviewers who were paid describe Rise payments arriving promptly after accepting the Rise invite.
- Review: each request “is processed after verification of consistency, drawdown, and buffer conditions”, and prohibited-conduct findings can delete days or close the account.
The live program and the Roll-Back program
The homepage says “Join live funded after 2nd payout”. The help centre’s live program articles (December 2025 to January 2026) set different criteria. You become eligible for consideration after:
- 5 payouts in total across your simulated Master accounts, or
- 3 payouts from a single account, or
- $30,000 or more in simulated payouts since your last live transition,
- or earlier, at the Risk Management Desk’s discretion.
| Initial live funding | 25K | 50K | 100K | 150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| From an Apprentice Master | $1,500 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4,000 |
| From an Elite Master | $2,000 | $2,500 | $3,500 | $5,000 |
