A verification-first snapshot of what is supported, what remains unclear, and what to check before paying.

Reviewed October 11, 2026

ThinkCapital DealWatch: As of October 11, 2026, the ThinkCapital promo code the firm itself publishes is WELCOME20: 20% off your first challenge, listed as an ongoing offer on ThinkCapital's own promo-code page (updated October 7, 2026) and linked from a banner on its homepage. In ThinkCapital's checkout on October 11, 2026 it took 20% off every $2.5K to $50K account BestProps tried, in all five programs, but it was rejected on every $100K account. A second code, QUIZ20, sits behind the "Buy Now" button of the trader quiz on thinkcapital.com. Despite its name it took 15% off, and it worked on every size, $100K included. Example: a $50K Dual Step Intraday challenge drops from $299 to $239 with WELCOME20 or $254 with QUIZ20. Codes also cut add-ons. ThinkCapital also runs a free 14-day trial with no card required. Every figure here was read from ThinkCapital's own site, help centre, terms and checkout on October 11, 2026; BestProps did not complete a purchase.

Source check: Codes were read from ThinkCapital's homepage and promo-code page on October 11, 2026. Each code was then typed into the coupon field of ThinkCapital's checkout for one account at a time, with a fresh cart each time, and the order summary was read before sign-in. A made-up code and three expired codes returned "Failed to apply coupon", so the checkout does validate codes. BestProps did not create an account, enter payment details or complete a purchase.

Lightning and Dual Step Intraday share the same prices; Dual Step Swing costs about 40% more because it allows news trading and weekend holding. Bolt is the only program with a $2.5K size. Fees are paid once per account.

From ThinkCapital's program pages and help centre on October 11, 2026. Dual Step Intraday bans news trading and weekend holding; Swing allows both. Lightning and Nexus ban news trading unless you buy the news add-on. On Bolt, ThinkCapital's Bolt rules require 6% profit before the first payout only, and its October 5 update keeps a 20% consistency rule while dropping the old five-profitable-days requirement. The base split is 80%; the 90% figure in ThinkCapital's headline needs the paid add-on.

Worked Examples: What a ThinkCapital Account Really Costs

These use the list prices and checkout behaviour seen on October 11, 2026. Refunds are shown separately because they depend on how you trade.

ScenarioCalculationTotal
$50K Dual Step Intraday with WELCOME20$299 minus 20% ($60)$239
Same account plus the 90% Profit Split add-on($299 + $75) minus 20% ($75)$299
$100K Lightning, first challengeWELCOME20 rejected, so QUIZ20: $499 minus 15% ($75)$424
Two $50K Lightning accounts instead (first with WELCOME20, second with QUIZ20)$239 + $254$493
$50K Bolt with QUIZ20 plus the 90% split($479 + $120) minus 15% ($90)$509
$50K Bolt with WELCOME20, compared with the old list price$479 minus 20% ($96); the same account listed at $599 before October 5$383
$25K Nexus with WELCOME20$139 minus 20% ($28)$111
Fee coming back on a $50K Intraday bought with WELCOME20$239 paid, returned with the 3rd payout, less a possible $20 processing feeUp to $239

Two things stand out. A single $100K account with QUIZ20 is cheaper than two $50K accounts with the best codes available, so the $100K exclusion matters less than it first looks. And the 90% split add-on almost wipes out WELCOME20: the 50K Intraday with the add-on and the code costs the same $299 as the account alone at list price.

Which Discounted Account Gives the Most Room per Dollar

The maximum loss limit is how far the account can fall before it fails. Dividing the discounted price by that amount shows what you pay for each $1,000 of room. Prices use WELCOME20 up to $50K and QUIZ20 at $100K.

AccountDiscounted priceMax loss limitCost per $1,000 of room
Lightning (one step) $25K$1596% = $1,500$106
Lightning (one step) $50K$2396% = $3,000$79.67
Lightning (one step) $100K$424 (QUIZ20)6% = $6,000$70.67
Dual Step Intraday $25K$1597% = $1,750$90.86
Dual Step Intraday $50K$2397% = $3,500$68.29
Dual Step Intraday $100K$424 (QUIZ20)7% = $7,000$60.57
Dual Step Swing $25K$2227% = $1,750$126.86
Dual Step Swing $50K$3347% = $3,500$95.43
Dual Step Swing $100K$593 (QUIZ20)7% = $7,000$84.71
Nexus (three step) $25K$1118% = $2,000$55.50
Nexus (three step) $50K$1598% = $4,000$39.75
Nexus (three step) $100K$297 (QUIZ20)8% = $8,000$37.12
Bolt Instant Funding $25K$2236% = $1,500$148.67
Bolt Instant Funding $50K$3836% = $3,000$127.67
Bolt Instant Funding $100K$764 (QUIZ20)6% = $6,000$127.33

Nexus is the cheapest per dollar of room at every size: it has the widest limit (8%) and the lowest price, but you must pass three phases. Lightning and Dual Step Intraday cost the same, and Intraday gives one point more room for an extra phase. Bolt costs 1.4 to 1.8 times as much per dollar of room as Lightning, and about three times as much as Nexus, because you skip the evaluation; its 6% limit also trails your peak until the account is 6% up.

ThinkCapital Free Trial: What You Get

ThinkCapital's free trial page offers 14 days on a simulated challenge account with no payment and no credit card. Registration starts from the "Free Trial" button on the homepage, which opens the ThinkCapital dashboard at portal.thinkcapital.com.

  • Platform: ThinkTrader, ThinkCapital's own platform.
  • Rules: ThinkCapital says the trial uses the same profit targets, loss limits and risk rules as its paid challenges.
  • What it is not: it pays nothing, cannot be upgraded and never turns into a funded account. Clause 2.2 of the terms adds that completing the trial gives no right to any other service.
  • Best use: check that your strategy can live with the daily loss limit and the news and weekend rules of the program you plan to buy, before you spend the WELCOME20 discount on it.

BestProps read these terms from ThinkCapital's public pages on October 11, 2026 and did not register a trial account.

How to Apply a ThinkCapital Promo Code

  1. Go to thinkcapital.com and choose a program and size in the pricing table, or open the checkout from the WELCOME20 banner at the bottom of the homepage.
  2. In checkout, check the product category and account size. You can still switch both there.
  3. Tick any add-ons you want. The code is taken off the add-ons as well.
  4. Type the code into Coupon Code in the order summary and press Apply. A working code shows "Coupon applied successfully" and a line such as "Discount (welcome20)".
  5. Fill in your billing details (they must match your ID), choose card or USDT/USDC, and check the total again before Proceed to Payment.

ThinkCapital Code Not Working? Common Reasons

  • You picked a $100K account. WELCOME20 was rejected on every $100K account; use QUIZ20 there.
  • It is not your first challenge. WELCOME20 is for a first ThinkCapital challenge.
  • The code expired. PEACE15 ended September 23, 2026 and the 2025 anniversary codes are long gone. Both show "Failed to apply coupon".
  • You tried to add a second code. One code per order.
  • It is a promoter or coupon-site code. Many are expired, and the live ones usually give 5% to 7.5%.
  • Typo or space. Codes are capitals with no spaces: WELCOME20, QUIZ20.

BestProps could not reach archived copies of ThinkCapital's pages on the check date, so the list rests on dated posts that are still live. A gap means BestProps found no firm-published evidence, not that no sale ran.

When ThinkCapital Runs Sales: the Documented Pattern

The record shows a standing 20% welcome code plus short event codes tied to dates: an anniversary sale at the end of June 2025 (30% to 40%, about two weeks) and a 15% International Peace Day code in September 2026 that ran to the 23rd. ThinkCapital's promo page says it adds codes around trading seasons, holidays and events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and that it announces them through its newsletter, X, Instagram and Discord. BestProps found no dated firm evidence of a Black Friday code and does not predict sale dates. On this record, a first-time buyer loses little by buying now with WELCOME20: of the two documented event codes, PEACE15 (15%) was smaller than the welcome code, and only the 2025 anniversary sale (30% to 40%) beat it.

Rules That Change the Real Cost

RuleWhat ThinkCapital publishesWhy it matters for a discounted account
Fee refundChallenge fees come back automatically with your third payout, never the first or second; if you never reach a third payout there is no refund (help article). Bolt fees are refunded the same way (terms clause 7.6.9).ThinkCapital does not say whether it refunds the list price or the discounted amount you paid; plan on what you paid.
Refund processing feeTerms clause 2.6.1: ThinkCapital may keep a flat $20 from any refund. On a $31 account, a refund could return $11.
14-day cancellationRefund within 14 days of purchase if the account has not been traded; email support with your account number and purchase date.Bought the wrong size or program? Ask before your first trade. The first trade starts the service.
InactivityActivate the challenge within 30 days and trade at least once every 30 days, or the account is closed without a refund.Do not buy a discounted account months before you plan to trade it.
PayoutsUSDT, Rise (flat $50 a month fee) or transfer to a ThinkMarkets personal live account; processed within 3 business days; minimum $100 (payout article). The Rise fee can cost more than the discount on a small account.
Allocation limitsUp to $600,000 funded in total; one Bolt account per size, $192,500 of Bolt at most (allocation article).A code does not let you hold two Bolt accounts of the same size.

Countries ThinkCapital Does Not Accept

Check this before you pay. ThinkCapital's eligibility article on October 11, 2026 listed: Afghanistan, Albania, Australia, Burma (Myanmar), Burundi, British Columbia, the Central African Republic, Cyprus, Cuba, Guinea, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, the Midway Islands, North Korea, the Republic of the Congo, Russia, Samoa, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, parts of Ukraine (Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia), Vatican City, Vietnam, Venezuela, the West Bank, Western Sahara, Yemen and Zambia. Traders must be over 18.

  • United States: accepted, but US clients (including Puerto Rico and other US territories) can trade on ThinkTrader only.
  • Malaysia, Pakistan, Cambodia and Indonesia: Bolt Instant Funding only; Lightning, Dual Step and Nexus are not allowed.
  • VPN use: buying an account type your country is not allowed through a VPN voids funded status and payouts.

Is ThinkCapital Legit? What to Check Before You Buy

  • Who you contract with: TFG (Payments) Limited, 85 Great Portland Street, London. ThinkCapital is branded as backed by the broker ThinkMarkets, but its terms (clause 1.9) say it is not regulated anywhere, that ThinkMarkets' licences and client protections do not extend to you, and that no ThinkMarkets entity is party to or guarantor of your contract. All accounts are simulated.
  • Trustpilot: on October 11, 2026 the ThinkCapital Trustpilot page showed no score. It read "This company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines" and "We've removed a number of fake reviews for this company", with 608 reviews in total and 183 in the last 12 months (75% five-star, 16% one-star). Recent reviews included praise for support staff and complaints about a refused first payout over a rule finding and an instant account that could not be accessed.
  • ThinkCapital's own claims: the homepage shows more than $4 million paid out and ratings of 4.0 on Prop Firm Match (62 reviews) and 4.4 on The Trusted Prop (8 reviews). These are ThinkCapital's figures, not independent checks.

BestProps has not verified any ThinkCapital payout. For the full review, see the
