Best Prop Firms With Trading Competitions, and What Winning Gets You

We checked 20 prop firms for a trading competition. Blue Guardian pays a $200K Instant Funded account monthly, Tradeify’s finale pays $180,000 cash, and six firms’ top prizes are evaluation accounts, not funding.

We checked 20 prop firms for a trading competition, a free, simulated leaderboard event, as of October 3, 2026, and classified every top and mid-pack prize into three kinds: cash (spendable with no further conditions), an instant-funded account (payable from day one, no evaluation), or an evaluation account (a free entry into a pass/fail challenge you still have to clear). Thirteen firms run a competition we could verify and rank: seven pay at least part of the top prize as cash or an instant-funded account (E8 Markets, Blue Guardian, FundedNext, Tradeify, Goat Funded Trader, Instant Funding, Hola Prime), six pay only an evaluation account (The5ers, FXIFY, FundingPips, Alpha Capital Group, AudaCity Capital, Pipster). Two firms (Alpha Futures, Topstep) restrict their only prize leaderboard to traders who already hold a funded account. Five firms (Apex Trader Funding, Bulenox, MyFundedFutures, FTMO, Fintokei) do not currently run an open trading competition at all.

Quick picks among prop firms with trading competitions

  • Best cash prize: Tradeify Premier Trading League, a $180,000 cash grand prize, free to enter, though the biggest payouts require an in-person Florida finale.
  • Best instant-funded prize: Blue Guardian, a $200K Instant Funded account plus $500 cash, no evaluation required, standing monthly.
  • Free and open right now: Blue Guardian, FundedNext, Goat Funded Trader, FXIFY, FundingPips and Pipster all show an open round as of October 3, 2026.
  • Best odds: E8 Markets, 100 paid places against a 4,628-entrant field, about 1 in 46.

Why reading only the prize dollar figure misleads: a firm’s headline prize, “$400,000 Challenge Account” or “100k evaluation,” sounds like funding, but on six of the 13 ranked firms it is a free entry into the same pass/fail evaluation a paying customer buys, not cash and not a funded account. The lead table below marks every prize by what it actually converts to.

What a prop firm trading competition is

A trading competition, for this post, is a firm-run event where a trader enters a free, simulated or demo account and is ranked on a public leaderboard against other entrants for a defined, dated window, with a prize awarded by final rank. This is different from a paid evaluation or challenge, where a trader buys an account and passes or fails against fixed objectives, not against other traders. Most searches for this topic arrive from questions about what a $50,000 or $100,000 funded account costs; a competition entry itself is always free in this post, the account you trade is virtual, and winning does not hand you a $50,000 cash balance. Winning produces one of three outcomes: cash, an instant-funded account, or another evaluation account you still have to pass.

Pay cash or an instant-funded top prize
  1. Sources: each firm’s own competition page, help centre and rules, read October 3, 2026; never a bot vendor’s list or a competing roundup.
  2. Test to rank: free to enter, open to anyone subject to normal KYC and country rules, currently live or run on a recurring named cadence, and a rank-based prize ladder published before entry.
  3. Classification: the top prize and a realistic mid-pack prize are each classified as cash, an instant-funded account, or an evaluation account, quoting the firm’s own help or rules page that confirms whether a further pass/fail step exists.
  4. Order: firms whose top prize is cash or instant-funded rank above firms whose top prize is an evaluation account; inside each group, by odds, paid places against the entrant cap or most recently observed field.
  5. Cautionary and excluded: a competition gated behind an existing funded account, or no competition found at all, goes to a separate checked-not-ranked table.

A discretionary live call-up at a firm is a fact to weigh, never a reason to rank a competition lower; none of the ranked competitions in this post have one tied directly to the competition prize itself.

What winning a prop firm trading competition actually gets you

What winning a prop firm trading competition really gets you: a cash card, an unlocked instant-funded account, and an evaluation account checklist with a target
The three things a prop firm competition prize can actually be: cash, an instant-funded account, or an evaluation account.

Every ranked firm-site competition page prints an impressive prize ladder, and none of them tells you plainly which of three things the headline figure actually is:

  • Cash is spendable money with no further conditions, paid outright. E8 Markets’ $10,000 top prize and Tradeify’s $180,000 grand prize are both unconditional cash.
  • An instant-funded account is a payable account handed over with no further evaluation required; the winner can request a payout once ordinary conditions like minimum trading days are met. Blue Guardian’s $200K Instant Funded account and Goat Funded Trader’s Instant GOAT prizes both work this way.
  • An evaluation account is a challenge account the winner must still pass under its own real profit-target and drawdown rules before it becomes anything payable. FXIFY’s $400,000 Challenge Account and Alpha Capital Group’s 100K evaluation prize are both free entries into a paid-style evaluation, not funding.

Worked examples, one per type, each quoted from the firm’s own page: E8 Markets’ Hyper Cup states, “$10,000 cash reward for the winner,” paid with no further step. Blue Guardian’s competition page states “1st Place $200K Instant Funded + $500,” and Blue Guardian’s Instant products are funded from day one with no evaluation phase. Pipster’s Halloween FAQ states plainly, “The top 10 eligible traders receive a 1-phase challenge account in the prize tier shown above. Pass that challenge to unlock a funded account,” confirming the prize is an evaluation entry, not a funded account.

Notes on this ranking: firms with a cash or instant-funded top prize rank above firms whose top prize is an evaluation account; inside each group, firms are ordered by odds (paid places divided by the entrant cap or most recently observed field size), best first, with firms lacking a published field size placed after those with a computable figure. A round not open today still ranks if the competition runs on a standing, recurring cadence; its current status is named in the Entry, cadence column.

Ranked prop firms with trading competitions

Thirteen firms run a trading competition that passes this post’s test: free to enter, open to anyone subject to normal KYC and country rules, currently live or run on a recurring named cadence, with a rank-based prize ladder published before entry. Ordered by prize type, then by odds.

E8 Markets pays $10,000 cash outright to its Hyper Cup winner, the best odds of any ranked firm

Verdict: First: a straight cash top prize with the best paid-places-to-field ratio of any firm we could compute odds for, 100 paid places against a final field of 4,628 entrants, about 1 in 46.

The Hyper Cup Tournament ran June 19 to July 19, 2026 on E8’s own E8Trade platform; no new round is open or announced as of October 3, 2026, but the same help-centre collection (which also ran the earlier First Bell Tournament) shows this as a recurring, occasional named-event format, not a one-off.

Top prize: “$10,000 cash reward for the winner”, 1st place, quoted on both the help article and the live leaderboard. This is spendable cash with no further evaluation or pass/fail step.

Mid-pack prize (ranks 26-50 of 100 paid places): a “10k account of their choice”. E8 sells no instant-funded product anywhere in its lineup, every E8 account, including a tournament-won one, is a Challenge account that must still be passed under its own profit-target and drawdown rules before reaching a payable stage.

  • Entry and who can enter: Free; verification via KYC (Veriff) is required to claim a tournament seat, but no existing paid evaluation or funded account is needed. Open to anyone who creates a free E8X account and passes identity verification.
  • Contest rules: 5% daily drawdown and 10% static maximum drawdown apply during the 30-day window, same as a standard paid evaluation. You have only one shot: once you fail the tournament account, you cannot rejoin that round.
  • Prize account rules: A cash prize pays directly with no further step. An account-sized prize below the top 3 places is a free entry into a Challenge account the winner must still pass before it becomes payable.
  • Watch out for: No round is currently open (dormant since July 19, 2026); check E8’s Promotions and Tournaments collection for the next named round before counting on this prize ladder.
  • Trustpilot: Trustpilot rating hidden (a “breach of our guidelines” banner), 3,298 reviews, read September 30, 2026. E8 Markets profile.

Blue Guardian hands its monthly winners an instant-funded account up to $200K, no evaluation required

Verdict: Second: a standing, open-now monthly competition with the tightest entrant cap of any ranked firm, 5,000 participants, giving a 50-of-5,000 paid-place ratio of 1%.

Standing monthly program, resets on the 1st of every month (8:00 AM UTC) and runs to the 30th (10:00 PM UTC). A new round is open today, October 3, 2026.

Top prize: “1st Place $200K Instant Funded + $500” cash. Blue Guardian’s Instant product line is funded from day one with no further pass/fail evaluation phase, so a competition-awarded $200K Instant account is immediately a payable account, not a challenge.

Mid-pack prize (6th-10th of 50 paid places): a “$25K Instant Funded Account”, the same no-evaluation Instant product at a smaller size.

  • Entry and who can enter: Free and open to anyone 18 or older; one account per email address and per IP address. Registration is via the Blue Guardian trading dashboard; no existing paid account required.
  • Contest rules: 4% daily and 8% overall drawdown, both measured on the initial balance; expert advisors and trade copiers are banned outright during the competition, stricter than Blue Guardian’s regular evaluation accounts, which allow EAs.
  • Prize account rules: The Instant account still carries funded-stage conditions before any money moves: a max-loss floor, a profit cap on the smallest tier, minimum profitable days, a consistency rule and a payout fee. Winning does not mean the cash is already in hand.
  • Watch out for: Disqualification is entirely at Blue Guardian’s own discretion, with no appeal; no live entrant counter is published, so you cannot gauge current fill against the 5,000-participant cap before registering.
  • Trustpilot: Trustpilot rating hidden (a “breach of our guidelines” banner), 2,089 reviews, read October 2, 2026. Blue Guardian profile, status.

FundedNext claims the largest named prize count of any ranked firm, 760 winners every round

Verdict: Third: the deepest paid-places ladder we found, though only the top 100 of those 760 claimed winners receive a guaranteed prize; the rest enter a lottery with roughly 1-in-10 odds.

Standing, recurring program, shortened from a full calendar month to a 14-day trading window per round starting August 2026. The live page’s own hero banner and body copy disagree on which month’s round is current; treated as open today based on the countdown widget and “Registration Open” state.

Top prize: “1st place, $5,000 cash, Stellar Instant $20K, $5,000 plus a funded 20K account”. The Stellar Instant product has no challenge phase at all; once awarded it is immediately a payable account.

Mid-pack prize (ranks 101-600, a lottery pool): a “Stellar Instant $2K account”, awarded to only 50 of the up to 500 entrants in that pool, drawn at random by a published, signed RNG process.

  • Entry and who can enter: Free, no purchase required. Register from the dashboard, then trade at least 5 separate days to be ranked. Open to anyone subject to normal KYC and restricted-country rules.
  • Contest rules: 5% daily and 10% overall loss caps, including floating losses, are permanent for the window on breach. Automated trading, EAs and the platform’s own Trade Manager tool are banned outright and will disqualify the entry.
  • Prize account rules: A Stellar Instant prize account carries no further evaluation; a winner can request a payout once the account hits 5% growth or the 14-day cycle closes at 1% growth.
  • Watch out for: Only ranks 1-100 win a guaranteed prize; ranks 101-600 earn nothing but a lottery ticket, with 50 winners drawn from up to 500 entrants, meaning most of the lower bracket wins nothing at all.
  • Trustpilot: 4.5/5 on 80,702 reviews, read October 2, 2026. FundedNext profile, rules.

Tradeify’s Premier Trading League puts up the single largest cash prize of any competition we checked

Verdict: Fourth: a $1,000,000 simulated prize pool and a $180,000 cash grand prize, free to enter, but the largest payouts require winning your way to an in-person finale in Florida.

Occasional named event, the first run of this specific bracket format, replacing Tradeify’s earlier Grand Cup series. Open 1 ran September 21 to October 15, 2026; Open 2 runs October 26 to November 19, 2026; the Championship Finale is December 11, 2026 in the Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton area.

Top prize: a “Grand prize $180,000” cash award for the World Finale winner, per the Official Rules’ prize-fulfillment section (W-9 and W-8BEN tax forms, Form 1099), with no further pass/fail step named.

Mid-pack prize (51st-150th of up to 500 paid places per Open): “$525 each”, flat cash by leaderboard rank, same prize table as the top prize.

  • Entry and who can enter: Free, no purchase required, for both Open 1 and Open 2. Open to anyone 18 or older in a non-restricted jurisdiction who registers a Contest profile, accepts the Funded Trader Agreement, and subscribes to the Tradeify TV YouTube channel for the duration of the contest.
  • Contest rules: Four weeks of head-to-head matches, Tuesday and Thursday. Paid resets exist mid-contest: a $25 match reset and a $49 tournament reset, each usable once, if you want to recover from a bad match.
  • Prize account rules: Cash prizes are paid directly, subject to standard tax-form requirements; no further evaluation stands between the prize and the money.
  • Watch out for: A Finalist who cannot attend the in-person Florida finale forfeits the seat to an alternate; the bulk of the $1,000,000 headline figure, the $180,000 grand prize and most of the top-8 payout ladder, is gated behind physically showing up, not available to a remote qualifying-stage winner alone.
  • Trustpilot: 4.4/5 on 4,959 reviews, read October 2, 2026. Tradeify profile, rules.

Goat Funded Trader stacks a phone and a 400K instant account on top of its monthly first prize

Verdict: Fifth: 20 individually ranked prizes every month, each pairing cash or a gadget with an instant-funded account, plus 10 extra random-draw prizes for everyone else who enters.

Standing monthly program, resets on the first day of the month and ends on the last day. A round is active today, October 3, 2026.

Top prize: a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra plus a “400K Instant GOAT Account”, 1st place. The Instant GOAT model’s own article states its funded-account access type is “Immediate Funded”, no pass/fail evaluation stands between the prize and a funded account.

Mid-pack prize (10th of 20 paid places): “$25 Cash + 5K Instant HERO Account”, also immediate-funded per that product’s own model article.

  • Entry and who can enter: Free; register with an email, no payment required, then sign up from the competition page. Open to anyone; KYC and country rules apply only at payout, not at entry.
  • Contest rules: The live page’s marketing text and its own prize structure table disagree on one prize: the FAQ calls the random-draw prize an “8k Two Step Goat Challenge” (an evaluation account), while the actual prize table lists it as a “$5K Instant HERO Account” (no evaluation). Read the table, not the blurb.
  • Prize account rules: Instant GOAT and Instant HERO accounts carry no further evaluation stage once awarded, per their own model articles.
  • Watch out for: No current-round entrant count is independently verifiable: the live leaderboard widget’s API call returned an invalid-token error outside the page’s own session, and the page’s “98,000+ Traders” badge reads as a total platform-signup figure, not a per-round field size.
  • Trustpilot: Trustpilot rating hidden (a “breach of our guidelines” banner), 4,344 reviews, read October 2, 2026. Goat Funded Trader profile, rules.

Instant Funding’s named tournaments pay cash plus a funded account straight through, when one is open

Verdict: Sixth: a deep, 100-plus-rank prize ladder paying real cash plus a no-evaluation funded account to top finishers, but the current named round shows registration closed.

Occasional named tournament series with its own sign-up windows, not a standing always-open competition. The current page (Year of the Trader Tournament) shows “Registration is closed” as of October 3, 2026; a prior round (The Golden Games) is also closed.

Top prize: “$2,000 cash prize + $200,000 IF Micro Account”, 1st place. The firm’s own IF Micro help pages describe a no-evaluation, funded-from-day-one program with ongoing daily-loss and drawdown risk limits, not a pass/fail challenge.

Mid-pack prize (places 11-30 of the named bands): “$100 cash prize + $25,000 IF Micro account”, same no-evaluation product line at a smaller size.

  • Entry and who can enter: Free, when a round is open. No requirement to already hold a paid evaluation or funded account; KYC and country rules apply per the firm’s general policy.
  • Contest rules: If you breach your tournament account, there are no retries for that round. Tournament account profits cannot be withdrawn directly; only the stated prize is paid out, via email, Rise or crypto within two business days of the tournament ending.
  • Prize account rules: An IF Micro prize account carries ongoing daily-loss and drawdown risk rules but is funded immediately upon being granted, with no evaluation gate.
  • Watch out for: Registration for the current named round is closed; the firm runs occasional tournaments with their own sign-up windows rather than always-open entry, so check the live page for the next window before expecting to enter today.
  • Trustpilot: Trustpilot rating hidden (a “breach of our guidelines” banner), 4,375 reviews, read October 2, 2026. Instant Funding profile.

Hola Prime’s rotating named series pays a confirmed cash prize, but no round is open today

Verdict: Seventh: a long, dated history of named rounds and a confirmed top-3 cash prize on the firm’s own page, but the page itself shows no currently open round, and the account component of its prizes is only confirmed by a third party.

Occasional named event (rebranded nearly every round: Market Rumble, BTC Rumble, Grand Prix, Traders Cup, Prop Arena among 12 rounds shown since January 2025), run on a near-monthly cadence. No round is open for entry on the firm’s own page as of October 3, 2026, only a generic “upcoming competition” teaser with no dates.

Top prize: $2,000 cash, confirmed on the firm’s own winner table for its most recent completed round (Prop Arena, January 2026). A third-party recap of the same round additionally lists a $100,000 2-Step Prime account for 1st place, an evaluation product per Hola Prime’s own challenge rules, but this account component is not shown on any Hola Prime page directly.

Mid-pack prize (11th-20th, per the third-party recap only): a $10,000 2-Step Prime account, the same evaluation product at a smaller size; not independently confirmed on a Hola Prime page.

  • Entry and who can enter: Free; no card, deposit or purchase required. Open to anyone 18 or older who can sign up for a Hola Prime account; KYC is required only before withdrawing a prize, not to enter or trade.
  • Contest rules: One account and one IP address per person, per the only rules detail available (a third-party recap of the firm’s own January 2026 rules, not independently verified on a firm page at read time).
  • Prize account rules: A cash prize pays directly. Any 2-Step Prime account component, if awarded, is a paid-style evaluation product requiring two profit-target phases before funding, per the firm’s own challenge rules page.
  • Watch out for: No round is visibly open today, and the firm’s own page never publishes a prize ladder below 3rd place for any round; the full ladder and the account component of the top prizes come only from one third-party recap, not confirmed on any Hola Prime page.
  • Trustpilot: 4.5/5 on 3,879 reviews, read October 2, 2026. Hola Prime profile.

The5ers runs the only weekly competition in this post, trading a real evaluation account shot every week

Verdict: Eighth: the shortest cadence of any firm here, a weekly leaderboard with a live field count, but every named prize is an evaluation account you still have to pass.

Standing weekly program; a new contest starts each Wednesday at 10:00 AM server time and ends the following Tuesday. The live round (Contest 261007) started October 7, 2026.

Top prize: “1st place, 60K High Stakes”, an evaluation account. The winner must still pass High Stakes’ normal profit-target and max-loss rules, and passing leads only to the same discretionary acceptance gate documented in The5ers’ Terms and Conditions, not instant funding.

Mid-pack prize (50th of 100 paid places, in the 21st-80th bucket): “$5 HUB CREDITS”, a small, non-withdrawable site credit redeemable only toward a future evaluation purchase, not cash and not an account.

  • Entry and who can enter: Free; traders can register for only one contest at a time. Open to anyone subject to the firm’s general sign-up KYC and country rules; no requirement to already hold a paid evaluation or funded account.
  • Contest rules: The contest is capped at the first 20,000 traders who register and runs on MT5 only. The live field read October 3, 2026 showed 1,739 of 20,000 registered.
  • Prize account rules: A High Stakes prize account is a standard paid-style evaluation; passing it funnels the winner into The5ers’ discretionary Professional User acceptance step, the same gate a direct buyer faces.
  • Watch out for: The headline prizes (“60K High Stakes” and similar) sound like funded accounts but are evaluation accounts you still have to pass; mid-pack prizes below the top 10 are trivial $5 credits, not cash or an account.
  • Trustpilot: 4.7/5 on 38,974 reviews, read October 2, 2026. The5ers profile, status.

FXIFY’s monthly competition hands out a $400,000 evaluation account to its winner, no EAs allowed here

Verdict: Ninth: a long-running, 28-plus-month standing program with a deep 12-place ladder, but every prize on it, including the headline $400,000 spot, is an evaluation account the winner still has to pass.

Standing monthly program, dated continuously back to June 2024. The live round (October 2026 $1M Challenge Account Competition) runs October 1 to October 31, 2026 and is open today.

Top prize: a “$400,000 Challenge Account”, 1st place. FXIFY’s own General Terms and Conditions define a Challenge as a paid-structure evaluation product that must be passed before a Verification stage, and only then is a trader recommended, not guaranteed, as a candidate for the funded program.

Mid-pack prize (6th of 12 paid places): a “$50,000 Challenge Account”, the same evaluation mechanism at a smaller size.

  • Entry and who can enter: Free; open to anyone who creates a free FXIFY account, subject to standard KYC and country rules. Entrants from FXIFY’s restricted-jurisdictions list are not eligible for prizes.
  • Contest rules: 5% max daily drawdown, 10% max total drawdown, 0 minimum trading days, and no EAs allowed, a notable departure from FXIFY’s standard paid products, which explicitly permit EAs.
  • Prize account rules:
